EA’s Weekly RAW YouTube Report (7/2/18)
As we all know, social media and other outlets have become a huge means of drawing in interaction and viewers for WWE. Most people will point to television ratings like they did during the Monday Night Wars in the late 1990’s, however that can be skewed with so many various means of watching today that do not include cable television.
As you’ve become accustomed to, here is this week’s RAW YouTube Report (2:30 PM EST, 7/4/18):
- Kevin Owens takes a ride in a porta-potty thanks to Braun Strowman – 1.6 million views
- Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre ambush Roman Reigns – 1.1 million views
- Sasha Banks & Bayley go to counseling with Dr. Shelby – 590k views
- Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre – 576k views
- Roman Reigns & Bobby Lashley vs. The Revival – 474k views
- Kevin Owens recovers from his porta-potty ride – 391k views
- Baron Corbin demands Finn Balor apologize – 380k views
With two more episodes of RAW heading into Monday before Ronda Rousey’s “suspension” from the red brand is over, the top spot was up for grabs yet again and yet again Braun Strowman slides right in. For the second week in a row, ‘Mr. Monster In The Bank’ and his feud with Kevin Owens grabs 1.6 million views and despite some of the negativity towards the portable toilet segment on social media (let’s face it, there will always be the curmudgeons), the rivalry has easily been Monday night’s most entertaining in recent weeks. I’ve been focusing on the positives of it, like Kevin Owens continuing to show his range and prove in my mind, why he is overall, the most entertaining Superstar in the company. On a week where there’s no stellar numbers outside of the top two, this also means just the clip of Owens being walked off to the back is good enough for sixth.
At number two this week is the opening segment that saw Roman Reigns getting laid out by Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre, before Seth Rollins makes the save. At this point, I feel like I’m going to turn blue in the face if I continue trying to explain to Roman’s “haters” why he and his spot is so important. I mean, come on. He’s also on our list at numbers four and five. Are the numbers great? No, but again, they’re not great for anybody outside of the top two. Whether it’s for good or bad reasons, people still tune in to see him and we prove it every week here.
RAW was really a struggle this week (as I’ve now said for the third time), so it only takes 590k views to come in at number three for Sasha and Bayley’s visit to Dr. Shelby. Does anybody else find it unusual that Team Hell No reunites and then Dr. Shelby is back all within days of each other? Like, I can just picture the creative meeting where the idea for one of those angles came up and then someone else chimes in, “Hey! I got an ideal…”. All kidding aside, this segment was promoted since last week and I think that fans wanted to see how it would play out, but not enough to get them above the amount of views we see for Banks on a normal week.
Lastly, Finn Balor and Baron Corbin seem destined for a little rivalry as RAW’s Constable demands an apology and of course, doesn’t get quite what he had in mind. Quite frankly, this was just the “best of the worst” in my opinion, from an overall poor episode of RAW. Finn Balor’s popularity alone is really what carries this to the seventh spot ahead of the likes of Matt Hardy vs. Curtis Axel, Nia Jax vs. Mickie James, AOP vs. Titus Worldwide, Ember Moon vs. Liv Morgan…it sounds like a house show card.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
