With WWE’s SmackDown Live set to make the move to Friday night’s on FOX beginning on October 4th, 2019, the speculation regarding more WWE programming possibly airing on FOX Networks has continued to swirl.

We’ve heard how another studio show was a part of the deal to bring the WWE to FOX and the talk about what that could be has ranged from the return of Talking Smack, to NXT possibly airing on television outside of the WWE Network (read about that here), to even Saturday Night’s Main Event being revived yet again. However, this has of course all been rumor and innuendo.

Today, a new report by Richard Deitsch of The Atlantic is stating that there is a very good chance of a SmackDown Live pregame show airing Friday nights on FS1 that may be hosted by talents hired by FOX themselves, possibly with the approval of WWE. Additionally, it’s being said there’s also talk of doing post-game shows on FS1 for pay-per-views.

EA’s Take: I’m sold. Not on the idea of a pre or post-game show because quite frankly, I could care less and likely would never tune in for it. I’m just sold on this being what the “extra programming” we’ve heard so much about will be. I never bought into the NXT thing because it just makes zero business sense for WWE. Why would you take that product and just use it as a throw-in to the SmackDown Live deal, thus getting no extra money for it? At least right now, it’s a huge draw for WWE Network subscribers. It just never made any kind of sense.
