EA’s Weekly RAW YouTube Report (11/12/18)
A look at the YouTube performance for this week’s WWE RAW!
As we all know, social media and other outlets have become a huge means of drawing in interaction and viewers for WWE. Most people will point to television ratings like they did during the Monday Night Wars in the late 1990’s, however that can be skewed with so many various means of watching today that do not include cable television.
As you’ve become accustomed to, here is this week’s RAW YouTube Report (2:30 PM EST, 11/14/18):
- Becky Lynch leads a SmackDown Live invasion – 4.8 million views
- Ronda Rousey sends Baron Corbin for a ride – 2.3 million views
- Dean Ambrose burns his Shield gear – 2.2 million views
- Jinder Mahal & The Singh Brothers feel Brock Lesnar’s wrath – 1.3 million views
- Alexa Bliss reveals the RAW Women’s Survivor Series team – 624k views
- Sasha Banks vs. Bayley for a spot at Survivor Series – 539k views
- Finn Balor interrupts Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler – 512k views
What did I say? WHAT DID I SAY? When you put Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey in the same place at the same time, it will be money and our number one spot proves that. RAW’s main event segment was one of the best on the program in weeks, spearheaded by Becky Lynch attacking Rousey backstage before the brawl spilled into the arena and turned into an all out, brand vs. brand battle. You had a hot segment, SmackDown’s hottest star, RAW’s most mainstream star, SmackDown’s hottest star getting injured, a massive brawl…what more do you need for a stew of YouTube goodness? Nothing.
While we also see Ronda Rousey occupying the second spot this week, number three misses out on that position by a mere 100k views as Dean Ambrose put The Shield behind him seemingly for good by burning his gear. I know they’ve been meeting at Live Events, but even a guy like me who had become beyond tired of Ambrose long before his injury has to admit that I’m looking forward them facing off. We’ve seen it numerous times in the past, but the dynamic was much different and I’ve found this to be RAW’s most intriguing angle lately.
“Nobody wants to see Brock Lesnar” is what I see a lot of, but our number four spot this week is more proof of the contrary. Just think about this…Brock Lesnar pulled over a million views with…wait for it…Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers. I mean, come on now. The defense rests.
Numbers 5-7 all fall well under a million views, numbers five and six revolving around the Women’s Survivor Series Elimination Match on Sunday. I really dig how Alexa’s been used recently, the company keeping her involved even if she can’t compete right now. If I’m WWE, I’d have made Paige the team captain for SmackDown Live and tease her getting hands on Alexa. We all know the match could never happen due to Paige’s health, but it would make for something extra on top of the action in the ring because honestly, does it matter who wins the match?

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
