The Best in the World and the NEW AEW World Champion joins forces with the #TopGuys, Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood as a gold-studded team! Punk even dives into the crowd to celebrate with Los Angeles over his Las Vegas victory! But will Punk and the dual AAA & ROH World Tag Team Champions keep the celebration rolling? Or will Platinum Max & the Ass Boys rain on the parade?
But of course, Caster has a rap! “Acclaimed and the Gunns, what the fans prefer. We’re about to make y’all pay like Amber Heard! Look at Punk, y’all’re mortified! You lookin’ like you live underneath the 405! FTR’s better than most, but they gotta ride Punk’s coattails to get on the show. And by the way, Bret Hart’s trash, boys. You’re gettin’ served by Acclaimed ‘n’ the Ass Boys!” Austin & Colten still don’t approve of that nickname but the fans chant. Austin says, “SACRAMENTOOO~!” No, that’s not where we are! Cash has the cording hold and joins in on the “ASS~ BOYS~!” Fans fire up, Colten pulls hair to put Cash in the corner. Caster tags in, Colten feeds the scoop but Cash slips out!

Austin then feeds Dax to Colten’s dropkick! Austin adds a THROWBACK, then Colten covers, TWO!
Colten taunts the fans, tag to Caster. They whip Dax into buckles, Caster taunts Cash and the ref has to keep Cash back. Caster stretches Dax against ropes, and Billy gets a cheap shot in! Winners: CM Punk & FTR, by pinfall
The Best in the World and the Top Guys stand tall, champions all! But with these golden targets on their backs, who will be next to step up to them for those titles?
Punk gets a mic and he says, “I’ve never done drugs in my life, but I’d imagine this is what it feels like. And the magical thing about me being me is, boy, I still gotta lot of work to do. There’s still miles to travel, there’re still roads to travel, and hell, I know I gotta get better. That’s what this championship’s about. I wouldn’t be here if my road to success wasn’t littered with mistakes, and those mistakes are just learning moments, and gaddamit, I’m gonna learn. And I’m gonna get better. And you can call me what you want: positive, negative, but you gotta call me ‘the champ!'” Fans like the sound of that!
Dax says those things Punk hasn’t done, Dax’s done. And he’ll tell ya, yeah it feels that good. But uh, in seriousness, pro-wrestling means the world to him. His beautiful wife and baby girl are in the crowd, and they’re the only two things in this damn world that mean more to him than pro-wrestling. Being ROH Tag Team Champion means to world to FTR. So when you come on their stage, in their ring, and attack them, that don’t sit well. So what he’s getting at is, if you’re from another company, if you’re from the same company, sorry but bring your asses out here so they can kick your ass!
Punk says that brings us to NJPW. “Some of the best professional wrestlers in the world, but I happen to be standing in the world with two of the best! No jumping from behind, no back fighting. We’ve got a Pay-Per-View to sell. Forbidden Door, I know you’re back door, show me who I got!” And with that, it’s HIROSHI TANAHASHI! The Ace of NJPW is here in LA and fans are fired up to see him! The Once in a Century Talent is going to take on The Best in the World, who walks out the Forbidden Door the greatest of all time?
MJF is here!
Somehow, Maxwell Jacob Friedman is up and moving after the Powerbomb Symphony Wardlow played using his body this past Sunday. MJF has his music cut and he goes to the ring. Fans mostly boo as MJF has the mic. “I am in a lot of pain right now after what happened on Sunday. But all you people want is to hear me talk, right?” NO! Well MJF will talk, but as Max Friedman! “Big merger, boss. Lot of important executives here tonight to watch your product. It’d be a real shame if something bad happened. I wouldn’t want to embarrass you, man. Speaking of embarrassing, you’ve been trying to sit down with me to hash things out for quite some time now, haven’t ya?”
Fans tell MJF to STFU but MJF says, “Guess what? Too little too late! Here’s why! When this company first started, it was all friends wrestling. Everybody was handed a ticket, except for me! See, I had to write my own. And boy do I have good penmanship, because I created moment after moment after moment for this company, and I still get no respect!” Fans applaud because they’re starting to agree. MJF says NO ONE is on his level! Everything he touches turns to gold! There is nothing he can’t do! “Every time I come out here, I am not expected to hit home runs, I expected to hit grand slams, and I do that s*it on a weekly basis!”
MJF says that while everyone else settle for being great, he has to be perfect! Because he is the 26 year old constantly under a microscope because he is the only one who can carry this company on his back, as he has for MONTHS! “It’s funny I hear boos but I also hear clapping. That’s interesting. Where were you guys this whole weekend when you were calling me an unprofessional piece of s*it? I’m just curious.” They’re not the only problem, it’s the “boys in the back,” too. They all want MJF’s spot, but guess what? You can have it! MJF doesn’t wanna be here anymore.
Now to the “fans.” You all act like fans but you’re uneducated MARKS! You sit there on your phones, tweeting out opinions like they’re worth a damn. MJF will explain something to you: “YOU DON’T KNOW S*IT!! Your opinions suck, your opinions change at the drop of a dime, but then you pretend that your new opinions are the same as your old ones.” For example, people say they always knew MJF was a good wrestler. Except those same people pretended he sucked for a long time. And why is that? Because MJF isn’t like all the faves? Like he doesn’t pretend to watch NJPW? Because he doesn’t dump his opponents on his head and is reckless?
Is it because MJF doesn’t chase the star ratings? What is it? How could MJF possibly be the best? News flash: HE IS THE BEST! He is the only guy who makes you feel! And unlike all those boys, he doesn’t have to do a bunch of BS to get you there! MJF is a generational talent and yet everyone takes him for granted! But it’s not just the fans, it’s the big man in the back, too! Here’s something they can’t take for granted, and something Tony Khan doesn’t want you to know: Do you know who is the second best minute-to-minute draw for AEW? You wish! It’s MJF! If you don’t believe him, go ask “Stat Boy” what he has to say. But don’t ask him to pay the man who’s been busting his ass for him since day one!
No, no, no! Tony has to horde all that money to give to the newest ex-WWE guys he’s hiring! Who can’t even lace MJF’s GADDAMN BOOTS! Fans are giving MJF a standing ovation for this amazing venting! MJF asks Tony if he’d be treated better if he was an ex-WWE guy. Here’s the problem, boss. You have a position of power in a wrestling company, when the only position you should be assuming is behind the guard rails with all the fans! MJF doesn’t wanna wait until 2024 but Tony doesn’t listen, so MJF will make it easier: FIRE MJF!
And don’t try and play him off, he’s not done! MJF wants Tony to FIRE him, and then he curses so hard they have to bleep it all! MJF is incensed, Dynamite goes to break, how will “boss man” respond to this?
Johnny Elite’s Open Challenge: John Morrison VS ???
Speaking of one of those ex-WWE guys… Johnny Elite returns home to LA, and he wants to prove himself worthy of being here in AEW! He wants to face the best here, but who steps up to take him on?
“My God, it’s been a long time. I’ve been thinking, waiting, healing. Everything you’ve put me through made me realize that all I need is to get closer to you again. So I will return to AEW to help my fellow man. The Bastards, the Punks, the Cowboys, and the pagans, too. And I will redeem them all. And those good deeds are what’s going to bring me back to the Kingdom of Heaven. Where I will find you! You separated me from my gold and kept me from my home! But my neck of sand is now fixed! It’s my heart that’s broken… My God, I no longer wish to come home. I now want to come and take yours! The Redeemer is back, flawless!” AKA, MIRO has returned! Will he CRUSH Johnny Elite and be redeemed in combat?
The bell rings and fans fire up! Miro and Johnny circle, Johnny tries a testing kick but Miro stays up. Miro blocks Johnny’s next kick to CLOBBER him! Miro stomps Johnny, kicks him and throws hands, then bumps him off buckles! Miro fires off big hands and stomps away! The ref counts, Miro lets off and fans are fired up even more! Miro drags Johnny up, Johnny throws hands but Miro whips him to a corner. Johnny BOOTS, goes up the corner, but Miro drags him down to SAIDO! Miro snarls while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Miro flexes while fans rally up. Miro drags Johnny up, KICKS him in the back, then CHOKES him on the ropes! The ref counts, Miro lets off and then KICKS Johnny in the back! Miro snarls as Johnny flounders to a corner. Miro brings Johnny up but Johnny throws body shots! Johnny runs, but Miro CLOBBERS him! Miro soaks up the cheers, then brings Johnny up to suplex! Miro stomps Johnny, drags him up and suplexes him again! Miro paces around Johnny, runs and drops an elbow! Cover, TWO! Miro stomps Johnny, sits him up and nods before he DECKS Johnny with a right! Miro clamps on a chinlock and squeezes tight!
Johnny endures, fights up, throws body shots and ROCKS Miro with a forearm! Dynamite returns to single picture as Johnny runs. Miro follows but Johnny elbows him away. Johnny runs in, ducks and dodges, but leaps into Miro’s arms! Miro swings and SLAMS Johnny down! Fans fire up and he aims from a corner. Miro stomps around, Johnny gets up, but Johnny avoids the kick, waistlocks, spins Miro around and ROUNDHOUSES! Miro wobbles, but he stands up again. Johnny fires off heavy strikes, but Miro throws him to a corner, only to miss in the corner. Johnny fires off more strikes, then runs, springboard, FLYING CHCUK!
Fans fire up as Johnny hits a STANDING SHOOTING STAR! Cover, ONE!! Johnny keeps moving, SHINING WIZARD! Johnny gets up top, fans rally, BARREL ROLL, but Johnny has to roll through as Miro dodges! BEST KICK! Miro snarls with wide eyes and fans fire up with him! Miro shouts for it, and he stomps Johnny into the GAME OVER!! Johnny is bent back, he taps out! Miro wins!
Winner: Miro, by submission
Redemption! But this is just the first! Will Miro fight his way to the Pearly Gates, and end up with AEW gold?
The Jericho Appreciation Society heads to the ring!
The “recognized symbol of excellence in sports entertainment” was shockingly victorious in the bloody and brutal Anarchy in the Arena match. Fans sing Judas as the pyro pops off and Chris Jericho leads Jake Hager, Angelo Parker & Matt Menard to the ring. Jericho then has the song stop and fans boo. Parker clears his throat and says at Double or Nothing, they DOMINATED Anarchy in the Arena. “Therefore, AEW Galaxy, APPRECIATE US!” Wink wink. Menard then takes the mic to say Daddy Magic wants to know, Double or Nothing, did you see it!? HUH!? Did you order it? If you did, then you know that JAS are the Princes of Pain! Nobody does it better!
Jericho smiles and says, “I know you all wanted to sing, but you don’t deserve it tonight. What you deserve is the winners of the Anarchy in the Arena, the Jericho Appreciation Society. But winning that match was not without a price. We had our heads bounced off the floor, went through tables, covered in mustard. I had my hair pulled out, I was knocked down, beaten down, and even worse, that psycho, Eddie Kingston comes to the ring- SHUT YOUR MOUTH! Here’s your Eddie Kingston!” He comes to the ring with a gas can, pours gasoline all over Jericho, and wants to light him on fire?! What kind of man burns another man? Uh…
But another thing! That other piece of trash, Bryan Danielson, he says at the end, “I’m going to kick his expletive head in!” Fans chant “YES! YES! YES!” for Bryan. But after that, Hager and Jericho choked Bryan OUT, and that lost the match! And Bryan isn’t here tonight! Fans boo but Jericho says “that is what Daniel Garcia will do to that fathead, Jon Moxley, here in the main even of Dynamite.” It is like the JAS says: every time sports entertainers VS pro wrestlers, sports entertainers win! ALWAYS! ALWAYS! Sports entertainers always win! But wait, here comes Eddie Kingston! The Mad King has his music cut, too, as he and Regal are together!
Fans are thunderous for Kingston and Regal, and Kingston says he’ll fight all of them right now! Bryan isn’t talking to Eddie, he hasn’t really talked with Mox in weeks, “Monkey” Ortiz isn’t talking to him, either. But Eddie doesn’t care! He just wants to fight them all! But y’know what? Regal, let them know where he wants to fight them! BLOOD AND GUTS!!! That’s right! Blood & Guts II is going to happen! Jericho says Kingston wants Blood & Guts? Uh oh, Kingston is storming up! Well he ain’t getting that match! Get him! They mug Kingston 3v1 with Jericho taunting Kingston in the ring! Kingston deserves to be in a cage, not the JAS!
But when Jericho turns around, Ortiz is there! MAD BALL!! And then Ortiz has scissors! He’s going to cut Jericho’s hair!! He gets a BIG lock of it! Fans are shocked, and then Ortiz runs as the JAS return! Fans chant for “Monkey! Monkey!” as he and Kingston regroup. Jericho yells at the stupid SOB for cutting his hair! Jericho’s hair is worth more than Ortiz’s entire existence! But if they want Blood & Guts, if they want to face the JAS again.. THEY’VE GOT IT! But… There has to be something in return. Jericho vows to shave Ortiz bald! If they want Blood & Guts, then we need Jericho VS Ortiz, Hair VS Hair! Ortiz says okay then!
Jericho says he’ll beat Ortiz, shave him, and BURN him, because he’s a wizard!! But will Jericho end up the one burned by his own gamble before being bloodied inside the double ring, double cage?

Backstage interview with Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland.
Lexi Nair is with them and some special guests as she notes how close Keith & Swerve were to becoming new AEW World Tag Team Champions. How are they feeling now? Swerve wants to introduce us to his people first. We’ve got Gi from the MCU, man behind the Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War. Then there’s Flash Garments, man behind Swerve’s theme song. And last but not least, the fashion icon himself, Jeff Hamilton, presenting Swerve with a special jackets to sport around. In the Forum, we’ve had Jerry West and Chamberlain, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant and Shaq. Two single stars on one team.
Keith says it is to be noted that whether it be as a tag team or as singles competitors, the goal has been gained before, and it will happen again, and when it does, Keith expects we will all #SwerveInOurGlory. When and where will the Limitless House of Swerve grab golden opportunities here in AEW?
Tony Schiavone is on stage.
He gladly introduces someone who made her AEW debut at Double or Nothing, and now she makes her Dynamite debut, it is ATHENA! The Fallen Goddess made her presence known to AEW and the Baddies when she made sure they couldn’t bully Anna Jay. Schiavone says Athena didn’t back down from Jade Cargill, and he welcomes her officially to AEW. She thanks him and the fans, and says she can finally say it: Athena is All Elite! And it is no surprise why she’s here. The top tier competition of the AEW Women’s Division, nonetheless that of one dominant TBS Champion, Jade Cargill.
But Jade, Athena wants to keep it 100, real talk. All streaks were made to be broken, and Athena will break Jade’s! So you can say this or that, but Athena is the Fallen Goddess, the Alpha- Jade storms out to tell Tony to “cut the s*it!” Jade, with The Baddies and now Stokely Hathaway instead of Mark Sterling, walks out to say that she is #ThatBitch. Now, let her introduce us to the best talker in the game, Hathaway! “Athena, Athena, Athena, Athena. How dare you interrupt us at Double or Nothing your first day on the damn job, too. What a shame. Shame, shame, shame.” It is Hathaway’s job as Jade’s publicist to inform Athena and everyone that Jade right here is a QUEEN.
Jade is a goddess, and is our TBS Champion! And Hathaway knows Athena wants a title shot, but guess what? Hathaway holds the mic up for Jade so she can say, “Not today!” HA! Athena says okay, but then Kiera gets in her way. Athena says okay, if it’s like that… Anna Jay walks out! AND Kris Statlander! Kris stares down Velvet, Hathaway has everyone stand down. Security, get out here! Refs rush out, too, but Athena still stares Jade down. Will the Fallen Goddess fight her way up and prove she can beat #ThatBitch?
Wardlow VS JD Drake!
MJF’s meltdown may have been about management, but his mood certainly wasn’t helped losing to the Maestro of Mayhem. Wardlow is now truly All Elite and looks to finally get himself some gold! Will he maintain his #1 contender’s spot now that he is unleashed? Or can Scrap Metal find a way to end Wardlow’s warpath?
The bell rings and JD CHOPS Wardlow! Wardlow doesn’t flinch, so JD CHOPS again! That one stings, and JD boasts about it, only to turn around into the wind-up LARIAT! Wardlow snarls, whips JD to ropes, but JD gets around to waistlock and shove. Wardlow goes up, over, rolls and RAMS into JD! Then Wardlow hauls JD up and carries him around, for a SPINEBUSTER! The straps come down already and fans fire up! POWERBOMB! But fans all know that’s just the first verse! POWERBOMB! And then the cover, Wardlow wins!
Winner: Wardlow, by pinfall
At 52-8, Wardlow is still on top! Tony Schiavone gets in the ring with Wardlow to say here in LA, we will say it again: Wardlow is All Elite! But then Mark Sterling storms out with a lot of security, and he tells “Wardy” to hold on here. Give him the documents! Wardlow must be pretty proud of himself, huh? All tickled pink! Wardlow thinks he can wreak havoc across the nation and get away with it? Wardlow says Sterling doesn’t watch the product. Sterling says take a look at what those papers say! He’s being served with a lawsuit on behalf of the American Arena Security Professionals, the people he’s been beating up for weeks and weeks!
Sterling says he’ll see Wardlow in court! Wardlow looks to the fans with a look that says, “Is he serious?” Wardlow tosses the papers aside to grab the guy who handed him the papers! Sterling says no, that man has a family! Well he also gets a POWERBOMB! And Wardlow rips up the papers, to feed them to the security guard! Will Wardlow beat this frivolous suit the same way he has just about everyone else?
Backstage interview with Dan Lambert and the Men of the Year.
Lexi Nair stands with the victorious Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page and brings up this Friday on Rampage, it will be Scorpio Sky VS Dante Martin for the AEW TNT Championship. Lambert’s thoughts are that where you like Dante or not, which for the record Lambert doesn’t, no one can deny Dante’s ability or potential. But that means if Dante does everything right over the next couple of years, he’ll end up where Scorpio Sky is right now. Which would be great, if Dante had a couple more years. But he’s only got days, bro! And none of the potential gets him any closer to “Genie.” Scorpio won’t let Dante even touch Genie!
So here’s what Dante should do: enjoy this “California vacation.” Walk down Sunset Boulevard, get you some Rosco’s Chicken ‘n’ Waffles, because on Friday, you’ll get your ass handed to you by the only man worthy of being The Face of TNT. But Dante steps in to stop the snap! Dante “appreciates” all the confidence they have in his potential, but he thinks he is better than Scorpio is right now. And on Rampage, he proves it! Dante steps away, but will he step up to the plate to get struck out by The Closer? Or will he hit the biggest home run of his career?

Sure, Blackpool Combat Club and friends lost to the Jericho Appreciation Society in Anarchy in the Arena, but we know that the war is far from over! Blood & Guts is on the horizon, will the Maniac make Red Death bleed as much as he did at Double or Nothing? Or can the sports entertainer inflict more pain on the pro-wrestler?
Jericho and Regal are on commentary, talking trash on each other and their factions, and even take joy in seeing some of the celebrities in the crowd. The bell rings, Garcia and Moxley circle. They knuckle lock, then break. Fans rally up for Mox as he and Garcia tie up again. Moxley puts Garcia in a corner, Garcia turns it around, but the ref counts. Garcia lets off at 4, the two go again. You want Blood & Guts? Sign up Jon Moxley, you’ve got BLOOD! AND! GUTS!!” June 29th, Motor City, The Jericho Appreciation Society at least has two opponents, but will we see Ortiz, Santana and Bryan Danielson join in like they did for Anarchy in the Arena?
My Thoughts:
This is how you follow up a PPV while also setting up another! First, a great surprise in teaming Punk with FTR, they had a great Six Man Tag against Acclaimed Gunn Club. Now of course the team of champions win, but we also got a great promo from them to plug Forbidden Door, and how awesome that it’ll be Tanahashi taking on Punk. Tanahashi may not be champion right now, but he is in that “above titles” space, and Tanahashi VS Punk is a dream match. FTR indirectly call out United Empire, and given last week’s attack, it’s a given that is another match. And great matches set for Rampage, such as Hangman VS Finlay in another Forbidden Door teaser.
Good promo segment from The Baddies and their enemies, and Kiera VS Athena is going to be very good. Athena surely wins but definitely expect Jade and Velvet to get involved after. We need the Six Woman Tag before Jade has another challenger. Great tag match out of Britt & Hayter VS Soho & Storm, and it was a great rematch from their pre Double or Nothing tag match. I almost thought Hayter was going to help Britt steal it, but Soho & Storm still win. Intriguing storytelling here where Soho & Storm can’t beat Britt 1v1 but can as a team. I just hope AEW gives Soho and Storm the big wins they deserve that WWE (Vince) never saw in them.
Johnny Elite’s open challenge sure didn’t go the way anyone expected it to. Miro returns, he dominates and defeats Morrison, and now it’s Miro who gets going post-PPV. Maybe Miro is going to find his way to a title and give whoever it is one hell of a match, fans sure loved seeing him back. Speaking of which, really good promo out of Men of the Year and Dante Martin to hype up the TNT Championship match. Scorpio VS Dante is going to be wild stuff but in the end, pretty sure Scorpio retains. Scorpio just got that awesome looking purple ‘n’ gold belt, he’s going to hold onto that for a good long time.
Great 10 Man Tag tonight, even with the alterations to it. Jeff Hardy is still banged up from the match with the Bucks, and understandably so with another of those steel step spots. Darby Allin steps in and it works since he wants payback on Kyle. Great stuff with Cole on commentary going back and forth between confident and frustrated, and the little bit of Matt Hardy and Christian working out their differences. Undisputed Elite wins out because they’re going to be rolling back up the rankings. Bucks VS Lucha Brothers on Rampage is going to be awesome stuff all over again, but I would think Bucks win to get after Jurassic Express and the titles. Bucks might get those off Jurassic Express, because then one day, we’ll get more FTR VS Bucks for those titles.
Wardlow of course squashes JD Drake, but I like that Mark Sterling is continuing story with him on behalf of MJF and the jobber security guards. Honestly, a story like that should’ve been done in wrestling by now, so very smart of Smart Mark Sterling and AEW to do that. Who knows how this goes but it is a brilliant way to keep Wardlow going while he waits for title scenes to sort out. He is #1 contender, he will surely stay that for a good stretch, then he’ll have his pick of titles, though why wouldn’t he go for THE AEW World Championship? Give us Wardlow VS Punk, even as Face VS Face, though Punk did a great job being Tweener against Hangman so he can do that here, too.
Great promo from Keith & Swerve with their special guests to make a point that they’re sticking together. They weren’t just in the AEW Tag Division to get even with Team Taz, they want to be AEW’s Two Man Power Trip, and that would be cool to see at some point. Great stuff out of Jericho Appreciation Society and the extended Blackpool Combat Club faction. Good promo to set up what I was hoping for at Double or Nothing with Blood & Guts, that will be on “free TV” so no one gets robbed of that experience. And while it looks like 5v2, it will of course be 5v5 before then.
Though a bit odd that they scheduled Hair VS Hair for after Blood & Guts. Don’t they want to give us Bald Jericho or Bald Ortiz inside that cage? Well, okay, maybe not, the bald guy could end up bleeding from really bad spots on his head… But either way, great to hear that Road Rager is coming back, and I am going to love seeing Jericho end up bald or at least crewcut. Moxley VS Garcia was AWESOME, Garcia needs to realize he is still a pro-wrestler at heart and he turns on Jericho to join BCC to be another of the young generation like Wheeler Yuta. Then you’ve got a tag team of Yuta and Garcia, Moxley and Bryan can go for the singles title, BCC is dripping with blood and gold!
And I saved the best for last. MJF, Max Friedman, a generational talent on the mic if ever there was one, and honestly, no one can take away from what MJF said in the ring. Modern Day Pipebomb? Maybe. But it’s really telling that when WWE and talent have a dispute over creative, the talent is stripped of the titles, suspended without pay, and as far as anyone knows, it’s 99.99% shoot. Meanwhile, AEW and talent have a dispute over pay, and it’s to give us an all time instant classic promo that can actually feed into creative! WWE may want MJF, but they do not DESERVE MJF, and AEW will surely give MJF what he’s owed and we’ll see MJF get himself a title before year’s out.
My Score: 9.4

The Death Riders speak.
It was after AEW Dynamite on Wednesday that Jon Moxley said, “Every time I step into the ring with Kyle O’Reilly, I can’t find a way to win. It’s been failure after failure after failure. Kyle O’Reilly has tapped me out, twice. Ipso facto, Kyle O’Reilly will be the new Continental Champion. You might think. But the Jon Moxley of six months ago is not the same as Jon Moxley of today. Who I will be tomorrow is better than who I am today. Logic and strategy would dictate that I should stay as far away from Kyle O’Reilly as I can. Because there’s no doubt about it, Kyle, you have my number.
The thing about this Continental Championship, it’s good bait. All the dragons I wanna slay come right to my door. I will do what I’ve done for 22 years surviving in this business, Kyle: I’m gonna find a way.” The Maniac heads out, and Claudio Castagnoli steps forward to tell Brody King that Brody always brings the bark. But if he steps in the ring with Claudio in the Owen Hart Tournament, he better bring the bite. Pac then says, “Nobody gets special treatment. It doesn’t matter who you are, Death Riders against the world.” Daniel Garcia says yeah, let’s get it! Yuta repeats, “Against the world.” Marina Shafir tells the world, “Bring it, you p*ssies!”

Will Ospreay speaks.
It was also after Dynamite that The Aerial Assassin told Samoa Joe, “My apologies for not getting back to any of your messages, been a little bit busy training and getting myself ready for The Owen. Surprised to see you there in the opening round, mate. It’s gonna be a tough one. But if you can just bear with me for a hot second while I explain to you… Six months of my life got taken away from me, mate. Six months, I’ve been sitting in front of a TV screen, watching AEW, looking at it, trying to get my strength back in my arms, rushing to get back. That’s six months of frustration, six months of anger. And then I finally had my kill shot on Dynasty, and I lost.
“And ever since then, man, I’ve been struggling with my matches. Doc even stopped one for my own safety. I’m annoyed that I didn’t get revenge on Jon. But I’m more upset at the idea that I can’t be the guy that AEW put their trust in once upon a time. Regardless of how I feel about Jon, regardless of how I feel about The Death Riders, there’s nothing that I can say that’ll make people ever understand. But Jon Moxley is the Ace, he’s a soldier for this place. And while his methods might be sick, there are people who stand up to see him get elevated. So what could it happen with him in my corner?
“Joe, I’ve got nothing but respect for ya. Everything that you’ve done in this industry. Mate, you were in the match that made me want to become a pro-wrestler. But no one, no one, is stopping me from winning The Owen. And I find it very poetic that the man takt took away my old life has given me a second chance of capturing the world championship.” The Billy Goat is ready to become something more, but will Samoa Joe make sure Ospreay goes Double or Nothing and loses?
Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.
Lexy Nair congratulates them on their win tonight, and brings up that Moxley has accepted Kyle’s challenge. Kyle says yes, Moxley is right, Kyle has his number. But facing Moxley has been the biggest test of Kyle’s career, so what’s one more test? This Wednesday, it’s a title eliminator, and after Kyle makes Moxley submit again, he is putting all his chips in and goes Double or Nothing! Briscoe says damn right, Kyle. And speaking of Dynamite, Tommaso Ciampa, Briscoe put it plain and clear, but he hasn’t heard a word from Ciampa! If Ciampa’s scared, he should just say it! Cassidy says Willow needs to say something.
Willow says sure, okay. Great job, guys, really. But for her, Double or Nothing, it will be TRIPLE or nothing, because she has THIS bad boy, the TBS Championship! But she’s also coming for The Owen, and the World Championship! As for tonight, Red Velvet may have beaten Willow to qualify for The Owen, but that won’t happen tonight. Backstage interview with Sammy Guevara.
Lexy Nair is with The Spanish God and brings up how he called out Darby Allin just last night at Supercard of Honor for the AEW World Championship. But just like last night, Sammy hushes “Chica” Lexy, and says, “Everybody’s Favorite Pillar is about to talk, so zip it and listen. Darby, I don’t need to call my shot against you because I looked through the history books, and history’s on my side. I’ve beaten you not once, not twice, not three times, I’ve beaten you four times. When I look at the history books, I’m a three-time TNT Champion while you, you’ve only held that belt twice.
“So I’m gonna beat you tonight like I’ve beaten you before. I’m gonna stamp my ticket to Double or Nothing, and MJF, I know you’re watching, you sociopath. I’m gonna beat you next week and I’m gonna shave you BALD! But don’t worry, I’ll give you a nice little fade. Because I am the best! I am the best wrestler, I am the best talker, I am the best this planet has! I’m the Spanish God, dammit! I’m number one, I’ve been here since day one, and there’s only one way this is gonna go: With me as the NEW AEW World Champion! Darby, your time is up, and my time is now. Because I am Numero Uno. That means ‘number one.'”
Sammy heads out, but is his big head only going to get in the way tonight?
Backstage interview with Darby Allin.
Collision returns and Lexy is now with said AEW World Champion. She brings up the five title defenses in 21 days, an AEW record! But tonight is number six against someone Darby’s known for a long time in Sammy Guevara. Darby says when he showed up today, he asked if anyone had seen MJF yet. Then he thought, “What a stupid question. Of course he’s not gonna be at Collision.” MJF is not a company man, he only cares about himself. And those same people asked back, why is Darby back? Why is Darby defending his title again? Double or Nothing is next Sunday, why is Darby risking losing this? Because Darby loves this!
And if there’s anyone in this company as crazy as Darby, it is Sammy Guevara. Darby loves it! Darby realizes this could all end tonight, and Speedball wants his match on Wednesday? Well, if Darby walks out here tonight, then on Dynamite, it’s Showtime! Darby thanks Lexy then heads back out. Will the Relentless Reign be an unstoppable one? Or is this one Collision Darby will not walk away from?

Sounds like to me Wednesday night, the only right thing to do is to make this ANYTHING GOES! NO DISQUALIFICATIONS!” The fans like the sound of that!
The Psycho Killer may have just stepped into it! Will there be nothing stopping Briscoe from doing anything he wants to Ciampa?

He is your hero! And to be honest, for everything that he does, he deserves a standing ovation! Joe certainly applauds, and the fans here in Salisbury join in!
Bowens says if you’re asking what this change of attitude is about… This man, Samoa Joe, has been teaching Bowens all he needs to know: choices have consequences; and if you don’t like the way the table is set, you flip that table over and you choose violence! The fans cheer, and now Joe speaks on the mic. “Oh, Ospreaaaay~…! Do you understand what I do for my friends? But unfortunately, decisions have consequences, and you chose a different road, Will. So allow me to say this: I am truly beyond honored that you consider facing me a dream match.” The fans cheer that, but Joe says it’s just unfortunate that when he gets Ospreay in the ring, “it’ll be nothing but a nightmare.”
Joe & Bowens have made it clear that no matter who, no matter where, and no matter what, The Opps will not show mercy. Will nothing stop The Opps from taking it all here in AEW?
Backstage interview with #Brodido.
Lexy Nair is with Brody King & Bandido, and wants to talk the Owen Hart Tournament. Brody is set to face Claudio while Bandido is up against Swerve Strickland. Now, if they both win their matches, that pits them against teach other in the semifinals. But what they also needs to talk about is last night, Supercard of Honor, Bandido retained the title, only for Swerve to attack. Brody tells Swerve that he warned him about what would happen if Swerve messed with the people Brody cared about! Next time Brody sees Swerve, he’ll- Bandido stops Brody there, and says no, no, hermano. Bandido loves you, but this is Bandido’s battle, and Brody needs to respect that.
So Bandido tells Swerve that this is a battle Swerve will not win! Swerve may be the Most Dangerous, but Bandido is the Most Wanted! And after Double or Nothing when Bandido beats Swerve, Swerve won’t be a danger to anyone anymore! Both sides of Brodido have spoken, but will either of them knock down Swerve’s House? Or will Swerve’s thirst for power be satiated with the Owen Hart Cup?

Megan Bayne & Lena Kross established just how dominant they are in the first 5 Minute Challenge last week, yet it seems two more poor souls want to test their might. Will Allie & Kaia at least last longer than the previous team? Or will The Megasus & Aussie Amazon score the fatality?

AEW hears from the four fighting for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
Kris Statlander says, “At Double or Nothing, I face three women, one who I hate, one who I respect, and one who I’m still not sure about.” The hated one, Thekla, says there’s only one way this ends when she’s up against dumb b*tch after dumb b*tch after dumb b*tch. The respected one, Jamie Hayter, says she had the title stripped away from her and it’s eluded her ever since. And the uncertainty, Hikaru Shida, says even though it is every one for themselves, she knows she and Kris will be on the same page, just like always! Kris says y’know who really has her back? Kris herself! That’s all she needs! Jamie warns Thekla that she’s gonna find out, unfinished business is her favorite kind!
Thekla says Double or Nothing, the Toxic Spider destroys New York! A Fatal 4 Way of epic proportions await, will there be nothing left after the dust clears?
Backstage interview with Athena and Mina Shirakawa.
Lexy Nair is with the ROH Women’s World Champion and the Fighting Gravure Idol, and thanks them for accepting the No Physicality Agreement. They are on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Tournament, this has gotta be a tough one. Athena says maybe, maybe not, but the facts are this: Athena has been the ROH Women’s World Champion for over 1252 DAYS, and has left of dozens of bodies in her wake. Pretty sure Mina’s one of them. Mina says last year at All In, Athena broke Mina’s hand. Athena says so what! Last year at Death Before Dishonor, she kicked Mina’s ass all over the arena! Why does Mina think this match will be any different?
Mina laughs and says last night at Supercard, when she locked in the Figure Four on her opponent, she dreamt it was Athena. Athena says Mina is dreaming of her! So flattered! But she hopes Mina has the best dream tonight: Mina’s dead body in a ditch, next to her precious Toni Storm! Mina tells Athena that Mina has dreamt of winning The Owen and the AEW Women’s World title, while ending Athena! She can’t dream anymore, because now she will live it! Athena says sure, sure. They argue, but Lexy keeps them from getting physical! Will the Fallen Goddess be unstoppable even in AEW? Or will The Owen will be about #MinaNow?
Backstage interview with Lio Rush.
Nigel McGuinness tracked down The Problem Child, and walks over. Lio says hey, Nigel! Good to see you! He saw Nigel put in that work last night, he did great. He did really good. Nigel appreciates that, that’s what he wants to talk about. Specifically, what happened between Lio and his former tag team partner, Action Andretti. Action cost Lio the ROH World TV Championship, what is Lio’s response? Lio says it’s all fine! It’s fine! These things happen, Nigel. Losses happen, friends get upset. It’s fine. It’s fine. Lio keeps saying that, and Nigel says that is the official response. Lio again says it’s good to see Nigel.
But then Lio takes off his sunglasses to show off those creepy eyes. He smiles, and that black goo drools out… Lio continues to say it’s fine, but is it anything but fine? Or should Action learn to sleep with one eye open?
Six Man Tag: Mark Davis & The Dogs VS The Rascalz!
Before they team up for Stadium Stampede, the AEW National Champion teams with David Finlay & Clark Connors to test their chemistry. Will Dunkzilla, The Rebel & 100 Proof sink their teeth into Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz & Myron Reed? Or will The Rascalz light ’em up and smoke ’em in Salisbury?

MJF just chuckles and moves on, but he notices the very bald Rick Knox, Bryce Remsburg, and the head of security, David Aponte. And then various bald members of the production staff…
And then even Christopher Daniels & Sonjay Dutt are there! Daniels and Sonjay chuckle before moving on, and then MJF sees John Silver flexing. Brandon Cutler, some arena staff, and even Tommaso Ciampa, all bald. Then last but certainly not least, Ricochet! He tells MJF that don’t worry, he’ll look great. Just not as good as Ricochet. AHA~! MJF storms off, will he have no choice but to choose between gold belt and chrome dome?

While we know the AEW World Tag Team Championship match will be a conglomeration of I Quit Match and New York Street Fight, THE Conglomeration will be waiting on the other side for their own tag title match. And let’s not forget that Matt & Nick Jackson want their own shot at those titles again. With that, can Freshly Squeezed work together with C&C and The Bucks? Or will the Psycho Killer, the Dogs, and the Top Guys all stand tall on the road to Double or Nothing?
The teams sort out and the teams just brawl it out! The fans cheer as The Bucks have The Dogs, Cope is after Ciampa, Christian is after Cash, and Dax brawls with Cassidy! Another star-studded 10 Man Tag, and it was a huge win for all the hungry contenders. Christian doesn’t wanna celebrate, but he does signal that he and Cope will be champions. Will putting their tag team legacy on the line be enough to take the gold? Or will Double or Nothing be the last night that team reeks of awesomeness?
Will Ospreay continues to train with The Death Riders.
They’re outside this time, Claudio Castagnoli playing some wall ball with Marina Shafir and Pac. Daniel Garcia says, “Tonight is the night that we’ve all been waiting for: The Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, is cleared and back on Dynamite. And rumor has it, the kid’s been working real hard and he’s got some new tricks up his sleeves. So Young Boy Billy, tonight you gotta show me something, c’mon.” Garcia gets a quick turn in on wall ball while cameras move over. Ospreay is maintaining a neck bridge while Jon Moxley uses Wheeler Yuta as a living dummy to show just how to push and pull and bend and twist on the various chinlocks and headlocks.
Use the right arm to push against the head, then snake in the left arm for the sleeper. Pry and shoot. Moxley asks how Ospreay feels. Ospreay lets off the bridge and says honestly, the best he’s felt in forever. Moxley asks if Ospreay remembers the night he won the Best of the Super Juniors. Yeah, 2019. AKA a lifetime ago. Ospreay was carefree, flew like a bird, for no other reason than that’s just what birds do. So simple back then, chasing that feeling, like no other feeling in the world. Can’t really grab it in your hands for more than a few seconds. The joy of doing it. Then everybody comes in and tries to make it so overcomplicated.
Years pass, life happens, a family starts, responsibilities show up, bad things happen, bad choices catch up to you, and it’s all weight on your shoulders. You feel like you can’t fly. But Moxley will tell you something: Nothing is different. Nothing has changed. All those things are still gonna be there, but you can still fly. You’re just more dangerous now. You’re a bird of prey. So tonight, when you got out there, don’t go out there to protect anything. Not your neck, your image, your reputation, or what you’ve built in your career. Go out there to give something. Moxley checks on Yuta and says dammit, if you’re gonna snap a headlock, snap the headlock!
Moxley storms off to instruct his pupil, but will Ospreay use everything he has been taught to great effect? Or will he have to fold against Ace Austin?
Chris Jericho speaks.
“You wanna face Jericho in a match of my own design, Ricochet? A spectacle so innovative, so imaginative, it cannot be contained, it can only be witnessed. Well, be careful what you demand, because you’ve made a few enemies yourself, Ricochet. And now a match designed specifically to settle scores without any, and I mean AAANY~, limitations has gotten even bigger.” Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate were just looking for two more, but “Jungle” Jack Perry said he can bring four: himself, The Young Bucks, and KENNY OMEGA! Jericho tells Ricochet that this is no longer what he designed, but it is a devil’s dance of destruction! Ricochet’s destruction!
Ricochet got what he wanted, now can he handle it? Bald. The first-ever SEVEN VS SEVEN Stadium Stampede, who will even survive?
Ricochet & The Demand respond.
They stand with Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family and Ricochet says we all know Jericho does a lot of talking out of his ass while The Demand gets things done. Just like Davis did when he defeated Jack for the AEW National Championship at Fairway to Hell. Hold it with pride, Davis, Ricochet knows you’ll do it well. Davis says he’s got this. Ricochet says Davis has joined the dream team, but he’s not the only one. Because compliments to Ricochet’s golfing buddy, Don Callis, look who else he’s sending: Andrade El Idolo! Gracias, amigo. But it doesn’t stop there, the train keeps rolling. Ricochet was just approached by two guys who have an ax to grind with the superkick sidekicks.
These two wanna fill out the last two spots, so who is Ricochet to say no to The Dogs? Finlay & Connors storm in, and Finlay says to put it simple, they will fight The Bucks in the streets, in the ring, but guess it’s fighting at Double or Nothing! If they want violence, if they want carnage, if they want chaos, who better than The Dogs?! The Dogs bark and Liona roars, but will these seven stand tall in the Big Apple?
“Speedball” Mike Bailey w/ Kevin Knight VS BK Westbrook!

Bailey stays on his feet, then steps over to sit down on a cover, TWO! Westbrook ducks a Penalty Kick, avoids the moonsault, and the sweep! At Stadium Stampede, bring your friends, bring any weapon you want, and I will crack you over the skull with it. Because anything goes. But after that, it’s back to grass roots, because it is you and me, fighting for a shot at the world title at All In: London. That might’ve been Ospreay’s first win by submission ever! He signals that his neck is no longer a problem, and he shows Ace respect for that fight. Ace accepts the handshake again, and Ospreay is moving on towards Double or Nothing with a great amount of momentum. But wait! SAMOA JOE is here! He and The Opps walk out on stage, and with mic in hand, Joe says, “Ospreay, Ospreay… OSPREAY, OSPREAY!” Joe is clearly mocking the chants for Ospreay, and the fans give genuine chanting and even singing in return. Joe says he just wanted to make sure Ospreay was listening, because these past few weeks, it seemed like Ospreay had a hard time hearing him.
Despite Ospreay’s best efforts, fate has put them on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Cup. The fans like the sound of that! Joe say she is here for one reason and one reason alone. He wants to speak about choices and consequences. Ospreay could’ve made the right choice and get a bye in this tournament, because that is what Joe would do for one of his friends. But Ospreay chose poorly. He could’ve been with the team that would do nothing but support and enhance Ospreay, but he decided to be a lapdog for Moxley and the Death Riders. The fans boo, Ospreay says he’s not a Death Rider.
Joe says Ospreay has made his choice, and come Double or Nothing, Joe makes Ospreay suffer the consequences. But Joe leaves Ospreay in peace tonight, for he has his date with destiny. But unfortunately, Joe’s friends, Katsuyori Shibata & Anthony Bowens, still feel slighted, and he doesn’t put leashes on his friends. Shibata & Bowens storm down the ramp, Ospreay ready to fight them both if he has to. But then The Death Riders appear! Ospreay may not have officially joined the club, but the Death Riders aren’t going to let their investment go to waste! The Opps say they’re #NeverLacking, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now!
Shibata & Bowens back down while Moxley, Marina, Claudio, Yuta, Garcia & Pac all step up to support Ospreay. Joe says, “Soon. Soon.” The fans cheer the Death Riders, or at least Moxley, but Bowens promises Joe is gonna kill you, Ospreay! The dream match for Double or Nothing is on, but will the training with The Death Riders make Ospreay the new King of Harts?

The Scumbag tells Konosuke that while it’s been a minute since the two of them have talked, three years actually, back when MJF beat him… MJF has seen Konosuke develop into truly one of the best wrestlers in the world!
MJF believes that tonight, Konosuke beats Darby for the title, goes to DON to beat Okada, and MJF can’t think of a better match than Konosuke VS MJF Part 2 for the world title. How’s that sound? MJF offers a handshake, Konosuke shakes his hand, but in Japanese, Konosuke tells MJF that he’ll beat the crap out of him. Thankfully, MJF doesn’t know Japanese. Callis says that was a nice pep talk MJF just gave, and MJF says yes, he knows. That kid needs to win, okay? MJF can’t let Darby turn him into some disgusting, bald freak! No offense, Callis looks great. But look, there is only one foolproof way to know MJF won’t be put in that situation.
So if things get hairy… MJF hands over the Dynamite Diamond Ring! Callis smiles, and say she understands what to do with it. But then in steps Andrade. El Idolo takes off his hat to shake out his amazing head of hair, and smiles at MJF. MJF frowns and leaves. Callis says here’s the deal: Takeshita will bring the world title home to the Don Callis Family tonight! Andrade asks, “How you know?” Callis says aye dios mio, he seriously doesn’t know where Andrade learned English. Andrade says one way or another, the next time, that will be HIS title. Callis says yes, he knows, it’s all good. Callis is a man of many talents, but will his family be dripping with gold thanks to a diamond ring?
AEW now announces the Women’s Owen Hart Memorial Tournament brackets!
Double or Nothing will see Willow Nightingale, the reigning Queen of Harts, take on Alex Windsor, while we will see Persephone VS Hazuki, Skye Blue vs Sareee, and Mina Shirakawa VS Athena! Champions from around the world are gathering for this tournament, but who will be headed to Forbidden Door, and then All In: London?
Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.
Renee Paquette is now with Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Willow Nightingale. Renee commends Cassidy on his part in the 10 Man Tag victory. But it seems that there is even more business to attend to. Cassidy says yes, the team has a shot at THE AEW World Tag Team Championships. It doesn’t matter who it is, they’re getting their shot, but the thing is… They still haven’t decided on which two will be. Kyle says Cassidy & Roddy should go for the gold, but Roddy shouts, “KYYYLE~! Thank you.” Kyle says of course. But that’s cuz he’s got gold to chase for himself!
The same man that put Kyle on the shelf for months is the man that Kyle submitted twice, and will submit again. Jon Moxley, Continental Champion, when are we doing this? Willow says speaking of gold, she is still the TBS Champion. But she is also in the Owen Hart Cup. She won this tournament before, she’ll do it all over again, so that she can have all the gold for herself at All In: London. She knows she can, and she will! Then Conglomeration has it all in order? Cassidy says hold on, there’s something missing. They should do a Word of the Day. Why haven’t they done one in so long? Roddy shouts for “MAAARK~!” And yes, Mark Briscoe returns!
The Sussex County Chicken is all fired up, and he says the Word of the day is reunification! For Mark Briscoe is back with his boys and his girls, The Conglomeration! But he’ll put this plain and simple: Tommaso Ciampa! Next Wednesday, Briscoe’s after your ass, son! You hear him? But before that, Saturday Night Collision is in HIS hometown, Salisbury, Maryland! That’s just 4.4 miles from where Briscoe originated on this earth! They’re gonna conglomerate and it’s gonna be a a hell of a time! Are you ready!? Willow and Kyle are fired up, Briscoe goes wild, and the team heads out. Cassidy admits, that was a lot of yelling.
But while The Conglomeration is ready to go Double or Nothing, will they soon have even more gold in the collection? Or are these high and lofty a little too much even for them?
Six Woman Tag: Hikaru Shida & The Brawling Birds VS The Triangle of Madness!
With the news of both the AEW Women’s World Championship Fatal 4 Way for Double or Nothing, and the Owen Hart Cup brackets, this trios match is about much more than just settling scores! Will the Shining Samurai be just as sharp as Jamie Hayter going into that title match? Or will Thekla, Skye Blue & Julia Hart continue to bring them down by any means necessary?
The trios sort out and Jamie steps up against Thekla as both a rematch from their 1v1 title match, and a preview of what’s to come in the next. They circle, but then Skye CLOBBERS Jamie! Julia steps in, but so do Shida and Windsor! The Triangle throws hands on Shida & The Birds, then triple whip. But all three reverse, a BOOT for Thekla, a DDT for Skye, and a BACKBREAKER for Julia! Skye and Windsor trade shots, they wobble a bit, then Skye DECKS Windsor! Skye keeps from falling into the crowd, but Jamie gets her! Windsor joins in and the Birds double gorilla press, SNAKE EYES off the apron! The fans fire up, but Thekla is up top! SUPER CROSSBODY onto The Birds!
The fans fire up again and Thekla is feeling it while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Thekla stomps Windsor, CLUBS Jamie, then helps Skye. But Shida runs up, only for Thekla to ELBOW her down! The Triangle has control again, they ROCK Jamie and Shida and Windsor, then send them all to the desk. The Triangle CHOP again and again and again! Then they wind up, but feint chops to SMACK all three off the apron! The Triangle soaks up the cheers and jeers before putting Jamie back in the ring. Thekla brings Jamie up, snapmares her down, then basement SUPERKICKS! Cocky cover, TWO! Thekla drags Jamie to the corner, tags Julia, and Julia runs up to LARIAT! Then she goes side to side to ELBOW Jamie down!
Julia snapmares Jamie to a cover, TWO! Julia is annoyed but she rains down fists. The ref reprimands, Julia stops, but then she sucker punches Windsor! And Shida, too! Julia then drags Jamie over, bumps her off buckles, and tags in Skye. Skye stomps Jamie around, then digs her boot in! The ref counts, Skye stops at 4, then she brings Jamie up. Jamie fires forearms and CHOPS, but Skye THROWS Jamie down by her hair! The ref reprimands again but Skye rains down forearms. Skye snapmares Jamie, mule kicks her, then covers, TWO! Skye frowns but she stomps Jamie down. Skye tags Julia while Dynamite returns to single picture.
Skye whips Jamie into Julia’s grasp, and Skye BLASTS Shida & Windsor while Julia tags Thekla. Julia has Jamie in the TARANTULA, and Skye sends Windsor in for Thekla’s HANGING HEADSCISSORS! Skye runs up to DOUBLE SHOTGUN The Birds! The fans are torn but Thekla says that’s how the Triangle does it, baby! Thekla then aims to MISSILE- NO, Jamie gest under! Thekla lands out, but Jamie BOOTS her down! Jamie looks at Shida, Shida is hesitant, but Shida tags in! The fans cheer as Shida sends Theknla to the corner, then JUMP KNEES! Shida keeps moving, she BLASTS Skye! Julia ROCKS Shida back!
Julia storms in but Shida kicks her and whips her into Thekla! Shida KNEES them both in the corner! Then Shida puts Thekla sideways in the corner, reels Julia in, and she snap suplexes Julia into Thekla! The fans fire up as Shida then suplexes Thekla high and hard! Cover, TWO! Shida stands Thekla up, Thekla swings but Shida ROCKS her first! And ROCKS her again! Thekla wobbles, swings, but Shida catches Thekla for another forearm! Shida runs the ropes but Thekla mule kicks! Thekla SMACKS Shida, then she dodges a boot to DECK Shida! Thekla talks trash on Shida, then drags her up to tag in Julia.
Julia tags Skye, then tag back to Thekla. The Sisters of Sin hit the DOUBLE GOURD BUSTER and DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! Thekla hits the bridge, and she aims for the SPIDER SPEAR! Cover, but The Birds CLOBBER The Sisters of Sin onto it! The fans fire up a Windsor DECKS Skye and Jamie HEADBUTTS Julia! The Birds drag Shida to safety, Windsor tags in, and she CLOBBERS Thekla! Windsor CLUBS away, then fires the fans up. Jamie steps in, BOOT RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP COMBO! Basement LARIAT! And then Windsor lifts! Jamie runs up, but Skye trips Jamie! The fans boo but Skye sends Jamie into steel steps!
Thekla sends Windsor into buckles! Tag to Julia before Shida runs up, TAMASHII KNEE on Thekla! Skye SUPERKICKS Shida! Jamie is back to clinch and HAYTBREAKER! Julia runs up, slips around, SOLE FOOD! Julia kips up, but Windsor is there to whip Julia to ropes! Skye tags in before the SPINEBUSTER! Skye SUPERKICKS Windsor, then brings her up! Skye hops on, CODE- NO, Windsor pops free! Skye SUPERKICKS again, but Windsor HEADBUTTS! The fans fire up as Jamie joins in again, and they DOUBLE LARIAT SANDWICH! Then they set Skye up, and Jamie says let’s try this again!
Jamie runs the ropes, but Thekla slides in, BELT SHOT on Jamie!! No question that the ref saw that! The Triangle is disqualified!
Winners: Hikaru Shida & The Brawling Birds, by disqualification
The Toxic Spider doesn’t care about this win, she just wants to do damage! Skye gets Windsor in a DRAGON SLEEPER! The ref stops Thekla from sing the title belt again, so Thekla just takes off her own belt! And she LASHES Windsor while Skye holds her down! More refs rush out here, but Julia MISTS the newbie in the face! Julia stomps away on Jamie, not caring about fines or consequences, either! The fans boo, and Shida is bailing on the Birds? Shida cares more about her chances in that Fatal 4 Way than anything else. But then Willow, Mina, and even Thunder Rosa rush out here! They chase The Triangle off with belts of their own!
The fans cheer as The Babe, the Fighting Gravure Idol & La Mera Mera save the day. But will Jamie make sure Thekla and Shida pay for this at Double or Nothing?
AEW World Championship: Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita!
They say “card subject to change,” and that is true even for the best in the world. Kazuchika Okada’s real family takes priority, but his Don Callis Family brother was more than happy to step up for this opportunity. Will The Alpha already have two belts by the time he and The Rainmaker battle over the International Championship? Or will Darby truly be relentless in his pursuit of being the best fighting champion in AEW history?
The introductions are made, THE belt is raised, and we see who goes to Double or Nothing on top!
Callis joins commentary to say that while Darby’s been breaking his own body, Konosuke has perfected “rejuvenation training,” aka relaxing on a beach and sipping sake! The bell rings, and Darby SHOTGUNS Konosuke out! Then Darby DIVES, but Konosuke catches him! Konosuke POSTS Darby, then THROWS him into railing! Konosuke THROWS Darby into the ring, the fans fire up for both guys, and Konosuke hurries to BOOT Darby off the apron! Darby falls in front of commentary but Konosuke gets him right back in the ring. Cover, ONE!! The fans rally as Darby shows his grit, but Konosuke snarls.
Konosuke drags Darby up, Darby fires forearms, but the ALPHA ELBOW knocks Darby down! The fans fire up while Konosuke looms over Darby. Konosuke stands Darby up, and THROWS him into a corner! Darby bounces off the buckles and is bleeding from the mouth already! Konosuke stands Darby up, hoists him up top, then he climbs up after him. But Darby BITES Konosuke, CLUBS him down, and leaps for a CROSSBODY, but he bounces off Konosuke! The fans fire up again as Konosuke whips Darby for a BACKDROP! Darby got serious hangtime there, and he flounders out of the ring. Darby coughs and sputters but the fans rally up.
Konosuke goes out after Darby but Darby SMACKS him! Konosuke KNEES low, KNEES him again and again and again! Konosuke KNEES Darby against the barriers, then refreshes the count. Konosuke whips Darby hard into railing! Darby sputters as he leans against the railing, but Konosuke positions the steel steps. Konosuke then fetches Darby, lines up a shot, but Darby fights the suplex! Darby CLAWS Konosuke’s back, then fires a shot. Konosuke DECKS Darby in return! Darby slumps against the steps, Konosuke runs up, but Darby dodges! Konosuke’s knees hit the steps and he tumbles over! Darby then runs up the steps to SHOTGUN Konosuke down!
The fans fire up while both men are down on the floor! Konosuke checks his knee before he crawls around, and Darby gets in the ring so he can build speed! Darby DIVES! Direct hit on Konosuke but Darby’s the one who hits the desk! The fans fire up while both men are down again, but Darby rises up to get Konosuke on the apron! Darby fires forearms, then goes up a corner! COFFIN- NO, Konosuke catches him for a SUPER BLUE THUNDER BOMB to the floor!! The fans go nuts again and Callis says that’s the end of Darby Allin, but Dynamite goes picture in picture.
The ref hurries to check Darby but Callis tells Doc Sampson to call it. Darby is somehow still in this, so Konosuke storms his way over. Konosuke drags Darby up, puts him in the ring, then paces around him. Konosuke runs the ropes to LARIAT! Darby flips inside-out, Konosuke covers him, TWO!! Darby still has fight inside but he’s also dazed. Konosuke clamps onto Darby with a chinlock and squeezes tight. Darby endures, even as Konosuke leans on him with his much-taller frame. Darby reaches out, fights around, and rises up, only for Konosuke to CANADIAN RACK BOMB! Darby sputters all over again while Dynamite returns to single picture.
Konosuke sits back as he watches Darby crawl to the apron. Konosuke storms his way over, but Darby RAMS low! Slingshot sunset flip, but Konosuke rolls through! Only for Darby to kick the legs out! Darby catches Konosuke to a GUILLOTINE! Konosuke endures the squeeze, fights up to his feet, and he powers out to THROW Darby! Darby lands out, fires shots, and RAMS low! Darby then hops on, but Konosuke stops Code Red! Konosuke swings Darby around, tucks him in, BASTARD DRIVER! And WHEELBARROW GERMAN! The fans fire up and Callis says that’s true power! Bridging cover, TWO!!! Callis is freaking out as much as the fans, and he protests the count! Konosuke is furious, but he aims for the WAGAMAMA KNEE!!! Cover, TWO?!?! Darby survives by nanoseconds, and Konosuke is beside himself! “This is Awesome!” but now CLØN rushes out here! He distracts the ref, and Callis hurries to take the Dynamite Diamond Ring off his finger to put it in Konosuke’s hands! Konosuke thinks about it, but The Alpha has honor!
The fans cheer as Konosuke wants to do this his way! But then Darby runs up, cradles, TWO!! Konosuke escapes, ALPHA ELBOW!! Darby is down, dazed, but still moving! Konosuke drags Darby up again, goes back to the corner and back to the top rope. The fans hope these two “FIGHT FOREVER!” but it has to end somehow! Darby fights against the lift with headlock punches! Then he hops on, SUPER CODE RED!! Konosuke staggers up, Darby leg scissors, steps through, LAST SUPPER!! TWO?!?! Konosuke escapes again, then bails out! So Darby just goes up top! SUPER COFFIN DROP!! Direct hit and both men are down again!
The fans are thunderous as Konosuke and Darby stir. A ring count climbs, Callis complains that some people just gotta follow directions and run the play! Coach Callis pulled Konosuke outta obscurity, Konosuke would do anything! Now he’s got some gold, some fame, and gets a mind of his own! Callis complaining aside, the ring count is climbing! Darby drags himself in at 9, but Konosuke YANKS him back out! That refreshes the count, and Konosuke vows to end this for real now. Konosuke points to the steel steps, and he drags Darby up onto them with a deadlift RAGING- NO, Darby knees Konosuke, turns things around, and FULL METAL SCORPION DEATH DROP!!!
The fans go nuts again while Konosuke writhes! Konosuke flops off the steps, Darby crawls into the ring, and Darby just climbs the corner again! SUPER DUPER COFFIN DROP!!! Konosuke might be unconscious! Darby still hauls Konosuke into the ring, pushes him to a cover, TWO?!?!? Konosuke survives and Darby is furious! But Darby just reloads, COFFIN DROP but onto knees!!! Ghost pin, TWO!!! Darby escapes but the WAGAMAMA KNEE finds him!! Konosuke hauls Darby up, but Darby pops free! Trip, step through, and SCORPION DEATH LOCK!!! Konosuke endures, reaches out, but Darby sits deep!!
Callis says don’t even think about it! Konosuke almost does, but he bites his own thumb to ignore the pain in his back! Konosuke reaches out, crawls his way forward, and he fights to the ROPEBREAK!!! But Darby is right up top! COFFION DROP on the back!! Then Darby goes right back up, COFFIN DROP again!!! Cover, DARBY WINS!!
Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)
Callis is steaming, but Darby overcomes Konosuke to avenge that loss in the Continental Classic! But it also took so much out of him just to do it! Darby still asks for a mic and one is brought to him. Darby sits up against the ropes, has them cut his music, and he tells MJF to get his ass out here! There’s a contract MJF needs to sign! The ring crew hurries to bring in a table and some chairs for that very contract signing, and MJF makes his entrance. MJF reluctantly makes his way down the ramp, and both men meet at the table. Darby grins with blood still in hiss teeth, and he signs his part of the contract without hesitation, unlike MJF.
The fans already chant “BALD! BALD! BALD!” at MJF, and Darby pushes the contract to his side of the table. MJF grabs the pen, reaches out, but then steps away. MJF scratches his chin as he thinks on this, and the fans just chant, “BALD! BALD! BALD!” again. MJF takes a mic to say he’ll explain something to Darby, looking like he has rabies. But see, MJF is happy for Darby, he hopes Darby’s had fun holding MJF’s AEW World Championship. The fans boo that, but MJF says deep down, there is a small part of him, like the size of a North Carolinian p*nis small. That small part of MJF feels bad for Darby, because he’ll never hold this again!
Darby’s got about a good a chance of holding this title as Hangman Adam Page does again. MJF says guys like Darby are a dime a dozen, here today and gone tomorrow, stuntmen who burn the candle at both ends. In this life, people like all these fans here like to pretend that life is about making friends and family and children. The only thing that matters in life is your legacy. And Darby’s legacy will be that of the kid who had his 15 minutes of fame. They’ll pretend like Darby made a lasting impact, but the fact of the matter is, he hasn’t. He hasn’t! They’ll know deep down that Darby Allin was just a little pr*ck who got lucky.
They’ll know that Darby was too reckless and stupid to stay on top. And after May 24th, Double or Nothing, in that sh*thole of Queens, New York, y’know what MJF’s legacy will be? He’ll go down as the guy who became a THREE-TIME World Champion at just 30 years of age, unprecedented in this sport. And MJF will go down, when it’s all said and done, as the Greatest of All Time! THAT is the difference between them! Darby Allin brags about climbing a mountaintop. But when it comes to professional wrestling, Maxwell Jacob Friedman IS the mountaintop! The fans boo but MJF soaks it up. Darby tells MJF to SHUT UP!
Only someone like MJF who is so vain would think that the number one most important thing in this world is his legacy. Darby doesn’t care about legacy, he cares about living in the moment! And in this moment, Darby just wants MJF to sign the contract. Then at Double or Nothing, Darby makes Maxwell Jacob Friedman a BALLD HEADED B*TCH!! MJF frowns but the fans cheer that! MJF grabs the pen again, and with no choice, he signs on the dotted line! Then he TACKLES Darby! The fans boo as MJF beats up Darby after the war he went through with Konosuke! MJF CHUCKS an armchair outta the ring, FLIPS the table, then picks up his Dynamite Diamond Ring.
MJF puts the ring on his finger like always, then winds up to DECK Darby!! The fans boo but MJF just soaks it all up. MJF throws off his jacket, picks up the belt, and he stands over Darby with it. But then MJF isn’t done with Darby, he puts Darby on the top rope! MJF climbs up to join him, and drags Darby into position! But wait! Kevin Knight runs out here to chase MJF off! The Jet still owes The Scumbag a receipt, but it seems we’ll all have to wait on that. Will MJF still take back the title at Double or Nothing? Or will Darby keep the belt and take MJF’s dignity?
My Thoughts:
An awesome episode for Dynamite as things heat up towards Double or Nothing. Awesome 10 Man Tag to open, great win for the Faces, not that it added much to FTR VS C&C. Good promo from Jericho to look back on Stadium Stampede and hype up this year’s match. Good promo from The Demand with Davis and The Dogs, and I suppose this maximizes the feuds as well as the alliances throughout the locker room. Who knows who wins but the match will still be awesome, just as the original was. Good promo from Conglomeration, too, Cassidy & Roddy going after FTR while Kyle VS Moxley happens on the side, that’s great stuff.
Speaking of Moxley, great promo from him and Ospreay. Moxley’s semi-turn has really brought out his sage philosophical side. Great match from Ospreay VS Ace, and while Ospreay could always bring out his aggression, seeing him use more technical wrestling and even winning with a submission is good stuff. Good promo from Joe, and I liked Death Riders backing Ospreay up. Very good Owen Hart Cup brackets this year, Joe VS Ospreay is a great choice given this story, but I would think Ospreay wins that one. Good promo from Jack Perry to call out Davis, and I suppose Jack can win in the Owen Cup to then move on from the National title.
Great seeing Brian Cage back, he gave Knight an awesome match, but with JetSpeed wanting to go on a Two Man Power Trip, it makes sense Kevin won out. Same for Bailey beating Westbrook, even though Westbrook maybe went too hard on his own acrobatic escape. Great stuff in the Six Woman Tag, and I appreciate Shida didn’t ditch until after the match. Willow, Mina & Rosa might get their own Six Woman Tag with Triangle of Madness after that interaction, but also can’t wait to see if Willow can go back-to-back as Queen of Harts. For that matter, I personally would love to see Athena use the Owen Cup to move on from being ROH Women’s World Champion, but that depends on how Supercard of Honor goes this Friday.
And of course, another wild instant classic from Darby as he overcomes Takeshita. I knew the diamond ring would come into play with that reverse effect, good way of protecting Takeshita in the loss. Good stuff with MJF tonight, too, such as the opening segment’s parade of bald men to send the message to MJF. That was also a unique contract signing segment in that it came together so quickly after the main event match. Good stuff from MJF as always, and of course he attacks Darby. I feel like either Knight should not have made the save, or both parts of JetSpeed should’ve made the save. It just seems odd that only Knight cared about saving Darby. The closing moment was much better when it was MJF standing over Darby with the belt.
My Score: 9/10
