MLW News: Joey Ryan & Swoggle Teaming Up At Fightland In Chicago
Major League Wrestling is just over two weeks away from their big debut in Chicago, as they journey to Cicero Stadium on November 8th for their Fusion television tapings entitled Fightland.
To this point, we already know Shane Strickland will get his rematch for the MLW World Title against Low Ki at the event, plus LA Park and El Hijo de LA Park will challenge Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix for the MLW World Tag Titles. This is an addition to the more recently announced No Disqualification battle that will pit PCO against Brody King, as well as the debut of CMLL star Rush as he goes one-on-one with Sammy Guevara.
Today, MLW has revealed that one of the independent scene’s unusual tandems comes together for Fightland:
JOEY RYAN & SWOGGLE FORM “SIZE MATTERS” TAG TEAM; MAKE THEIR MLW TAG DEBUT IN CHICAGO AGAINST THE DIRTY BLONDES NOVEMBER 8
CHICAGO – What happens when the King of Dong Style teams with the King of Small Style? Fans will find out at MLW’s FIGHTLAND on November 8th in Chicago at Cicero Stadium when Joey Ryan and Swoggle team-up to form “Size Matters” against the Dirty Blondes. The November 8th card is an MLW FUSION TV taping for beIN SPORTS.
The sport’s sleaziest grappler will team with 4’5” of defiance as they plunge into a tag team division so big it’s bulging with competition. This marks their first tag team encounter in MLW where they will take on the veteran team of Michael Patrick and Leo Brien, collectively known as the Dirty Blondes.
The Blondes have had a tumultuous 2018 with highlights including competing for the World Tag Team Championship this past June as well as being part of Colonel Parker’s Stud Stable. However, the Stud Stable has recently had its challenges with the firing of key members. Now the Blondes look to cement their position in the Stud Stable as well as the tag team division with a victory over Size Matters.
The new team Size Matters is as unorthodox as it gets. From lollipops to biting butts, Joey Ryan and Swoggle may just be the right mix of unpredictable elements to create a winning formula.
Will Size Matters prove just that in Chicago on November 8th or will the Dirty Blondes go to the pay window? Find out LIVE in Chicago at MLW: FIGHTLAND November 8th.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
