Xavier Woods Injured
During a live event Monday in Australia, many outlets were reporting that Xavier Woods was injured while working in a tag team match against The Revival. On Twitter, Woods confirmed that he is indeed injured. While an official statement on the exact injury and recovery timetable has yet to be released, Dave Meltzer is reporting that the chatter backstage is the injury is an Achilles tear that will require a significant amount of recovery.
Mans is injured. I’ll keep yall updated but as of right now I’m gonna stream a lot. Gonna hit cons a lot. Gonna post sponsored tweets a lot. Gonna eat pizza a lot. So many things to do! 1st cosplay coming next Saturday, I’m already laughing about ithttps://t.co/lTgxrMscbc

Jason’s Take
Long term, it will be interesting to see what WWE does with The New Day now with the injury to Woods. Will we see the group split up ?
Cody Rhodes On AEW Ratings
AEW has been fairly successful in drawing ratings its first three weeks on TNT. Some have been critical in the loss of viewers each week, including Vince Russo. Cody Rhodes took to Twitter to discuss AEW’s ratings.
We are happy and our partner is happy. We overshot projections and set a record for a WM debut. This is the era of cord cutting, simulcast and dvr bumps. We are proud of how incredible the numbers have been and know we need to work hard now more than ever.

Jason’s Take
I’ve been pleasantly surprised with AEW so far. It’s a change of pace from WWE programing. Did Vince Russo expect they were going to draw 5 million people a week ?
Randy Orton To AEW ?
Randy Orton has the whole wrestling world all work up due to a post on his Instagram account. Orton posteda picture of himself near a sign that stated “Elite Level.” This would lead to Chris Jericho responding as well.
Jason’s Take
Picturing Randy Orton in AEW just feels weird to me. I’ve always been of the opinion that Orton would be a lifer in WWE. However, with wrestling, anything is possible. This isn’t the first time Orton has posted anything in relation to AEW, so either he is stirring the pot, or has legit interest in jumping ship.
Shane McMahon To Return To WWE TV ?
During the first episode of SmackDown on FOX, Shane McMahon lost a lose leaves WWE match to Kevin Owens. Since then, it had been reported that Shane McMahon would no longer appear on WWE TV moving forward. During his Q&A portion of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer had the following to say on McMahon’s status:
“He’s got nothing right now. You’re never gone. It appears that he is not going to be on TV for a while.”
Jason’s Take
Once again, its hard to say never in pro wrestling. I wouldn’t be surprised if McMahon returns to WWE TV at some point.

Former WWE Star Reveals How Company Tests Wrestlers for an “Attitude Problem”
A former WWE star took to social media to explain, in brief, how WWE evaluates its talent to determine whether they have an “attitude problem.” The post offered a glimpse into the company’s behind-the-scenes vetting process, suggesting that behavior and professionalism are actively monitored during a wrestler’s time with the promotion.
While the explanation was limited, the revelation underscores WWE’s focus on maintaining locker-room culture and managing talent dynamics. Fans and industry observers may read the post as further evidence that character and conduct behind the curtain can be as consequential as in-ring performance.

WWE Backlash Match Sparks “Clone War” Debate in Wrestling Community
Wrestling fans and insiders are abuzz after a match at WWE Backlash was accused of “copycatting” a formula previously used by an independent wrestler, a situation some are calling a new “clone war” in the industry. The controversy highlights growing concerns about creative overlap between major promotions and the indie scene.
The debate raises questions about originality and recognition, with observers wondering whether mainstream companies should acknowledge or adapt indie ideas more transparently. As the story spreads, fans and performers alike are watching to see how promotions handle influence, credit, and creative borrowing moving forward.
