Roman Reigns heads to the ring!
The Big Dog and WWE Universal Champion, “the most polarizing figure in WWE today”, hears the cheers and jeers from Toronto. However, he almost wasn’t champion when the Monster in the Bank came down and stormed the ring. Braun Strowman was ready to cash in, but The Shield reunited! They beat down then powerbomb’d Strowman through a table! Strowman challenged Roman via social media to meet him alone this time, what is Roman’s response?
Roman hears the fans cheer and jeer and repeats he’d meet Strowman at the start of the night. It’s been five minutes, where is he? If the “meat shack” doesn’t come out, then it’ll be the Shield Workhorse Open Challenge! Anyone that wants it, just come get it. But here comes BRAUN! He walks into the ring and actually smiles. Strowman gets a mic while fans chant “Get These Hands!” Roman’s a workhorse? Sure fooled Strowman when his “boys” came out. The Shield is a brotherhood of workhorses. No one tells them what to do, not even Roman. Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose know what it’s like to be at the top, but Strowman doesn’t. All Strowman does is say “Get These Hands”.
But the fact is, those hands push around objects, while Roman’s hands have held all the WWE gold! So if Strowman wants to be on Roman’s level, step up, cash in, and let’s have it out right now! Fans sure want to see that! But Strowman refuses to cash-in tonight. Because everyone here knows, the “boys” would just save him again. Strowman makes Roman a deal: Strowman won’t cash in until 9/16. Just show up where his brothers can’t interfere with it: HELL IN A CELL! Strowman finally sounds like a monster to Roman. Roman offers a handshake, and Strowman takes it. But then Dolph Ziggler comes out? And Drew McIntyre, too.
“Blah blah blah!” Now that we know what’s happening in three weeks, let’s talk about Summerlam, aka the crime of the century. That’s where Rollins & Ambrose “stole” Ziggler’s title. Remember? Wait, being beat fair and square is stealing now? Rollins has been copying Ziggler for weeks now. Ziggler will use his contractual rematch to be seven-time champion. And then he and Drew will have proven themselves to everyone in the world. Drew points to Roman and Strowman, that’s an entirely different story. These two need a new challenge, and “sorry boys, but it’s you.” The Universal Champion, the Monster in the Bank, they’re on top of the Monday Night Raw Mountain! “That’s just fantastic!” Because it’s a double-edged sword. You sit up top, but the only way to go is tumbling down. And these two are more than happy to do that to them tonight.
Drew & Dolph sound real tough on stage, but Roman & Strowman are up for it right here and now. But wait, here comes interim Raw GM, Baron Corbin. He wants everyone to slow it down. This is why Kurt Angle was sent on his “vacation” and Corbin was Stephanie’s handpicked replacement. Strowman officially will get his MITB cash-in for HIAC. But Corbin makes a main event for tonight that Angle couldn’t ever dream of or that no one could’ve guessed. It will be Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler VS Roman Reigns & Braun Strowman. Strowman lets Roman know that HIAC will be where he gets his Universal Championship. But tonight, Dolph & Drew will #GetTheseHands! A very big main event made, but who will make it out the winners?
Baron Corbin speaks in the ring.
He’s a natural GM, right? An improvement over Angle, right? Fans boo but Corbin keeps praising himself. His even more important match, it’ll be Corbin himself VS Finn Balor the man. Not the Demon, just the man. And that match starts right now! Corbin’s always wanted to say that, but will he regret being so overconfident?
Baron Corbin VS Finn Balor!
Corbin wonders what’s taking Finn so long. Does he not have the guts? Finn appears, proving Corbin wrong as usual. He may be taken by surprise, but can Finn still win?
Raw returns and the bell rings. Finn ties up with Corbin, Corbin whips and runs Finn over. Corbin “applauds” Finn before bringing him up and putting him in a corner. Corbin whips but Finn reverses. Corbin sunset flips but Finn rolls through to basement dropkick! Finn goes after Corbin but is powered into a corner. Corbin throws forearms then runs in, but misses. He anticipates Finn’s kick and clobbers Finn again! A 10 count begins but Corbin fetches Finn, to ram him into barriers!

He whips Finn but Finn kicks him back, only to get dropped by a right! The Lone Wolf pushes Finn out of the ring while Toronto tells him “You Can’t Wrestle!” Corbin doesn’t care, he runs around the corner, but into a Slingblade! Finn gets control back as we go to break.
Raw returns and Corbin has Finn back in the half-nelson. Finn feeds off the fans and fights his way up and out. Corbin shoves him to a corner and hits a corner clothesline, then another. COrbin runs in for a third but misses, so he slides out then in. Finn sees it coming and hits him back with forearms! Fans rally for Finn and Finn fires off a strike fest. He trips Corbin for the double stomps! Fans fire up with Finn as he gives Corbin a running chop. Finn whips corner to corner, Corbin reverses but Finn goes up and over. He runs into a foot, and his step up kick is blocked! But Corbin gets hotshot on the rope and runs into another slingblade! Finn runs into Deep Six! Cover, TWO! Corbin jams the chair into Finn’s ribs!
Winner: Finn Balor, by disqualification
But that doesn’t matter to Corbin, he just wants to get the better of Finn. He takes the mic and cuts everything off. As acting GM, Corbin forgot to say this was a No Disqualification match. Let’s keep going.
No Disqualifications: Baron Corbin VS Finn Balor!
The referee isn’t sure about this but the bell has to ring. Corbin SMACKS Finn! Then he drags Finn up and in for END OF DAYS! Cover, Corbin wins.
Winner: Baron Corbin, by pinfall
Corbin is proud of himself but Toronto rains down boos and jeers. Will this abuse of power start to run rampant under the Constable’s rule?
WWE Legends and Hall of Famers speak on Triple H VS The Undertaker #OneLastTime.
Ric Flair says Melbourne will see two of the greatest. Christian, Mick Foley and Jeff Jarrett know both men but are torn on who will win. Double J says Taker wins because nobody has a better record in big matches. Kevin Nash agrees, the Deadman rises the the occasion. But Capt. Charisma says HHH is a desperate man and therefore a dangerous man. Foley bets on Taker, as does Flair. Who do you think wins this legendary rematch?
Dana Brooke and Apollo Crews talk move sets.
Dana being the modern-day Total Package, she’s pretty confident she can flip. Apollo is sure she can, but she should worry about fundamentals in the ring. Titus O’Neil got her this match, and Dana can prove she deserves to be part of WWE Evolution. Speaking of, here comes Titus. He’s excited for her match, a tune-up with… Sasha Banks. Titus is confident Dana can do this, but seriously? It’s Sasha Banks! But Titus has faith in the brand! Let’s make it a win!
Dana Brooke w/ Titus Worldwide VS Sasha Banks w/ Bayley!
The Statistician hasn’t had the best track record with only one singles match all year, but even an underdog can win once in awhile. Can she #MakeItAWin against The Boss? Or will she just be another statistic?
Raw returns as Dana makes her entrance. The bell rings and Dana gets a waistlock to roll up. ONE, but Dana goes for La Mahistrol. ONE, so she tries a jackknife. Another ONE, but things speed up. Dana tilt-o-whirls but Sasha goes fro the Bank Statement. Dana bails out and regroups with Titus Worldwide. She gets fired up and goes after Sasha again. Sasha fights out of the waistlock, then whips Dana to a corner. Dana goes up and over then handsprings to show off her ability. Sasha runs but Dana ducks to enziguri! Cover, TWO! Dana rains rights down on Sasha, and fans give her credit. She flexes then brings Sasha up. Dana whips Sasha to a corner, then runs in for the handspring back elbow. She runs in again but misses! Sasha rocks Dana with a knee, then drops her with Meteora! Cover, TWO!
Sasha keeps focus with Bayley’s help, but fans rally up with Titus Worldwide. Dana hits Sasha with a forearm, then fireman’s carry. Sasha slips out, back stabber into Bank Statement! Dana taps, Sasha wins!
Winner: Sasha Banks, by submission
A valiant effort from Dana, but it’s still #BossTime. The Boss & Hug Connection are on their own roll, where will they end up once WWE Evolution comes ’round?
Dean Ambrose encounters Jinder Mahal & Sunil Singh.
The Modern Day Maharaja senses a great anger within the Lunatic Fringe. Mahal can help guide Ambrose to spirituality. Close your eyes, breathe in, and tell him what you see. Ambrose tries it, and says he sees… Mahal. Okay, what else? Ambrose sees himself. And? He sees himself kicking Mahal in the teeth, and then breaking Mahal’s face, ribs, and making Mahal cry. Mahal is in great pain. Get out of his Ambrose’s face or it’ll come true. Mahal backs away from the Lunatic. Will Ambrose find an outlet for himself?
Seth Rollins heads to the ring!
The Architect and new Intercontinental Champion won the belt at Summerslam and is again part of The Shield. Fans cheer “Burn it Down!” while Rollins gets a mic. He like how Toronto thinks. Last Raw, The Shield took care of some “family business.” They pride themselves on being fighting champions, so this week will be about Intercontinental Championship business. Rollins really thought it was going to be Ziggler, McIntyre or both, but those two have plans. His card is wide open, so maybe, who wants an open challenge tonight? Toronto does! In that case, here is a formal invitation to the Intercontinental Championship Open Challenge!
WWE Intercontinental Championship Open Challenge: Seth Rollins VS ???
The Kingslayer is ready, but is he ready for The Prizefighter? Kevin Owens is practically home in Toronto given that warm welcome. Kevin is glad Rollins is feeling so good. Rollins has his friends, his title and his crossfit, he’s on top of the world. But ever since Kevin came back to Raw, his life has been “a living Hell.” Every week on SmackDown made him want to be on Raw but it’s been a nightmare. Rollins had a great Summerslam because he had his best friend. Maybe if Kevin had his best friend, Sami Zayn, he would’ve beaten Strowman to have the MITB briefcase and then cashed in to be Universal Champion! But Kevin’s not because Sami is at home from injuries.
Summer has been terrible but it ends here. Kevin will not leave without a title! He’s in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and where better- Well okay, Montreal would’ve been better. Kevin speaks French to insult everyone, but it doesn’t matter if you understand, Kevin just wants to take that title right here and now! He storms his way down to the ring, and a referee joins them. Jojo makes the introductions, the belt is raised, and we begin!

They go inside, and Kevin wraps Rollins’ arm around the rope. Kevin kicks the arm, then slams the arm on the mat. He soaks in the heat as he drops a back senton on the arm! Cover, TWO, but Kevin keeps on that bad arm. Rollins endures as Kevin wrenches the shoulder. Fans rally up again and Rollins stands up. Rollins jawbreakers free, then dumps Kevin out of the ring. Kevin drags Rollins out with him, then throws Rollins into barriers. Kevin runs in for a CANNONBALL, but misses! Rollins gets back in the ring and leaves Kevin outside. Kevin crawls over, and breaks the count at 7.
Rollins is up and runs in at the corner for a forearm smash. Rollins chops and punches, then whips. Kevin yanks the bad arm, but Rollins kicks back. Kevin gets a headlock but Rollins powers out, only to get a kick. They speed up, Rollins drops Kevin with a slingblade! Kevin rolls out but Rollins takes aim. Rollins builds speed, to DIVE! Direct hit! Rollins goes back in to DIVE again! He wants the hat trick, but Kevin denies it with a forearm. Rollins hits back, runs, and DIVES! Rollins has control yet again while we go to break.
Raw returns and Kevin is in the drop zone! Rollins climbs up and takes aim, for the Frog Splash! It hits! Cover, TWO!! Rollins can’t believe it, but perhaps his bad arm got in the way. Rollins hits the ropes, then falls on the bad shoulder! Kevin jumps for a MOONSAULT, but MISSES! CURB STOMP!! Cover, Rollins wins!!
Winner: Seth Rollins, by pinfall; still WWE Intercontinental Champion
The Kingslayer truly burned it down with The Prizefighter tonight! Rollins takes advantage of Kevin’s miscalculation, and retains his title. Will Rollins be better about running himself into the ground knowing Dolph Ziggler still has a rematch?
Baron Corbin meets with Braun Strowman.
The Monster puts the briefcase down. “Make sure you bring it to Hell in a Cell.” Strowman has done his part, will he #GetTheseHands on the title?
Kevin Owens sulks in the ring.
He’s been sitting there ever since losing to Rollins before the break. Fans cheer for him as he picks up a mic. “I quit.” What?! Kevin quits?! Quits what? Raw?! Or WWE as a whole?!
Backstage interview with Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler.
The Show-Off & The Scottish Psycho go after Roman & Strowman, but why? To change the game, you need to make a move at the right time. The Shield made one move, these two make their move “to the top of the food chain” tonight. Roman had back to back matches last week, with Brock Lesnar and Finn Balor. He can’t be 100%. Then Strowman almost had the title twice but got nothing. There’s no chance he’s mentally 100%. Plus, Strowman and Roman have Hell in their future, “there is no way that team is right.” The locker room sees the Big Dog and the Monster Among Men as kings of the jungle, but not Ziggler & McIntyre. They’re wounded animals ripe for the slaughter. Will that slaughter be in tonight’s main event? Or will the hunters become the hunted very quickly?
The B-Team VS The Revival!
After the #TopGuys swept Bo Dallas & Curt Axel 2-0 in singles matches last week, it’s time to see if they can do it again in a tag match! Will B-Team #GoGoGo? Or will Dash & Dawson #SayYeah to another win?
Dash Wilder and Bo Dallas start with the bell. Dash gets a waistlock, but Bo elbows out. Bo reels Dash in for a lariat, then drops a knee. Tag to Axel and Bo drops another knee. Axel adds his ax handle, then covers. ONE, but Axel keeps on Dash. Dash hits back and tags in Dawson. The Revival mug Axel, then Dawson chops Axel to a corner. Dawson keeps chopping, then kicks Axel down. He kicks more, then mocks the B-Team theme. He whips Axel in, but Axel hits back. Axle headlocks but Dawson powers out. Things speed up and Axel dropkicks Dawson. Tag to Bo, and B-Team double back drop. Dash tagged in, though, only to run into elbows. Axel clotheslines Dawson out, then Bo throws Dash! The Revival collide and B-Team has control while we go to break.
Raw returns and Dash has Bo trapped in a unique combination of holds. Bo’s arms are trapped while Dash chinbars him. Bo fights out but Dash shifts to a facelock. They push against each other, but Bo blocks a punch to give a punch. Dash drop toeholds and tags Dawson. Dawson gets between Bo and Axel to dropkick Bo. Cover, TWO! Dawson keeps on Bo with a whip, then a back elbow. Cover, ONE, but Dawson puts Bo in a rear bearhug. Bo endures while Dawson puts his weight on him. Axel coaches Bo up and Bo stands. Bo elbows out and kicks the back drop away! Dawson tags Dash and Dash clobbers Bo down. Dash drags Bo up and says “B-Team is DONE!” He climbs up, tornado DDT denied into the draping neckbreaker!
Both men are down but crawling for their corners. Dawson tags in but misses Bo! Hot tag to Axel! Axel rallies on Dawson, and on Dash. He throws ax bombers then back elbows. He snapmares Dawson and fires up for the neck snap! “B-Team, B-Team! GO GO GO!” Axel runs in for a big knee to Dawon’s head! Cover, TWO! Axel stalks Dawosn, kicks and fisherman, but Dawosn counters. Dawson is pushed into buckles, cradle, but Dash rolls it over! Bo knocks Dash and it rolls back! Dash throws Bo out, but Axel has the cover. TWO! Axel spins Dawson around for a backslide, TWO! He rolls Dawson but Dash tags in. SHATTER MACHINE!! Cover, Revival wins!!
Winner: The Revival, Dash Wilder pinning
The #TopGuys get one over on the champions, this can be their claim to another title match. They’re not done though, Shatter Machine for Bo! They grab “their” titles and some mics to add insult to injury. “Over the last few months, this whole Raw Tag Division has been a joke” because of The B-Team. Road Warriors, Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard, and now these two? The Revival are sick of the mockery of tag team wrestling. Bo & Axel better hold onto the titles tight, keep them clean, because they’ll be taken away any time the Revival wants. #TopGuysOut. Will Dash & Dawson shatter B-team’s luck and finally get those titles for their own?
Ladies and Gentlemen: Elias.
The Drifter is in Toronto, and he says we’re gathered here to answer the age old question: “Who Wants to Walk With Elias?!” Toronto sounds up for it. He will test them, and it will get tough, but don’t lose the faith. Do not stray from the universal truth, that WWE really stands for “Walk With Elias!” Fans chant that, too. They sing for him but he’s going to sing his greatest song yet. No, he had an epiphany: “When fellow musician, Drake, said he started from the bottom, he was literally talking about here.” There is no city lower than this “godforsaken hole of Toronto.” Elias was just in New York and says the difference between them, “there is no bigger disappointment in life.” But wait, here comes Toronto’s TRISH STRATUS!
Trish hits the ring and Toronto explodes with a standing ovation. She picks up a mic and Elias gives her a formal introduction. It’s nice to see her doing something important like being in the ring with Elias. Elias knows a lot of things have changed and he’s a big deal. Yes, he is. Trish is a fan of his “catchy tunes”. But when he runs his mouth about her hometown, so please silence phones, hold applause and most of all, Elias, shut your mouth. But Elias speaks the truth. This is like the Stanley Cup, Toronto won’t see it ever. Like Elias and a WWE title?
But he has one thing right: things have changed. When Trith retired as the 7 time WWE Women’s Champion right here in Toronto, sharpshooter locked on, and then took her place in the Hall of Fame, she would’ve never imagined the All Women’s PPV, WWE Evolution. Trish knows in just a couple months she’ll be lacing the boots up again to take on Alexa Bliss. So a Swimsuit Pillow Fight? That’d be great. Ha, good one. But here’s a suggestion: pack up your guitar, take your kimono and scarves, and walk to the back. Elias says cut to the chase. She’s out here because she, like thousands of women, want to #WalkWithElias, if you know what he means. But sorry to break it to you, he doesn’t date women in their 60s. SLAP! It’s what he deserves.
And here comes RONDA! And Natalya! The Rowdy Raw Women’s Champion and the Queen of Harts head down together, because it’s time for another of Canada’s own to have her match, after the break.
Natalya w/ Ronda Rousey VS Alicia Fox w/ Alexa Bliss!
Two veterans of this WWE Women’s Division go 1v1 while the Baddest Woman on the Planet and the Goddess are ringside. Will the Queen of Harts or Ms. Crazy Like a Fox gain momentum towards WWE Evolution in October?
Before things begin, Alexa says her piece. “What a Raw moment.” Natty, Ronda & Trish, all together. Or as Alexa says, Underwhelming, Over-hyped & Completely Irrelevant. yes, Trish, that last one is you. But Trish looks fantastic, her Stratus Yoga is working out. But take some advice from your replacement, yoga won’t help from the beating that’s coming. Alexa then directs her attention to Ronda. She has the title, good for her, but she failed what she really wanted to accomplish: breaking Alexa’s arm so they wouldn’t have a rematch. But Alexa isn’t average, she is Raw’s Goddess and medically cleared. Their rematch happens at Hell in a Cell. Not here in Canada, ew. Enjoy the publicity because Alexa’s taking that belt back.
Now on to Alicia Fox and the beating she’s gonna give Natalya. Foxy has friends, and one Trish knows all too well. Mickie James is back! The once super fangirl is now a legend in her own right. Will she and the Goddess be a factor in this match?
The bell rings and Natty ties up with Fox. Natty whips but Fox goes up and over to sunset flip. Natty rolls through, and goes for the Sharpshooter! Fox fights out and gets to ropes. “I am not playing your games today!” Fans boo but Alexa & Mickie cheer. Natty dropkicks Fox in the head! Natty puts Alicia in, but gets caught in a running neckbreaker! Cover, TWO! Foxy is furious already as she puts Natty in a chinlock. Natty endures while fans rally up with Ronda & Trish. Natty stands up and throws Foxy off, but Foxy boots Natty down!
Fox keeps her cool somehow while she stalks and taunts Natty. She puts Natty on the ropes to choke, but then Micke & Alexa get cheap shots! Trish & Ronda move over and run them off. Natty yanks Alicia off the ropes to then run over with the discus clothesline! Then, Sharpshooter! Alicia reaches, taps, natty wins!
Winner: Natayla, by submission
The Queen of Hart celebrates with the champ and the legend, and for more than just the win. Will Natty get a big moment at Evolution? Will Ronda finally shut Alexa up by taking her arm at Hell in a Cell? And will Trish add on when she goes up against the Goddess?
The Bella Twins find Ronda, Natty & Trish backstage.
They are so happy to see them all! And “damn girl”, Stratusfaction in the house. Trish slapped the taste out of Elias’ mouth. Mamas represent! And Ronda is the perfect role model as champion with Evolution on the horizon. But should they tell them? Should they? Of course! The Bellas talked with Corbin, and they’re back in action next week! Celebratory Selfie! #Women’sEvolution is in full swing, will the Bellas make a victorious return to the ring?
MORE WWE Legends and Hall of Famers speak on Triple H VS The Undertaker #OneLastTime.
Stone Cold says that if you’re ready for this rematch, give him a HELL YEAH! Booker T and Big Show and even Diamond Dallas Page are looking forward to this one. Stone Cold is gonna be glued to his seat watching this. Big Show has taken them both on. DDP says Taker’s still in charge, as does Booker T. Show goes with Taker, because that bell toll alone. But Austin says The Game has the right game plan to finally take Taker down. Pedigree 1-2-3 or Rest In Peace, which side are you on?
Baron Corbin promises to talk with Kevin Owens.
Stephanie McMahon wants to make sure the Prizefighter doesn’t actually quit, but it’ll be on Corbin to appease him. Meanwhile, Corbin’s ordered a masseuse. Bobby Lashley walks in and wonders if he’s still banged up. Corbin just handled Finn with ease. Because he made it a No DQ partway through. Well a lot is going on, it happens, it is what it is. So why did he want to talk? Corbin doesn’t want Lashley to think he was forgotten. Lashley loves competition, so he has a match tonight. Against who? Oh, sorry, so much stuff, from Kevin quitting to paperwork, but that match is next. Next? Yes. Well Lashley better get to the ring. Corbin is actually impressing him. Not. What does Corbin have planned for the Dominator tonight?
Bobby Lashley VS ???
The Alpha Male may not know who his opponent is, but he’s always up for a match. But who did Corbin choose for Lashley’s opponent? Corbin lets Lashley know via the titantron that with all the clutter, he “remembers” it’s a Handicap match! Lashley takes a trip to the Wasteland against The Ascension! Not that it matters, as he knocks down Konnor and runs over Viktor! The bell rings and now the match is official. Lashley and Konnor stare down, but Viktor kicks Lashley. Viktor whips but Lashley reverses. Konnor tags in as Lashley lifts Viktor to then knock Lashley down. Konnor rains rights and then stomps, then puts Lashley in a corner. He clubs Lashley down then puts on a facelock. He grinds Lashley down but Lashley powers back up.
Lashley lifts Konnor, but Konnor drops his weight down. Konnor keeps grinding, but Lashley keeps pushing. Viktor tags in, and The Ascension mug Lashley. Viktor covers, TWO, but he keeps on Lashley with a facelock. Lashley endures the squeeze, and powers out again! He almost throws Viktor on his head! Lashley rallies on both Ascension, then tilt-o-whirls to snake eyes! SPINEBUSTER! Lashley keeps Konnor out, then goes back to Viktor for the Dominator AK-47! Cover, Lashley wins
Winner: Bobby Lashley, by pinfall
Domination complete! Corbin “forgot” to tell Lashley the details, but will Lashley give the Constable a beating he’ll always remember?
Dean Ambrose VS Jinder Mahal w/ Sunil Singh!
The Lunatic Fringe doesn’t care if the Modern Day Maharaja thinks he should relax, he just wants to fight. They have it out here, will Mahal’s inner peace become inner pieces?
They tie up and Ambrose gets a waistlock then takedown. Ambrose shifts to a roll over, ONE, but then waistlock. Mahal elbows out, then runs, but Ambrose clotheslines Mahal out of the ring. Ambrose pursues and chops Mahal. He clubs Mahal in the chest, then chops him again. Sunil talks trash but gets thrown down! Mahal pounces with a knee, then stomps away on Ambrose. Mahal runs for a big knee drop, then covers. TWO, but Mahal drives his knee into Ambrose’s back. Mahal also drives elbows in, then chokes Ambrose on the ropes. He backs off at 4, but then drops springboard knees. Mahal backs off at 2 to then grind his knee in, stopping at 4. He puts Ambrose in a chinlock and sits him down.
Fans rally for Ambrose, and Ambrose fights his way up. Ambrose runs, but into a kitchen sink knee. He comes back with clotheslines, then whips. He elbows Mahal down, but he’s not done. Ambrose brings Mahal up and hangs him on the top rope. Mahal hits the mat while Ambrose catches his breath. Ambres brings Mahal up but Mahal knees low. Mahal whips but Ambrsoe dodges, only to run into another knee! High stack cover, TWO! Mahal grows frustrated, but he then grins as he stalks Ambrose. He brings Ambrose up but Ambrose slips out of the Kallas to hit Dirty Deeds! Cover, Ambrose wins!
Winner: Dean Ambrose, by pinfall
The Lunatic uses his rage to get another win. His return to the ring has been quite the roll, what is in store for him in the coming weeks?
Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman meet backstage.
They don’t like each other, but the only things getting slaughtered are McIntyre & Ziggler. Then Roman can spend the rest of the next 20 days thinking about how he’s gonna lose that title. roman says on Day 21, Strowman will realize what happened when he didn’t get the job done. They’re far from allies, but can they work together to take out the Show-Off and the Psycho?
Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler VS Roman Reigns & Braun Strowman!
One team is united in their mission to take all of Raw by storm. The other team knows that win or lose, they’re going to battle it out inside the infamous Hell in a Cell structure. Will the Big Dog & Monster in the Bank simply be fuel for the fire? Or will they stop Ziggler & McIntyre short of being kings of the mountain?
The bell rings and Roman starts against Ziggler. Roman and Ziggler circle, and Ziggler kciks low. He taunts Roman but gets an uppercut for it. Ziggler jumps on Roman for a headlock, but Roman powers out. Roman runs after and takes Ziggler out with the leaping lariat. he rocks McIntyre just because, then clotheslines Ziggler out. Ziggler & McIntyre regroup while fans fire up both ways for Roman. Roman goes out, aims at Ziggler, and hits the Drive-By! He brings Ziggler back up but fans say “We Want Strowman!” McIntyre pounces on Roman with a boot, then puts him in for Ziggler. Ziggler jumps for the satellite DDT! Cover, but Strowman breaks it. Ziggler crawls and tags McIntyre, so McIntyre rains rights on Roman.
McIntyre promises Strowman he’s next, but Strowman says he hopes so. Strowman “coaches” Roman up with shouting, but McIntyre & Ziggler mug Roman in their corner. Ziggler keeps on Roman with a chinlock, and shifts it to a sleeper as Roman tries to crawl for Strowman. Fans rally up while Roman endures the squeeze. Fans duel as Roman reaches, but Ziggler dropkicks Roman down! Cover, TWO! McIntyre tags in to stomp and chops Roman, and Strowman grows frustrated. McIntyre deadlifts and throws Roman, covers, TWO. Now McIntyre taunts Strowman with Roman’s tag before stomping Roman out. Tag to Ziggler and he stomps Roman, too. Ziggler drops an elbow, covers, TWO. Ziggler wraps on a sleeper and body scissors, but fans rally up. Roman feeds off that energy as he rolls towards his corner.
Ziggler holds on as Roman stands up. Roman reaches out as he takes steps towards Strowman. Ziggler squeezes on as tight as he can and Roman drops to his knees again. Strowman shouts at Roman to keep fighting, and fans rally up with him. Roman gets that second wind, stands up, but bumps Ziggler off buckles. Roman is free but is far away. Ziggler runs in, but Roman sends him up and out! Roman crawls while Strowman reaches, but Ziggler intercepts, only to get a boot! Strowman is chomping at the bit as Roman and Ziggler both crawl. Hot tag to McIntyre, and he whips Roman. Roman kicks McIntyre away, then ducks. McIntyre grabs the vest! Roman fights but is thrown with a belly2belly! He’s again isolated in enemy territory.
McIntyre tags in Ziggler, and they each stomp Roman. Ziggler starts toying with Roman, then grinds Roman’s face on the ropes. “Do something, Roman!” Ziggler runs, into a SUPERMAN PUNCH! Fans fire up as Roman crawls and Strowman reaches. Ziggler crawls for his corner, too, hot tags to McIntyre AND Strowman! The Monster glares at McIntyre, and fans chant “Get These Hands!” McIntyre starts to worry, but he and Ziggler go after Roman. Strowman doesn’t do anything, even though he’s the legal man?! He’s also after the title, so he’s letting them beat Roman down for him! The ref calls for the bell!
Winners: Braun Strowman & Roman Reigns, by disqualification
Strowman FINALLY enters the ring and stares at Ziggler & McIntyre. But then they all look at Roman. Strowman drags Roman up and says, “I’M NOT FINISHED WITH YOU!” He headbutts Roman right off his feet! Then he drags Roman up and whips him into the corner! Was this his plan all along? Or is Strowman taking advantage of the hungry wolves that are McIntyer & Ziggler? McIntyre rains down rights, and Ziggler gives Roman a SUPERKICK! But here comes Ambrose! The numbers are not in his advantage, he gets beaten down 3v1! Claymore Zig-Zag!!
But now Rollins tries! The Kingslayer has a bad arm on top of the numbers disadvantage, he gets a Zig-Zag, then the Monster Slam! Strowman then gives Ambrose the Monster Slam! Fans boo as McIntyre drags Roman up. Strowman nods, and McIntyre feeds Roman to the Monster Slam! Strowman teams with the Show-Off and Scottish Psycho and put The Shield down. Will The Shield stay down? Or is this the trio to finally destroy them?
My Thoughts:
This Raw seemed to stall out while WWE simultaneously builds Hell in a Cell, Super Show Down and Evolution. Corbin claims he was overwhelmed by the pressure of his first night, but he got the hang of being a Heel authority pretty quickly. When things don’t go his way, Corbin abuses his power to change things so that he can say he broke even with Finn. He also wants revenge so he springs a Handicap Match on Lashley, only for it to backfire. Though since Lashley was going to foil Corbin’s plans, it was fine that Ascension got squashed. A legitimately challenging team like the Authors of Pain would be hurt way more by this squash than Konnor & Viktor, who are sadly already last place. I’m hoping this turns into Finn, Lashley and maybe even Angle teaming up against Corbin & Ascension to appoint the rightful GM to Raw.
I’m fine with WWE getting their legends to talk about HHH VS Taker #OneLastTime, but they should have made it all one segment. They’ll likely do another two of these tomorrow on SmackDown and even next week, but these packages take away from the in-ring action. Great to hear HBK will return to talk about this since he was the other third of that #EndOfAnEra moment. I’m not as excited to see The Bella Twins back in action already. Evolution is a long time from now, they could wait a couple more weeks to give room to the HiaC build. Trish Stratus showing up was another great treat, though, and I loved her rip on Elias. Hooray for Natty on the win, but I feel with WWE Evolution’s promise of roughly 50 women, there’s gotta be a battle royal or something right? That’s likely where she’ll be on the card.
It’s great to see the members of The Shield are all willing to take on anyone for any reason, under the banner of being the workhorses of Raw. Rollins VS Kevin was practically PPV worthy in itself, and Kevin’s sudden “I quit” promo right after was interesting. He went on about not having Sami Zayn around with him, so I wonder if Kevin will still choose to leave for a time. Kevin & Sami could make a great return around Rumble time, and I really hope they go for tag titles. They should’ve done it on SmackDown, they should’ve done it the moment they got to Raw just because, so they better try next time these two are both here. Especially if Revival finally get those belts, because that would make an amazing match, and all four could be/should be Heel.
After The Shield beat Strowman down last week, it almost seemed obvious he’d team up with someone to even the odds. McIntyre & Ziggler made obvious choices, but I’m pretty sure the execution could’ve been much better. I almost thought that after Strowman gave Corbin the briefcase for the HiaC match, Corbin would betray Strowman and give the briefcase to Kevin Owens to make sure Kevin doesn’t “quit” Raw. The good news is we didn’t get that, but the bad news is, we got this swerve that didn’t feel right. This is WWE partially turning Strowman just so fans will think they should cheer Roman. The fans cheer The Shield, but Roman is still “polarizing”. I’d think Rollins & Ambrose VS Ziggler & McIntyre is an obvious match for HiaC, but that doesn’t mean the four of them won’t try to interfere in the Universal title match.
My Score: 7.5/10

Attitude Of Aggression #350- The Big Five Project: Royal Rumble ’97
The Big Five Project returns as the Attitude Era hits its stride with Stone Cold Steve Austin winning his first Royal Rumble Tune in!
On this special 350th Episode of the show, the Big Five Project returns as we enter the year PC Tunney has been looking forward to for a very long time. 1997 is here and so to is the Attitude Era. More or less anyway. We begin what will surely be an epic run of episodes here on the Big Five Project with Royal Rumble ’97. It was a night that saw the WWE return to a stadium as over 61,000 fans packed the Alamodome in San Antonio to see the boyhood dream come true all over again as Shawn Michaels reclaimed the WWF Championship from Sycho Sid. But it was also the night that saw “Stone Cold’ Steve Austin capture the first of his three Royal Rumble wins, and the most controversial of all of them as Austin was eliminate, but the refs never saw it. Austin’s victory would set off a wild chain reaction of events that would completely shift the landscape for WrestleMania XIII. In reality, the entire evening was a who’s-who of huge players in WWF at the time, even if they still were not quite fully aligned with the gimmicks that would launch the industry into the stratosphere. It was an epic night in every sense of the word so come with us deep into the heart of Texas and celebrate as the Attitude Era begins to hit its stride with Royal Rumble ’97!

The Death Riders speak.
It was after AEW Dynamite on Wednesday that Jon Moxley said, “Every time I step into the ring with Kyle O’Reilly, I can’t find a way to win. It’s been failure after failure after failure. Kyle O’Reilly has tapped me out, twice. Ipso facto, Kyle O’Reilly will be the new Continental Champion. You might think. But the Jon Moxley of six months ago is not the same as Jon Moxley of today. Who I will be tomorrow is better than who I am today. Logic and strategy would dictate that I should stay as far away from Kyle O’Reilly as I can. Because there’s no doubt about it, Kyle, you have my number.
The thing about this Continental Championship, it’s good bait. All the dragons I wanna slay come right to my door. I will do what I’ve done for 22 years surviving in this business, Kyle: I’m gonna find a way.” The Maniac heads out, and Claudio Castagnoli steps forward to tell Brody King that Brody always brings the bark. But if he steps in the ring with Claudio in the Owen Hart Tournament, he better bring the bite. Pac then says, “Nobody gets special treatment. It doesn’t matter who you are, Death Riders against the world.” Daniel Garcia says yeah, let’s get it! Yuta repeats, “Against the world.” Marina Shafir tells the world, “Bring it, you p*ssies!”

Will Ospreay speaks.
It was also after Dynamite that The Aerial Assassin told Samoa Joe, “My apologies for not getting back to any of your messages, been a little bit busy training and getting myself ready for The Owen. Surprised to see you there in the opening round, mate. It’s gonna be a tough one. But if you can just bear with me for a hot second while I explain to you… Six months of my life got taken away from me, mate. Six months, I’ve been sitting in front of a TV screen, watching AEW, looking at it, trying to get my strength back in my arms, rushing to get back. That’s six months of frustration, six months of anger. And then I finally had my kill shot on Dynasty, and I lost.
“And ever since then, man, I’ve been struggling with my matches. Doc even stopped one for my own safety. I’m annoyed that I didn’t get revenge on Jon. But I’m more upset at the idea that I can’t be the guy that AEW put their trust in once upon a time. Regardless of how I feel about Jon, regardless of how I feel about The Death Riders, there’s nothing that I can say that’ll make people ever understand. But Jon Moxley is the Ace, he’s a soldier for this place. And while his methods might be sick, there are people who stand up to see him get elevated. So what could it happen with him in my corner?
“Joe, I’ve got nothing but respect for ya. Everything that you’ve done in this industry. Mate, you were in the match that made me want to become a pro-wrestler. But no one, no one, is stopping me from winning The Owen. And I find it very poetic that the man takt took away my old life has given me a second chance of capturing the world championship.” The Billy Goat is ready to become something more, but will Samoa Joe make sure Ospreay goes Double or Nothing and loses?

Cassidy says Willow needs to say something.

Willow hobbles her way over, rolls into the ring, but Velvet SUPERKICKS her down! Cover, TWO!
The fans rally as Velvet brings Willow up. Willow shoves Velvet, Velvet counter punches! And counter punches! Velvet fires a flurry, but Willow slips around to waistlock. Willow ducks the elbow but Velvet DDTS! Willow goes to ropes, Velvet runs up, DOUBLE KNEES! The fans fire up while Velvet yanks the ropes. Velvet wheelbarrows to BULLDOG! Cover, TWO! Willow survives and Velvet is frustrated. Velvet brings Willow up to ROCK her, then she runs the ropes, but into a SPINEBUSTER! High stack, TWO! Willow frowns as she scoops Velvet, RAMS her into a buckle, then OKLAHOMA- NO, Velvet DDTS free again!
The fans fire up as Velvet dragon sleepers, STRAIGHT OUT THE- NO! Willow stops Velvet to POWERSLAM through! The fans fire up as Willow gut wrenches, BABE WITH THE POWER- RANA! Velvet puts Willow back on ropes, and DOUBLE KNEES again! Velvet snaps Willow back, but Willow is up! Wheelbarrow and- FULL NELSON SLAM! Cover, TWO!! Velvet survives but Willow keeps on her. Willow ROCKS Velvet, Velvet ROCKS Willow, repeat! Willow rebounds to LARIAT! Both women are down again and the fans fire back up! Velvet rolls away to a corner, but Willow rises up! Willow goes up but Velvet CHOPS! Velvet climbs up after Willow, SUPER VICTORY THROW! The fans fire up as Velvet then STIRS IT UP!! Cover, TWO?!? Willow survives and Velvet is shrieking in anger! The fans rally and duel as Velvet demands Willow to get up! But then Willow ducks the heel kick, and the buzzsaw! Shove, dodge, and POUNCE!! PERIOD! The fans fire up with Willow and she drags Velvet back up. Willow gut wrenches, BABE WITH THE POWER BOMB!! Cover, Willow wins!
Winner: Willow Nightingale, by pinfall (still AEW TBS Champion)
Red Velvet brought the fire, but she couldn’t cook Willow! Willow is now rolling towards Double or Nothing and her match with Alex Windsor, but will she then head for her second Owen Hart Cup win?
Backstage interview with Sammy Guevara.
Lexy Nair is with The Spanish God and brings up how he called out Darby Allin just last night at Supercard of Honor for the AEW World Championship. But just like last night, Sammy hushes “Chica” Lexy, and says, “Everybody’s Favorite Pillar is about to talk, so zip it and listen. Darby, I don’t need to call my shot against you because I looked through the history books, and history’s on my side. I’ve beaten you not once, not twice, not three times, I’ve beaten you four times. When I look at the history books, I’m a three-time TNT Champion while you, you’ve only held that belt twice.
“So I’m gonna beat you tonight like I’ve beaten you before. I’m gonna stamp my ticket to Double or Nothing, and MJF, I know you’re watching, you sociopath. I’m gonna beat you next week and I’m gonna shave you BALD! But don’t worry, I’ll give you a nice little fade. Because I am the best! I am the best wrestler, I am the best talker, I am the best this planet has! I’m the Spanish God, dammit! I’m number one, I’ve been here since day one, and there’s only one way this is gonna go: With me as the NEW AEW World Champion! Darby, your time is up, and my time is now. Because I am Numero Uno. That means ‘number one.'”
Sammy heads out, but is his big head only going to get in the way tonight?
Backstage interview with Darby Allin.
Collision returns and Lexy is now with said AEW World Champion. She brings up the five title defenses in 21 days, an AEW record! But tonight is number six against someone Darby’s known for a long time in Sammy Guevara. Darby says when he showed up today, he asked if anyone had seen MJF yet. Then he thought, “What a stupid question. Of course he’s not gonna be at Collision.” MJF is not a company man, he only cares about himself. And those same people asked back, why is Darby back? Why is Darby defending his title again? Double or Nothing is next Sunday, why is Darby risking losing this? Because Darby loves this!
And if there’s anyone in this company as crazy as Darby, it is Sammy Guevara. Darby loves it! Darby realizes this could all end tonight, and Speedball wants his match on Wednesday? Well, if Darby walks out here tonight, then on Dynamite, it’s Showtime! Darby thanks Lexy then heads back out. Will the Relentless Reign be an unstoppable one? Or is this one Collision Darby will not walk away from?
Something’s going on backstage!

Bowens says if you’re asking what this change of attitude is about… This man, Samoa Joe, has been teaching Bowens all he needs to know: choices have consequences; and if you don’t like the way the table is set, you flip that table over and you choose violence! The fans cheer, and now Joe speaks on the mic. “Oh, Ospreaaaay~…! Do you understand what I do for my friends? But unfortunately, decisions have consequences, and you chose a different road, Will. Joe & Bowens have made it clear that no matter who, no matter where, and no matter what, The Opps will not show mercy. Will nothing stop The Opps from taking it all here in AEW?
Backstage interview with #Brodido.
Lexy Nair is with Brody King & Bandido, and wants to talk the Owen Hart Tournament. Brody is set to face Claudio while Bandido is up against Swerve Strickland. Now, if they both win their matches, that pits them against teach other in the semifinals. But what they also needs to talk about is last night, Supercard of Honor, Bandido retained the title, only for Swerve to attack. Brody tells Swerve that he warned him about what would happen if Swerve messed with the people Brody cared about! Next time Brody sees Swerve, he’ll- Bandido stops Brody there, and says no, no, hermano. Bandido loves you, but this is Bandido’s battle, and Brody needs to respect that.

And after Double or Nothing when Bandido beats Swerve, Swerve won’t be a danger to anyone anymore! Both sides of Brodido have spoken, but will either of them knock down Swerve’s House? Or will Swerve’s thirst for power be satiated with the Owen Hart Cup?

AEW hears from the four fighting for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
Kris Statlander says, “At Double or Nothing, I face three women, one who I hate, one who I respect, and one who I’m still not sure about.” The hated one, Thekla, says there’s only one way this ends when she’s up against dumb b*tch after dumb b*tch after dumb b*tch. The respected one, Jamie Hayter, says she had the title stripped away from her and it’s eluded her ever since. And the uncertainty, Hikaru Shida, says even though it is every one for themselves, she knows she and Kris will be on the same page, just like always! Kris says y’know who really has her back? Kris herself! That’s all she needs! Jamie warns Thekla that she’s gonna find out, unfinished business is her favorite kind!
Thekla says Double or Nothing, the Toxic Spider destroys New York! A Fatal 4 Way of epic proportions await, will there be nothing left after the dust clears?
Backstage interview with Athena and Mina Shirakawa.
Lexy Nair is with the ROH Women’s World Champion and the Fighting Gravure Idol, and thanks them for accepting the No Physicality Agreement. They are on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Tournament, this has gotta be a tough one. Athena says maybe, maybe not, but the facts are this: Athena has been the ROH Women’s World Champion for over 1252 DAYS, and has left of dozens of bodies in her wake. Pretty sure Mina’s one of them. Mina says last year at All In, Athena broke Mina’s hand. Athena says so what! Last year at Death Before Dishonor, she kicked Mina’s ass all over the arena! Why does Mina think this match will be any different?
Mina laughs and says last night at Supercard, when she locked in the Figure Four on her opponent, she dreamt it was Athena. Athena says Mina is dreaming of her! So flattered! But she hopes Mina has the best dream tonight: Mina’s dead body in a ditch, next to her precious Toni Storm! Mina tells Athena that Mina has dreamt of winning The Owen and the AEW Women’s World title, while ending Athena! She can’t dream anymore, because now she will live it! Athena says sure, sure. They argue, but Lexy keeps them from getting physical! Will the Fallen Goddess be unstoppable even in AEW? Or will The Owen will be about #MinaNow?

Backstage interview with Anna Jay.
Lexy Nair is with the Queenslayer and commends her on that great return match against Willow Nightingale a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to stop the Comeback Killer. Anna gives all the respect to Willow, her moves hurt. Maybe Anna dove into the deep end, but she didn’t drown. So while Willow is still TBS Champion, maybe Willow isn’t quite the Comeback Killer. Anna came back, is still here, and there is still a lot left for them to do. And by that, she means her and Tay Melo! As if his reign wasn’t wild and reckless before, Darby just doubled down with Sammy here tonight! And yet, he’s now set for a showdown with Speedball in Portland! Will no one and nothing stop Darby Allin from doing this again and again? Or is he about to write a check his body can’t cash?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision that not only fed Double or Nothing but did a great job following up ROH Supercard of Honor, assuring fans that ROH does matter after all, despite the lack of building contenders and therefore new champions. I mean, Athena is STILL champion, even when Survival of the Fittest was the best way to dethrone her while protecting her. But good interaction from Athena and Mina ahead of their Owen Hart Cup match, and if Athena is going to still be champion even now, she might as well just be a finalist already. On the other end, it’d be great if Willow also got to the finals to potentially be a two-time Queen of Harts.
Speaking of Willow, great promo with Conglomeration, great match with Red Velvet, but with Velvet still the ROH Women’s World TV Champion, it makes sense that Willow retains her title. Great Six Man Tag from Conglomeration VS Shane Taylor Promotions, and The Conglomeration’s win helps them build momentum towards all their stories. Very good promo from Kyle, very good promo from Death Riders, and I feel like Kyle should at least last the 20 minute time limit to earn his title match with Moxley for Double or Nothing. Meanwhile, Cassidy & Roddy are NOT winning against FTR, FTR has to settle things with Cope & Christian first.
Ciampa going after Briscoe, that whole brawl, and then Briscoe upping the ante for Dynamite, that No Disqualification match is going to be awesome. Very good tag match of Joe & Bowens VS Lethal & Lee, with a good win for The Opps. Very good promo from Joe & Bowens after, and a very good promo from Ospreay, too. Joe VS Ospreay could be a show stealer, but I would think Ospreay wins so that his story with The Death Riders can be part of the Owen Cup. TayJay being back together is great, and I can see them going right at Divine Dominion and easily lasting the five minutes to then earn their title match later on.
Great Six Man Tag of Davis & Dogs VS Rascalz, but with Stadium Stampede looming, naturally Davis & Dogs won to bring momentum for their team. I’d expect The Demand to have their own tune-up for the three-hour super show go-home next week, but they might’ve announced that tonight if that were the case. Very good promo from Lio Rush to further this Jekyll & Hyde/Smeagle & Gollum type of gimmick for him. For those who didn’t watch Supercard (or haven’t read my article on it), Action Andretti turned on Lio Rush and partially blamed Lio’s new dark side for it. RIP CRU, we hardly knew you, but Action VS this Lio is going to be great stuff between AEW and ROH programming.
And of course, another insane instant classic from Darby Allin as he and Sammy use No Count Outs to get hardcore. Good bit of selling from Darby to tease his body giving out on him, but naturally he wins out. They might do a similar spot during his match against Speedball on Wednesday to make it seem MJF has a chance of taking the title at Double or Nothing.
My Score: 8.9/10
