After the shocking announcement last Monday night on RAW by Roman Reigns, the WWE was left with a void at the top not only with Reigns’ absence on the roster, but the Universal Championship.

Of course, we learned that Friday’s Universal Title Match at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia is no longer a Triple Threat and now will see Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar to give the WWE Universe a new champion. However, now that ‘The Monster Among Men’ has broken ties with former allies Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre, followed by the actions of ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ when he dropped Braun again with a Claymore Kick last week, some fans have wondered if Drew could be added to the match. Currently, Ziggler is scheduled to take part in the World Cup tournament at Crown Jewel, thus leaving McIntyre free.

According to PWInsider, there has been a pitch within the last week to add McIntyre to the Universal Championship Match at Crown Jewel and make it a Triple Threat once again. However, it’s not known at this time if WWE is going to pull the trigger on such a move.

EA’s Take: I would love to see this and I don’t think I’m alone in that sentiment. We’ve seen Braun vs. Brock before and McIntyre would be a welcome addition, then could continue on the rivalry with Strowman from there. The only problem is, Crown Jewel isn’t about what we want to see, but what was basically requested by Saudi Arabia. Although, if changes need to be made WWE can just make them, like the reported swap of John Cena from the World Cup.
