Andrew’s JCW Lunacy Results & Match Ratings: Ep #82

Big Al is looking for answers from Strangle-mania, Choppa City has to pay for snatching the belts and these zombies need rehab!

Published

on

Vince Russo bought Shane Mercer and Matt Cross’ cooperation, Kerry Morton had to go through Jeeves for a shot at EC3 and Luigi Primo lost to a Narcoleptic Backslide. We also see that Vito’s nephew Sal, is a complete moron, so Vito is floundering for any way to gain some momentum. Also, Choppa City ended up losing the match, but stole the tag titles. While I can say their tag division is the weakest aspect of their show, this finally makes it interesting.

Now lets see what kind of craziness goes down with the clowns!

Ratings:

  • Luigi Primo Super Villain Professor Mike vs Green Phantom: Mike wins via 505 – *
  • The Outbreak w/Barnabas the Bizarre vs Future Endeavors (Shane Mercer & Matt Cross): Future Endeavors wins via Count Out – ***
  • J-Rod Special Guest Referee: “Big Al” Alice Crowley vs Dani Mo: Al wins via Brass Knuckles to the Dome – ** 1/2
  • Brothers of Funstruction vs PCO & Steven Flowe w/Ring Rat: Brothers win via DQ? – * 3/4

Results:

Willie and Tony attack Choppa City in the back patio area. They work them over with signs, weapons, put them both on dollies and crash them into each other. Tony flips them onto the floor, and the rightful tag champs take their titles back. Choppa City got dog walked and got punked out a bit.

We then get a backstage segment where Caleb walks up to Violent J to let him know Vince isn’t here, but he’s been told to be his assistant. J smells something fishy, but then Green Phantom walks in like a doofus and asks for another chance. So J makes a match against the Luigi that is win or go home.

Luigi Primo Super Villain Professor Mike vs Green Phantom

Luigi is attacked pre-match by Moshpit Mike with another gimmick. The Super Villain, Professor Mike. Mike offers an alliance.

Mike kicks Phantom in the nuts, rolls him up but Phantom Kicks out. Mike tries to charge, but Phantom hits a Big Boot, into a stomp and then over exaggerated chops. Goes for the Phantasm, but Mike counters it and hits an Atomic Elbow. Mike perches, but Phantom hits 10 Count Punches and then the Phantasm, but Mike kicks out!

Mike pulls out a potion as Luigi distracts the Phantom. Pizza Punch accidentally hits Phantom when Luigi tries to help, but then Mike with the 505 and Phantom loses. He’s gone I suppose.

We get a Father Bronson video package, seems like he’s taking shots at Facade, ninja jokes from Vanilla Ice, the white woman singing the “I Wanna Be Ninja” song, and just trippy and cool stuff. I enjoy Bronson’s gimmick, and him versus Facade will be awesome when it happens.

Barnabas comes to Violent J and begs to have someone beat the drugs out of The Outbreak. He asks for a match against Future Endeavors, but J refuses to interact with Matt Cross, so Barnabas feels betrayed as he walks out completely beside himself.

EC3 runs down WWE, AEW (All Elite Deficit Disorder is a good one) and NWA, but he clarifies that the NWA failure is on leadership and not the talent. As I said last week, EC3 unscripted and unhinged reminds me of his first TNA run. EC3 gives the juggalos a Whoop Whoop and a big FUUUCK, the fans are digging EC3.

Barnabas finds Caleb in the bathroom as The Outbreak are sniffing urinal cakes. He begs for someone to beat the addiction out of the zombies. Caleb leaves to see if he can do something. I’m enjoying how there’s always a story thread in a show to move things along and seem like a real sequence of events instead of only hollow interviews or vignettes.

The Outbreak w/Barnabas the Bizarre vs Future Endeavors (Shane Mercer & Matt Cross)

Caleb actually made good and now we get to see Shane and Cross in action with their new Vince Russo created team. Shane Mercer walks out, tells Barnabas “Wish granted”.

Cross and Shane beat on the zombies, Shane and Jackson eventually become the two starters, Belly to Belly Toss from Mercer, Jackson with the Up and Over, he gets a few shots in, tries to fly again but gets caught, Bucklebomb combo with Cross throwing a Kick, then an X-Plex lets Shane tag out and Cross comes in to keep up the punishment. Manhattan Drop, Zombie Balls in pain, Jacknife Pin for a two count, before another tag brings Shane Mercer back in to continue to beat the hell out of Jackson . He presses him over his head and then drops him. Jackson continues to stay isolated through multiple tags and just Cross and Mercer destroying the zombie.

Stinger Splash from Cross, into an Irish Whip to Shane, Sack of Shit and Cross with a standing Moonsault for the two count. Hard Irish Whip from Cross, Jackson continues to get thrown from corner to corner until Jackson no sells the third one, Discus Lariat and simultaneous tags! Abel flies into Cross and Shane, Abel runs the ropes but gets grabbed by Shane, Jackson Dropkicks into them. They try a Double Stack pinfall but Shane gets out. They got for a tandem spot but Shane holds on to them, slams them together and Double Straight Jacket Tear Drop Suplex. Cross and Shane have a good tandem spot, Cross with the Mushroom Stops into the Moonsault and Battery! Jackson pulls out Abel, and the zombies wander into the crowd to grab beers from fans. They get counted out because they’re looking for more alcohol.

Damn, that was actually really good stuff from Cross and Mercer.

Caleb gets yelled at by Violent J for making the match, he apologizes. But once J leaves, J-Rod shows up and asks Caleb if she can be the guest referee for the Dani and Big Al match, Caleb says yes. He starts snickering afterwards because he knows the chaos he’s causing, but he’s right, it is awesome, and I support any and all excuses to see more J-Rod.

J-Rod Special Guest Referee: “Big Al” Alice Crowley vs Dani Mo

Big Al demands answers first, but J-Rod’s music hits to cut off an answer and she walks out, looking…amazing. Aesthetically this match is very Whoop Whoop.

Al and Dani collide on Shoulder Tackles, Al uses Dani’s hair to drop her, then rolls her over with another Shoulder Tackle, back to back Scoop Slams, but only a two count. Count was a little slow but not bad. Rolling Codebreaker from Al, for another two count. Dani counters Al’s next attempt, brains her in the buckles, then Dani chokes Al against the ropes and J-Rod continues with the lackadaisical but not bad refereeing. Dani has the Headlock, Al Elbows Out but eats a Round Kick to the chest.

Dani confronts J-Rod on the count speed, but Al is getting throw around and chopped repeatedly. Dani Forearm, Back Elbow and Roundhouse Kick rocks Al! Michinoku Driver is only a two count. Dani wanted the Twist but Al fires, a strike combo into a Saito Suplex, Air Raid Crash and … two count. The crowd is chanting “This ref sucks”, but J-Rod tries a cheapshot with Brass Knuckles, Al ducks it, uses the knuckles on J-Rod and then on Dani. Al grabs the downed J-Rod’s hand and counts 3, Big Al walks out victorious.

Violent J says he’s creating a Special Challenge for Caleb. For the next four weeks Caleb will have to face a wrestler of his choosing, all of which are from outside of JCW. We then cut to Mac Davis calling over Barnabas because the zombies are siphoning gas from people’s tanks.

Blast from the Past: Sabu w/Charlie Brown vs 2 Tuff Tony – JCW Up In Smoke – 4/20/2011

Brothers of Funstruction vs PCO & Steven Flowe w/Ring Rat

Yabo and the rubber chicken start against Steven. They posture to the crowd, then Steven grabs the chicken, chokes it and Yabo slaps him with his tie, gives him a Noogie, Double Clown Shoes to the face, tandem hurdle into a Dropkick before Ruffo hits combo punches on Steven. Ruffo calls for the Hulk Hand, PCO approaches, he no sells the Hulk Hand but Yabo and Ruffo start to double team PCO and he finally starts selling.

The clowns blow up balloons, Steve smacks one away but eats another balloon to the jaw. PCO with the Double Lariat and looks to play good tag team member. Steven doesn’t tag out, removes the flannel and hits Ruffo with the Whammy Bar. Steven tags out to Frankenstein. A corner squisher into a DDT. Falling Headbutt into a Leg Drop, before PCO splits the goal posts and stomps on the solar plexus. Ruffo gets away to Yabo, Double Team clown stuff. Big Boot/Flatliner combo, Steven throws himself Stage Dive style at the clowns and they crash down. Ring Rat hands Steve the guitar and he’s looking to use it.

PCO leaves, CoKane shows up to take the guitar away and Steven goes up the ramp to follow but CoKane clocks Steven and the fight to the back. Vito shows up with a Kendo Stick and starts beating on the brothers while they were confused what the heck was going on. Vito breaks the Kendo Stick across Ruffo’s face and we end with a pretty long beatdown from Vito. Vito drags Ruffo into the back! They throw Ruffo into the back of a car and drive off as the episode ends.

Overall Score: 6.5/10

So as we should all be aware of, a company that started off being known as Juggalo Championshit Wrestling, we aren’t going to expect pure wrestling classics. But if we go down the show, it was still pretty solid. The Green Phatom shtick has gotten old, so hopefully he’s truly gone or they stop with this silly convention cosplay level of crap. It had charm the first few weeks, but the joke is getting stale. Caleb stirring shit all show was a great thread, Barnabas being desperate and getting run all over the venue to stop The Outbreak from doing drugs, drinking beer, sniffing urinal cakes and siphoning gas tanks was solid B movie comedy.

Father Bronson’s video package is interesting, I’d like to see more stuff from him. Anytime J-Rod is on the show is a blessing. So her general involvement is something I will always approve of and EC3 is so much more entertaining here than he has been in the last like 7 years. Let’s also not overlook the fact we got a really solid tag match. A real finish would’ve been nice, but the wandering off Count Out works well for the drug addled story and Future Endeavors looked like complete killers. I won’t be able to defend them not getting a run as tag champs, unless the team dissolves for story reasons before they get the shot.

Still, really solid and entertaining show. Whenever the show feels easy to watch and you’re not counting minutes, that’s quality entertainment…even if it’s a car crash like Jersey Shore.

Andrew’s JCW Lunacy Results & Match Ratings: Ep. # 81

Russo booking is refreshing in 2026? Go figure, it just took 30 years to tip the scales in his favor, bro.

Published

on

Matt Cross is back and still after Caleb Konley, Father Bronson had a pretty impressive debut and EC3 declares he’s here to save JCW from Russo booking.

It was a fun episode with some decent wrestling, and apparently we’ve got Big Vito’s nephew heading in. There’s also the matter of Big Al needing answers from Dani Mo, but let’s find out what the clowns got for us this week!

Ratings:

  • Beekeeper Mike vs The Green Phantom: Mike wins via Roll-up – * 1/2
  • Kerry Morton vs  Jeeves w/EC3: Kerry wins via Kiss it Goodbye – ** 1/4
  • Forty Winks vs Luigi Primo: Forty wins via Narcoleptic Backslide – *
  • JCW Tag Team Championship: 2 Tuff Tony & Willie Mack (c) vs Choppa City: Willie retains via Frog Splash – ** 1/2
  • Nic Nemeth vs Caleb Konley: Caleb wins via Crucifix Pin – *** 1/4

Results:

Beekeeper Mike vs The Green Phantom

Moshpit Mike, is now a Beekeeper. He’s the man of 1000 Gimmicks. Green Phantom isn’t Matt Cross? It was just another Matt Cross cosplay moment?

Mike hits the Schoolboy, but Phantom kicks out, and works over Mike in the corner, Chops, Splash, an Iconoclasm he calls the Phantasm. But it’s not the finish, a few stomps, an elbow, then Phantom poses, but Mike pulls bees out of his pocket and hits Phantom with pocket bees! Mike wins via Roll-up!

Phantom is a solid comedy gimmick so far since he did a few things. We might get a real match eventually…but doubtful.

In a backstage interview, Kerry wants a piece of EC3, but Jeeves says he’s not worth it so he can face him. Kerry isn’t upset with having to go through Jeeves to get to EC3.

Kerry Morton vs Jeeves w/EC3

Kerry isn’t taking this seriously, but Jeeves ducks the tie up, and grabs a Headlock, but Kerry gets out of it, pulls the hair, kicks him a few times, Vertical Suplex and a few Garvin-esque stomps. EC3 being on commentary is actually…wonderful. This reminds me of when he was on TNA commentary during a Norv Fernum match.

Jeeves is getting worked over, and then a Belly to Back Suplex for a cocky cover. Kerry postures to EC3, then just dumps Jeeves off the rope run. Kerry flips off EC3, insinuates he’s skull fucking Jeeves, and then goes to the top. Fans are throwing garbage at Kerry and he’s egging it on, but Kerry just hops off the rope and kicks Jeeves. Classic heel heat.

Jeeves fires up with some Hockey punches, throws him into the corner, Stinger Splash! Jeeves tries another but Kerry hits the Lariat and then kicks the back of Kerry’s knee. Kerry shoves Jeeves into the corner, fakes the 10 Count Punches, but doesn’t give the crowd anything, just lifts the shirt and Chips Jeeves skin on skin. But Jeeves fires again, back to back Lariats, Tornado DDT! Jeeves gets a 2 count! I am loving EC3 on commentary. Jeeves goes for the One Percenter, but Kerry pushes off, hits the Kiss It Goodbye and cocky cover, but 1-2-3.

This was a fun cocky douchebag squash match and EC3 is telling the fans to throw more trash at Kerry, they stare down. Kerry shoves EC3 but Jeeves is back up, Jeeves kicks Kerry in the balls, and EC3 Finger Pokes Kerry to make him fall over like a bitch.

Forty Winks vs Luigi Primo

They tie up, standing switch from Forty but he falls asleep mid Hammerlock. Luigi Pizza Slaps him, and then flings him into the corner and hits a hip attack. But Forty passes out again and then sleepily kicks him off and takes Luigi’s pizza and hits him with it. Starts a Road Dogg style punch combination but falls asleep before the end. Luigi tries to win with a soft style cover, but Forty wakes up in time. Pizza Slice and another two count! Pizza Punch sends Forty into the ropes, Luigi goes to grab him, Forty Winks hits the Backslide and falls asleep but Luigi can’t kick out! Forty Winks wins via Narcoleptic Backslide!

Stupid as shit, but funny.

JCW Tag Team Championship: 2 Tuff Tony & Willie Mack (c) vs Choppa City

Atiba and Tony start, Tony ducks the first tie up and then needs some of his rum. Atiba blocks the swig. Now it’s a test of strength, Tony wins and sends rum into Atiba’s mouth, Atiba tags out, Bruce is in but Tony blocks a Hip Toss, gives Bruce the booze but gets pulled out before he can take his own drink. Double Chops from Choppa City, Willie flies to help out Tony. Tony is still sober, but they Double Back Elbow Bruce, Willie is…trading chops with Bruce even though he’s not really legal, but I guess the referee forgot. Willie hits the Purple Nurple, tags Tony back in, Double Back Drop and Tony is getting his own Chops in on Bruce. Atiba tries to help but gets clocked, however its enough to turn the momentum.

Atiba gets tagged in and a few tandem Chop spots has Choppa City in control. Quick tags are helping Choppa stay in charge but Tony ducks the Chops and hits the Double Clothesline. The Chocolate Juggalo cleans house, Lariats, Sitout Powerbomb, but the near fall is broken up. Choppas turn it around, Tony saves Willie and Tony sends Bruce into Atiba on the ropes, crotching Atiba. Tony hits a Superplex into a Scoop Slam and then Tony hits the Lionsault! Meteorite connects on Atiba! Bruce and Tony brawl out, Willie hits the Frog Splash on Atiba and the champs retain!

For those who don’t know, the Meteorite is when Tony pours the Bacardi on his fist, lights it on fire and punches the guy. Atiba, has an afro so the meteorite set his hair on fire for a moment. Shock value stuff. Choppa City attack the champs after the fact, leave them laying and steal the titles and the rum.

Vince Russo calls out Shane Mercer and Matt Cross. He tells Mercer he’ll raise his salary by 50% and Cross can get a 1 year contract, as long as they work for him. No more attacking Caleb Konley or helping Kerry Morten. He’s calling their tag team, “Future Endeavors”, so they’ll act as the demolition team. They agree, so the power dynamic shifts a little.

Blast from the Past Match: Nigerian Nightmares vs Necro Butcher and Pondo

Nic Nemeth vs Caleb Konley

Titled the “Final Fall”, since their 2 out of 3 falls match was ruined because of interference. So this is the 3rd and decisive fall from the 2 out of 3 falls match since it was 1-1.

As soon as the bell rings, Nic hits the Dropkick, Rude Awakening and Shot to the Heart elbow! Near fall, but nice flash opening. Caleb tries to slow things down with a Headlock, but Nic gets out of it, Caleb tries to kick Nic in the dick, but he catches the foot. Irish Whip, rope run and Back Body Drop from Nic. Caleb tries to retreat and beg off but pulls Nic into the turnbuckles with the jebait. Caleb lands a few strikes, starts choking Nic against the ropes and then taunts to the fans. So Nic tries to fire back, but Caleb chucks him out. Nic regains his breath and dodges Caleb’s Plancha and then starts Chopping and bouncing Caleb’s head off the guardrail outside. Heading back in, Caleb manages to sweep the legs on the apron and send Nic crashing to the floor.

Now Caleb is dog walking Nic around the ring. Rolls him in and he’s being a little too cocky. Nic fires back with punches, but Caleb Whips Nic into the corner chest first, then hits a Senton for a near fall. After a little arguing, Caleb goes to the heel Headlock spot. Nic is wearing down, but the crowd is helping him refire, but Caleb pulls the hair and throws Nic down. Caleb is showboating, tries the Senton again, and Nic gets his knee up. Caleb’s bullshit is costing him the match. Spike DDT from Nemeth, and we get another near fall!

Danger Z-no, Caleb holds the ropes, a little counter play and a Back Fist levels Nic, but only a two count. Caleb goes for the Burning Hammer but Nic fights it off, Backslide, but Caleb rolls  off, FameASSer is countered into a Sitout Powerbomb for two! Atomic Drop but Nic bounces out into a FameASSer for another two count. Sweet Chin, no, but they catch each other with Superkicks. Nic climbs the buckles, looking for something, but Caleb hits the Forward Roll Uppercut, Superplex attempted but Nic blocks, Nic fights off with a Headbutt, Caleb crashes, Elbow from the Sky! But Caleb turns it into a Crucifix cover and steals the 3 count!

Caleb flips off Nic, but Russo shakes Nic’s hand and then flips off the crowd.

Overall Score: 6.25/10

Well we did get one decent match as the main event, but most of the appeal here is the Hardcore TV/Shock TV Russo style of wrestling. It works with the Juggalos and it’s honestly refreshing given how formulaic and sanitized most of the wrestling products are nowadays. Some shows are complete dogwater, but it’s like watching a bad B movie, the ridiculousness and camp of it all, makes it so bad that it’s good.

EC3 really shines when he’s allowed to say whatever sophomoric and unhinged crap comes to his mind. There’s a stark contrast between the current TNA version of EC3 and what we get in JCW. Phantom is dumb, but its still working well enough for me. Luigi however, I feel like that’s gonna get old fast. The dude flips a pizza during the match, he’s never gonna be taken seriously, and one note comedy has a shelf life, but as a fan of Jeff Hardy’s Itchweed persona, I can dig on some narcolepsy. Choppa City didn’t impress me, but they actually made the tag division a little interesting, so that’s a bonus. Then there’s Kerry Morton, he’s…he might be my favorite in JCW. He’s so cocky yet bafoonishly immature and naive that when he gets his comeuppance it actually still resonates like it should.

To cap things off, Russo basically paying his problems to work for him is genius and Caleb stealing a win in a solid match helps to make him look like a credible threat while also maintaining his whimpy shitbag heel persona. So it was a fun show, a little lacking in the JCW star power (Dani, Big Al, J-Rod, CoKane, Facade), but definitely was an easy watch.
