With the WWE continuing their frenzy of signing some of the top stars from outside of their umbrella, one such performer who has quickly become one of the business’ brightest young competitors has decided to stay put.

PWInsider is reporting that Flip Gordon has agreed to a new two-year contract with Ring Of Honor, keeping him with the promotion through 2020. Flip, who has made most of his headlines trying to get booked for the upcoming All In event on September 1st in Chicago, is only a three-year pro. The 26-year old former military member made a name for himself initially in the New England independent scene after being trained by Brian Fury, making waves with great matches against the likes of Chuck Taylor, Lince Dorado and Cody Rhodes.

In 2017, Gordon signed his first professional wrestling contract with Ring Of Honor and has also worked shows for New Japan Pro Wrestling since, including this year’s Best Of The Super Juniors 25 tournament.

EA’s Take: I’ve interviewed Flip before and he’s a really good kid that seems to have his head on straight. I feel like it’s an accomplishment for someone so new in the business to get this much success quickly and still be a quality human being because that doesn’t happen to a lot of people. While I’d love to see him get a shot on the big stage of WWE and feel like that will happen some day, I’m happy that it looks like he’s happy where he’s at. Congratulations, Mr. Gordon.
