Chairshot Classics: WWE Survivor Series 2015
Match #3 – Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match: Ryback, The Lucha Dragons (Kalisto & Sin Cara) & The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) vs. WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), ‘Mr. Money In The Bank’ Sheamus & King Barrett
- Jimmy & Xavier to start things off, they lock-up and Woods runs to the ropes, complaining about touching his hair. They tieup again, Jimmy with a wristlock, Woods with a stiff right and he complains some more, Jimmy scoring with a right hand and dragging Woods by the hair to the corner. Jey gets the tag, The Usos try a double superkick, Xavier slides under it and tags out, Kingston hitting the ring and Jey with a hip toss. Jimmy tags, brings in Sin Cara and The Usos lift him into a splash of Kofi for 2. He shoots Kingston into the corner, charges in and runs into a back elbow, Kofi attempting a tornado DDT, Sin Cara blocks and powers into a northern lights suplex for a count of 2. Kingston with a quick kick to the gut, tags out to Mr. MITB, Sheamus whips Sin Cara into the ropes for a back body drop that’s countered into a sunset flip for 2. The Celtic Warrior reverses a whip into the ropes, Sin Cara hangs on and avoids Sheamus charging in, sending him spilling to the outside. He drops Barrett off the apron with a forearm, then one for Sheamus, Woods hits the ring and gets dumped to the outside, Kingston following suit. Jey gets the tag, The Usos & Lucha Dragons all fly over the top with crossbody planchas, Ryback heads up top and takes everyone out with a crossbody of his own. Jey sends Sheamus in the ring, scales the corner, The Celtic Warrior grabs the ref and Barrett crotches Jey on the turnbuckle. Sheamus covers for a 2 count, tags in the King and he pummels away at Jey, planking him across the top in the corner for knees to the ribs, followed by a big kick. New Day, Sheamus & Barrett with frequent tags, all taking turns stomping a hole in Jey in the corner, Barrett & Sheamus sending him into the ropes for a double back elbow. Mr. MITB slams Jey, Kofi from the 2nd rope with a double axe off the tag, covering for 2 before going to a chinlock. Jey fights to a vertical base, drops Kingston with an enzuigiri and crawls to tag Jimmy as Woods comes in. Jimmy with right hands and kicks, plants Xavier with a samoan drop, sets for the hip attack in the corner, the King with a distraction from the apron and it allows Woods to hit a running dropkick. Barrett tags in and pounds away at Jimmy, sets for Wasteland, Jimmy slips out and connects with a superkick, tags Sin Cara and helps him come off the top with a somersault senton for the pinfall. King Barrett has been eliminated.
- Kofi springboards into the ring, Sin Cara ducks under, plants him with a schoolboy powerbomb and tags Kalisto, monkey flipping him into a splash for a near fall. Jimmy re-enters, snapmares Kingston over and drops a headbutt for a 2 count. Jimmy uses an armbar to wear Kingston down, gets whipped into the corner, side-stepping a splash. Woods with a blind tag, Kofi cracks Jimmy with a backbreaker, Xavier coming off the top turnbuckle with a double stomp and he gets 3. Jimmy Uso has been eliminated.
- Sin Cara comes in for behind with a roll-up for 2, springs off the 2nd rope with a headbutt, then again with a moonsault for a near fall. He shoots Xavier in for a back body drop, Woods sees it and hits a kick, Big E with a blind tag and Woods elevates Sin Cara to the apron. Sin Cara connects with an enzuigiri from the apron, Big E builds a head of steam and spears Sin Cara out to the floor, tosses him inside and Sheamus tags himself in. He set for the Brogue Kick and hits it, covers and finishes off the masked man. Sin Cara has been eliminated.
- Big E is hot at Sheamus for tagging himself in, arguing with him from the apron and getting tagged back in. Ryback hits the ring and clotheslines Mr. MITB to the outside, flattens Big E with a Meat Hook, then tags Kalisto who scores with a spikerana. He tags Jey who climbs upstairs and connects with the splash for the pinfall. Big E has been eliminated.
- Kofi & Xavier are incensed that Big E got eliminated and they carry him to the back, leaving the match and Sheamus all by himself. The Celtic Warrior wonders where his teammates went, staring down 4-1 odds. He hits the ring, Kalisto ducks a back elbow, hits a flurry of kicks, goes into the ropes and Sheamus levels him with a clothesline. Mr. MITB unloading with the heavy artillery, tosses Kalisto with a release vertical suplex for a count of 2, then ties him in the ropes for the Beats Of The Bodhren. He sends Kalisto into the ropes, the masked man connects with a back handspring enzuigiri, gets the tag to Jey and he comes in off the top with a crossbody for a near fall. The Celtic Warrior reverses a whip into the corner, charges in, Jey side-steps and hits a running forearm, charging in with the hip attack and getting another count of 2. Jey with stiff right hands, Sheamus pushes him into the ropes and splits him with the Irish Curse for 2. He attempts a suplex, Jey slips out and tags The Big Guy, Ryback unleashing a fury of shoulder to the midsection in the corner. He squashes Sheamus with running clotheslines, whips him to the ropes and plants Mr. MITB with a spinebuster. The Big Guy puts Sheamus in his crosshairs for the Meat Hook, The Celtic Warrior ducks it and gets a roll-up for a quick 2, then drives him to the mat with a tilt-a-whirl powerslam for another 2 count. He calls for the Brogue Kick, Ryback catches him in position for a powerbomb, Sheamus fights out of it and The Big Guy falls to a tag. Kalisto springboards in for a seated senton, The Celtic Warrior catches him in the air, Jey with a blind tag, scores with a right hand, Ryback tags and hits Shellshocked to finish it.
Winners & Sole Survivors: Kalisto, Jey Uso & Ryback
- EA’s Take: Unless something’s going to come out of New Day walking out on Sheamus, I didn’t really see any point to this other than ‘keeping the tradition going’, which you did anyways on the Kickoff Show. I’d have had the heels go over here, I dont understand the point of legitimately making Sheamus look stupid. It’s possible they did this to try and make us forget about his MITB briefcase, thus making a cash-in later in the night more surprising. This guy is ging to have the title at some point though, I’d be trying to make him not necessarily look strong…just not like an idiot.
Match #4 for the WWE Divas Championship: Paige vs. WWE Divas Champion Charlotte
Paige charges into a waistlock, Charlotte taking her down to the canvas multiple times, Paige finally reaching the ropes to force a break. He buries a shoulder to the midsection, hammers away with knees, the champion catches a leg and they exchange on the apron with heavy shots, Paige pushing Charlotte spine-first into the ring post. The challenger drives Charlotte off the announce table, sends her in the ring and grabs a front facelock, switches to an abdominal stretch, then climbs on the back with a chinlock.
The champion rams Paige into the top turnbuckle to break the hold, serves a plate of patented Flair chops, Paige with a kick hits the ropes and Charlotte follows in, scoring with a big boot. She looks for the Figure Eight, Paige counters to a small package and gets a 2 count, immediately connecting with a superkick for another near fall. She mocks Charlotte and goes for a figure four, the champion kicks her off and picks the leg, locking in on of her own. The challenger rolls over to reverse the pressure, Charlotte flips back over to retake control, rolling under the bottom rope to the floor to exacerbate the hold.
She puts Paige on her shoulders, drops her face-first on the apron, mocks the challenger and rolls her back inside. Charlotte exposes with multiple knee drops, chokes Paige on the canvas and locks in a headscissors, driving the challenger face-first into the mat. The champion rolls through with it, kips up and drives shoulders to the ribs in the corner, charges in and meets the ring post shoulder-first. Paige dumps Charlotte to the floor, drops down and tosses her back inside, ties the champion in the ropes and wrenches back on the arms. The challenger with a slam, locks in a single leg chinlock, switches to a body scissors to wear the champion down.
Charlotte slams the challenger down to break the hold, Paige catches her with a running knee in the corner, fires off a flurry more, then gets dropped on the top turnbuckle. Charlotte rushes her in the corner, Paige tries double boots, the champion catches the leg and whips her into a neckbreaker for a near fall. They trade shots in the center of the ring, Charlotte reverses an irish whip for a back body drop, Paige sees it coming, tosses her to the ropes and the champion comes back with a spear, follows with Natural Selection and the challenger rolls to the floor.
Charlotte rolls her back in the ring, Paige quickly rolls out the other side, driving the champion into the apron and then the barricade. The challenger climbs on top of the barricade to pose for the crowd, Charlotte hops up and spears her down to the floor, sends her in the ring and goes to the Figure Eight, forcing Paige to tap.
Winner and STILL WWE Divas Champion: Charlotte (Figure Eight)
- EA’s Take: The crowd was not into this at all, but I actually enjoyed it. I loved the aggressiveness from both ladies and thought it was a hard-hitting slugfest, which is what it should have been after Paige made it personal last Monday night. A little surprised that Charlotte got the clean win, I thought they may stretch this out into TLC which could very well still happen. They’ll need to finish this off before we are on The Road To WrestleMania, where I’d find it hard to imagine that Sasha Banks won’t be involved in the title picture.
Video: Earlier tonight, Jojo caught up with Dean Ambrose following his win. Ambrose states that everyone knew this day would come when he’d have to meet Roman Reigns for the title. Reigns is his brother and he’d give him the shirt off his back, but tonight he’ll do whatever he needs to win. Roman walks in and agrees with Dean, wishing him luck.
Match #5: Tyler Breeze w/Summer Rae vs. Dolph Ziggler
They tie-up and jockey for position at the start, Breeze with an armdrag and he props himself on the top turnbuckle to relax a little. They lock-up again, Ziggler with a quick roll-up that barely gets 1, follows with another and scores with an armdrag, mocking Tyler by relaxing on the corner. Prince Pretty takes exception, attempts a splash and misses, Dolph following with a dropkick and Tyler to the outside to regroup. The Show Off heads out after him, Breeze uses Summer as a shield and slides into the ring, tries to catch Dolph on the apron and walks into a boot.
Breeze looks to escape out the other side, Ziggler drags him back in, The King Of Cuteville dropping him on the middle rope and Dolph spills outside. Tyler rolls him back in, pummels The Show Off with boots in the corner and right hands, then shoots him in for a back elbow that only gets 1. Prince Pretty grabs a leg, Ziggler kicks him away, Breeze hooks the legs and rolls through into a single leg Boston crab. The Show Off crawls to the bottom rope to gain a break, Tyler coming off the 2nd rope and is met by a Dolph dropkick. Z builds momentum with jumping clotheslines, splashes Breeze in the corner and plants him with a neckbreaker, follows with a jumping elbow drop for a count of 2.
He hits the ropes for the fameasser, Tyler avoids it and grabs a schoolboy for 2, rushes at Ziggler in the corner, Dolph hops into a sunset flip, Breeze dropping down and hanging onto the ropes, forcing the ref to not count. The Show Off rolls through and gets 2, attempts the fameasser again, Tyler catches him for a powerbomb, Dolph rolls through and they exchange near falls with multiple roll-ups. The Show Off sends Prince Pretty hard into the corner, flapjacks him off the rebound and sets for a superkick, Tyler catching the foot and trying the Unprettier, Dolph counters to a backslide for a near fall.
Ziggler tries the superkick again, Tyler ducks under the bottom rope to the apron to avoid it, The Show Off tries to drag Tyler back in and the ref forces a break. Prince Pretty sneaks in a kick to the knee, plants Dolph with the Unprettier and picks up the victory.
Winner: Tyler Breeze (Unprettier)
- EA’s Take: Again, a match that I enjoyed, but the crowd was dead due to it’s placement on the card. This should have opened the show or even been on the Kickoff instead of the first 5 on 5 match. Seems to be the people are only caring about the tournament matches thus far, which isn’t surprising to me. Atlanta isn’t exactly known for it’s passion when it comes to sports.

Chris King Looks Back at WWE Clash In The Castle 2022
With WWE Clash In Italy fast approaching, Chris King looks back at the first Clash In The Castle!
With WWE Clash In Italy fast approaching, Chris King looks back at the first Clash In The Castle!
We are a few weeks away from WWE Clash In Italy PLE, which airs on May 31st. Chris King has gone back to look at the 2022 Clash At The Castle PLE and the matches with the most important future implications.
Alexa Bliss, Asuka, and Bianca Belair vs. Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky
All six superstars started the match in front of this wild UK crowd. The babyfaces took advantage early with a triple suplex, and Bianca Bel-Air hit her patented springboard moonsault and covered Bayley, Iyo Sky, and Dakota Kai for a near fall. Alexa Bliss and Sky got the match going with some fast-paced offense. Bliss hit their Glitz Flip, and Sky tagged in the leader of Damage Control. Despite the crowd chanting for Bayley, “I wanna know, will you be my girl?” the methodical heel would purposely tag out for most of this match.
Bliss hit a beautiful sunset flip powerbomb and covered Sky, but Kai was the legal participant, so she ate a huge kick. Asuka and Sky now went toe-to-toe with some incredibly fast-paced action (I can’t wait to watch their match at Backlash); these two have insane chemistry. The crowd wanted the Raw Women’s Champion and Bayley tagged in. The EST is showcasing her raw power over all of Damage Control. The babyfaces looked to rally after a superplex off of Belair’s back. The heels took advantage of the numbers game; Kai hit her signature Kaio Kick, Bayley delivered Rose Plant, and Sky hit her picture-perfect moonsault. Bayley got the huge victory for Damage Control!
- This was a breakout performance for the new dangerous trio “Damage Control.” Bayley was such a genius changing the theme music so the crowd couldn’t sing it. That’s Heel 101. Bayley tagging out and not giving the UK crowd what they wanted was brilliant.
- Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky would run roughshod on SmackDown for the entire year with some amazing performances, including headlining WarGames. The Damage Control storyline would continue through the next two years, and Bayley would ultimately win the Women’s
Championship from Iyo Sky at WrestleMania 40.
Gunther VS. Sheamus (Intercontinental Championship)
Ludwig Kaiser introduced Giovanni Vinci, bringing back together Imperium as ‘The Ring General’ made his way down to the ring. The bell rang, and the punishment began as Sheamus’s chest was already red. Gunter chopped ‘The Celtic Warrior’ right off the turnbuckle to the outside. The challenger was writhing in pain as Gunther locked in a Boston Crab.
Sheamus was fighting for his life to become a grand-slam champion here, taking all of the champions’ brutality. Gunther delivered a nasty bodyslam to Sheamus on the outside. The Celtic Warrior was finally able to deliver The 10 Beats of the Bodhran for a count of twelve.
Midway through the match, both the champion and the challenger got into a slugfest, and Sheamus hit a loud knee strike for a two-count! Sheamus delivered White Noise for another near-fall. The entire UK crowd was on their feet as the Brogue Kick was countered;
Gunther hit his patented dropkick into the corner. Sheamus lifted Gunther up for the Celtic Cross from the turnbuckle for a count of 2.99! The Celtic Warrior tried to go for the brogue kick, but his back gave out. The Intercontinental Champion delivered a powerbomb followed by a colossal lariat to retain his prestigious title.
Sheamus got a standing ovation from the raucous UK crowd despite his loss. He may not have won the intercontinental title, but he won their respect!
- Both Brutes stood in the middle of the ring, staring at each other without throwing a punch as their faction members fought to solidify a singles match with no interference. That was so brilliant and creative to see. As soon as the match got underway, both superstars beat the holy hell of each other for 20+ minutes.
- ‘The Ring General’ would have the longest reign of 666 days in WWE history as Intercontinental Champion, defeating the likes of Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, and Chad Gable. He would eventually lose to Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 40, but Gunther has the bar so high with such an amazing reign.
Edge & Rey Mysterio VS. The Judgement Day
Finn Balor and Rey Mysterio started the tag team match with some hard chops in the corner. Mysterio bounced back with some head-scissors takedown, and Damien Priest tagged in and clocked Edge with a nasty right hand. ‘The Rated-R Superstar was all fired up with some quick offense, sending Mysterio onto both JD members on the outside.
Priest and Balor utilized the numbers game to take out their opponents with a leg drop and some double-team maneuvers. Mysterio had taken a lot of punishment and wanted to make the tag to Edge, but Priest prevented the tag with a big boot.
The former leader of the JD came in firing on all cylinders, hitting some clotheslines and nailing Balor with an Edgecution. The UK crowd was going wild for Edge as he delivered his tag-partner’s signature 619, followed by a splash from Mysterio for a near-fall.
Edge intercepted a chokeslam attempt on Mysterio with a spear to the outside! Dominik interfered to help his dad hit a sunset flip powerbomb, and Rhea Ripley made him pay. Mysterio and Edge ensured the victory with a 619 and a picture-perfect Spear!
Following the match, Dominik would low-blow Edge and take his father’s head off with a wicked clothesline. This was the last time he was side-by-side with his father for the foreseeable future in WWE.
- Edge was trying to get comeuppance on the faction he helped create and was kicked out of. The Judgment Day had been targeting and terrorizing Rey’s son Dominik for months now, who was at ringside. ‘The Rated-R Superstar would ultimately get his revenge on JD at WrestleMania 39, when he faced “The Demon” Finn Balor inside Hell in a Cell.
- This was the birth of Dirty Dom, after being jealous of his dad choosing Edge as his tag partner instead of him. After the match, Dominik gave Edge a low blow and clotheslined his dad’s head off to a loud cheer from
the crowd. His heel turn has been the greatest creative decision in his young career.
- Dirty Dom is a two-time Intercontinental Champion, two-time NXT North American Champion, and current AAA Mega Champion during his time in The Judgment Day, and he’s one step away from becoming world heavyweight champion.
Roman Reigns VS. Drew McIntrye (WWE Undisputed Universal Championship)
The always overconfident and arrogant undisputed champion and his challenger locked up with the power of one-upmanship. Reigns had been trash-talking his opponent, and McIntyre made his rival back away. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion looks shook because of this insane UK crowd.
The champion answered back with some heavy right hands to his challenger. Reigns looks scared as McIntrye has his way with the champion. Karrion Kross and Scarlet provided a distraction, which allowed Reigns to take advantage. The confident champion now is slowing down the match with explosive, powerful offense like we’ve seen throughout his title reign thus far.
Reigns delivered a big boot, and his challenger kicked out at one! The champion mocked and trash-talked McIntrye and delivered some nasty punches. Both superstars tried to deliver suplexes to each other but to no avail. Reigns then grabbed the mic for Cardiff to acknowledge their Tribal Chief, and The Scottish Warrior hit a Glasgow Kiss to the champion. McIntyre fired up and delivered his patented belly-to-belly throws. The challenger wanted a Claymore Kick as Reigns left the ring. A spinebuster into a jackknife pinfall gave McIntrye a near-fall.
The champion intercepted a Claymore Kick with a devastating Superman Punch for a two-count. The champion locked in the guillotine choke hold in an attempt to get McIntrye to submit. The challenger speared the champion through the barricade. Reigns again intercepted a Claymore Kick with another spear for a 2.99!
McIntyre clocked Reigns with a Claymore Kick to the back of the head and into the referee, Charles Robinson. Austin Theory then made an attempt to cash in his MITB, but Tyson Fury knocked his lights out from the crowd. Back in the ring, the champion has a chair and ate a Claymore Kick for yet another near-fall!
A slugfest ensued between both superstars, followed by a blitz of offense, a headbutt, a spear by the challenger, and a Claymore Kick. McIntyre was one second away from being WWE Undisputed Universal Champion, but Solo Sikoa pulled the referee out before the three-count. Reigns capitalized and delivered a massive spear for the victory!
- ‘The Scottish Warrior’ Drew McIntrye made an amazing entrance, which was highlighted by a storybook video package with his Broken Dreams theme song! The raucous crowd was red-hot for the biggest match of McIntyre’s career since his breakout year in 2020, which was thwarted by Covid. The UK crowd was chanting, “Oh, Drew McIntyre,” before the champion made his entrance.
- Roman Reigns always looks like a million bucks during his elaborate entrance; this time he was all alone. ‘The Tribal Chief’ had his most difficult title defense to date. Drew McIntyre has always been a thorn in Reigns’ side, ever since returning to WWE in 2018. Reigns went on to have a history-making 1,316-day title reign until Cody Rhodes defeated him at WrestleMania 40. The Tribal Chief won this year’s Royal Rumble and won the World Championship from CM Punk in a five-star classic.
- Solo Sikoa made his shocking debut when McIntrye delivered a Claymore Kick and pulled the referee out of the ring to stop the count. The Scottish Warrior has not had the same amount of momentum since the PLE. Yes, he won the world title for about four minutes and was the WWE Undisputed Champion for a month this year, but still, he hasn’t felt like a dangerous threat. Since Sikoa’s debut on the main roster, he’s been the silent enforcer for The Bloodline, the Tribal Chief, and now the leader of the MFTs. He has portrayed a menacing and funny heel at times, and I could see him becoming WWE or World Heavyweight Champion by next year.

Chris King Looks Back: Edge vs Randy Orton in the “Greatest Wrestling Match Ever”
Chris King takes a look at the memorable WWE Backlash 2020 “Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” featuring Edge and Randy Orton!
Chris King takes a look at the memorable WWE Backlash 2020 “Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” featuring Edge and Randy Orton!
Edge made his shocking return at the 2020 Royal Rumble and immediately reunited with his former Rated-RKO member Randy Orton. It all seemed like old times as both superstars shared respect with each other. The following night on Monday Night Raw after Orton proclaimed he wanted to get Rated-RKO back together, he hit a vicious RKO and CON-CHAIR-TO on Edge.
‘The Viper’ was in his mind trying to protect his former partner after being out of the business for nine years but, Edge wanted to write his own storybook ending to his career. After Orton took out Edge’s wife Beth Phoenix, both men went to war in a Last Man Standing match at WrestleMania,,, in which Edge was victorious. This did not sit well with The Viper, who had gone back to his sick and sadistic ways. In order to prove who the better wrestler is, WWE announced they would compete in the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever at Backlash.
The production for this match was legendary as both superstars were introduced by Howard Finkel via a Madison Square Garden-esque microphone, which made it feel like a big deal. Even the referee, Charles Robinson, was dressed up with a blue collared dress shirt and bow tie. The iconic match started with Edge attempting trying to outwrestle his opponent, but The Viper outsmarted him at every turn. Edge delivered a kick to Orton on the outside to gain some advantage. ‘The Master Manipulator’ utilized Orton’s weakened shoulder to keep him locked in a headlock, slowing down his opponent’s attack.
Orton tried to hit a superplex on the outside, but Edge hit a flying clothesline, and The Viper started to bleed. It’s been all Edge so far in this match as he locked in a crossface on his friend-turned-rival. Orton turned things around with a nasty modified neckbreaker that sent Edge gasping for air. The Viper kept the punishment going as he slung his opponent into the pixie glass, barricade, announce table, and even the steel steps neck first. The Viper slowed everything down with a stiff sleeper hold, keeping Edge on the mat.
In the third quarter both superstars started pulling out tricks, including the late great Eddie Guerrero’s Three Amigos suplexes. While the assault continued, Orton hit a massive Superplex off the top rope for a solid two-count. The Viper tried to take advantage of his rival’s neck with a super-draping DDT, but Edge countered with an Edge-E-Cution for another two count. After a modified chokehold, Orton hit an Angle Slam to give him some reprieve.
The Viper dumped Edge to the outside and was able to capitalize with his patented draping DDT. The Master Manipulator hit Edge-O-Matic for a near fall. Edge wanted a spear but instead managed to hit Christian, his long-time tag team partner’s, signature move, the Unprettier, for a two count. The Viper bounced back and hit a Pedigree, paying homage to Orton’s former Evolution leader HHH. Edge then hit a Rock Bottom! After several unique pinfall attempts by Edge, The Viper struck with an RKO for a 2.99 count.
The finishing minutes of this classic match saw Orton going for a punt kick, and Edge hit two devastating spears for a solid two count! He went up for a flying attack, and Orton caught his rival into an RKO for yet another near fall. Edge locked in the Anti-Venom submission, but The Viper hit a low blow followed by a vicious Punt for the three-count!
Was this the greatest wrestling match ever… No, not really. This was a solid match, though, as both superstars tried to utilize everything in their playbooks and even some homages to the greats of WWE. I think at this point of COVID, WWE was trying to use any taglines or unique creativity to produce great wrestling content. Edge unfortunately suffered a torn triceps injury that would keep him out of the ring until the 2021 Royal Rumble. The Viper would go on to become WWE Champion once again later that year!
