Chris Jericho Asks Jim Cornette To Manage Him Versus Kenny Omega
One of 2017’s biggest surprises was Chris Jericho showing up in New Japan Pro Wrestling to challenge Kenny Omega to a match–Alpha vs Omega, at New Japan’s yearly spectacle Wrestle Kingdom 12 int he fabled Tokyo Dome.
Of course the match is set, a no-disqualification match listed as being for Omega’s IWGP United States Championship.
Chris Jericho later attached Kenny Omega, leaving him in a bloody mess, creating a feud unlike any that’s been seen in New Japan in years. Omega responded in kind, attacking Jericho during a press conference. This feud has challenged old school aspects reminiscent of Memphis, a territory ruled by a king, Jerry Lawler, that blurred the lines way before social media was there to help (or hinder) the process. This feud began as Jericho and Omega talking smack on Twitter, with Jericho even referring to Omega as not the best in the world, “not even the best wrestler from Winnipeg.”
Enter Jim Cornette, a now long-time opponent of the brand of wrestling furthered by Bullet Club, of which Kenny Omega currently serves as the leader. Cornette had this to say about Chris Jercho’s upcoming bout with “The Cleaner:”
@IAmJericho is a lot smarter than I am–I just WANT to punch Omega's face, he's figured out a way to do it and make a shit-pot full of money out of it. Ol' Kenny's gonna have stiffer competition than a blowup doll or an 8 year old girl at the Dome. https://t.co/NparQoLnOU

Of course Chris Jericho was quick to up the ante, offering Cornette the chance to stand in his corner at Wrestle Kingdom 12:
Can I hire you to come manage me Jimmy? Might need angry JC in my corner!! 🙂 https://t.co/JIHL88fUxR

Jim Cornette’s opinions have long seemed dated, but there is still entertainment value in Cornette managing Chris Jericho against Kenny Omega. Cornette couldn’t enter Canada for Impact Wrestling’s Bound For Glory week, so we’re uncertain about a trip to Japan. While this likely never comes to fruition, it’s yet another anecdote associated with the amazing feud between Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
