Latest On CM Punk
CM Punk has been a popular topic the past few weeks. It has been announced that he will appear at the Starrcast III event, the weekend of the upcoming All Out pay per view. It has lead many to speculate that Punk will be a part of AEW. Over the past few days, Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Sean Waltman have all weighed in on the possibilities of Punk joining AEW.
Punk On AEW:
I think he was misquoted. I know 1 of us had met with him in person, and yes I texted him plenty when we couldn’t connect on the actual phone, but not a contracted offer. I wouldn’t be surprised if he went back to wwe. Regardless, great wrestler & guy. Door is open if he wants it https://t.co/3ityuurGGy

Sean Waltman On Punk During His Latest Podcast:
“Well, that’s a hell of a score for Starrcast and I was surprised he wasn’t there for the first one. I would be surprised if he doesn’t show up in AEW. I have said this (before). I have been saying this since they announced AEW. I wouldn’t be surprised if he shows up on the very first (TV) show.”
Jason’s Take
I don’t expect Punk to ever return to a full time wrestling role. Would he have a lot to offer the business today if he joined AEW? I would think so, from both working with younger talent, to being a recognizable on air personality. While I don’t think Punk ever would return, one never can truly say never in the wrestling business.
WWE Expanding To Japan?
WWE has always been looking to expand their global outreach. One of the markets they are looking to tap into is the Japanese market. Dave Meltzer recently noted that WWE officials have met with both the Dragon Gate and the Stardom promotions.

Jason’s Take
You can say what you want to about him, but HHH seems to have his finger on the pulse of the business. I would not be surprised to see a performance center or NXT Japan to start in the very near future.
Latest On Jimmy Uso Arrest
On Thursday, TMZ broke the news of Jimmy Uso and his arrest for driving under the influence. Details of the arrest and what lead to it have started to come out. According to TMZ Sports:
Jason’s Take
This is Jimmy Uso’s second run in with the law this year. This past February, Uso also had an arrest after a drunken dispute with police while in Detroit. If Uso has a problem, here is hoping that he is able to get the help he needs and make a full recovery.
Trish Stratus vs Charlotte Flair?
WWE has announced via their website that Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler will be hosting a King’s Court segment with fellow WWE Hall of Famer, Trish Straus. The news making the rounds on multiple media sites are that WWE plans to have Stratus take on Charlotte Flair at the upcoming SummerSlam pay per view.
This Tuesday Stratuspherians! Tune in to Smackdown Live as I join my friend @JerryLawler on the returning King’s Court in Memphis! More deets below! https://t.co/GiExjkbtlQ

Jason’s Take
The matchup makes sense on many levels. One being that the pay per view is being held in Toronto, the home town of Stratus, and the other being that both women are considered to be the best female WWE wrestlers of their respective era. It truly is a dream match, but we will see if it delivers.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
