A new report has revealed what this weekend’s big NXT UK announcement could be!

This weekend, the WWE’s NXT UK brand will be in Liverpool, England for two more sets of television tapings on Saturday and Sunday at Liverpool Olympia.

Recently, the company has been running multiple episodes on Wednesdays in an effort to catch up with all the television tapings that have taken place over the past month and with a big announcement regarding the brand being teased for this weekend, some have been of the opinion that will be the reveal of the brand’s first NXT UK TakeOver event.

Earlier today, we noted how there was talk of WWE running NXT UK TakeOver shows in 2019 (find more on that here), however it looks like that will not be what this weekend’s announcement is. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s expected that the company will announce its plans for a Performance Center in the United Kingdom, something that’s already been said in the past is a goal for WWE across the globe. At this time, no other details on a new Performance Center are known.

EA’s Take: This would make a lot of sense as it’s the logical next step for WWE in the United Kingdom. Building that base like a Performance Center will give you should arguably have been the first step towards the creation of NXT UK. This was a new ballgamefor WWE though and therefore was the “guinea pig” to see if it would work. So things were done in a little bit of a backwards order, in my opinion.
