DJZ will officially be a free agent tomorrow!

With there being loads of big free agents in the world of professional wrestling and a number of promotions looking to lock down talents as the business overall sees increased health, IMPACT Wrestling is on the verge of losing one longtime talent.

According to WrestleZone, DJZ is no longer under contract to IMPACT Wrestling as of midnight tonight, although it’s unclear if re-signing is on the table or not. Should DJZ be finished with IMPACT, it would mark the end of a seven year run with the promotion that began in the Summer of 2011 while he was known as Zema Ion.

Recently, DJZ has been making a number of other appearances, including for Major League Wrestling, and is also currently the AAW Heritage Champion. While at this time it has not been confirmed, there has been some speculation that MLW could be the front-runner for DJZ’s services. Meanwhile, there have also been rumors he could be interested in remaining unsigned for a period of time to see what other options could arise.

EA’s Take: I would imagine that staying with IMPACT may not be too likely at this point, but of course, never say never. Speaking of “Never Say Never”, that’s a good segue to talk about where I think a good place for him would be and that’s MLW. I haven’t had a chance to see too much of their product, but recently began watching episodes of Fusion on YouTube. It’s different and probably not for the kind of audience WWE looks to add onto its base, but there’s a lot of potential there. DJZ could benefit from a fresh start with a rising company.
