Today, longtime IMPACT Wrestling star Abyss has re-signed with the company as reported by WrestleZone, continuing his tenure that began when the company was known as Total Nonstop Action in 2002 under the name Justice, then introducing the Abyss character in 2003.

Real name Chris Parks, Abyss has also been known as Joseph Park as part of a storyline that harkened back to the classic story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Throughout his IMPACT career, Abyss has been involved in angles with some of professional wrestling’s legends and biggest names including the likes of Raven, current WWE Champion AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Sabu, Rhyno, Christian, Samoa Joe, WWE Hall Of Famers Hulk Hogan, Sting, Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett, The Dudley Boyz and a host of others.

Abyss has also been managed by some of the industry’s best including James Mitchell (of ECW and WCW fame) and is most known for his hardcore matches that include various weapons such as barbed wire and his most infamous matches, the Monster’s Ball.

During his TNA/IMPACT career, Abyss became a one-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, one-time NWA World Tag Team Champion (with AJ Styles), two-time TNA Television Champion, one-time X-Division Champion and two-time TNA World Tag Team Champion (once with James Storm, once with Crazzy Steve). He is the company’s fourth ever Triple Crown winner and was the second Grand Slam champion.

Currently, the length of Abyss’ new deal is not known.
