ROH News: ROH World Title Match Now Official For Death Before Dishonor
Ring Of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view is less than two weeks away now from the Orleans Arena in Sin City itself, Las Vegas.
A number of matches for the show, as well as the Death Before Dishonor TV tapings the following night, have already been announced. Today, the promotion’s top title was added to the PPV lineup as Ring Of Honor has officially added Jay Lethal vs. Will Ospreay for the ROH World Championship:
Jay Lethal is among the most decorated champions Ring of Honor has ever seen. Nearly three months into his second reign as Ring of Honor World Champion, Lethal has crossed 500 days across both of his reigns.
In his second reign, Lethal has already had historic defenses against Jonathan Gresham, Flip Gordon, and Mark Haskins, defending the championship on both sides of the Atlantic. Already the longest-reigning ROH World Television Champion of all-time, Lethal sits less than 40 days behind Nigel McGuinness for second-most days all-time as ROH World Champion and under 140 days to catch Samoa Joe for most days all-time.
With over 30 defenses, Lethal has the potential to break the record of most defenses of all-time, as well. But he is not interested coasting into history and has issued an open challenge for the best of the best to face him in Las Vegas at Death Before Dishonor! And a man who won the Ring of Honor World Television Championship in his first ROH match will challenge Lethal for the Championship in his first opportunity at the ROH World Championship!
MAIN EVENT
RING OF HONOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
RING OF HONOR WORLD CHAMPION JAY LETHAL vs. WILL OSPREAY
Will Ospreay made history when he successfully challenged and defeated Bobby Fish for the Ring of Honor World Television Championship in his very first ROH match. The victory capped of a banner year when he became both the youngest-ever and the only British winner ever of the Best of Super Juniors Tournament. Since then, Ospreay has been categorically one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling whether it is Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, in his native UK, Australia, and in other countries!
Ospreay answered Lethal’s open challenge in Philadelphia, in a move that surprised many. But for Lethal, the challenge was not surprising at all. Ospreay’s last match in Ring of Honor was in December 2017 in a losing effort against Jay Lethal. Lethal made a quest of avenging all previous losses before he would challenge again for the ROH World Championship. The parallels to Lethal’s quest are striking and are not lost on either man in this World Championship clash!
Ospreay possesses an array of aerial maneuvers that are difficult for anyone to counter or even anticipate. The variety of his offense has put him in a position to surprise even the most accomplished and well-studied athletes. And the former IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion has his sights set on the biggest prize in ROH!

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
