Who are the lovebirds wearing and how are they feeling? Sammy says Chicago loves America’s Favorite Champions! Fans boo, actually. But Sammy says what the fans really want to see is SamTay make out. Tay agrees, they kiss, a lot, and RJ feels awkward. But honk honk honk! Who is that? Sammy & Tay go looking because this noise is disturbing their good times. Wait! On the golf cart, sans canopy, is Soho & Ortiz! And they’ve got war paint on! RUN, SAMTAY, RUN!!

Sammy knows they’re not fast enough to outrun the cart so he shoves Tay to safety before he gets CLOBBERED! Sammy just can’t seem to get away from cart based vehicular assault. Ortiz goes after Sammy while Ruby SMACKS Tay with the trash! Chicago fires up as Ortiz takes the can and SMACKS Sammy! Ortiz then gives Sammy a back suplex onto the cart’s hood! Ruby is carrying Tay to the ring, then Ortiz does the same with Sammy! Ruby sets Tay down to then RAM her into steel steps! Ortiz puts Sammy in the ring, and the match begins!

Zero Hour – AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships: Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo VS Ortiz & Ruby Soho!

Sammy BOOTS Ortiz down, taunts the fans, but Ruby ROCKS Sammy! The ref reprimands because this isn’t a co-ed match! Ruby still shoves Sammy to ropes, and Sammy dodges Ortiz, only to run into Ruby’s DDT! Ortiz fireman’s carries for the DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Ruby runs in to SPIKE-RANA! Ortiz covers, TWO! Ortiz keeps cool and he tags Ruby in. That technically makes Tay legal, but Ortiz CLAWS Sammy’s back! Rawr! Ortiz whips Sammy into the corner, whips Ruby in, but Sammy goes up and over to SCREW KICK Ortiz! Ruby BOOTS Sammy, goes up and reels him in, and she punches away on an already bloody forehead!

Ruby then leans back, but Sammy holds off the Poison-Rana! Tay runs in to BOOT Ruby down! Then SamTay kiss again. Fans boo but Sammy just soaks up the heat. Tay pushes Ruby around, also soaks up the heat, then gives Ruby a kiss! Fans still boo but Tay CLUBS away on Ruby. Tay kisses Sammy but Ruby SAIDO SUPLEXES Tay down! Ruby and Tay crawl for their corners, hot tag to Ortiz! Sammy jumps in but Ortiz rallies with elbows! Ortiz whips, Sammy reverses but Ortiz rolls and LARIATS! Fans fire up and Ortiz swivels them hips! Ortiz dragon sleepers, inverted suplexes Sammy, then sets him up for Ruby! She goes up top, but Tay trips her up!

Tay ROCKS Ortiz, Sammy runs but Ortiz reels him in, Sammy elbows back, Tay gets in, and Sammy gives Tay a boost to hit a DESTROYER! Sammy then climbs to the top rope, pushing Ruby aside to SWANTON BOMB! Cover, TWO!! Ortiz even rakes the eyes as he kicks out! Sammy flounders, Tay hurries over, Ruby MISSILE DROPICK SENTONS, taking them both out! Fans fire up as all four people are down! Tay tells the ref something is in her eye, but this is just a distraction so Anna “Jay A.S.” can sneak out here! Anna trips Ruby off the apron, then whips, but Ruby reverses and Anna hits steel steps! Revenge for the initial screw job a few weeks ago!

Tay sees what happened and eggs Ruby on! Ruby gets in the ring while Sammy SUPERKICKS Ortiz! Tay catches Ruby for the arm hooks and Gory Especial! Tay calls to Sammy and Sammy drags Ortiz up to torture rack! SamTay kiss, but Ortiz lands out of GTH and Ruby spins out of Tay-KO! NO FUTURE KICK for Tay, LARIAT for Sammy! Double cover, TWO!! SamTay survives but fans fire up for Ruby & Ortiz! Ortiz clotheslines Sammy and himself out of the ring! Ortiz brings Sammy up and Ruby is up top! But Tay ROCK Ruby first! Tay climbs up after Ruby, Ruby resists but Tay still SUPERPLEXES her onto Ortiz and Sammy on the floor!!

Fans fire up as Tay wobbles and drags Ruby back up. Tay puts Ruby in the ring, but Ruby blocks the kick to KNEE back! Tay wobbles again and Ruby runs, but Sammy distracts the ref so Anna can trip Ruby up! Ruby BOOTS Anna back but Tay gets Ruby for a BUCKLE BOMB! Especial to TAY K O!! Cover, SamTay win!

Zero Hour – FTW Championship: Hook VS Angelo Parker w/ Matthew Menard!

The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil truly lives by the motto of “actions speak louder than words.” And to date, he’s been pretty “loudly” dominating his opponents. But the JAS’s “Cool Hand Ange” wants to know: What if Hook faces some real competition? The real question is, will Parker like the answer Hook gives him?

The introductions are raised, the belt is raised, and we see what happens when someone actually wants AEW to #SendHook!

Hook and Parker circle, tie up, and go around. Parker puts Hook on ropes, dribbles him, but Hook switches to hammerlock! Parker reaches back to pull hair but the ref reprimands. Parker switches the hammerlock onto Hook, but Hook immediately puts it back on Parker. Hook then floats to a facelock and he drags Parker to the mat. Parker endures and fights up to power up, but Hook holds on tight! Parker pushes Hook back to a corner but Hook pushes Parker back to center. Hook then headlocks, shifts, hammerlocks, headlocks and hits the takeover! Parker scrambles away but Hook is after him, but Parker gets in the ropes.

Menard gets on the apron to protest, but he also distracts the ref, and Parker sucker punches Hook! Daddy Magic laughs as he backs away, and Parker brings Hook up to whip him into the ropes! Parker claws at Hook’s face but the ref counts. Parker lets off, has Hook in the corner and he throws hands. Parker stands Hook up, snap suplexes, then covers, TWO! Parker drags Hook up and smooths his hands through his own hair. But Hook throws body shots! Parker ROCKS Hook, then scrapes laces on Hook’s face! The fans rally for Hook but Parker grins. Parker whips Hook and DROPKICKS him down!

Daddy Magic is the only one cheering “the beauty” of that dropkick while fans boo. Parker taunts Hook, pushes him around, then throws hands. Parker says he’s exposing Hook! “Where’s the bad man? Where’s the myth?” Hook  shoves then HEADBUTTS Parker! Parker says his nose is broken and the ref checks, but this is a distraction so Menard can hook Hook’s foot! Hook doesn’t budge, and he STOMPS Menard’s hands! Hook storms up on Parker, blocks the haymaker and hits a SAYANAGI! And then a knee to another SAYANAGI! Parker staggers into the EXPLODER! Fans fire up for Hook as he paces around.

Hook drags Parker from the ropes but Parker BOOTS him! Parker puts Hook in a corner but Hook turns things around to fire body shots! Hook backs Parker down to a corner, fires off more, but Parker pulls hair to ROCK Hook! Parker tells fans Hook is doing nothing! But then he walks right into the EL CAMINO! Parker flounders to a corner, Hook runs in, but Parker goes up and over! Parker suplexes Hook, Hook slips out and has the REDRUM!! Parker flails, but he TAPS!! Hook wins!!

Winner: Hook, by submission (still FTW Champion)

Hook drops Parker, but Menard CLOBBERS Hook! Fans boo as Menard stomps a mudhole into Hook in the corner! The ref reprimands but Menard gets Parker up. Menard grabs the belt, but here comes ACTION BRONSON! Friend to Hook and the man behind Hook’s theme song, Bronson gets in the ring to throw Menard away! And SLAM Parker down! Fans fire up for Bronson daring Parker & Menard to return, and they definitely consider it. But then Hook stands back up and they don’t want any more! Will Daddy Magic get his own turn at fighting for the FTW title? And will Hook make him regret it?

 

AEW All-Atlantic Championship: PAC VS Kip Sabian!

As the inaugural champion, The Bastard took this title on a tour of the UK. And every step of the way, Kip was stalking him in his box head get-up. But now that Kip is back, will he finally get gold like what he’s always wanted? Or will Pac make this return to the ring very bad for Mr. Superbad?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if the inaugural reign continues!

Kip and Pac circle, tie up, and Pac puts Kip on ropes. The ref counts the ropebreak, Pac lets off slowly, and Kip taunts Pac. Pac snapmares Kip, Kip gets up and runs to BOOT Pac! Kip then stomps a mudhole in the corner until the ref backs him off. Fans boo Kip but he runs corner to corner to CANNONBALL! Kip soaks up the cheers and jeers, has them grow louder and quieter, up and down, then laughs. Pac bails out of the ring but Kip pursues. Pac gets in the ring then stomps Kip on the return! Pac drags Kip up, scoops him, carries him, and SLAMS him in a drop zone! Pac goes up and fans fire up, but Kip GAMANGIRIS first!

Kip goes up after Pac, brings him to the top, but Pac fights with body shots. Pac shoves Kip, Kip rolls back and gets under the leap. Pac comes back but is put on the apron. Kip ducks the backhand to FLYING CHUCK! Fans fire up as Pac slumps off the apron. Kip slingshots, Pac moves, but Kip faked him out! Pac is annoyed that he fell for it, then he runs in. Pac rushes Kip but Kip dumps him out! Fans chant “Underrated! OVER IT!” for Kip as he ARABIAN PRESSES Pac down! Fans fire up as Kip grins with a maniacal look in his eyes. Kip drags Pac up, puts Pac in the ring, and Pac scrambles to the far side.

Pac bails out again but fans rally up. Kip goes around the outside, storms up on Pac and he blocks the kick to KNEE back! Kip reels Pac in, suplexes and drapes Pac on the railing, but Pac fights that off to suplex Kip, BRAINBUSTER to the floor! Fans fire up while both men are down and the ring count climbs. Pac stands at 6 of 10, refreshes the count at 7, then he brings Kip up. Pac whips Kip hard into railing! Kip writhes but Pac drags him up. Pac puts Kip in the ring, BOOTS Kip down, then stalks him to ropes. Pac digs his boots in but the ref counts. Pac lets off and glares at the ref, but goes back to Kip with another BOOT!

Pac stomps Kip in the corner, grinds his boots in, but lets off as the ref counts. Kip sputters and fans are torn but Pac keeps his focus. Pac drags Kip up, snapmares Kip and sits him up to dropkick him in the back of the head! Cover, TWO! Pac tells the ref to count faster, then he stalks Kip. Kip sits up and Pac BOOTS him back down! Kip slaps himself to try and get the cobwebs out. Fans rally and Pac taunts Kip. Kip sits up and Pac shouts, “Is this the competition, huh?!” Kip stands up, leaning against Pac, but Kip throws a forearm! Pac says to put some power into it! Kip fires another forearm but Pac still eggs him on!

Kip fires off forearms but Pac gives them all back! Kip drops to his knees and Pac revels in the cheers and jeers. Kip holds up his hand, and… Is he pulling on an invisible string to stand himself up? Kip HEADBUTTS Pac! Both men wobble, Kip runs, but into a BOOT! Pac runs, but into an UPPERCUT! Kip runs but fakes Pac out to POP-UP KNEE and ROLLING HAYMAKER! Then a SNAP DRAGON SUPLEX! Pac flounders and fans fire up with Kip! But Pac dodges Kip to SNAP GERMAN! Both men are down and fans fire up more! A standing count starts, both men are down at 5 of 10 but the fans rally up.

Pac sits up at 6 while Kip goes to the far side. Pac stands at 7, he sees Kip is in a drop zone! Pac hurries to the corner and climbs up! Fans fire up, but Kip rolls to the opposite side. Pac is frustrated and hops down. Pac storms over but Kip blocks the punch! Kip bumps Pac off buckles, then jumps in to TORNADO DDT! Kip hurries to get Pac up, hang him out to dry, MAGIC SCREW! Cover, TWO! Kip fisherman’s the leg, FISHERMAN DRIVER! Cover, TWO!! The Bastard survives and Kip is a bit shocked! Kip goes to the corner, and he asks the box what to do? Kip seems to get a response, and he drags Pac back up.

Kip torture racks but Pac pulls an ear! Pac slips off, the ref reprimands, Pac lets go of the ear to DECK Kip with a forearm! Kip flounders and Pac stomps him down! Pac stomps Kip more and more, and fans fire up as Kip eggs him on! Pac stomps Kip again, then drags him to the drop zone. Pac goes up top, takes aim, BLACK ARROW!! Cover, Pac wins!

Winner: PAC, by pinfall (still AEW All-Atlantic Champion)

The Bastard is 4-0 in defending the All-Atlantic Championship and the reign continues! Tony Schiavone interviews Pac on stage, congratulating him on the win. That was the first defense in the states, and Pac says he’ll explain what he’s looking for. Wait! Jefferson Starship’s Jane starts up, because here comes ORANGE CASSIDY! Pac has history with The Freshly Squeezed, and Pac tells him, “NO! Orange Cassidy, we have been here before, and you know exactly how that ended. You are not a wrestler, you are a joke. Get to the back of the line!” Pac storms off, but if Cassidy is at the back of the line, does that mean he can fight his way to the front?

As for Kip, he’s yelling at the box! Wait, he’s yelling at the box? Kip says it’s the box’s fault he lost, but what exactly is going on in Kip’s head?

 

Zero Hour – Tomohiro Ishii VS Eddie Kingston!

The Stone Pitbull won at NJPW Capital Collision in Washington, DC, but a lot can change in four months. Will the Mad King break through this pillar of Strong Style? Or will Ishii show it’s still too soon for Kingston to think he’s at the top?

The bell rings and the fans fire up as the two tie up. They’re in a deadlock so they break. They tie up again, but break again. Fans duel between “EDDIE!” and “ISHII!” They go again, are in another deadlock, but Eddie pushes Ishii. Ishi CHOPS, so Eddie brings down the straps! Eddie CHOPS Ishii, but Ishii CHOPS Eddie! Eddie CHOPS Ishii again, but Ishii CHOPS Eddie again! Eddie CHOPS, Ishii CHOPS, repeat! And repeat, and repeat, and repeat! Fans are loving the CHOP battle as it rages on, CHOP for CHOP! Both men’s chests are turning reddish-purple! CHOP, CHOP! CHOP, CHOP! CHOP, CHOP!!

Fans are giving this a standing ovation over just the unending CHOPS! Both men finally stop for a moment, stinging and staggering, but then the CHOPS start up again! CHOP, CHOP, but then Ishii gets the edge! Eddie just roars and DOUBLE CHOPS Ishii off his feet!! Both men are down and fans are thunderous! Eddie rises again and the fans are all behind him! Eddie drags Ishii up but Ishii throws forearms! Eddie just CHOPS again! Ishii CHOPS again! Eddie staggers to a corner, Ishii staggers to the other! Eddie comes back to CHOP! Ishii staggers back into the corner, but he eggs Eddie on! Eddie CHOPS again! And again!

Ishii puts Eddie in the corner to CHOP and forearm over and over and over! Fans fire up as Eddie flops down! Ishii storms back up on Eddie, and Eddie CHOPS! Ishii snarls, Eddie CHOPS again! Ishii throws a forearm, Eddie wobbles, and Ishii CLUBS Eddie on the back! Eddie just gets pissed and CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! Ishii DECKS Eddie! Fans give another ovation as Ishii finally takes a moment to feel it all. Ishii goes back to Eddie to throw a forearm and fans are loving “BOTH THESE GUYS!” Eddie CHOPS again, then reels Ishii in! Ishii fights the saido with elbows, then suplexes Eddie high and hard!

Both men rise, gritting their teeth from the stinging red meat in their chests. Eddie gets to a corner and Ishii runs in, but Eddie dodges to CHOP! And CHOP! And MACHINEGUN CHOPS!! Eddie tops it off with another CHOP and Ishii drops to a knee! Eddie then double underhooks for a BUTTERFLY SUPLEX! Fans fire up again as Eddie powers up and drags Ishii up, DDT!! Eddie powers up his arm and he runs, to SLIDING FOREARM! Cover, TWO!! Ishii is still in this and Eddie scowls. Fans want more “CHOPS! CHOPS! CHOPS!” Eddie kicks at Ishii and mocks his stocky shape, but this is only annoying Ishii.

Eddie kicks Ishii more, and Ishii gets up. Eddie runs and BOOTS Ishii, but Ishii choke grips! Eddie CHOPS, but Ishii doesn’t budge! Eddie CHOPS, but Ishii snarls! Eddie CHOPS again, but Ishii doesn’t budge! Eddie knees low, whips Ishii to a corner, but Ishii comes back to run Eddie over! Fans fire up and Ishii drags Eddie back up. Ishii reels Eddie in but Eddie fights the saido! Eddie swings, but into the SAIDO! Cover, TWO!! Fans fire up again as Ishii gets back up. Eddie sits up, Ishii lines up the shot and KICKS Eddie in the back! Now Eddie’s mad! Eddie stands up, pulls off the wrist tape and SLAPS Ishii. Ishii SLAPS back!

They SLAP and SLAP and SLAP and fans are thunderous! Ishii ROCKS Eddie but he comes back with more shots! They just SLAP and SLAP and SLAP with these palm strikes, fast ‘n’ furious seven! Ishii ROCKS Eddie, ROCKS him again, then runs, but into a COMPLETE SHOT! Eddie points at his arm, the ref checks him. Did Eddie try too hard against Ishii here? Ishii runs, but Eddie SWATS the lariat! Was Eddie faking!? EXPLODER!! But Ishii’s right up!? GERMAN SUPLEX! But Eddie’s right up! SAIDO!! But then Ishii rises again and LARIATS! Eddie somehow stays on his feet! Ishii comes back in, DOUBLE LARIATS collide! Both men wobble then fall over!

Fans are thunderous as Ishii and Eddie both get to opposite ends. “This is Awesome!” as Ishii stands in the corner. Eddie shakes out the cobwebs and stands up in the other corner, and they both run at each other! DOUBLE LARIATS collide, both men stay up, but then Ishii DECKS Eddie! Ishii runs as Eddie rises, but Eddie FALLING LARIATS! Eddie gets Ishii up, POWERBOMB! High stack, TWO?!? Eddie can’t believe that, but he drags Ishii up and in. Ishii swings, into a HALF ‘N’ HALF, but Ishii’s up! Eddie LARIATS him down!! Cover, TWO!!! Eddie is beside himself but fans continue to rally!

Eddie stands, powers up, and he wants Ishii to rise. Ishii stands, but SWATS the Uraken to ENZIGURI! Ishii runs, and LARIATS! Cover, TWO!! Eddie survives, Ishii drags him back up, but Eddie ENZIGURIS! Ishii wobbles, rebounds, SLIDING LARIAT! Cover, TWO!! Eddie survives again, but Ishii roars! Ishii drags Eddie up, suplexes, but Eddie fights it! Eddie wrenches out, but Ishii catches and spins him! Eddie suplexes, but Ishii fights it! URAKEN!! Cover, TWO!?!?! The Mad King wins, and he ties things up with Ishii 1-1! Eddie still shows respect to Ishii for giving him that war, and he gets the fans to join in on that. Ishii stands and staggers his way out of the ring. When and where will we get the insanely physical tiebreaker for this series?

 

Casino Ladder Match: Claudio Castagnoli VS Wheeler Yuta VS Penta El Zero M VS Rey Fenix VS Rush VS Andrade El Idolo VS Dante Martin VS ???

An interesting “hand” for this match. It’s every man for himself, but we have two members of the Blackpool Combat Club, both Lucha Brothers and two members of La Faccion Ingobernable! Angel Dorado and the mysterious “Joker” are the real wild cards in this, but who will earn that future AEW World Championship match?

First out is the ROH Pure Champion, Wheeler Yuta, and the Immortal Firebird, Rey Fenix! We saw in Dynamite’s Fatal 4 Way sampler that Yuta could find his way around #ANIMO, but will things be different now that it’s anything goes? The bell rings, fans are fired up and Fenix CHOPS! Yuta forearms, Fenix CHOPS, Yuta CHOPS, Fenix forearms, Yuta forearms, then Fenix gets the edge with forearms! Fenix puts Yuta in a corner and CHOPS him! Yuta ROCKS Fenix back with forearms, then a CHOP! Yuta kicks, Fenix blocks and spins him to BLINDSIDE FOREARM! Fenix puts Yuta on the corner and Tiger Feints the legs out!

Yuta hits buckles, Fenix goes corner to corner to JUMP SOBAT! Fans fire up and Fenix goes out after a ladder! Fenix sets the ladder against railing then fetches Yuta. Fenix brings Yuta up top and fans fire up! Yuta fights whatever Fenix is trying, he throws elbows down, then SHOVES Fenix! Fenix clips the ladder, then Yuta DIVES! Direct hit and Fenix is put on the ladder! Yuta gets the ladder into the ring but the countdown is here! The third man is… EL TORO BLANCO, RUSH! Yuta sets the ladder up and hurries up while Rush has to take off his entrance gear! Rush swaggers down the ramp as Fenix trips Yuta up!

Fenix and Yuta brawl again, Yuta throws Fenix out and climbs again! Rush gest in, drags Yuta down, then shoves the ladder aside. Rush ROCKS Yuta, folds up the ladder and puts it in a corner. Yuta ROCKS Rush, CHOPS him, ROCKS him, but Rush OVERHEAD Belly2Belly suplexes Yuta onto the ladder! Yuta writhes but Fenix gets on the apron, only for Rush to run and HEADBUTT Fenix down! Fans are torn as Rush fires up and builds speed. Rush FLIES and takes out Fenix at the ramp! Rush then whips Fenix into railing, and more railing! Rush snapmares Fenix and gathers up camera cable to LASH Fenix! But the countdown is back! The fourth man is… ANDRADE EL IDOLO!

LFI is now at full power in this match, and Rush sets up some ladders. Andrade takes his time putting his entrance attire aside as Rush ELBOWS Yuta. Rush sets a ladder up in the ring, but he decides not to climb. Andrade gets in, LFI fist bump, then Andrade and Rush set another ladder up as a bridge between the ropes and the main ladder. LFI goes out after Fenix and Rush ROCKS him! Andrade CHOPS Yuta, Rush POSTS Fenix, and then LFI gets another ladder? They set this ladder up as a bridge between ring and railing. Rush RAMS Fenix into the side of it! LFI gets in the ring, and both men climb up. But Fenix and Yuta both get in!

Yuta YANKS Rush down but Andrade kicks Fenix away! Yuta joins Andrade up top and they brawl! Andrade SMACKS Yuta off the top, but decides not to get the poker chip. He SUPER SUNSET BOMBS Yuta on the ladder bridge! Fans lose their minds and the countdown is back already! The fifth man is… CLAUDIO GADDAM CASTAGNOLI! The ROH World Champion CLOBBERS Rush, checks on Yuta, then hurries into the ring. Chicago is thunderous for Claudio as he puts the ladder bridge all the way into the main ladder. Claudio uses that as a quick way to get up the main ladder, but he sees Andrade go up the other side.

Claudio swings around the ladder to grab at Andrade’s legs. Andrade kicks but can’t get free, and Claudio decides to lift the ladder construct! Andrade clings to the ladder, as Claudio now uses the ladder that juts out from the side as a pivot point! Andrade is oddly parallel to the floor with this as Claudio keeps lifting! Claudio tips the ladder sideways and Andrade falls to the floor!! Fans are thunderous for the Swiss Superman as he resets things, but here comes the sixth man… DANTE MARTIN! The #INHUMAN joins in just as Fenix and Claudio fight over the same ladder. They decide to rush Dante, but he jumps OVER the ladder!

Wait, the other ladder is going rogue! It is falling over! Dante avoids getting bashed by it, then he waistlocks Claudio. Claudio shrugs Dante off, steps over the fallen ladder to corner Fenix with the other! Dante kicks the ladder to jam Fenix, then he springboard stomps it to jam Claudio’s hands! Dante fires off kicks, then he spots Fenix as he slips free. Fenix rushes in, Dante jumps over, and Claudio TOSSES Fenix out! Dante dumps Claudio out, and fans fire up as Dante goes to the apron. But Yuta slips in and stands a ladder up under the poker chip! Dante sees that, springboards and gets up ahead of Yuta! Yuta scrambles to yank Dante down!

Dante blocks Yuta’s kick and spins him to DROPKICK him down! Dante hurries to run, but into a pop-up! Dante uses that to get up on the ladder! Claudio hurries to bring Dante back down, but Dante RANA- NO! Claudio fights that, only for Dante to RANA Claudio and himself out of the ring! They both hit the floor and fans fire up as the ladder tips over! The countdown is back and the seventh man is of course PENTA! Fans fire up for all the pyro and Penta rushes in! DESTROYER on the ramp for Dante!! Then Rush runs in, into a SLINGBLADE! Fans are thunderous and Penta gets in the ring!

Yuta runs in but Penta throws him into a headstand on the corner! SUPERKICK! Yuta flops to the floor but Claudio EuroUppers Penta! Claudio whips Penta to a corner, but Penta goes up and over to BACKSTABBER! Penta fires up and so do the fans! “CERO! MIEDO!” Penta runs in, Claudio puts him on the apron, and Penta GAMANGIRIS! Andrade ROCKS Penta, CHOPS Penta, then fireman’s carries to aim for the ladder bridge! Penta fights free, brings Andrade to the bridge, but Rush rushes in! Fenix TIGHTROPE PENALTY KICKS Rush down! Penta and the fans shout, “CERO! MIEDO!” Penta gives Andrade a DESTROYER to the ladder!!

Fans lose their minds but that’s not the end! Fenix has Rush on a table, goes to the post, FROG SPLASH through the table!! The Lucha Brothers just took out LFI and fans are loving it! The BCC meanwhile work together to get a ladder back up under the poker chip. They both climb, but Dante springboards back into the picture! He lands on Claudio’s back and climbs up! Yuta and Dante brawl at the very top! But wait! Who are these guys in masks and jackets?! They tip over the ladder and both Dante and Yuta crash down! One of them mugs Claudio in the corner! Fans boo but there’s another who mugs Alex Abrahantes, and still another that took out Jose the Assistant!

Claudio gets sent into railing! And then Dante! And then Yuta! A fifth masked man climbs the ladder to grab the poker chip! Fans boo but the man on the ladder reveals himself! It’s STOKELY HATHAWAY!? And then the others are Ethan Page, Lee Moriarty, W. Morrissey and the Gunn Sons, Austin & Colten! Stokely’s stable just stole the prize, right as “The Joker” is about to come out! It’s… Uh, well, the song is The Rolling Stones’ Sympathy For The Devil, and it’s another man in a mask! Kind of a devilish mask. Is he going to take the mask off? NOPE, he wags his finger at us all instead. Stokely and “the devil” leave with the poker chip, who just stole the title shot?

Winner: “The Devil” (earns a future AEW World Championship opportunity)

 

AEW World Trios Championship Tournament Finals: The Elite VS The Good, The Bad & The Hungy!

Once upon a time, “The Elite” included Hangman Adam Page. That’s even how All Elite Wrestling began. But things like time, money, power, fame, success and even failure change people. Hangman originally wanted to stay out of this tournament, rejecting the offer from his old friends, the Young Bucks. But when Hangman’s new friends, John Silver & Alex Reynolds, needed help, he couldn’t leave them hanging. But will there still be hang-ups between Hangman and The, Elite, the the Elite?

“And now… He is 2-0 since returning to AEW from a 277 day absence. Even though Hangman was the number one pick of the Young Bucks, he was the number one wrestler in the 2018 and 2021 PWI 500. He is Kevin Nash’s new favorite wrestler, and some might say he is Will Ospreay’s favorite, as well. Will Ospreay has taken his ball and gone home while he is still here. He is appearing in his first PPV since November’s Full Gear. Here tonight in Chicago, he could become the first wrestler to hold three AEW titles, and represent both Winnipeg, Manitoba and NOOORTH~, CAROLINA! He is… KENNY! OOOOOOOOOOMEEEEEEGAAAAA~!”

So needless to say, the introductions are made, and the trios titles are on display as one way or another, we crown NEW champions in AEW!

The trios sort out and Hangman starts against Nick Jackson. Fans fire up for The Elite as Nick and Hangman circle. They tie up, Hangman gets the arm, wrenches to a wristlock, but Nick wrenches back. Hangman uses the ropes to flip through and break the wristlock. Hangman wrenches and hammerlocks to headlock, but Nick powers out, only for Hangman to run him over! Fans fire up and things speed up, Hangman whips Nick but Nick hurdles. Nick handsprings, Hangman kips up and ducks the screw high kick! Nick ducks the lariat, and the fans cheer the standoff! Nick and Hangman shake hands to show there’s still respect here.

Matt calls to Nick and Nick gives him the tag. Hangman tags in Reynolds and now Matt and Reynolds tie up. Reynolds wrenches an arm, wristlocks, but Matt rolls and kips up to wrench back. Matt wristlocks, Reynolds rolls, handsprings and wrenches back. Reynolds headlocks for a takeover but Matt headscissors. Reynolds kips free and fans cheer this standoff. Reynolds offers a handshake of good sportsmanship, but Matt SPITS at him! Seems Matt doesn’t care that Hangman is their mutual friend. Fans boo Matt but Reynolds tackles him and fires off hands! The ref reprimands the closed fists and he drags Reynolds away.

Reynolds is still heated but Matt cools off. Matt apologizes for the spit, and they tie up again. Reynolds headlocks, Silver tags in as Matt powers out, and Reynolds holds ropes. Silver hits Matt in his lower back! The Elite gets mad at Silver, and even Hangman questions targeting the notoriously bad back of Matt Jackson. Silver KICKS Matt in the back! And then the Dark Order boys stomp away on Matt! The Elite and Hangman all get in to stop that! Fans boo as Hangman tells his new friends they’re going too far. Hangman has Silver tag him in, and then Hangman helps Matt up. Matt gets mad at Hangman but Hangman tries to explain.

Matt storms off and tags in Omega. Fans fire up as we get these two meeting again! Omega talks with Hangman about it, but Hangman knows to keep this between them. Fans are thunderous for “COWBOY SH*T!” as Omega and Hangman tie up! They break, circle and fire themselves up. They tie up, go around, and Omega puts Hangman in a corner. Hangman powers Omega back but Omega puts Hangman in the Cowboy corner. Silver tags in, he CLUBS Omega, then Silver wrenches to YANK the arm! Silver grinds Omega down while fans rally for “JOHNNY HUNGY!” Tag to Reynolds, Reynolds CLUBS Omega’s arm then RAMS him into buckles!

Reynolds wrenches Omega’s arm, tags Silver, and they double wrist Omega to double drop toehold! They then double basement dropkick! Silver wrenches Omega’s arm, Hangman tags in as Silver YANKS the arm, and Hangman has Silver stand down again. Reynolds argues with Hangman that they’re trying to win, how can they go easy on their opponents? Hangman goes to Omega, but Omega puts Hangman on the ropes to CHOP! Omega asks him what the heck with the shoulder, but Hangman CHOPS Omega back! Omega fires off haymakers on Hangman and whips. Hangman reverses and BOOTS Omega! Then scoops to FALL AWAY SLAM!

Hangman kips up and fans fire up now that Hangman is taking this seriously. Matt talks trash, so Hangman DECKS him! Hangman runs and triangle jumps, but Omega moves and Nick SUPERKICKS Hangman down! Omega drags Hangman out and drapes him, for Nick to SWANTON! Matt builds speed to WRECK the Dark Order, and then he holds the ropes for Nick to FLY and take them out! Fans fire up as Omega puts Hangman back in. Omega tags Matt, Matt goes up the corner, and Matt MACHO ELBOWS! Cover, TWO! Matt is frustrated but he drags Hangman back up. Fans rally as Matt CLUBS Hangman.

Matt snapmares Hangman down, tags Nick, SLINGSHOT SENTON FIST DROP COMBO! Nick stomps Hangman, kicks him to the Elite corner, then RAMS his shoulder in! And again! And again! Tag to Matt, then tag to Omega. The Bucks bring Hangman out to double whip, and they drop toehold GUTBUSTER! Omega runs, KOTARO KRUSHER GUTBUSTER! Then Matt runs in, NECKBREAKER BACKBREAKER COMBO! Nick DECKS Silver, Omega covers, TWO! Omega drags Hangman up while fans rally, and Omega CLUBS Hangman. Omega bumps Hangman off Nick’s boot, then JABS away on Hangman.

Omega wrenches Hangman, fireman’s carries, “YOU! CAN’T! ESCAPE!” Except Hangman does! Hangman BLASTS the Bucks, dodges Omega and fireman’s carries for a DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Fans fire up and Hangman crawls for his corner, hot tags to Silver and Matt! Johnny Hungy rallies on Matt! Silver whips, Matt holds ropes and tosses Silver out! Silver lands on the feet, Matt ROCKS him, then goes to the corner. But Silver intercepts with a GAMANGIRI! Then he CANNONBALLS Brandon Cutler, CLOBBERS Omega, BOOTS Michael Nakazawa and- PENALTY KICK from Nick!

Hangman runs in but Nick shoulders into him! Nick slingshot FACEBUSTERS Hangman, then handsprings to the apron to MOONSAULT, but Silver dodges! Silver kicks, suplexes, and Reynolds DIVES to add onto the BRAINBUSTER to the floor! Silver gets back in the ring, runs at Matt on the ropes and BOOTS him from behind! Then torture rack for the SPIN DOCTOR SLAM! Cover, Omega breaks it in time! Reynolds kicks and throws Omega out hard, then he and Silver drag Matt up. Reynolds CLUBS Matt, CLUBS him again, and both he and Silver double suplex! Matt fights it with all his might, to DOUBLE NORTHERN LIGHTS!!

Matt grimaces and fans rally up as he crawls for the corner. Hot tag to Omega! Omega goes up the corner and CROSSBODIES Silver down! But Reynolds runs in, only to get a SNAP DRAGON SUPLEX! Hangman runs in, SNAP DRAGON! Silver fights and arm-drags the full nelson to kick, KICK and SUPERKICK! Silver deadlift suplexes, but Omega slips off! SNAP DRAGON!! Omega finishes the hat trick, Nick BOOTS Reynolds away, and then clotheslines Silver! Matt forearm smashes Silver, and Omega- Misses as Silver moves! Hangman clotheslines Omega while Reynolds drags Matt out! Silver tags Reynolds, Reynolds clotheslines!

Silver forearm smashes, GAMANGIRIS, then feeds to the ROLLING ELBOW! ENZIGURI! STUNNER! GERMAN! JACKKNIFE, TWO!!! Omega escapes with nanoseconds left on the count! Fans are thunderous but Reynolds and Hangman drag Omega up. “This is Awesome!” as they lift Omega. Silver runs but the Bucks trip him and drag him out! Omega escapes the lift and the Bucks SUPERKICK Hangman and Reynolds! Omega aims at Silver, V-TRIGGER! Silver flops out and Omega kneels. Fans fire up and start the Terminator drums! Omega builds speed and FLIES to take out the Good, the Bad AND the Hungy!!

Fans are thunderous as Omega puts Reynolds back in. Tag to Matt, Matt stalks Reynolds and reels him in. Matt puts one out, brings Reynolds up, but Reynolds RANAS Matt into the DOUBLE GAMANGIRI! Omega and Nick freak out, but then Hangman and Silver yank them down! Reynolds gives Matt a HELLUVA KICK! BACKSTABBER! Hangman is up top, ARIHARA MOONSAULT for Nick! Hangman gets in, as does Silver! Fans fire up as Hangman and Reynolds lift Matt now! Silver runs, PENDULUM BOMB!! Cover, Nick SWANTONS it apart! Fans are thunderous as everyone is down all over ringside!

Nick pushes Hangman out, fans hope these trios “FIGHT FOREVER!” but this has to end somehow! Nick runs at Silver in a corner, SHINING WIZARD! GAMANGIRI! FOREARM! BULL- NO! Reynolds SUPERKICKS Nick! But then Matt SUPERKICKS Reynolds! Silver SUPERKICKS Matt! The teams stagger about, DOUBLE DOUBLE LARIATS! All four men stay up, QUADRUPLE SUPERKICK SQUARE!! Everyone hits the man to their right!! All four men are down and the fans are electric! A standing count starts on Matt and Reynolds, but fans are rallying for “A E DUB! A E DUB!” as Hangman and Omega step in!

The ref says they have to stand down, they’re not legal! Omega and Hangman look at the ref, then at each other, then at their teammates. Omega drags Matt to the Elite corner while Hangman gets Reynolds to the Cowboy corner! Omega and Hangman tag in, and now this can go down! Fans get on their feet as both men get forehead to forehead. The forearms and haymakers start flying! Omega gets the edge, runs, but into a BOOT! Hangman runs, into an ELBOW! Omega reels Hangman in, GERMAN SUPLEX! But Hangman lands on his feet! Hangman spins, ROLLING- V-TRIGGER!! Omega hits first, then underhooks for a TIGER DRIVER!! Cover, TWO!?!?

Chicago is electric again as Omega goes to a corner. “This is Awesome!” as Omega climbs, and Hangman slowly stands. Hangman trips Omega up! Hangman then climbs up after him, for a scoop and SUPER FALL AWAY SLAM!! Cover, TWO!??! Hangman doesn’t let that stop him, he throws off his elbow pads and goes to the apron! Hangman locks ‘n’ loads, slingshots, BLINDSIDE BUCKSHOT!! But then he reloads on the other apron, only for Matt to creep over. Matt says don’t do it, but Hangman jumps, so Matt anchors his foot! Hangman kicks Matt away, so Omega eggs Hangman on! Hangman slingshots, but Omega drops! NICK STEALS BUCKSHOT!!

Nick sits Hangman up, Matt joins him, B T E TRIGGER!! Omega covers, Reynolds breaks it!! Nick drags Reynolds up to throw him out, and Matt tells Omega he has to finish this! Hangman is on the ropes, Omega prays to God for forgiveness on this, because he takes aim! BANG and Omega runs the ropes, but Hangman drops! Silver GAMANGIRIS Omega, and then gets in to waistlock! Omega resists the lift, switches, and then the Bucks get in! Only for Reynolds to trip them both and drag them out! Silver victory rolls Omega, TWO!! Omega escapes again, but Silver mule kicks, shouts out Mr. Brodie, but Omega V-TRIGGERS!! Then the Electric Chair Lift!

The Bucks now keep Reynolds out of the ring, but Silver victory rolls the lift!! Reynolds holds the Bucks back again, TWO!??!?! Omega escapes by a single nanosecond! And he gets Silver in a waistlock, but Silver elbows free! Silver waistlocks, Hangman slingshots, but Omega ducks! BUCKSHOT HITS SILVER! The Bucks CLOBBER Hangman and Omega covers Silver, THE ELITE WIN!!

Winners: The Elite, by pinfall (INAUGURAL AEW World Trios Champions)

Cutler jumps right in with the cold spray, but Chicago is red hot! Callis celebrates with Omega and the Bucks while Hangman is furious! The Elite will have their names forever etched in time as the first-ever AEW World Trios Champions, and Omega is a TRIPLE CROWN WINNER in AEW! How will this new round of success for them, and failure for Hangman, change things this time around?

 

AEW TBS Championship: Jade Cargill w/ The Baddies VS Athena!

#ThatBitch is still undefeated at 36-0, but the Fallen Goddess did point out that streak has been stretched out over two whole years. The numbers don’t lie, and the truth of the matter is, this one has been a long time coming! Will Jade’s streak continue through this already historic night? Or will Athena go all out to finally stop the storm?

Athena makes her entrance with new bionic wings, since Jade smashed the old pair. And speaking of smash, Jade comes out cosplaying as She-Hulk! The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and tonight, we see the difference between 37-0 and 36-1!

Athena CALF KICKS Jade at the bell! Jade stays up but Athena DROPKICKS her again! And again! Jade drops to a knee, swings, but Athena dodges to run and METEORA! Fans fire up with Athena and she goes to the corner! Athena climbs but Jade ROCKS her first! Athena CLUBS Jade in return and Jade clutches her shoulder. Athena adjusts, aims, O FACE!!! Cover, The Baddies drag Athena out!! The ref reprimands but Athena is pissed! Kiera says it was Leila but Leila says it was Kiera, when we know it was both of them! Athena doesn’t care, though, she SHOTGUNS Leila into railing, then chases Kiera away!

Athena gets in the ring while Kiera shouts to Jade! Athena hops on, CODE- NO, Jade brings Athena through the legs! But Athena mule kicks and runs! Into a POP-UP SAMOAN DROP! Jade kips up and fans fire up! But Athena kips up!? Jade SPEARS Athena! Cover, TWO!! Jade is frustrated but fans rally behind her. Athena goes to a corner, Jade dribbles and runs in, and she DUNKS on Athena! Jade talks trash but Athena ROCKS Jade! Jade UPPERCUTS Athena, TOSSES her across the ring, and fans fire up! Jade drags Athena up, reels her in, and underhooks the arms. But Athena trips Jade, jackknifes, TWO as Jade bridges!

Jade turns Athena, lifts, but Athena slips out! Jade runs, Athena dodges and follows, springboard CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO! Athena is a bit shocked but the fans are fired up! Athena goes back to the corner and climbs back up. Jade slowly rises as Athena aims at her. O FACE- NO! Athena catches Athena into chicken wings! But Athena slips out to FACEBUSTER! And SUPERKICK! And then a suplex, for an OSAKA STREET CUTTER! Not quite the O Face but Athena covers, TWO!! Jade is still in this and Athena is annoyed but fans fire up more! Athena goes to the corner again and climbs back up as fans rally.

Kiera grabs at Athena so Athena MULE KICKS her! Jade runs in, the boot is put on the ropes! Athena O’Conner Rolls, ONE! Athena runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, and springboards into a BOOT!! Jade chicken wings, to JADED!! Cover, Jade wins!

And still undefeated! Though, give The Baddies some big assists, because that first O Face would’ve got her. Will anyone be able to get anywhere close to defeating Jade even once?

 

Backstage interview with CM Punk and Ace Steel.

The Best in the World is walking Larry as he arrives and Alex Marvez has a question the world wants to know: Is Punk 100% healthy going into this world title match with Jon Moxley? Punk chuckles, and asks Ace if Punk’s ever been 100% going into a fight. Ace confirms, no he has not. Sure, Moxley has an easy target in the left foot. But what Moxley doesn’t know is that he isn’t fighting Punk, he’s fighting Ace. He’s fighting Larry, the firemen, the paramedics, everyone at Wormhole Coffee providing that sweet caffeine so people like the Chicago Teacher of the Year, Nora Flannagan, can get up and do her job.

Moxley is fighting Chicago, the city that works. Mox beat Punk once, but he isn’t doing it twice! Punk may love Chicago and Chicago may love Punk, but will Mox not give an F and just break Punk’s other foot while he’s at it?

 

Six Man Tag: FTR & Wardlow VS Jay Lethal & Motor City Machine Guns!

Part of the Pinnacle reunites to humble the self-proclaimed Four Horsemen of Impact! Or is it Honor now? Either way, Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood and The Maestro of Mayhem aren’t going to let Lethal, Sabin, Shelley, Sonjay or Satnam think they can just do and say whatever they want. Will the Pinnacle be back on top? Or will the #JMCMG make quite the impact in Chicago?

As if they aren’t obnoxious enough, Lethal makes sure the world sees Sonjay’s new “Fight like an 8 Year Old BRAT” shirt, mockingly based on Dax’s inspirational story about his own daughter. But speaking of, little Finlay Harwood comes out with her dad and “Uncle Cash” as they join Wardlow on stage. Chicago cheers as Finlay hugs Wardlow, Cash and Papa Dax before heading to the back. Will #FTWAR win this one for that same little eight year old girl?

The trios sort out and Wardlow starts against Lethal. Fans chant “WARD~LOW! WARD~LOW!” as he stares down with Lethal. Lethal circles around Wardlow but Wardlow doesn’t even move. Fans chant, “DETROIT SUCKS!” at MCMG, but then Lethal SPITS at Wardlow! Wardlow chuckles and swings, but Lethal ducks,  dodges, wrenches, dodges again, but Wardlow back suplexes! Lethal lands on his feet, shoots for a leg, but Wardlow holds him off. Wardlow gut wrenches, Lethal trips him! Lethal steps through, but Wardlow kicks at him. Lethal switches legs, then switches again, then jackknifes, only for Wardlow to roll through!

Lethal scrambles away but Wardlow reels him back in! MCMG get in but Wardlow shoves Lethal away and they back off! Wardlow dares someone to try something but they all stay back. Lethal goes to the corner, tags in Chris Sabin, and Sabin wants someone from FTR. Fans continue to chant, “DETROIT SUCKS!” but Wardlow tags in Dax. Dax and Sabin circle, tie up, then break. They go again, break, then tie up again. Dax wrenches, wristlocks, but Sabin rolls, spins, handsprings, kips up, and wrenches to step over and arm-drag! Dax stands up but Sabin soaks up the cheers and jeers. Sabin offers a handshake but then pie faces Dax!

Dax shoves Sabin so Sabin SLAPS Dax! Dax SLAPS Sabin! Shelley gets in but so does Cash! FTR and MCMG shove each other, but the ref tells them all to stand down! Only one in at a time! Fans rally for FTR, but Cash and Shelley stand down. Dax and Sabin reset and tie up, then Dax headlocks. Sabin powers out, Dax runs him over, and things keep moving! Sabin hurdles but Dax JABS, JABS and DECKS Sabin! Shelley jumps in but Dax DECKS him, too! Dax whips, Sabin reverses but Dax reverses back to wrench and short arm LARIAT! Sabin flounders but Dax glares at Sonjay and his insulting shirt! Dax slips out to chase Sonjay!

Sonjay runs to the ramp, avoids Cash, slides into the ring but then right out of it! Dax is a few steps behind so he slides into the ring, only for Sabin to fireman’s carry! Dax slips off to waistlock but Shelley waistlocks Dax! Dax switches with Shelley but Sabin keeps Shelley anchored! Shelley reels Sabin in so Sabin can give Dax a CUTTER! Fans are torn but Sabin tags Shelley. MCMG split the wishbone! Shelley tells Dax to suck it, then he pushes him around. Shelley puts Dax in the corner, grinds his forearms in, but Dax CHOPS back! Cash EuroUppers Shelley down, then drags him over to tag in Wardlow. Wardlow kicks Shelley low, drags him up, but Shelley CHOPS! Wardlow doesn’t budge! Sabin whips Shelley in, Dax dodges and then traps Shelley! Sabin runs in, but Dax dodges and the BOOT hits Shelley! Dax crawls but Sabin hurries after him! Sabin drags Dax away but Dax BOOTS Sabin into Shelley! Hot tag to Cash! Cash rallies on MCMG, spins Shelley and UPPERCUTS! Cash whips, Shelley reverses, but Cash KNEES him! Wardlow CLOBBERS Lethal & Sabin! Cash clotheslines Lethal out, then clotheslines Sabin! Sabin doesn’t go up and over that easy but Cash powers him up and out! Cash runs at Shelley but into BOOTS! Shelley runs in to dropkick the legs out! Cash flounders and hobbles but Shelley gets the leg. Shelley brings Cash over, trips him, and he has Lethal drag Cash into the corner to SLAM the leg into the post! And then again! Sabin SLAMS the leg, too! The ref reprimands everyone and fans boo while the ref has to keep Dax back now. Shelley eggs Dax on but Wardlow gets Dax to the corner. Lethal gets a cheap shot to Cash’s leg!

Shelley grabs the leg, Cash CLUBS Shelley, but Sabin gets the bad leg to DRAPING DRAGON SCREW! The ref reprimands Sabin but Shelley DRAPING DRAGON SCREWS the other leg! The ref has his hands full as Shelley puts the left leg in the ropes now. MCMG coordinate, DROPKICK to the right leg and a KNEE DROP to the left! Lethal tags in, he drags Cash around, and he steps through for the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK!! Cash endures while fans duel and “WOO~!” Dax and Wardlow coach Cash and Cash’s shoulders are both down. TWO as Cash sits up, and Cash reaches out! Sabin keeps the rope away but the ref reprimands!

Sabin lets go, Cash fights over and gets the ROPEBREAK! Lethal drags Cash around and tags in Shelley. Lethal anchors the leg so Shelley can stomp it! Shelley then has a standing toehold. Cash kicks with his free leg, but Shelley reels him in. Cash elbows Shelley, reaches out, but has to elbow again. Shelley reels Cash in but Cash switches and mule kicks the leg out! But Cash EuroUppers Shelley hard! Shelley tags Sabin, but Cash fireman’s carries for a FLIPPING BACKBREAKER! But it’s on his bad leg! Fans rally up as Cash and Sabin crawl, hot tags to Lethal and Wardlow! The War Dog rallies on JMCMG!

SPINEBUSTER for Lethal! SPINEBUSTER for Shelley! And a SPINEBUSTER for Sabin! Wardlow roars and Chicago is fired up! Wardlow fireman’s carries Lethal to F10!! Cover, TWO!! Wardlow drags Lethal up, brings him over, but MCMG trips up FTR! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! Wardlow grabs MCMG but Sonjay distracts the ref! The ref misses Satnam ROCK Wardlow with that big fist! Lethal sunset flips, TWO!! Lethal reels Wardlow in to BOOT, then MCMG get in! BOOT ENZUGIRI COMBO! Shelley then holds the ropes open for Sabin to DIVE onto FTR! Fans fire up and Lethal has Wardlow. Lethal and Shelley put Wardlow in the Tree of Woe!

Lethal runs to basement dropkick! Shelley runs to basement dropkick! And Sabin LEAPING DROPKICKS! Wardlow flops out of the Tree, MCMG drags him to the drop zone! Lethal is up top, MACHO ELBOW! Cover, TWO!! Wardlow survives and fans fire up! Lethal coordinates with MCMG, they KICK, SOBAT and SUPERKICK! Dax gets in to ROCK Shelley but Sabin ROCKS Dax! Dax kicks back, gets Sabin up, REBOUND POWERBOMB! Cash is in, Shelley runs into the BIG RIG!! Lethal runs, he handsprings, DOUBLE LETHAL INJECTION! Lethal aims at Wardlow, but Wardlow HEADBUTTS, then winds up to LARIAT!!

Fans are thunderous as the straps come down! Wardlow gets Lethal up and reels him in! POWERBOMB!! Sonjay and Satnam are freaking out while the fans want the second verse! Wardlow conducts the fans, and says yes, the second verse is the same as the first! POWERBOMB!! But of course, the fans want another! Wardlow drags Lethal up and brings him back in, THE THIRD POWERBOMB! Then the roll right into the FOURTH!! Cover, FTWAR wins!!

It was a war, but as soon as Wardog got rolling, there was no stopping him! The AEW TNT Champion stands tall with the IWGP, AAA & ROH World Tag Team Champions. But wait, MCMG regroups, and both Sonjay and Satnam join them! That’s 4v3, but wait! SAMOA JOE is here!! The ROH World Television Champion has Chicago chanting his name as he storms down to the ring! Satnam stands in his way, but get a BELT to the gut! And then to his back! Joe smiles, then shoves Sonjay into the ring! Sonjay begs for mercy but little Finlay runs out to the ring! Cash helps her into the ring, and she steps right up to Sonjay! She breaks his pencil!!

Sonjay then turns around, into Dax’s BIG right hand! Finlay stands on Sonjay, the ref counts it, Finlay “wins,” too! Now that’s how you fight like an eight year old girl! Will FTR, Wardlow and Samoa Joe all shut up Lethal and his crew to then move on to bigger and better?

 

Ricky Starks VS “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs!

Team Taz was strong until a run of losses cracked the foundations. The Absolute thought the Powerhouse was his friend, but the Powerhouse says he isn’t friends with punk ass losers. No longer a team, no longer friends, no longer avoiding each other, this match will happen! Will Starks show Hobbs why he was the FTW Champion and not Hobbs? Or will Hobbs show Starks whose to blame for them not being more than that?

Starks is coming in hot! He slides in, Hobbs rushes him but Starks dodges, and the bell rings in time for Starks to start firing off haymakers and body shots! Hobbs shoves Starks, Starks dodges and ROCKS Hobbs with big forearms! Hobbs shoves Starks again, Starks dodges again but Hobbs BODIES him at the ropes! Fans boo and Hobbs shouts, “You wanna see this? Look at him!” Hobbs CHOKES Starks on the ropes, lets off as the ref counts, and then stalks Starks to a corner. Hobbs stomps Starks, the ref counts, but Hobbs lets off at 4. Hobbs soaks up the heat while fans rally for Ricky. Starks stands to ROCK Hobbs!

Hobbs KNEES low, fans duel now, and Hobbs suplexes Starks high and hard! Hobbs mocks the pose and fans boo more. Hobbs drags Starks up, but Starks JAWBREAKERS! Starks runs in, but Hobbs POSTS him! Starks flops to the floor hard! Hobbs goes out before the ring count gets going, and he drags Starks up to THROW him into railing! Hobbs drags Starks up, talks trash on the fans, then puts Starks in the ring. Starks flounders and Hobbs taunts the fans more. Hobbs drags Starks up, scoops him, and puts him on the top rope. The ref counts but Hobbs CLUBS away on Starks’ ribs! Hobbs lets off as the ref counts 3, then he drags Starks up!

Hobbs carries Starks around on his shoulder, but Starks slips off! Starks runs but into a BOOT! Cover, TWO! Hobbs is annoyed but he drags Starks into a neck wrench. The fans rally and duel while Starks endures as Hobbs leans on him. Starks fights up but Hobbs knees him low! Hobbs talks trash on the fans to help Starks, but Starks still endures. Hobbs drags Starks up by his head to SLAM him down! Fans boo but Hobbs smirks as he looms over Starks. Hobbs drags Starks up with one hand. Starks grabs at Hobbs, but Hobbs swings on him. Starks dodges, Hobbs hits buckles, and Starks fires off haymakers!

The fans fire up but the ref counts, so Starks whips. Hobbs reverses and runs in, but Starks dodges again to BACK ELBOW! Starks then hits a TORNADO DDT! Cover, TWO!! Hobbs is still in this but Starks has evened things out! Starks drags Hobbs up and fans fire up. Starks reels Hobbs in, underhooks, but Hobbs back drops free! Starks lands on his feet, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but Hobbs SPINEBUSTERS! Cover, Hobbs wins!!

That was so fast, even Hobbs might be surprised! But in the end, Starks could not overcome the Powerhouse. Will Will Hobbs crush the competition all the way to a championship?

 

AEW World Tag Team Championships: Swerve In Our Glory VS The Acclaimed!

Two great teams are about to collide in Chicago! Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland joined forces, skyrocketed up the ranks and took these titles in a Triple Threat. Anthony Bowens & Max Caster are the winningest tag team and a homegrown AEW product who have been held back by bad luck. The champions challenged their challengers to leave the punchlines at home and bring only punches, but will this be where The Acclaimed finally punch their tickets and get the gold? Or will they have no choice but to #BaskInTheirGlory?

Caster starts up his rap, not caring what Swerve said! “Acclaimed gonna bring the scissors to the paper champions! Y’all’re so boring, man, it’s like I’m taking Ambien! Yo, lemme get a pillow. How you gonna put me in a match against Lizzo? All this talk about whose house? You can call me Daddy cuz I’m tellin’ you to move out! Yo, the belts need an update, we’ll leave you on the floor like the documents in Trump’s place!” Keith & Swerve ignore all this by having their backs to The Acclaimed. But then Bowens gets the mic to shout, “CHIIIIIICAAAGOOO~! The Acclaimed have arrived! Scissor me, Daddy Ass!!” Billy Gunn does indeed scissor with Bowens.

The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and all jokes aside, we see who can get serious and bring the fight!

The teams sort out and Swerve starts against Bowens. They circle, Bowens avoids the leg pick and they reset. Fans sing for Keith, “OH~ Bask in this Glory~!” Bowens and Swerve approach, Bowens avoids the leg pick again and he waistlocks. Swerve fights up, Bowens SLAMS him back down. Bowens drags Swerve up and SLAMS him again. Fans change the song to, “OH~ Scissor Me, Daddy~!” Now Billy gets to conduct the crowd but Swerve and Keith are annoyed. Wait, Billy scissors a fan! The fans go nuts but Swerve fights up to trip Bowens to a toehold. Swerve grabs Bowens’ arm for an ARMBAR! Bowens flails and clasps hands!

Swerve shifts to get the leg again but Bowens rolls and stands up. Bowens wrenches out, whips Swerve to ropes, then hurdles to drop. Swerve jumps over and has the leg again to turn! Bowens uses that to get a cradle that then turns into a sit-down cover, TWO! Bowens hurries to get an Oklahoma Roll, TWO! Swerve trips Bowens, has the leg, but Bowens boots him away. Swerve handstand walks over Bowens while fans chant, “Whose House?” “DADDY’S HOUSE!” Swerve headscissors Bowens away! Bowens comes back, into a leg pick! Swerve tags Keith but Bowens gets away! Tag to Caster and fans fire up.

Caster and Keith stare down and Billy coaches Caster on. Keith and Caster tie up, Caster waistlocks and headlocks. Keith powers up but Caster grinds the hold. Keith powers out, they ram shoulders but Keith doesn’t budge. Keith shoves Caster but Caster rebounds to ram Keith! Now Keith moves, and that just annoys him. Caster runs, Keith hip tosses, but Caster handsprings through it! Caster taunts Keith with a shimmy and shake, and Keith applauds for it all. Then he runs in! Things speed up, Keith rolls over the drop down, then hurdles! Caster hurdles, stops himself with the ropes, and fans fire up! Billy applauds that one now.

Fans chant for Keith, Caster swings but Keith blocks! Caster tries to get around but Keith clinches. Caster fires off hands and a dropkick! Keith comes back to TOSS Caster to the corner! Caster BOOTS back and goes up, to FLYING RANA! Fans fire up and Keith is dizzy from that one! Keith frowns and Caster eggs him on. Keith and Caster reset, and they tie up! Keith whips Caster, Caster sunset flips, but Keith drags him up! Caster avoids the Grizzly Magnum and DROPKICKS! Keith staggers, Swerve rushes in but Bowens intercepts with a DROPKICK! Swerve tumbles out, and The Acclaimed DOUBLE DROPKICK Keith out!

Fans fire up as The Acclaimed stand tall! Caster and Bowens SCISSOR FINGER! Keith and Swerve are frustrated but they talk strategy. Keith gets back in the ring, he and Caster reset, and Caster offers a handshake. Keith accepts that, to then ROCK Caster with sucker punches! Keith knees Caster low, runs, and BLINDSIDE CROSSBODIES! Keith smirks as he covers, ONE!! Caster shows toughness, but Keith puts him in the corner. Fans taunt Keith, “YOU CAN’T SCISSOR!” as Keith tags Swerve. The champs mug Caster, Swerve snapmares and goes up for the FALLING UPPERCUT! Swerve mocks Bowens’ scissoring then covers Caster, ONE!!

Swerve drags Caster back, tags Keith, and Swerve holds Caster open for Keith’s GRIZZLY MAGNUM! Caster falls over and clutches his stinging chest! Fans boo but Keith just looms over Caster. Keith RAMS Caster into the corner, RAMS his back, then hoists Caster up top. Fans chant, “We Want Scissors!” as opposed to tables, because at least scissoring is legal. Keith climbs up behind Caster while smirking at Billy. But Caster throws back elbows! Caster turns around, leaps, FLYING CUTTER?! Fans fire up as Caster and Keith crawl! Hot tags to Bowens and Swerve! The Five Tool Player rallies on Swerve! Bowens blocks a boot, spins, ripcords and NECKBREAKERS!

Fans fire up, but Swerve goes up and over Bowens. Bowens keep sup with Swerve, then goes the other way to spin and ROLLING ELBOW! Bowens DECKS Keith, reels Swerve in, BRAINBUSTER! Cover, TWO!! Bowens is annoyed but he runs in, only for Swerve to dodge! Bowens BOOTS him away, goes up the corner, and leaps, but his leg gives out! Bowens crashes but Swerve runs in, into a mule kick! Swerve goes for the leg but Bowens shoves him away! Bowens KICKS, manages to run, and he hits a KOTARO KRUSHER! But the leg is bothering him, so Billy checks Bowens. Bowens doesn’t want this to end things, and fans don’t either! Fans rally as Bowens gets to a corner.

Bowens shakes the bad leg out, Swerve runs in and blocks the boots to put Bowens on the apron. Bowens’ leg jams and he falls to the floor! Fans boo Swerve showing no mercy but Swerve has been known to be cold-blooded. Billy helps Bowens stand and Caster is concerned. Swerve runs in to WRECK Bowens with a dropkick! Swerve and Billy stare down but the ref has them stand down. Swerve tells Billy to “SUCK IT!” because Swerve knows the game, too. Swerve drags Bowens away, KICKS the bad leg, then puts Bowens in the ring. Cover, ONE!! Swerve has the leg isolated and he drops a knee on it!

Fans rally, “Whose House?” “DADDY’S HOUSE!” but Swerve tags Keith. Swerve lifts Bowens up and Keith sets up, ASSISTED SHIN BREAKER! Bowens writhes and clutches the knee but Keith smirks at Caster and Billy. Keith SLAMS the leg on the mat, then SPLASHES on it! Cover, TWO!! Fans rally as Bowens toughs it out and crawls away. Keith dares Bowens to get up and Bowens stands in a corner. Keith SPLASHES Bowens, then keeps him standing up. GRIZZLY MAGNUM! Bowens sputters but Keith keeps him cornered. Keith then TOSSES Bowens across the ring! Fans are torn but Keith is shocked to see Bowens standing!

Bowens roars, gets his bad leg moving, and he runs in to fire off forearms! Keith pushes Bowens back but Bowens BOOTS! Bowens goes up, BOOTS again, and again, then leaps! FLYING BLOCKBUSTER!! Fans fire up as both men are down, and Bowens crawls to his corner! Hot tag to Caster! Fans fire up but Swerve runs in! Caster back drops him! Caster clotheslines Keith, clotheslines Swerve out, then clotheslines Keith again! Caster PLANCHAS onto Swerve! Caster gets back in the ring, goes up the corner, and CROSSBODIES Keith! Cover, TWO! Caster is frustrated but he fires back up with the fans.

Caster has Keith in a corner, but Keith shoves him away. Caster traps Keith, Bowens run sin to forearm smash! Caster elbows! Bowens forearm smashes again! Caster fireman’s carries?! No, Keith is too big! Keith runs, Swerve slides in, but Caster dodges and Keith POUNCES Swerve!! Uh oh! Caster CHOP BLOCKS Keith’s leg! Bowens manages to SHINING WIZARD! Cover, TWO!!! Keith survives and Billy is beside himself! Caster tags Bowens and fans rally for “A E DUB!” The Acclaimed drag Keith up but Keith HEADBUTS Bowens down! Keith choke grips and pushes Caster out of the ring!

Bowens hobbles up, he elbows Keith, ROCKS him, CHOPS him, but he can’t plant for the superkick! Keith sweeps the leg! There’s no mercy in the Limitless Dojo! Keith goes up the corner?! Caster runs over to spring up after Keith! Caster CLUBS away on Keith but Keith hits back! They brawl, Bowens joins in! Fans fire up as The Acclaimed CLUB away, then GRIZZLY MAGNUM together! The Acclaimed goes to the very top, bring Keith up, but Swerve tags in before the DOUBLE SUPERPLEX! Swerve is up, KILL STOMPS for Bowens!! Cover, TWO!?!? Fans are electric, but then Swerve STOMPS the bad leg!

Swerve drags Bowens around, steps around, HALF CRAB!! And he stomps away on Bowens’ head! But Caster is up top to MISSILE DROPKICK Swerve down! All four men are down and fans are thunderous again! “This is Awesome!” Caster drags Bowens to the corner and tags himself in. Caster gets Swerve’s leg but Swerve sprawls to block. Swerve steps over, rolls, Caster rolls through, HOUSE CALL!! Cover, TWO!!?? Caster survives and Swerve is furious! Swerve hurries to a corner and he takes aim. Caster slowly rises, Swerve springboards, but Bowens trips him up! Bowens puts Swerve on the apron for Caster as Caster goes up top!

Bowens drapes Swerve out, DRAPING MIC DROP!! Double-edged for Bowens given his bad leg but Caster puts Swerve in. Caster helps Bowens in, but Keith returns! Keith CLOBBERS Caster, and GRIZZLY MAGNUMS Bowens! Billy gets on the apron and he shouts at Keith! Fans fire up for Daddy Ass but Keith tells him to get down. The ref also says Billy needs to get down. Caster aims, runs in, dodges the haymaker to CHOP, SUPERKICK, and fireman’s carry!! PLATINUM VALLEY DRIVER!! Hot tag to Bowens! Bowens fights through the pain to get Swerve up! THE ARRIVAL! Caster is up top again, for the MIC DROP!! Cover, Keith breaks it in time!?!

Fans are furious, how could that not be three?! But somehow it wasn’t, and this continues! Bowens pushes Keith out of the ring while fans call BS! Caster goes after Swerve at the apron and drags him up. Cater uses the scissors to slash the throat! But Swerve fireman’s carries for an APRON DEATH VALLEY!! Bowens drags Swerve in, but Swerve CHOPS the bad leg! Swerve switches, half nelsons, but Bowens hooks a leg to block the lift! Bowens switches but Swerve has a leg and laces through, BACKBREAKER! Tag to Keith on the run, but Bowens ROLLING ELBOWS Swerve! Bowens CHOPS Keith, ROCKS Swerve, repeat!

Swerve BOOTS, Keith fireman’s carries! Keith tosses Bowens, but Bowens’ leg gives out! And this time it’s a good thing, because Swerve’s ROUNDHOUSE hits Keith! Another miscue from the champions! Bowens SUPERKICKS Swerve, rolls Keith up, TWO!??! Keith escapes, Swerve runs in but Bowens trips him up in the ropes! DRAPING BLADERUNNER! Bowens fires up and fans are with him! Bowens runs, leaps up, but Keith blocks whatever he was going for, and spins Bowens around! Swerve gets up top, SPIRIT STOMPS!! Cover, Swerve & Keith win!

Winners: Swerve In Our Glory, by pinfall (still AEW World Tag Team Champions)

That was an absolute epic! But in the end, the Shaq & Kobe of AEW took the win! The Acclaimed and the fans may not like it, but Billy steps into the ring to show he at least respects it. Keith offers scissor fingers, fans chant “NO! NO! NO!” but Billy accepts! The Acclaimed came the closest they’ve ever come, but will they get another chance down the line? Who will be next to step up and Swerve In Our Glory?

 

Interim AEW Women’s World Championship Fatal 4 Way: Toni Storm VS Hikaru Shida VS Britt Baker VS Jamie Hayter!

Though she’s an incredible competitor, La Mera Mera is not invincible. Injury struck Thunder Rosa and put her on the sidelines, so now an interim champion must be crowned! Will the Lightning From Down Under strike her opponents down to finally have #ToniTime? Will the Full Metal Samurai become #TwoBeltsShida? Or will The Doctor and her assistant work together on this, even though it’s every woman for herself?

The introductions are made, the title is on display, and we see who will be waiting for Rosa’s return as interim champion!

The four stand off at the bell, but then of course Baker and Hayter fist bump! Britt goes after Shida while Hayter goes after Storm! They brawl, Britt whips but Shida reverses, only for Britt to slip out of the corner. Storm turns things around on Hayter, Shida is upset with Britt. Storm stomps away on Hayter then lets off to circle with Shida. Hayter CLUBS Shida and throws her out. Storm waistlocks Hayter but Hayter switches. Storm switches but Hayter switches back. They run to ropes, Storm bucks the O’Conner and runs in to SHOTGUN Hayter down! Fans fire up and Storm drags Hayter up to CLUB her down!

Storm UPPERCUTS, runs, but Britt trips Storm and drags her out. Fans boo as Britt CLUBS Storm but Shida CLUBS Britt! Shida gets in the ring but fans are fired up for Hayter. Shida runs in to KNEE Hayter, then she climbs up, only for Britt to grab Shida’s arm! Storm BOOTS Britt, Hayter Electric Chair lifts Shida, but Shida fights free. And this just in, Tony Khan made it official for this Wednesday Night Dynamite: Death Triangle VS Best Friends in a Trios Match! And Marvez notes, the Lucha Brothers quite literally got robbed in the Casino Ladder Match. Fenix says yes, but it doesn’t matter. Pac says “Confrontation? This was no confrontation. This was simply a little doggy barking up the wrong tree.”

Pac heads out, Death Triangle goes with him. Best Friends put their hands in, and they just go with, “GO!” Will Cassidy, Trent & Chuck be able to take down The Death Triangle and earn Cassidy that All-Atlantic Championship opportunity? Or will The Bastard & The Lucha Brothers win and focus on more important things?

One is Daniel Garcia’s hero, the other is Daniel Garcia’s mentor, but they couldn’t be any more different from each other. The ref counts, Bryan lets off and STOMPS the knees! Bryan then drags Jericho around, steps through for a toehold, and has an Indian Deathlock! Miro fires up, goes out and around the way, but Buddy uses Sting’s baseball bat to CRACK Miro in the ribs! Miro crashes into the steel steps on the way down! Buddy hides the evidence and gets back in the ring. Darby gets Buddy with the THROWBACK STUNNER! Then he DIVES to take Buddy out at the ramp! Darby clutches his arm, the ref goes out to check him, and Malakai stalks behind Sting! Sting turns around, into the BLACK- MIST FROM STING?!?

Malakai flails and swings blindly, and Darby returns to trip Malakai up! Figure four, LAST SUPPER CRADLE! RELENTLESS ICONS WIN!

Backstage interview with Daniel Garcia.

Tony Schiavone points out that Garcia did not go out to the ring with the rest of the JAS to celebrate Jericho’s victory. Garcia is interrupted by Jericho himself walking in, because he also wants to know why Garcia did not go out to the ring after Jericho proved he is the greatest pro-wrestler and sports entertainer in the world? Garcia says he never doubted anything Jericho said. But Garcia also said Jericho didn’t need to cheat to win, and yet he did. Jericho let Garcia down because of that. Jericho says that’s fair. He appreciates Garcia’s convictions, but Garcia has let Jericho down, too.

So here is what happens: Garcia has a shot at the ROH Pure Championship this Wednesday on Dynamite. This is perhaps Garcia’s biggest match in his entire career. Jericho knows Garcia will win, but he has to do it without the JAS. They’re not backing him up. Garcia says this is the biggest moment of his career and he wants Jericho there for it. What does Jericho mean he’s not going to support Garcia? Jericho says Garcia made his decision, Jericho just made his. Jericho knows Garcia will beat Wheeler Yuta, but he’ll just have to do it without Jericho. Good luck. Garcia isn’t sure what to make of this, but will he even need Jericho for this?

 

AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley VS CM Punk!

The Heart & Soul of AEW, the Blue Eyed Battler, the Maniac, proved he can be meaner, tougher and better than The Best in the World. But CM Punk vows that because he is the Best in the World, because he’s Chicago born and raised, he doesn’t stay down, he gets back up again and again and again. Moxley won in Cleveland as the hometown hero, will he win now as the away team? Or will Punk be the hometown hero he knows he can be?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see just how “undisputed” Moxley’s reign really is!

Fans are already thunderous, and are dueling between the two men even before the bell. Punk dares Moxley to go for his bad foot but Moxley says that’s too easy. Moxley flips Punk off, then sits down! Punk paces while fans are torn between cheers and jeers. Moxley stands up, he circles with Punk as the fans duel even harder, it starts to sound like “CM MOX!” Punk rushes Mox and clinches but Moxley puts him in the corner. Punk and Moxley turn things around while throwing some scrappy shots but the ref wants them to break. Punk clinches and throws knees instead, backing Moxley down to an adjacent corner.

Punk CHOPS, CHOPS, and CHOPS, over and over! Moxley turns it around to fire off forearms! Fans are torn again but the ref has to back Moxley down. Moxley is all fired up, but Punk ROUNDHOUSES with the bad foot! It holds up, and Punk SHINING WIZARDS in the corner! Punk whips corner to corner to SHINING WIZARD again! And then short arm LARIAT! And HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! Fans fire up, Punk brings Moxley up and says it’s night-night! Fireman’s carry, GO TO SLEEP!!! Cover, TWO!?! Moxley survives and Punk can’t help but smirk. Moxley flops out of the ring and staggers around while the fans are thunderous for Punk!

Punk runs and DIVES, direct hit and Moxley goes into the crowd! Punk stands Moxley up to ROCK him with a right, then another! Punk then pursues Moxley into the crowd and fires off on him! Fans love getting even closer to the action than usual, and Punk brawls with Moxley near the bleachers! Punk JABS and then SMACKS Punk off the guard rail! Moxley wobbles, Chicago is rabid, and Punk CLUBS Moxley back towards ringside! Punk stalks Moxley, fires off more hands, then pushes Moxley over the railing! Punk whips Moxley into steel steps! The ref reprimands but Punk shows off with push-ups!

Fans duel, even with this being Chicago. Punk enjoys it all the same, and he drags Moxley up to scrape laces on his face! Punk fireman’s carries, but Moxley slips off and POSTS Punk! Fans boo but Moxley gets away into the ring. Moxley checks his face, he isn’t bleeding, but Punk is! Fans duel while the ref checks on Punk. Moxley steadies himself, he sees Punk is bloody, and the shark goes right for him! Moxley throws forearms while fans duel! Moxley punches away on the wound, grinds his forearms in, and even throws elbows! Moxley leaves Punk behind, showing the blood on his hands. Moxley tastes Punk’s blood!

Punk sits up and has a crimson mask already! Fans tell Moxley, “You Suck F***!” Moxley BOOTS Punk, SMACKS him off the steps, and then BOOTS him again! Punk blinks through his own blood as Moxley gets in the ring. Fans boo Moxley shouting out Cleveland, but somehow, Punk gets back in the ring. Fans continue to duel as Moxley taunts Punk. Punk eggs Moxley on, then SLAPS him! Moxley BOOTS Punk then eggs him on. Punk SLAPS again, so Moxley BOOTS again! Moxley climbs up the corner and rains down elbows! Then HEADBUTTS! Moxley lets off as the ref counts, and Moxley has Punk’s blood on him like war paint!

Punk CHOPS Moxley, JABS him, fires off haymakers, but Moxley KICKS the leg out! Moxley CHOPS Punk in a corner, CHOPS him again, then digs his forearm into Punk. Moxley whips Punk corner to corner but Punk reverses. Punk SHINING WIZARDS again! But Moxley stops the bulldog to hit a SHIN BREAKER! And a takedown to drop an elbow onto the bad leg! Punk is enduring, suffering, but Moxley pulls on the deep toehold! Fans rally and duel, Punk’s shoulders are down, ONE! Moxley steps on the bloody forehead, then gets the leg. Moxley turns Punk but Punk kicks with the good leg! Moxley gets the good leg to DOUBLE STOMP the gut!

Moxley drags Punk around by his legs, and turns him for a HALF CRAB! Punk endures and the fans duel, boo, and chant hard as ever! Moxley shifts to an STF!! Moxley CLAWS the bloody wound, grinds the crossface, then lets off to have a CALF KILLER!! Punk endures, he CLAWS at Moxley’s eyes! The ref reprimands but Moxley lets Punk go. Punk staggers up, Moxley shoots for the leg! Mox puts Punk’s leg in the ropes, ROCKS him, then SHOTGUNS the bad leg! Moxley drags Punk back out and has the leg again, for a DRAGON SCREW! Then a FIGURE FOUR! Fans “WOO~!” as Punk endures!

Moxley taunts Punk, puts as much pressure as he can on the hold, and Punk’s shoulders are down! TWO, and Moxley flips Punk off! Punk SPITS on Mox then flips him off! Moxley lets Punk go, and gives him a SPIKE PILEDRIVER! Cover, TWO!!! Punk survives and Moxley is actually amused! Moxley drags Punk to the apron and up to his feet. Moxley reels Punk in, but Punk resists! Punk wrenches out to WRING the arm into the apron! Moxley clutches his arm while Punk is down on the floor. Punk drags himself up while the fans continue to duel as loud as ever! Punk gets in, he and Mox are in opposite corners, but Moxley runs in!

Punk BOOTS Mox, then spins him around to POST him! Moxley flounders back into the ring, Punk PENALTY KICKS the bad arm! And then steals DRAGON STOMPS! Punk then clamps on the ANACONDA VICE!! Moxley endures as Punk cranks on the bad arm! Moxley fights up, and he BITES the bloody forehead! Moxley then turns things around, DRAGON STOMPS!! The fans are torn as Moxley slashes his throat. Mox stands Punk up but Punk ducks the lariat to CALF KICK! Both men are down but Moxley is up first. Punk still scoops and SLAMS Moxley down! Punk hurries to a corner and drags himself up the ropes!

Fans are dueling, booing, cheering, and Punk aims for the MACHO ELBOW into the body scissors!! REAR NAKED CHOKE!! Punk flails but Mox shifts to lean on the hold! Punk fights to his feet and he puts Moxley on ropes. Punk then arm-drags free to the ARMBAR! Moxley clasps hands, Punk CLUBS away, but Moxley turns and rolls to the BULLY CHOKE!! Punk freaks out and flails around! Punk sits up and kicks at Moxley! Moxley gets the leg, for an ANKLE LOCK! Punk endures all over again! Punk claws his way forward to the ROPEBREAK! Moxley lets go at 4, to then GERMAN SUPLEX! Moxley flips off Chicago!

Punk sits up, springs up, and ROUNDHOUSES! Moxley wobbles, but he comes back with the KING KONG LARIAT! Fans are thunderous again while both men are down! The standing count begins, fans still chant for Punk and he sits up. The crimson mask is complete as he and Mox stand. Punk fakes a haymaker, fireman’s carries, but Moxley slips off! Punk fights off the underhooks to ROLLING ELBOW! Moxley ROCKS Punk back! Punk ROCKS Moxley, so Moxley JABS! Punk JABS! And JABS! Mox JABS, it’s a boxing match until Mox KICKS the leg! Moxley runs, but Punk spins in,  NECKBREAKER! And fireman’s carry! GO TO- NO!! Mox blocks!

Moxley trips Punk, KICKS the leg, and underhooks, DEATH RIDER!! Cover, TWO!!! Punk survives but Moxley just goes for the BULLY CHOKE! And then HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! Moxley just rains them down! And then BULLY CHOKE!! Fans are electric for Punk as he fights his way up to the fireman’s carry! But Moxley slips off to have the SLEEPER! Moxley kicks the bad leg, but Punk rolls it back! Moxley lets go but Punk fireman’s carries! GO TO SLEEP!!! Both men flop against each other and fans are volcanic!! Punk realizes he’s under Moxley, and he fireman’s carries again! GO TO SLEEEEEP!!! Cover, Punk wins!!!

Winner: CM Punk, by pinfall (NEW AEW World Champion)

Bad foot, bloody face, but the heart and soul of Chicago behind him, Punk is once again the Best in the World! The belt is back on his shoulder, but then the lights go out!? Fans are losing their minds! Wait, audio plays! Is this a voicemail? “So, it’s been a few months now, and your continuous, unexcused, extended absence is hurting the company, and it’s hurting the fans. And I know you don’t care about the fans at all, but I do. So if you will show up at All Out, I am willing to swallow a very bitter pill for the sake of the fans. I’ll put you in the Casino Ladder Match, I won’t force you to sign an extension, and I will pay you (beep) dollars. But you have to show up at All Out.

“This is my final offer, and you’re not gonna get a better one.” Wait, is this Tony Khan leaving a message for him? Video plays of Punk’s promo from ROH! “The greatest thing the devil ever did was making people believe he didn’t exist!” And we know who once quoted that… “The Devil” from the Casino Ladder Match walks into frame, and takes off the mask. “And I am the Devil himself.” He puts on the scarf!! Fans are losing their minds as M J F heads to the ring!!! Punk cannot believe it, but neither can Chicago! Maxwell Jacob Friedman was the devil who convinced Stokely and his recruits to steal the AEW World Championship opportunity for him!!

MJF has his music cut so that he and Punk can stare down. Punk holds up the belt and dares MJF to do something now. MJF steps a little bit closer, fans are chanting for “M J F! M J F!” but MJF simply motions that he will have the title. MJF then flips off Chicago because as the voicemail just said, he doesn’t care about the fans! He just wants the title and the money! Will MJF make sure this story comes full circle at Full Gear?

My Thoughts:

What a great PPV for AEW, but we can all tell the big thing was the world title story. The Casino Ladder Match was great stuff, but it was really odd that it was mostly faction members and then Dante Martin. Stokely’s stable being mercenaries for MJF in disguise was a bit of an interesting twist. I suppose Stokely’s guys can still be a faction after this, or even MJF’s new Pinnacle or whatever he’ll call it. And we got a badass main event from Moxley and Punk, where of course someone got really bloody, but they also did a great job playing off the bad foot and how Chicago is on Punk’s side (mostly).

The foreshadowing with the devil mask and The Rolling Stones song of course meant MJF would challenge Punk for the world title, and they did a good job with that kayfabe voicemail to frame it all. Thinking about it, Full Gear is a long ways away, but the Casino Ladder Match prize is a future title match. It doesn’t have to be the very next match, so someone could challenge Punk in New York for Grand Slam in a couple weeks, or MJF could use the poker chip now and he faces Punk in New York for his own hometown hero move. Either way, now that MJF is back, things are probably going to rev up with Dynamite nearing its anniversary.

The Zero Hour was awesome stuff, especially how they started the mixed tag title match. But I figured all the champions were going to retain, especially Hook. I do like that Kip showed some character dimensions, but it seems to be the classic “Oh, he’s gone crazy…” I also liked that Pac just outright refuses to accept Cassidy as a challenger, but you know the trios match on Dynamite this week is going to force Pac’s hand. And Ishii VS Kingston II was just badass personified. Their chests ended up so red from all the chops, that was amazing in and of itself. And who knows where we’ll get the tiebreaker, and the winner will depend on if it’s a NJPW or AEW show.

The trios title match was awesome and had all the story beats I expected. As such, I had a feeling The Elite would win. Now, Tony Khan not renewing Bobby Fish’s contract is one thing (a petty thing, according to most sources), but sadly, Kyle O’Reilly’s injury is rather rough, so we aren’t getting Elite VS Undisputed anyway. The Elite will be very fun first champions, and I can’t wait to see who goes after them. And Hangman’s story is going to take another interesting route here, perhaps giving us another take on Sadman Page drinking all the time. Then the Dark Order can waver on the line of being enabling friends and stern friends, trying not to push Hangman away like The Elite did but also trying to make sure Hangman doesn’t go off the rails.

Jade VS Athena was great stuff, but I really wish Jade could at least win clean. How many times has it been that one or more Baddies help her out? And I suppose I’m only saying this because I cover AEW, WWE and even NJPW, but I feel like there are too many Heels who retain titles thanks to distractions and interference. WWE just gave Roman Reigns another cousin sidekick, can’t Jade do better than the Tribal Chief? Meanwhile, we got a much better booked Women’s World Championship Fatal 4, where Britt did show her true colors and more or less betray Hayter. I’ve been wanting Hayter to break off from Britt, and it sounds like so did Chicago, I hope this is that moment.

Meanwhile, hooray for Storm! She was probably gonna beat Rosa, but she definitely deserved to win this title here. She was used great in NXT but horribly by RawDown because dumb old Vince, so at least nerdy weird Tony Khan knows something about respecting her. Britt and Hayter, regardless of if they’re together or separate, can now chase Toni to Full Gear and we can get some great 1v1 matches. Starks VS Hobbs was a very good 1v1 match, but what a great win from Hobbs with the match being rather short. Hobbs can use this momentum to get at the TNT Championship for a great battle with Wardlow.

Wardlow & FTR had a great Six Man with Lethal & MCMG, but of course the Faces won here. They were fighting for the honor of Dax’s daughter, they couldn’t lose to a bunch of bullies! Plus, great for Samoa Joe to use this moment to come back, maybe Joe settles things with Lethal after this. The House of Black VS Miro, Darby & Sting was also a great Six Man, and it was a great twist for Sting to use mist on Malakai. But being it was the mist and the cradle that won, you know this is not over. We will certainly see Miro VS Malakai and we could even get Darby & Sting VS Buddy & Brody all separately for Grand Slam in a couple weeks to finish this off.

We got a lot of surprises in that Jungle Boy VS Christian Cage segment. A good surprise: Jungle Boy IS Jack Perry, “Jungle Boy” is now like “Powerhouse” for Hobbs. A bad surprise: Luchasaurus went back to being Christian’s monster, even after the twist that he was supposedly still on Jack’s side all along. Oh well. But maybe this means it’s Jack Perry VS Luchasaurus at some point, and then we get the real Jack Perry VS Christian Cage match at Full Gear.  Bryan VS Jericho was also great stuff, but of course Jericho cheats to win and that puts things back on Garcia to figure out if he wants to be sports entertainer or pro-wrestler. If Bryan talking to Garcia doesn’t recruit him, maybe having this ROH Pure Championship match with Yuta will.

But honestly, I think match of the night, and outside of the main event, the match Chicago was most into, was the tag title match. Keith & Swerve ended up playing the Heels because they picked on Bowens’ bad leg, and there’s a bit of that “They’re former WWE guys, Acclaimed is homegrown, AEW fans should like Acclaimed more,” but it makes sense in this case. The Acclaimed have fought their way up and got themselves over naturally with personality and promos, and they were underdogs against the massive Keith Lee and the agile and experienced Swerve. In story and given the build, it made sense Keith & Swerve retained, but just imagine if The Acclaimed won. Chicago would’ve exploded even before the main event and closing segments.
