EA’s Weekly RAW YouTube Report (11/19/18)
A look at the YouTube performance for this week’s WWE RAW!
As we all know, social media and other outlets have become a huge means of drawing in interaction and viewers for WWE. Most people will point to television ratings like they did during the Monday Night Wars in the late 1990’s, however that can be skewed with so many various means of watching today that do not include cable television.
As you’ve become accustomed to, here is this week’s RAW YouTube Report (2:30 PM EST, 11/21/18):
- Dean Ambrose attacks Seth Rollins – 2.3 million views
- Ronda Rousey demands someone come out for a fight – 1.5 million views
- Braun Strowman injured during the 6-Man Elimination Match – 1.2 million views
- Ronda Rousey vs. Mickie James – 1 million views
- Stephanie McMahon announces Braun vs. Corbin at TLC – 967k views
- Seth Rollins wants a fight with Dean Ambrose – 422k views
- Bobby Roode & Chad Gable ruin Drake Maverick’s day – 360k views
After last week’s RAW YouTube Report saw SmackDown Live’s appearance on the show take the number one spot, this week the falling out of The Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose takes the cake with over two million views. Admittedly, this surprises me a little bit, but the build to another Ambrose attack has been going on for a couple of weeks now. I didn’t think they would surpass Ronda after falling behind her last week. We see these guys again at number six in a “best of the rest” clip, as Seth pretty well would chase Dean around the arena until the main event segment.
Coming in at number two for the second week in a row is the aforementioned Rousey, dropping quite a bit from last week where she tossed Baron Corbin around. I will forever find it weird that fans seem to go against Superstars merely because the company likes them, such as Ronda. Regardless, nobody can dispute the fact that she draws as evidenced by two clips hitting the million mark in our top seven. Not to mention WWE gave her a huge spot in the show this week, occupying the segment during halftime of Monday Night Football in an effort to try and gain some of those viewers. Doesn’t sound like it, but on a week that Monday Night Football drew ridiculous numbers, that’s a crucial spot.
The other big storyline of the evening on Monday slides into the third and fourth spots, as Braun Strowman has been written off of television to have surgery on his arm (read about that here). I still see a lot of stuff like “Braun’s not ready” or “Braun’s too limited to be the top guy”, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Whether you want to believe it or not, the absolute last thing you need to be in order to become the top guy in WWE is a “good wrestler”. It literally matters zero. ‘The Monster Among Men’ has the look, commands a crowd, can talk on the mic (debate me, you’ll lose) and can have a match that’s good enough.
Finishing up our rankings this week is another “best of the rest” clip, as ‘Polly Pissy Pants’ himself, Drake Maverick, gets needled by Chad Gable and Bobby Roode which ultimately leads to a match against AOP. Remember when people thought it was fantastic that Drake (then known as Rockstar Spud) lost a match to Matt Hardy’s toddler son in IMPACT Wrestling? I find it very ironic those same people rip on how “childish” that was at Survivor Series. Had it happened inside of your local VFW in front of 40 people, I guarantee you would have thought it was pure gold.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
