While wrestling fans were tuned into New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Special in San Francisco this past Saturday night, WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar made headlines when he showed up at UFC 226 in Las Vegas, confronting UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier. It had long been rumored that Brock was looking to get back into the ‘fight game’ and his appearance all but confirmed it, following speculation that there was interest in a bout against Jon ‘Bones’ Jones.

There were still hurdles preventing his return however, after he failed USADA drug testing prior to his last fight in 2016 at UFC 200. ‘The Beast Incarnate’ still had to re-enter the USADA testing pool and serve the roughly six months still remaining on his suspension, therefore when his next fight could be has been open to interpretation.

Today, the USADA has provided more details to MMAFighting on when Brock re-entered the testing pool and when he’ll be eligible to fight again:

“After receiving notice of his intent to compete in the UFC, USADA re-entered Brock Lesnar to the testing pool on July 3. With six months and four days remaining on his period of ineligibility, Lesnar will be able to compete on or after January 8, 2019, should he remain in compliance with the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.”

This confirms what UFC President Dana White had said following UFC 226, as well as Lesnar’s likely future opponent, Daniel Cormier (which you can check out here).
