Wally Yamaguchi Passes Away
It has been a tough week in the world of wrestling with the passing of King Kong Bundy and The Destroyer. Sadly, former manager of Kai En Tai, Wally Yamaguchi, has passed away at 61 years. Yamaguchi suffered a stroke in 2017, and had been dealing with the complications from said stroke. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.
Jason’s Take
Many of us remember Yamaguchi from his hilarious skits with Val Venis during the attitude era. If you are unaware of what I am talking about, do yourself a favor and check out YouTube or the WWE Network.
Hulk Hogan Addresses WWE Future
Hulk Hogan returned to WWE at the Crown Jewel pay per view last year, and made an appearance on RAW recently after the passing of Mean Gene. Hogan was also part of the recent WrestleMania 36 press conference announcing Tampa as the location for 2020’s show of shows. The Tampa Bay Times caught up with Hogan after the press conference and he discussed his future with the company.
“I’m not really sure,” Hogan admitted.” I can’t wrestle anymore because nine back surgeries, two fake knees, two fake hips. … I’ve had 17 surgeries in the last ten years. I kinda missed the memo on the ‘fake’ part [of wrestling] … Vince [McMahon] has this master plan. And I don’t mind being the hood ornament, and I don’t mind being the Babe Ruth of the promotion, but Vince is putting together a whole new thing. … I still feel like I’m 20 in my head, but my body’s telling me, ‘Easy, brother.’ I’m not sure what the title is, but hopefully really soon I’ll be back and really, really active.”
Jason’s Take
I’ve said it before that I am ok with Hogan being back in WWE and getting a second chance. I don’t have any desire to see him wrestle again, but feel he can play some type of role in WWE.
Luke Harper Returns From Injury
Many stars have been returning the past few weeks from injury and illness. Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, and Mustafa Ali have all made their returns recently. You can now add Luke Harper to that list. At Saturday nights house show in Rochester, NY, Harper returned to defeat Mojo Rawley.
Rochesters own WWE Luke Harper. I really am here with my son. Great father son event (I think). Go Harper pic.twitter.com/QuKvxOMdcy

Jason’s Take
I am writing this before the end of Fastlane, so I have to wonder out loud if Harper will interfere in the Daniel Bryan/Luke Harper match.
Shane Strickland Says Goodbye To The Indies
Indie darling Shane Strickland said goodbye to the fans at Friday night’s DEFY wrestling show. It is heavily rumored that Strickland is on his way to WWE.
All the other wrestlers are out now to thank him. It’s super emotional!!!! pic.twitter.com/FxCBjf1dRP

Jason’s Take
If Strickland is truly headed to WWE, it’ll be an amazing signing for the company.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
