There’s now only fifteen days remaining until the WWE’s next pay-per-view and arguably it’s most anticipated outside of the “Big 4”, Money In The Bank on June 17th. While excitement for the MITB Ladder Match lives, many members of the WWE Universe have wondered what role one of their favorite Superstars will play at the event this year, Daniel Bryan.

Bryan had multiple matches on SmackDown Live in the past few weeks with a chance to qualify for the Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match, coming up short against Rusev and then again this week in a ‘Last Chance’ Triple Threat which was won by Samoa Joe. According to a new report, WWE may have held Bryan out of the match for a good reason.

Dave Meltzer is reporting in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the company has chosen not to put Bryan in this year’s match in an attempt to try and lessen any risk of injury for the former WWE Champion. We all know Daniel made his big return to the ring at WrestleMania back in April after fighting to get himself cleared from multiple concussions and a lesion on his brain. The thought here is that a ladder match is much more dangerous and the WWE is just not willing to put him in such a position.

EA’s Take: I’m not buying this for one, solid second. If the guy is cleared, then that means he is cleared with no restrictions, which has been reported as the case by Meltzer as well (you can check that out here). I don’t think he was ever planned to be in the ladder match and not because of “injury concerns”, but because of the angle he’s had going on with Big Cass. If you’re concerned with Bryan getting hurt again, is there really a big difference between a 20-minute ladder match and spending over an hour in a Royal Rumble? How about this; why would you have him take a ladder shot at all like we saw this week on SmackDown Live? It just doesn’t add up. Plus, I don’t think WWE even wants to put Bryan anywhere near the title picture right now, so there’s no sense in even toying with him winning that briefcase.
