Chris Jericho Says He’s Having Fun Not Working For Vince, Open To More US Shows
It’s been nearly two weeks now, but the wrestling world is still abuzz after IWGP Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho’s surprise appearance at All In on September 1st when he dressed up as Pentagon Jr. and attacked Kenny Omega.
The appearance naturally led to more talk about the door being more open than ever for Jericho to work for other companies, especially since he said in months past he wouldn’t work in the United States out of respect for Vince McMahon. Of course, ‘Y2J’ has been rumored to eventually work with IMPACT Wrestling, but as for his stance on working any events moving forward, Jericho had the following to say about working the ROH/NJPW G1 Supercard next April on the most recent edition of Busted Open Radio on SiriusXM:
“There is a whole market now for…you know, hardcore wrestling fans or maybe not even hardcore anymore. There’s a whole strain of fans of wrestling that are excited about all of these other options. I mean…you know, I didn’t think there was any chance I’d be doing All In, but at this point in time sure, there’s a chance. If there’s a match that’s presented to me that’s interesting, if I’m free like, why not? Like, I’m really kind of enjoying this free agency and realizing, ‘Why do I have to just keep it in Japan?’. You know, what if I do want to do more stuff at this stage and you know, not really worrying about what anybody thinks. At this point in time, I think for the first time in my career, in 28 years, October 2nd will be 28 years…I’m kind of completely in control and it’s fun. You know?
I really enjoy not having to run my ideas, that I know are gonna work, through a committee of two or three people or having to wait you know, three hours in front of a door to go pitch it to one guy and hope that he likes it. You know, at this point in time we’re all pros and we know what works and what doesn’t work…and if we’re not sure we can ask other guys and kind of work together. But, in WWE when you work there, one again, you gotta go with whatever it is he wants to go with and you know, that’s fine.
When you work for Vince it’s the way it is, but it’s fun to not work for Vince right now and have some of these other ideas that you kind of explore. It’s (inaudible) working for WWE. Which is fine if you’re working there, get ready for it and deal with it, but right now it’s fun not having to deal with that so we’ll have to see. I mean, nobody’s called me, either way to work there or not work there. I’m on tour with Fozzy until mid-December and that’s the end of the Judas Rising Tour. Then you know, we go back to songwriting, back to recording and in that time is usually when I go back to the WWE, but this time maybe there’s other places I’ll go back to other than WWE.”

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
