Elias will now meet Bobby Lashley at TLC in a Ladder Match!

Earlier today, it was noted that there could be a change made to one of the matches at WWE’s TLC this Sunday on tonight’s RAW (see that here). With Braun Strowman recently undergoing surgery and talk of a backup plan (find that here), plus Finn Balor’s unexpected early removal from the South American tour this weekend, speculation was not hard to find (for the latest on Balor go here).

While it remains to be seen if Braun Strowman’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match against Baron Corbin or Finn Balor’s match against Drew McIntyre will proceed as planned, as the company could make a last minute change if necessary, we did see a different match get altered on RAW.

Just days before they go one-on-one at TLC, Elias took on Bobby Lashley’s pal Lio Rush in singles competition, but it was also Heath Slater’s first official match as a WWE referee. Unfortunately for Elias, Lashley would return the favor for Lio from last week by smashing Elias’ guitar over his back and because of orders from General Manager Elect Baron Corbin, Slater didn’t call for a disqualification. Instead, Lio would score a big upset win over Elias.

While it was a small victory for Lashley and Rush, later on in the broadcast it was announced that the war will be settled at TLC in a Ladder Match. Hanging above the ring? A guitar.
