WWE News: Preview Tonight’s Episode Of Monday Night RAW (12/17/18)
A preview of tonight’s post-TLC edition of WWE RAW!
Now that WWE closed the book on their 2018 pay-per-views last night with TLC in San Jose (read up on it with Mitchell’s Live Report), tonight the company heads to the home of the NBA’s Kings for RAW at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
Unlike most weeks, fans at the show tonight will not only get to see RAW live, but will also be part of the tapings for next week’s Christmas Eve episode immediately after. But, what’s up for tonight? We’ve already learned that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon will be back on the red brand for the first time since July tonight, as he will “shake things up” (see the announcement here). Plus, after a backstage altercation last night, we found out at TLC that Finn Balor will meet Dolph Ziggler on RAW in singles competition.
Here’s what to expect when RAW hits the airwaves at 8PM EST on the USA Network. As always, you can keep up with all the action with Mitchell’s Live Report also beginning at the start of the show. Join the conversation as well with various members of The Chairshot on Twitter:
- What will Mr. McMahon do to “shake up” RAW?
- Seth Rollins and the WWE Universe are now in the Age Of Ambrose
- Will Ronda Rousey face repercussions from her interference in the SmackDown Women’s Title TLC Match?
- Braun Strowman sets his sights on the Royal Rumble and Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship
- Finn Balor and Dolph Ziggler look to settle their issues when they meet one-on-one
- Which RAW Superstar will be the first to officially enter the Royal Rumble Match?

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
