EA’s Weekly RAW YouTube Report (9/3/18)
As we all know, social media and other outlets have become a huge means of drawing in interaction and viewers for WWE. Most people will point to television ratings like they did during the Monday Night Wars in the late 1990’s, however that can be skewed with so many various means of watching today that do not include cable television.
As you’ve become accustomed to, here is this week’s RAW YouTube Report (2:30 PM EST, 9/5/18):
- *TIE* The Undertaker returns/The Shield attacks Braun, Dolph, Drew – 3.4 million views
- Numerous Superstars leave The Shield laying – 2.5 million views
- The Shield are placed under arrest – 1.5 million views
- Kevin Owens returns to ambush Bobby Lashley – 1.4 million views
- The Bella Twins vs. The Riott Squad – 1.1 million views
- Natalya vs. Alexa Bliss – 776k views
For the second straight week, we see great numbers by returning legends. If you read my RAW and SmackDown Live reports from last week, you already know that I’m not shocked by that and seeing what comes in at number one is no surprise, even if it is a tie. I saw LOTS of complaining about Shawn Michaels and Undertaker being given time on RAW this week, which is just absolutely ludicrous if you ask me. Want to know why they get a spot on the show? Look at the numbers, fools. It didn’t hurt your beloved Shield in the least either, as you can see with ‘The Hounds of Justice’ drawing just fine by coming in at numbers one, two AND three. Just…relax people. Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose will dominate RAW on a weekly basis and any combination of the three have for a long time. Get over it.
Sliding in at number four is the return of Kevin Owens just a week after he “quit” on Monday Night RAW. Personally, I find him coming back this quickly and in this manner to be a disappointment. However, our list this week shows that fans were indeed interested in the angle. I just would have held him off for a little longer and had him do something more important upon coming back. Then again, we don’t quite know where this is going yet, so I’ll reserve blasting it too hard until it’s needed.
Speaking of complaining, number five this week is another return that I saw a lot of pissing and moaning about as The Bella Twins reunited in the ring for the first time in years to defeat The Riott Squad. Similarly to Michaels and Undertaker (chill out until I finish my comparison), The Bellas are “names” that garner interest from people who likely don’t watch WWE weekly anymore. They’re mainstream and any time you can get them on camera, it’s good business. Trust me, I could live without them myself, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t understand it.
Finally, the last spot on the list which I thought might really be a crapshoot, is taken up by Alexa Bliss vs. Natalya. You may wonder how this gets there (even though the numbers aren’t outstanding), yet the answer is simple…Ronda Rousey. The RAW Women’s Champion had minimal involvement, but that’s all it takes to outdraw the likes of an Authors Of Pain squash match, The B-Team losing the RAW Tag Titles and a weird tag match that saw Bobby Roode teaming with Chad Gable.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
