MLW News: World Tag Team Title Match Added To Superfight In February
Another title match has been added to MLW Superfight!
While a number of wrestling promotions are getting back to work this month as we’re on the eve of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 13 (see the final card here), Ring Of Honor will be back on the road in less than two weeks, plus EVOLVE returns to action, WWE has NXT UK TakeOver, NXT TakeOver and Royal Rumble all on the horizon, Major League Wrestling will be back at it on February 2nd for Superfight.
Already announced for Superfight at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia (also known as the ECW Arena) is a huge main event when Low-Ki defends the MLW World Heavyweight Title against ‘Filthy’ Tom Lawlor. Today, MLW has added another championship bout to the card, announcing that Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix will be challenged for the MLW World Tag Team Titles by two members of The Hart Foundation (see which members recently signed deals with the company):
PHILADELPHIA – Major League Wrestling has signed a match so big it has officially changed the MLW: SUPERFIGHT marquee to a double main event card.
MLW today announced World Tag Team Champions Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fénix (cornered by Konnan) vs. the Hart Foundationfor MLW: SUPERFIGHTat the 2300 Arena. The event is an MLW FUSION TV tapings for beIN SPORTS.
Fans can buy tickets starting at $15 at http://www.MLWgo.com.
The Hart family have been winning championships for 88 years and on Saturday night February 2nd the new era Hart Foundation will have their dance with destiny as they challenge for the World Tag Team Championship in Philadelphia. But can anyone keep up with the most celebrated World Tag Team Champions today in the Lucha Bros.?
Since being crowned the World Tag Team Champions last June, the Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fénix) have defeated every tag team in Major League Wrestling… but one: the Hart Foundation.
Equally impressive are the trio known as the Hart Foundation consisting of Teddy Hart, Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Brian Pillman Jr. Since exploding on the scene last summer, the Hart Foundation have dominated all in their path on the road to a title match.
The bout, originally scheduled for MLW’s December Never Say Never card, was postponed due to Rey Fénix suffering an injury that put him on the injured list for several weeks.
On a collision course since the fall, the media and fans alike have been buzzing about the dream match; a match which will now serve as a double main event bill for MLW’s Philadelphia MLW: SUPERFIGHT card.
The much-anticipated bout marks the first time both teams have squared off against each other in tag team competition. With the Harts representing Canada and the World Tag Team Champions fighting out of Mexico, this international encounter has captured the interest of fans around the world.
“This is a big match,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “Fénix and Penta have practically cleaned out the division while the Hart Foundation have not just dominated but straight up decimated everyone we’ve thrown at them. Philly is in for something special when these four throw down.”
But which two members of the Hart Foundation will wrestle in the title fight? Good question… one the unpredictable trio isn’t disclosing at the moment. Ever the fighting champions, Pentagon and Fénix are unfazed by the unpredictable nature of the Hart Foundation: they just want to prove once and for all they are the true kings of tag team wrestling in the sport.
Will the Hart Foundation bring championship gold back to Calgary, Alberta Canada or will the Lucha Bros. prove unstoppable again in 2019? Find out live Saturday night February 2nd in Philadelphia at the 2300 Arena!

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
