With the WWE being open to former female Superstars returning as we’ve seen with Mickie James rejoining the roster in January 2017, plus the return of Kaitlyn to be a part of this year’s Mae Young Classic (find that story here), there’s been another name rumored for a return for quite some time now.

In early 2017, reports surfaced that former WWE Divas Champion Kelly Kelly was not only interested in coming back to the company, but had also signed a three-year contract. Kelly, who started with WWE in 2006, left the company to heal up a nagging neck injury in 2012. Since, she has been doing modeling and could be seen as a cast member on the E! Network reality series ‘WAGs LA’. Of course, Kelly has made a handful of appearances with WWE from a backstage interview in February 2017, to RAW 25 back in January and a spot in the inaugural Women’s Royal Rumble match. However, there have been no updates on a possible contract since.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kelly is still interested in making a WWE return, but there’s no word on if the two sides have explored the possibility or not.

EA’s Take: This is really kind of old news, if I’m being honest. I am very guilty of trumpeting the fact that reports of Kelly signing a three-year contract to get back in the ring were complete and utter bull$*#% and to be frank, I HATED that so many people bought into the rumors. Such is the wrestling news world, I guess. Either way, I have zero interest in seeing her get back in the ring and I have no clue why anybody would. Honestly, she’s been saying she was interested since last year, so perhaps WWE is not or else they may have worked something out by now. It’s been over a year! Did we not see how rough she was in the Women’s Royal Rumble? She’s only 30-years old, but let’s be honest here folks…she sucked six years ago, so I have no clue what you do with her if she’s an active member today’s roster. The girls would run circles around her.
