Members of The Elite reportedly turned down how much from WWE?

Now that 2018 is coming to a close, of course arguably the biggest story still is the future of free agents Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks and Hangman Page.

Obviously if you’ve been following along, the rumblings of a new All Elite Wrestling promotion seems to be the likely end game for The Elite, including Kenny Omega who’s deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling runs up in the coming weeks. We’ve already seen a lot of indication of the promotion’s launch, such as Cody and Brandi Rhodes both recently attending a Jacksonville Jaguars game in the owner’s box (son of Jaguars owner Shad Khan is also behind the project.

For those who keep up with the group’s Being The Elite series on YouTube, the most recent episode saw The Young Bucks turn down an offer from “Triple H”, which is said to have actually happened. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, three of the four current free agents within The Elite have turned down WWE and reportedly the offers were quite large.

While it wasn’t specified who turned the offers down, it’s being said that the declined deals were in excess of seven figures (over $1 million).

EA’s Take: We had heard that WWE was going to throw these guys big money and boy did they. Clearly, at least in my book, these are the offers that were given to Cody and The Bucks, I don’t believe Hangman would have gotten one that large, but I’ve been wrong before. While that’s a pretty big offer to turn away, I’ve got to respect that they have this much faith in themselves to get their own thing off the ground. It takes a lot of balls and we all know that’s something these guys aren’t short on.
