As has been talked about all day today, tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live featured a rematch from SummerSlam as The New Day challenged The Bludgeon Brothers for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. However, it was different this time around after The New Day seemingly had the titles won at SummerSlam before Rowan utilized his mallet to cause a disqualification. Therefore, tonight’s match was contested under No Disqualification rules.

With Big E banged up from SummerSlam, Kofi Kingston stepped in tonight as the action got underway very quickly, spilling to the outside right at the bell as the champions unloaded on their much smaller challengers. Unfortunately for the champions, the smaller size of The New Day gave them a big speed advantage, which Woods and Kingston utilized to take the advantage before showing their more aggressive side with the help of a ladder. Before they could use it though, The Bludgeon Brothers, more specifically Harper, showed he was capable of high-flying as well.

Steel chairs would then enter the mix as the champion retook control, creating chaos to suit their style and begin dominating the challengers. Once again, The Bludgeon Brothers looks to use their mallets, but instead it worked against them this time, leading to a flying elbow to Harper through a table from Woods to give us new SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
