MLW News: MLW Announces Battle Riot II For NYC Return In 2019
As noted, Major League Wrestling was back at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, New York last night for Fury Road, which doubled as an MLW Fusion television taping for beIN Sports (go here for spoilers).
During the event, the promotion announced it would be returning to the venue next April when it presents Battle Riot II. The first Battle Riot also took place at the Melrose Ballroom back at the end of July. Here is MLW’s official announcement for Battle Riot II:

NEW YORK – Major League Wrestling (“MLW”) announced today that the league has added a second night to its return to New York City in April 2019 with a Friday April 5th card and TV taping at the Melrose Ballroom featuring the return of the 40-wrestler BATTLE RIOT®.
MLW: BATTLE RIOT II joins the already announced Thursday April 4th FUSION TV taping event, which also takes place at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, NYC. Both are MLW FUSION TV tapings.
Tickets go on sale for both events 10/10 at 10 a.m. at www.MLWTickets.com. Tickets start at just $20.

“We don’t price gauge. This is a big weekend for wrestling fans and we want them to enjoy it all,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “You won’t just get 2 great nights of MLW but you’ll get a great deal that allows you to come out to MLW while not breaking the bank for the rest of your weekend.”
While the Friday night card will now feature the 40-wrestler Battle Riot® as its main event, speculation continues to grow over what or who will headline the April 4th card.
“All I can say is… this is going to be a BIG one. How big? I’ve been working on this one for months. You won’t see this main event anywhere else anytime soon,” said Bauer.
Minutes from the center of Manhattan, the Melrose Ballroom is easily accessible by subway, car or bus.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
