After NXT’s ‘Curtain Call,’ Could The Undisputed Era Turn Face?
After the events of (and after) Takeover, NXT may be losing three top faces. Could The Undisputed Era fill that void?
After the events of (and after) Takeover, NXT may be losing three top faces. Could The Undisputed Era fill that void?
Saturday night saw an amazing NXT Takeover: Phoenix event, as the WWE yellow brand delivered as it tends to with their signature events. But, long-term, it may be the events AFTER the show that have the biggest impact.
As reported by many sites, after Tommaso Ciampa beat Aleister Black to retain the WWE NXT Championship, the champion celebrated with newly crowned WWE NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano, standing in what appeared to be some sort of unholy unity. It didn’t end there, as after the broadcast ended they were joined by Velveteen Dream (much to the delight of the crowd), Adam Cole (but still no BAY BAY, dammit), and Black himself.
The six finally started pushing and shoving on the stage, but were brought to the back where a bigger brawl would ensue at the Gorilla position. Once Triple H stepped in to break things up (also to the delight of the crowd), the three babyfaces (Aleister Black, Velveteen Dream, and Ricochet) came out to embrace the crowd once more, with each theme playing and all celebrating together despite not having won anything. (God Bless Aleister Black–that statement itself is hilarious–for still selling his leg the entire time.)
The speculation is obvious–it’s easy to expect Velveteen Dream to appear in the Royal Rumble, but it’s equally easy to see Ricochet and Aleister Black in there with him, and all three moving to the main roster.
So let’s assume that it’s true, and that the three biggest faces in NXT are gone for the main roster, or gone after the next set of NXT tapings. Who takes over?
The company is solid on the heel side with Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano. But who can fight them? Matt Riddle is an obvious choice, but he still has work to do and will develop even more. Who else? Well, how about The Undisputed Era!
Led by Adam Cole, and including Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish, The Undisputed Era has been getting a face reaction since their debut, and they would easily be accepted by the fans as faces. They don’t have the size to be a force on the current main roster, but in a few years that may change. They, along with Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, can really anchor NXT as a viable touring brand.
Besides, Adam Cole’s brief run with the North American Championship was hardly an example of what he’s promised as a decade of dominance for UE–he would make a hell of a challenger for Tommaso Ciampa at Takeover: New York (or Brooklyn, or WrestleMania, or whatever they are going to call it).
So I say do it–turn The Undisputed Era face, and change nothing else. We are in an era where faces and heels are more of an alignment and less of an attitude, which makes such great heels like Shayna Baszler and The New Daniel Bryan so rare.
And just for the fun of it, what if you turn ADAM COLE only, and let Bobby Fish take the lead with Undisputed Era?

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
