EA’s Weekly RAW YouTube Report (6/18/18)

WWE Raw YouTube

As we all know, social media and other outlets have become a huge means of drawing in interaction and viewers for WWE. Most people will point to television ratings like they did during the Monday Night Wars in the late 1990’s, however that can be skewed with so many various means of watching today that do not include cable television.

As you’ve become accustomed to, here is this week’s RAW YouTube Report (2:30 PM EST, 6/20/18):

  1. Ronda Rousey attacks new RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss – 6.1 million views
  2. Roman Reigns & Bobby Lashley make a case for a Universal Title shot – 1.7 million views
  3. Kevin Owens attempts to make friends with Braun Strowman – 1.2 million
  4. Braun Strowman & Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens & Baron Corbin – 1.1 million
  5. Roman Reigns & Bobby Lashley vs. The Revival – 950k views
  6. Bayley & Sasha Banks vs. The Riott Squad – 675k views
  7. Seth Rollins defends the Intercontinental Title vs. Dolph Ziggler – 671k views

Giminy Gillickers Radioactive Man! HUGE numbers at our number one spot for the second week in a row, as RAW’s inarguable top draw Ronda Rousey got her revenge on Alexa Bliss from Money In The Bank. I expected big numbers for Rousey again like we saw last week (3.9 million views), but I did not expect what we got as it’s the biggest number I’ve seen while doing these reports on back-to-back weeks. I don’t care Ronda’s skill level, I don’t care the opponent. The fact of the matter is, she’s the biggest star in the company. This isn’t Twitter, but don’t @ me.

The top draw for the red brand’s men occupies the number two and number five spots as Roman Reigns clocks in at 1.7 for second, then takes a dip down to 950k for fifth. I’ve seen some try to say “Bobby Lashley draws” or something of the sort. However, just go back and look at our reports. Outside of the “car crash syndrome” between Lashley and Sami Zayn, he does not pull numbers on his own. The one week where Lashley had a segment by himself (which was the one-on-one interview with Renee Young some weeks back), he didn’t even crack 400k. Again, DON’T @ ME.

‘The Monster Among Men’ who’s now ‘Mr. Monster In The Bank’ Braun Strowman gives his usual strong showing, hovering just over the one million mark that’s good for third and fourth on our list. There’s been interest in ‘The Prize Fighter’ Kevin Owens on a weekly basis, so you can give him a little bit of credit as well, but without Braun I don’t see him reaching a million. Don’t get me wrong, I love Kevin Owens and find him to be the most entertaining heel in all of WWE, but Braun’s the man right now and you’re definitely looking at your future Universal Champion.

Number six is taken by the ladies this week as Sasha Banks and Bayley team up to face The Riott Squad. Is there anybody that thinks this number is because of ‘The Hugger’ or The Riott Squad? Bueller? Well, if you do, you’re incorrect. This is spot on with Sasha’s average.

Lastly, the Intercontinental Title match rounds out the top seven and surprisingly, we see a drop. Seth Rollins had been the hottest male Superstar on RAW, so this is a little hard to explain as he is almost weekly at a million views. Especially considering this was a shocking title change that nobody saw coming, I expected more and perhaps we would have gotten it had this Open Challenge received some promotion.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”

Published

on

A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.

While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community

Published

on

Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.

The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
