As we all know by now, WWE SmackDown Live Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura was injured in one of the more unusual ways you’ll hear about last week, being bitten by a police dog during a precautionary building sweep last Monday in Bakersfield, California (go here for that story). Shinsuke was forced to miss his scheduled United States Title match against the champion Jeff Hardy last Tuesday and was on crutches for SmackDown Live’s tour of Japan over the weekend. It was then revealed during an interview with Nikkan Sports by Nakamura himself that he would be back in action in a couple of weeks (check that out here).

During SmackDown Live tonight, Hardy would issue an Open Challenge for a title shot just as he did last week, this time being answered by The Miz who would fall short. It was then announced later in the show that ‘The King Of Strong Style’ will now be getting his opportunity at Hardy’s title at Extreme Rules in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
