Many fans of the WWE are always looking for some good, juicy behind the scenes stories when it comes to the company backstage, whether it be storylines, Superstar pushes or how angles are being booked.

For those type of fans, a new book released back on August 7th called ‘Creating The Mania: An Inside Look at how WrestleMania Comes to Life’ is definitely in their wheelhouse. The author of the book, Jon Robinson, recently spoke with The Wrestling Estate about how it came about and how he got access to WWE. More interestingly though, Robinson revealed some plans for WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans back in April that had to be changed due to injuries to multiple Superstars:

“There were a lot of matches in play that could have completely changed the card. And then you hear from creative about injuries affecting things like Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose, and then Ambrose got injured. They were also trying to do Kurt Angle vs. Jason Jordan, but then Jordan got injured.”

Robinson also noted that The Usos and The New Day pushed to have a TLC match at the event, which of course did not take place as they instead faced off with The Bludgeon Brothers in a Triple Threat. Additionally, Robinson spoke about Kevin Owens’ plans for WrestleMania, as ‘The Prize Fighter’ had hopes that he would face Vince McMahon following an angle in 2017 that saw Owens deliver a vicious headbutt to the WWE Chairman. That too did not come to fruition, as Owens teamed with Sami Zayn at ‘The Showcase of the Immortals’ to face SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon and the returning Daniel Bryan.
