King: Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon’s Bumpy Road To Hell
Chris King breaks down the Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon drama and how this so-called “lawsuit” will culminate into a Hell in a Cell Match.
Chris King breaks down the Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon drama and how this so-called “lawsuit” will culminate into a Hell in a Cell Match.
Everyone remembers when Kevin Owens emerged from the WWE Universe after being kicked out of the arena for the second week in a row. He cut one of the most scathing promos on The McMahon Family reminiscent to CM Punk’s Pipebomb back in 2011.
Owen’s comments were 100% true and it morphed into one of the biggest babyfaces of this era. Of course, the self-proclaimed Best in the World would not be humiliated. any longer after several sneak attacks and stunners. So what did the egocentric boss do? He accepted his employee’s challenge to fight him at SummerSlam with the stipulation that if Owens loses he had to quit WWE in writing.
That’s where things got extremely personal. We know by now that Shane-O Mac doesn’t do anything on his own so, he enlisted the help of his goons Elias as the special guest enforcer. During the match, Owens was getting screwed left and right so he put his on Elias and Stunned his corrupt boss for the win. After saving his job

Owens refocused his attention to the King of the Ring Tournament however, Shane pulled another trick out of his sleeve and fined him $100,000. The self-proclaimed Best in the World refused to erase the fine even after Owens begged for the sake of his family.
That all changed a few weeks later when Shane told Owens he found a way to make it disappear and appointed him as the special guest referee for his match against Chad Gable in the King of the Ring semifinals. Of course, there were strings attached as Owens was instructed to cheat for Shane to ensure he was victorious.
The sad truth is that Owens followed his crooked boss’s orders making slow and fast counts but Gable still kicked out. Shane ultimately tapped out to the Ankle Lock, once the match was over Shane attacked Owens from behind and then proceeded to fire him.
On this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, Owens was shown in the crowd moments later the self-proclaimed Best in the World was served papers. Immediately, Shane invited Owens into the ring to handle their conflict man to man. Owens made his case that Shane did the exact same thing he did by putting his hands on a referee. There was one more hidden order that is that after Shane loses the case Owens gets to proclaim to the WWE Universe that HE’S FIRED!!!!
Let’s not kid ourselves here Shane is a McMahon for God’s sake and they are the only ones who do the firing in WWE. Since there is no way in hell that Shane will allow all his power to be taken away, a HUGE match will need to be made. What pay-per-view happens to be coming up in three weeks? Hell in a Cell. I’ve been saying for months as soon as their bitter feud began that Owens and Shane-O Mac should bring their rivalry full circle.
In case you’re not familiar with their history, in 2017 Owens was playing his typical conniving and vindictive heel self and Shane was the babyface authority figure. Owens had taken Shane’s “real-life” plane scare and made it extremely personal stating his entire family and kids would have been better off if he hadn’t survived. Shane beat the hell out of Owens but not enough. Owens would then threaten to sue WWE sound familiar?
On September 12, 2017 episode of SmackDown Live, the Chairman of WWE Vince McMahon said: “There wasn’t going to be a lawsuit, there’s going to be a match!” Of course, this would culminate into their Falls Count Anywhere Hell in a Cell Match.
I have hated how ridiculous the road to get here has been, having Owens off live television has not done him any favors. Let’s be honest for a minute here, Shane needs to go and stop stealing precious TV time for more deserving talent. Owens has been 100% right about everything he’s said. There’s one place to keep out Elias and the eventual return of Drew McIntyre, and that’s inside the demonic structure!

Chris King: Is Brock Lesnar Truly Retired?
Brock Lesnar retired at WWE WrestleMania 42, right? Are we totally sure? Chris King asks…
Brock Lesnar retired at WWE WrestleMania 42, right? Are we totally sure? Chris King asks…
At WrestleMania 42, ‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar took off his boots and gloves following his loss to Oba Femi. Lesnar has done it all inside of his twenty-four-year career in professional wrestling. He’s a ten-time WWE Champion and former UFC Heavyweight Champion, and he’s one who ended The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania.
While Lesnar was in the ring, he was visibly overwhelmed with emotion and crying while he thanked the fans in his own way. The Beast even threw up an x to signal to Paul Heyman, his longtime friend and advocate, that this was not scripted and was real. There had been rumors that Lesnar and Oba were supposed to have a series of matches before everything went down at Mania.
‘The Career Killer’ Gunther was doing Heyman’s bidding as he faced Seth Rollins for a favor. For a while now since Gunther retired Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles, the rumor has been Gunther was set to retire Lesnar in his hometown at this year’s SummerSlam event. There’s been no confirmation if Lesnar is truly retired, but on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, we saw Heyman talking with General Manager Nick Aldis. Later that night following Rhodes’ match against the debuting Ricky Saints, Gunther choked out the WWE Champion. Could this be the favor from Heyman?
I know in the world of professional wrestling we live by the mantra of “never say never,” but what if Lesnar is actually retired and this was WWE’s way of shutting down those rumors about Gunther and Lesnar? What if Gunther’s next program is chasing after the WWE title, and where is Randy Orton at in all of these plans? There are so many questions that need to be answered, hopefully soon!

Chris King: Defend The Intercontinental Championship At Backlash!
With WWE Backlash upon us, Chris King wants to see Penta defend the Intercontinental Championship in Tampa!
With WWE Backlash upon us, Chris King wants to see Penta defend the Intercontinental Championship in Tampa!
This year’s annual Backlash showcase is only a few days away, and while there are many big matches announced, one that definitely should be isn’t on the card. In my opinion, outside of Roman Reigns/Jacob Fatu and Seth Rollins/Bron Breakker, the Intercontinental Championship scene has been stellar over the last month.
Penta has been an excellent champion, especially after his triumphant title defense in a ladder match against JeVon Evans, Rusev, Dragon Lee, and the Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 42. Their ladder match at Mania was one of the best that WWE has produced in a while.
The momentum never stopped, as on the post-Mania episode of Monday Night Raw, ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page made his debut and was quickly inserted into the Intercontinental title scene. Page had a fantastic showing against his longtime NXT rival Evans and picked up a big win in his debut match thanks to an assist from Rusev.
All Ego immediately joined forces with ‘The Bulgarian Brute’ Rusev, who was also vying for the Intercontinental Title in his own right. On this week’s episode of Raw, Page and Rusev defeated Evans and Penta. All Ego pinned the champion, making a huge statement and putting him one step closer to getting a title shot. For the past few weeks I’ve been anxiously waiting to see if WWE was going to add this incredible fatal four-way match for the Intercontinental Championship, but it hasn’t happened yet.
As much as the WWE Universe enjoys witnessing great matches on free television, I truly believe all four superstars deserve the chance to showcase their talents on the PLE. While Penta has done a terrific job as the intercontinental champion, it’s time for a fresh face to hold the prestigious title. Page would make a great braggadocious heel that would help elevate the Intercontinental Championship to new heights!
