News and notes on some of WWE’s titles!

After much clamoring and requesting from the WWE Universe, we finally got the official announcement that the company would be introducing Women’s Tag Team Championships from Mr. McMahon back on the Christmas Eve episode of Monday Night RAW.

While the when, how and where was not addressed, we do know that we will be seeing them introduced sometime in 2019. We still aren’t sure exactly when, but a new report today discussed what the original plans for introducing the titles were.

According to @BeltFanDan on Twitter (who has been pretty spot on when it comes to anything regarding WWE Title belts), the Women’s Tag Team Titles were supposed to be introduced :

In case you decided not to read the note in the above tweet, reportedly the Women’s Tag Titles were made and delivered to WWE back in the Summer, which an image of leaked out (if you remember, the design was exactly the same as the RAW and SmackDown Tag Titles, but with white straps) that was not received well by fans, thus a new design was ordered.

Additionally, the feud between Bayley and Sasha Banks in the lead-up to SummerSlam was to see them be awarded the new Women’s Tag Titles. Of course if you remember, this rivalry fizzled out with no real payoff and the duo was put back together in weeks to follow.

Also on the subject of titles, in the above tweet, BeltFanDan reports that the RAW and SmackDown Tag Titles will both be seeing a minor change as they will be getting removable side-plates, much like the Universal or WWE Championship.
