Marian takes a look back at the Top 5 matches from 2010 – 2020 in WWE! Did your favorite top the list?
There have been way too many Raw matches to count, but we’re here to sort through and present the top 5 between 2010 and 2020.
Handpicking Just 5 Isn’t an Easy Task
The universe of WWE has been spoiled by the riches of amazing wrestling matches. While the industry likes to focus on the entertainment aspect, the main core that attracts people is the wrestling.
Between 2010 and 2020 has brought the most talented roster and unforgettable, quality matches.
5. Daniel Bryan Vs John Cena (WWE SummerSlam 2013)
Despite people having opinions on John Cena’s ability to wrestle. The match started out slow and boos from the audible chanted,” You can’t wrestle!” Silence filled the crowd when Cena began to use his size and punish Daniel Bryan. Bryan was fired up and both wrestlers gave a masterpiece fight.
Despite the recent elbow injury, which he kept close to his body. John Cena did a fantastic job in the technical department, showing off mew moves against his match. Granting victory to Daniel Bryan as his Yes! lock block Cena’s ability to fighting. These two men responded to each kick and punch.
Daniel Bryan had been expected to be victorious, and he was granted the title. Using the Triple H, he pinned Cena and a WWE champion was born.
4. The Usos Vs New Day (WWE Hell In A Cell 2017)
This match between New Day and The Usos feud was fed into the steel structure.
The Usos defeated New Day on Sunday night at Hell in a Cell and became the SmackDown tag team champions for the third time. Neutralizing Big E with the Double Uce, Xavier Woods was able to break up the pinball attempt. Woods fought valiantly to continue in the match, but the Usos pelted him with kendo stick blows and allowed him to regain the tag titles. The expectations for this match was insanely high for it was said to be the final chapter of the epic rivalry.
The five men created some amazingly innovative spots that had never been seen before inside Hell in a Cell. With the real hate, yet respect for each other, you could sense how much each team wanted to win. Despite their match not being a classic tag team, WWE was able to rush this feeding feud right into the core of the steel structure.
3. Brock Lesnar Vs John Cena Vs Seth Rollins (WWE Royal Rumble 2015)
Despite being forced to face two of the top Superstars WWE has offered at the Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Sunday night. The match was pure chaos and in the best way to battle for the title.
Lesner being the favorite, he threw his weight around, fully dominating with high power moves. However, with Cena and Rollins there, we know there is plenty of offense that balances the match.
The match build perfect with a stunning finish. Rollins had put Lesner through the announce table, which made it seem like he was out of the match. Yet, he stumbled his way, paving victory at the last second in the thrilling finish.
2. John Cena Vs CM Punk (WWE Money In the Bank 2011)
There is no need for wrestling master-classes to create unforgettable matches, and this fight proved it. With the sports high standard, the core focus on the story and the emotion involved that made it a classic.
In Chicago, this was one of the greatest crowds of the decade. The crowd was supporting CM punk, despite the promise he made to quit the company. The two men played out the story, hitting every detail and perfected the tension. With Vince McMahon trying to get involved with Cena, Cena’s refusal lead to Punk’s victory.
1. The Undertaker Vs Shawn Michaels (WWE WrestleMania 26)
Being a WWE fan, this was a lifetime phenomenon and one aphrodisiac experience. The WWE has given us countless memorable moments.
The Undertaker and Shawn Micheals put on a spectacle, The Streak Vs the Career, was truly that brought two legends. For 25 minutes, both brought an A+ to their performance. Finisher after finisher and move after move, the suspense in this story reached a climax that left the fans waiting in anticipation. This match felt as if it was never going to end with emotions rising high. This duo brought in their in-ring chemistry. While this created a massively emotional moment with Michael’s retirement, it will go down in history.

Chris King: Is Brock Lesnar Truly Retired?
Brock Lesnar retired at WWE WrestleMania 42, right? Are we totally sure? Chris King asks…
Brock Lesnar retired at WWE WrestleMania 42, right? Are we totally sure? Chris King asks…
At WrestleMania 42, ‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar took off his boots and gloves following his loss to Oba Femi. Lesnar has done it all inside of his twenty-four-year career in professional wrestling. He’s a ten-time WWE Champion and former UFC Heavyweight Champion, and he’s one who ended The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania.
While Lesnar was in the ring, he was visibly overwhelmed with emotion and crying while he thanked the fans in his own way. The Beast even threw up an x to signal to Paul Heyman, his longtime friend and advocate, that this was not scripted and was real. There had been rumors that Lesnar and Oba were supposed to have a series of matches before everything went down at Mania.
‘The Career Killer’ Gunther was doing Heyman’s bidding as he faced Seth Rollins for a favor. For a while now since Gunther retired Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles, the rumor has been Gunther was set to retire Lesnar in his hometown at this year’s SummerSlam event. There’s been no confirmation if Lesnar is truly retired, but on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, we saw Heyman talking with General Manager Nick Aldis. Later that night following Rhodes’ match against the debuting Ricky Saints, Gunther choked out the WWE Champion. Could this be the favor from Heyman?
I know in the world of professional wrestling we live by the mantra of “never say never,” but what if Lesnar is actually retired and this was WWE’s way of shutting down those rumors about Gunther and Lesnar? What if Gunther’s next program is chasing after the WWE title, and where is Randy Orton at in all of these plans? There are so many questions that need to be answered, hopefully soon!

Chris King: Defend The Intercontinental Championship At Backlash!
With WWE Backlash upon us, Chris King wants to see Penta defend the Intercontinental Championship in Tampa!
With WWE Backlash upon us, Chris King wants to see Penta defend the Intercontinental Championship in Tampa!
This year’s annual Backlash showcase is only a few days away, and while there are many big matches announced, one that definitely should be isn’t on the card. In my opinion, outside of Roman Reigns/Jacob Fatu and Seth Rollins/Bron Breakker, the Intercontinental Championship scene has been stellar over the last month.
Penta has been an excellent champion, especially after his triumphant title defense in a ladder match against JeVon Evans, Rusev, Dragon Lee, and the Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 42. Their ladder match at Mania was one of the best that WWE has produced in a while.
The momentum never stopped, as on the post-Mania episode of Monday Night Raw, ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page made his debut and was quickly inserted into the Intercontinental title scene. Page had a fantastic showing against his longtime NXT rival Evans and picked up a big win in his debut match thanks to an assist from Rusev.
All Ego immediately joined forces with ‘The Bulgarian Brute’ Rusev, who was also vying for the Intercontinental Title in his own right. On this week’s episode of Raw, Page and Rusev defeated Evans and Penta. All Ego pinned the champion, making a huge statement and putting him one step closer to getting a title shot. For the past few weeks I’ve been anxiously waiting to see if WWE was going to add this incredible fatal four-way match for the Intercontinental Championship, but it hasn’t happened yet.
As much as the WWE Universe enjoys witnessing great matches on free television, I truly believe all four superstars deserve the chance to showcase their talents on the PLE. While Penta has done a terrific job as the intercontinental champion, it’s time for a fresh face to hold the prestigious title. Page would make a great braggadocious heel that would help elevate the Intercontinental Championship to new heights!
