WWE News: Road Dogg Replies To Fan Criticism Over Becky Lynch’s Booking
Since SummerSlam on August 19th, the booking of WWE Superstar Becky Lynch has remained a hot topic among the WWE Universe.
Of course, we all know Becky turned on Charlotte Flair after losing a Triple Threat for the SmackDown Women’s Title and ever since, many fans have been displeased with the WWE’s attempt at positioning ‘The Lass Kicker’ as a heel. One man who has always gotten the majority of grief or praise for SmackDown Live’s angles is Brian James (Road Dogg), a lead writer for the blue brand.
This week on Twitter, James responded to a number of fan comments regarding Becky’s booking:
Pick a side. That’s what I’m asking you to do, pick a side!!!

We’re listening, what would you have us do? She’s in the best women’s story, arguably the best story going today? What else can we do?
— Brian G. James (@WWERoadDogg) September 13, 2018
I don’t see her as a heel. I just see her as a Bad A$$ but I guess we see things differently
— Brian G. James (@WWERoadDogg) September 13, 2018
Also, “pops” aren’t what I’m shooting for mate but I get what you’re saying.
— Brian G. James (@WWERoadDogg) September 13, 2018
Well, it’s nice to get “a pop” but pops don’t pay the bills

EA’s Take: I mean…the guy isn’t wrong. I’ve found the crowd “rebellion” for lack of a better term to be just one of many absurdities when it comes to wrestling fans. We get it, you love Becky and you’re a fan of her, but that’s why you can’t see both sides of the spectrum. I hate to break it to people, but Becky had not been interesting for a long while and now, bam! She attacks Charlotte Flair and is instantly hotter than she’s ever been as a character, gets better reactions than she ever has. It’s not a coincidence that all happened at the same time. To me, it doesn’t matter if a character becomes successful as a heel, babyface, tweener, whatever. Success isn’t specifically exclusive to being a babyface so I don’t understand why people can’t just be happy that she’s in a prime spot. That’s what you should do if you REALLY support her.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
