Are you ready for tonight? Here’s one more to make sure you are!

JKJ & Thirteen|10 are back with your NXT Takeover XXV preview and predictions! What will go down on the silver celebration for your favorite WWE brand?

NXT Takeover XXV …… or 25 if you can’t fully grip the Roman numerals thing that is used for this show is upon us and it’s arrived at the perfect time. Fans of Pro Wrestling have this week taken to the socials to complain and moan about the WWE product based on the success of an outstanding debut PPV for AEW last weekend. But this is NXT, this is the baby of Triple H, a man with so much passion for WWE as a whole and this is the first opportunity that he & WWE has to make sure that the fans are talking once again about the world of WWE and rest assured this show WILL blow you away and will achieve what it sets out to do.

We can forgive RAW & SD this week which produced okay TV shows but people had made up their minds way before these shows had aired about not wanting to enjoy It and therefore the string of social media posts and arguments. we must remember that this is post WrestleMania and WWE is this way each and every single year and this is no different. We are hot off the heels of a stellar Money in the Bank PPV and now heading to NXT Takeover XXV which will not disappoint in the slightest. SO what’s left to do other than sit back, relax and enjoy Takeover XXV (or 25).

Takeover XXV Riddle Strong

Matt Riddle vs Roderick Strong

WOW, if we are opening Takeover XXV with this then we can rest assured that this as a pace setter is just going to be insane and fully set the tone for the night as a whole. Who needs it more? Has Roddy fully found a character that can go on a quality singles run in NXT with fans backing him? How ready is Riddle coming from a previous Takeover defeat? this is going to be a cracker of an opener and I’m not going to lie here but as much as I love the King of Bros I am a huge fan of Strong. Personally for me Riddle needs the win more, he is still fresh in NXT and needs momentum, perhaps needing a second bite at Dream’s North American title soon and Strong has a decent story going where a loss would be ok for him as a rivalry with Undisputed Era could still boil up further.

Winner: Matt Riddle

Takeover XXV Dream Breeze

North American Championship: Velveteen Dream (c) vs Tyler Breeze

Its official Tyler Breeze is back in NXT, this is fantastic news and what a way to begin this next run! Potential Match of the night right here as both can tell incredible journeys in the ring. Dream is a fantastic Champion but having him move on the the NXT Championship again would be a bigger a deal for me. Breeze is taking the spot of Dijakovic who has an unfortunate injury but Breeze can steal this spot here, he is a veteran of sorts and a championship win over a huge star in NXT like Dream will make the universe stand and celebrate a huge moment for Tyler.

Winner: Tyler Breeze

Takeover XXV Ladder Match

Ladder Match for Vacant NXT Tag Team Championships: Danny Burch Oney Locan vs The Street Profits vs Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly) vs The Forgotten Sons

Hard Hitters, Fast movers, technical athletes & Power Houses this match has it all! here is an NXT ladder match which will closely compete to some of the best ladder matches in recent history, including the Men’s Money In The Bank & last years NXT Takeover from New Orleans. I have my favourites in this match (its all 4 teams) at Takeover XXV. I genuinely have love and respect for all these teams but who is riding the biggest wave? Forgotten Sons for sure, but Street Profits produced a stand out performance against War Raiders for the NXT titles a few weeks back and that made me realize that their time could be now. Lorcan & Burch just have something missing in respective characters which makes me think that they are the least favourite for this contest and with Ryker ready to swoop in this match as he supports Blake & Cutler then he could be the reason for a huge win for the Sons. This really could go any which way and I’m very excited to see it play out. this is going to be a 25 minute jaw wide open contest!!

Winners: Street Profits

Takeover XXV Baszler Shirai

NXT Women’s Championship: Shayna Baszler (c) vs Io Shirai

Shayna has dominated everyone, especially in singles competition but this is the match that I truly believe she is in most danger of dropping the gold. Io is riding a wave and the fan support is going to be intense for Io to pick up the gold. I really believe that this could be similar to Shayna’s loss to Kairi but with more intensity from Shirai and much more harder looking counters. Watch this space tonight as this is going to be incredible. Watch out again for Marina Shafir & Jessamyn Duke to get involved but I think the Women’s locker room can put a stop to that for once and this time allowing Io to become champion!

Winner: Io Shirai

Takeover XXV Gargano Cole

NXT Championship: Johnny Gargano (c) vs Adam Cole (BAY BAY)

Can this really follow that instant classic 2 out of 3 falls from 8 weeks ago? yYur damn right it can and it will! Why and how you ask? Simple……. that final fall from the previous match was incredible and this match won’t be broken up by a fall and a break, this is going to be constant and I love that thought! this will be full of top spots and near falls and loud fan reactions but who do we as fans want to see win this more? Adam Cole as the face of NXT? Johnny Gargano to continue through after his crowning moment? Do we get Gargano v Tommaso Ciampa again down the line? so many questions but I have one winner here and its Adam Cole. Gargano had THAT crowning moment 8 weeks ago as he overcame all the odds and it was perfect it really was! But for me its time for Cole to become champion and face of this brand! Im ready for that and so should you be! Slowly dropping Undisputed Era in the coming weeks as he claims he used them to get to the top, its certainly a story to watch!

Winner: Adam Cole

Chris King: Is Brock Lesnar Truly Retired?

Brock Lesnar retired at WWE WrestleMania 42, right? Are we totally sure? Chris King asks…

Brock Lesnar WWE WrestleMania 42 Retirement

Brock Lesnar retired at WWE WrestleMania 42, right? Are we totally sure? Chris King asks…

At WrestleMania 42, ‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar took off his boots and gloves following his loss to Oba Femi. Lesnar has done it all inside of his twenty-four-year career in professional wrestling. He’s a ten-time WWE Champion and former UFC Heavyweight Champion, and he’s one who ended The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania.

While Lesnar was in the ring, he was visibly overwhelmed with emotion and crying while he thanked the fans in his own way. The Beast even threw up an x to signal to Paul Heyman, his longtime friend and advocate, that this was not scripted and was real. There had been rumors that Lesnar and Oba were supposed to have a series of matches before everything went down at Mania.

‘The Career Killer’ Gunther was doing Heyman’s bidding as he faced Seth Rollins for a favor. For a while now since Gunther retired Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles, the rumor has been Gunther was set to retire Lesnar in his hometown at this year’s SummerSlam event. There’s been no confirmation if Lesnar is truly retired, but on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, we saw Heyman talking with General Manager Nick Aldis. Later that night following Rhodes’ match against the debuting Ricky Saints, Gunther choked out the WWE Champion. Could this be the favor from Heyman?

I know in the world of professional wrestling we live by the mantra of “never say never,” but what if Lesnar is actually retired and this was WWE’s way of shutting down those rumors about Gunther and Lesnar? What if Gunther’s next program is chasing after the WWE title, and where is Randy Orton at in all of these plans? There are so many questions that need to be answered, hopefully soon!

Chris King: Defend The Intercontinental Championship At Backlash!

With WWE Backlash upon us, Chris King wants to see Penta defend the Intercontinental Championship in Tampa!

Penta WWE Intercontinental Championship WrestleMania 42

With WWE Backlash upon us, Chris King wants to see Penta defend the Intercontinental Championship in Tampa!

This year’s annual Backlash showcase is only a few days away, and while there are many big matches announced, one that definitely should be isn’t on the card. In my opinion, outside of Roman Reigns/Jacob Fatu and Seth Rollins/Bron Breakker, the Intercontinental Championship scene has been stellar over the last month.

Penta has been an excellent champion, especially after his triumphant title defense in a ladder match against JeVon Evans, Rusev, Dragon Lee, and the Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 42. Their ladder match at Mania was one of the best that WWE has produced in a while.

The momentum never stopped, as on the post-Mania episode of Monday Night Raw, ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page made his debut and was quickly inserted into the Intercontinental title scene. Page had a fantastic showing against his longtime NXT rival Evans and picked up a big win in his debut match thanks to an assist from Rusev.

All Ego immediately joined forces with ‘The Bulgarian Brute’ Rusev, who was also vying for the Intercontinental Title in his own right. On this week’s episode of Raw, Page and Rusev defeated Evans and Penta. All Ego pinned the champion, making a huge statement and putting him one step closer to getting a title shot. For the past few weeks I’ve been anxiously waiting to see if WWE was going to add this incredible fatal four-way match for the Intercontinental Championship, but it hasn’t happened yet.

As much as the WWE Universe enjoys witnessing great matches on free television, I truly believe all four superstars deserve the chance to showcase their talents on the PLE. While Penta has done a terrific job as the intercontinental champion, it’s time for a fresh face to hold the prestigious title. Page would make a great braggadocious heel that would help elevate the Intercontinental Championship to new heights!
