Impact News: Non-Spoiler Preview For Tonight’s Impact Wrestling On PopTV
This week’s episode of Impact Wrestling is coming off the epic fight in the woods between Eddie Edwards and Sami Callihan last week. At the end of Impact we saw that Callihan escaped and the blood feud looks to be continuing. Tonight we get the fallout from the fight in the woods, an X-Division Championship match, a No DQ Knockouts match, and we will learn the main event to Slammiversary.
Here is what’s on tap for the show tonight:
- Kiera Hogan vs Tessa Blanchard (No Disqualification):
This is a continuation of their rivalry that began when Tessa Blanchard first came on the scene in Impact Wrestling at Redemption back in April. Tessa jumped on commentary during Hogan’s match against Taya Valykire and claimed she was better than any of the Knockouts and it was undeniable. Tessa would then go on to beat Keira Hogan in a match but then a post match beatdown lead to her losing to a returning Madison Rayne at Under Pressure. Last week Keira interrupted Tessa’s interview which lead to a fight between the two with Tessa standing tall at the end. Tonight it all comes to a head in a No DQ match, who will be the one with their hand raised after it’s all said and done?
- Matt Sydal (c) vs Brian Cage (X-Division Championship):
This match came to be after Dezmond Xavier defeated Petey Williams for a chance to face The Machine Brian Cage in a #1 Contender’s match in which Cage was victorious in. Since coming to Impact we haven’t learned much about The Machine we have just seen him dominate and win match after match after match. Many have said that the way Impact is booking Cage is similar to the way WCW booked Goldberg. Last week Sydal tried to get Cage to forfeit his title opportunity and join him and Cage responded with an F5 to Sydal. Will Matt Sydal find the blueprint to stopping Weapon X and handing him his first defeat or will we see a new X-Division champion?
- Eli Drake vs Moose (#1 Contender’s Match):
Last week we saw the return of The Fact of Life where Eli named the top 5 dummies of Impact. Drake would name Moose as the #1 dummy and announced they would face off next week with the winner going on to challenge Austin Aries for the world title at Salmmiversary. Who is next to challenge Aries for the gold Moose or Drake?
- The fallout from The Fight in the Woods
All this and more will be on tap for tonight’s show. Don’t forget to checkout my live coverage beginning at the top of the show 8pm EST.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
