WWE isn’t through with releases just yet.

After a wave of releases that some are calling “Black Wednesday,” including us here at The Chairshot, a few more names trickled in. As pictured, one more wrestler and two more onscreen talents have been released.

Dorian Mak, originally Dan Matha, has been released, as confirmed by Dave Meltzer, as well as Mak’s/Matha’s own Instagram. The onscreen non-wrestling talent have been confirmed by WrestleTalk and a few other sources: Jon Quasto, who really only just became part of WWE 205 Live commentary, and Kathy Campanelli (real name Alyssa Marino), who only just started as an NXT correspondent.

I personally was just starting to enjoy Mak/Matha as one-half of the Outliers alongside Riddick Moss, and that duo had just started being managed by Robert Stone to strengthen the Robert Stone Brand stable in NXT. But Riddick Moss’s move to Raw and the WWE 24/7 Championship Division did seem to be an indicator that the Outliers weren’t keeping management’s interest. And only a few may remember how Dan Matha debuted in NXT to begin with: getting bodied by Samoa Joe as the wildest swerve perhaps ever.

Quasto was also becoming a great part of WWE 205 Live, but there are many things to be said about how the WWE doesn’t seem to be supporting that brand. Along with Aiden English, the 205 Live commentary will be completely changed this week, and it may be forever changed. And while Marino only just arrived, she came in with a lot of praise for her work in other promotions. But an age old saying, “Last Hired, First Fired,” is technically at play here. As I stated in yesterday’s coverage, we can only hope that WWE rebounds and can bring these names back.
