Major League Wrestling’s return to the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, New York for its next set of Fusion television tapings is now less than a week away on October 4th. The show is already stacked with some anticipated matches including a Spin The Wheel Make The Deal match, PCO vs. LA Park, plus Daga will challenge Low Ki for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship.
Now on top of that, MLW has announced that two tag teams will be making their MLW debuts at the event as The Smash N Dash Connection takes on a new version of The Samoan Island Tribe:
The Smash N Dash Connection make tag team debut as Barrington Hughes & Kotto Brazil team-up against the Samoan Island Tribe next Thursday at MLW’s NYC TV tapings
NEW YORK – Major League Wrestling’s tag team division continues to heat up with the formation of the Smash N Dash Connection’s Barrington Hughes and Kotto Brazil as well as the return of a new version of the Samoan Island Tribe. The two teams will square off next Thursday at MLW FURY ROAD: an MLW Fusion TV taping. Tickets start at just $20 at www.MLWtickets.com.
The newly formed Smash N Dash Connection look to send shockwaves through the stacked tag team division, using a combination of size, speed and heart. But they will be facing a big challenge in one of the sport’s greatest wrestling families, the Anoa’is.
Tag team specialists, the Samoan Island Tribe date back to 2003 in MLW and have featured the likes of Samu, Mana and Eki “Umaga” Fatu. The 2018 version features the father and son duo of Samu and Lance Anoa’i.
The “Haitian Sensation” and the “Caramel Colossus” face a BIG challenge in the Samoan Island Tribe. For over 50 years, the Anoa’i family has collected more tag team championships than any other family in the sport.
Will the Smash N Dash Connection demonstrate the critical chemistry needed to triumph over the father and son duo? Find out live next Thursday in Queens! Tickets are on sale now at www.MLWTickets.com.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
