AEW looks at the THREE YEARS of history behind tonight’s main event.

Chris Jericho brought together a group known as The Inner Circle: himself, Santana, Ortiz, Jake Hager, and Sammy Guevara. The young Spanish God has been Jericho’s protégé since the beginning of Dynamite. On the other side, Daniel Garcia came in with “2Point0,” Matthew Menard & Angelo Parker, while The American Dragon, Bryan Danielson, came in alone to shake up the foundation of AEW. Bryan told Jon Moxley, “What if we took someone like Wheeler Yuta under our wing? What if we took someone like Daniel Garcia away from 2Point0?” That was the beginning of the Blackpool Combat Club.

As for Jericho, his Inner Circle soon fell apart, because Santana & Ortiz didn’t “appreciate” Jericho. But Hager and Guevara stayed by Jericho’s side in the Jericho Appreciation Society, which took in Garcia & 2Point0. Then cut to Anarchy in the Arena, the bloodiest faction warfare in AEW history, and perhaps in all of professional wrestling. Or perhaps, in sports entertainment. The JAS came out the winners as Jericho and Hager took Bryan out together. But Bryan didn’t stay away long, and he had a battle with Garcia. This started planting a seed in Garcia’s head, and Jericho questioned Garcia’s loyalties.

Bryan VS Garcia II went the American Dragon’s way and that infuriated Jericho. Garcia didn’t appreciate Jericho ruining the moment, but then Garcia had his own moment by taking Wheeler Yuta’s ROH Pure Championship. Jericho would do the same to Claudio Castagnoli and the ROH World Championship, but in a far less honorable way. Bryan made one more plea to Garcia that he could be BCC, but Jericho told him to shut up! Jericho has vowed to “desecrate” ROH and what it stands for. Will he do just that as he takes on the pro-wrestlers, Bryan Danielson & Daniel Garcia?

Backstage interview with The Jericho Appreciation Society.

Tony Schiavone says that showdown of BCC VS JAS is in tonight’s main event. Matthew Menard shouts at the camera, “Daniel Garcia! After everything we have been through together, you wanna spit in our face and team with Bryan Danielson? No problem! But you take a gift, a gift that this man (Chris Jericho) gave you, that hat, and throw it on the ground?!” Hager sure likes the hat. Angelo Parker says they walked into AEW together. 2Point0 loves Garcia. He is family! But it seems Garcia has lost his way.

Jericho says Garcia is a petulant child who sticks his finger in the light socket even though he’s been told not to. But that’s okay. It is that rebellious nature that brought him to the JAS. But Garcia needs to remember that every trick he was taught, he was taught by them. They taught him how to be a great sports entertainer. Schiavone says, “You’re talking about systematic cheating, right?” To-may-to, to-mah-to, Schiavone. Lessons will be taught, lessons will be learned, and Jericho just hopes Garcia makes the right decision. Sammy shouts, “And if you don’t…! We’re gonna end you.”

Jericho says, “Speaking of ending, Bryan, tonight is gonna be a taste of what you’re gonna get in Toronto. I’m gonna desecrate the legacy of ROH. I’m gonna leave Toronto as the Ring of Jericho Champion, and still be the Ocho.” Jericho has issued his title match challenge to Bryan Danielson, but will he end up losing here tonight?

Darby Allin VS Jay Lethal!

Lethal rolls through the sunset to push Darby to one, only for Darby to roll through and step through! LAST SUPPER! DARBY WINS!!

Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall

Sonjay & Satnam showed up, and maybe that cost Lethal! Lethal is frustrated, but Darby wants him to hold on. Darby is telling Lethal that he’s better than Sonjay & Satnam. Darby wants to shake hands on this, and fans chant “YES! YES!” Lethal is conflicted but Darby gives him a shove. Lethal shakes Darby’s hand! The only ones not happy about it are Sonjay & Satnam! But will they just have to accept that Lethal actually has some honor?

Backstage interview with Rush, Jose & Private Party.

Tony Schiavone notes that El Toro Blanco is taking on The Cowboy, Hangman Adam Page tonight, but it seems Jose The Assistant has “called the troops together.” And he did so because while Private Party showed up for work tonight, they haven’t been showing up in the ring. Jose has clips to prove it. Last week, Rush and Hangman brawling, but NO Private Party backing Rush up. Then the week before that, when Rush led The Butcher & The Blade in that blindside of Hangman, still no Private Party! Jose promises that Rush will blast Hangman again tonight. Rush tells Private Party to “do the right thing tonight!”

Jose lets Private Party know that they know Matt Hardy’s been talking with them. They better choose the right side in this. Jose and Rush leave, but will Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy do what’s right? Or will they do what La Faccion Ingobernables wants?

The Acclaimed head to the ring!

Fans are fired up as there’s balloons and a podium. Max Caster has the mic, so “Yo! Listen! Acclaimed on the mic, what I’m saying is hot. Even in the senators are insider trading our stock. We will never be approved like a home loan. We did it on our own cuz we homegrown! Even Joe Biden is lovin’ it. He said, ‘Scissor me timbers,’ and didn’t even stutter it! Yo, we put ’em away. Hands up cuz it’s National Scissoring Day!” Bowens gets the mic to say, “WASHINGTON DEEEE CEEEEE! The Acclaimed have arrived! Scissor me, Daddy Ass~!” And he does! Fans fire up and sing, “OH~ Scissor Me, Daddy~!” as the champs go to the podium.

Bowens says he is glad they’re singing that, cuz Daddy loves to scissor! But Washington, D.C, welcome to the very first ever National Scissoring Day celebration! It is a very special night, unlike anything in our great sport’s history, and it is brought to you by The Acclaimed, the most popular team in ALL of professional wrestling! Caster adds, “That’s right!” The winningest team in AEW! That’s right! The best damn homegrown team in AEW history! THAT’S RIGHT! And today, it was made official thanks to every single fan. The “Scissor Me Daddy Ass” T-Shirt is the NUMBER ONE BEST SELLER IN 2022!!

Bowens says most importantly, The Acclaimed, your #ForeverChamps, have brought home gold! That means AEW no longer stands for All Elite Wrestling. No, it stands for ACCLAIMED EVERY WEDNESDAY! But now, this is cause for celebration, and the Acclaimed celebrate by scissoring. Bowens knows a thing or two about that. They used to Babe Ruth the Sultan of Swat, so you can call Anthony Bowens the Sultan of Scissors! And there may be a few of you tuning in for the very first time tonight because National Scissoring Day was trending all day long. Let’s break it down for you. Scissoring is a handshake, a sign of friendship, and a sign of true teamwork.

The Acclaimed understand that the people want to be represented by a real team. “Not two dudes who were thrown together like Keith Lee and Sneaky Swerve.” Fans boo to support that point. Bowens says “Sneaky Swerve” would like us to believe that he and Keith deserve to be AEW Tag Team Champions. Sneaky Swerve would like us to believe that he and Keith are the most popular tag team in the industry. But they’re WRONG! EVERYONE loves The Acclaimed! “Swerve, this isn’t your house.” Billy Gunn takes over here and says, “This is Daddy Ass’s house! Now for everybody in the building, and the millions…” “AND MILLIONS!” “… of people at home, it’s National Scissoring Day!”

That said, Billy was sent down to City Hall today, because he’s a big deal, and he was asked to present The Acclaimed with this. Billy brings out a big package wrapped in gold. Could it be…? The Acclaimed unwrap the package and… it’s the SCISSORS TO THE CITY! Y’know, like you see when someone has to cut a big ribbon. Bowens is all fired up, but he’s running with scissors! Billy tells him don’t do that. Bowens apologizes, and Caster goes to the podium. “Folks, at this point in the service, we’d like everybody to turn to your right and your left to offer a sign of peace to your neighbor via scissoring. Peace be with you, Anthony.” The Acclaimed scissor finger and the fans join in!

“And as National Scissoring Day comes to a close, I wanna talk about greatness. Yeah, guys, I wanna talk about greatness. About 40 years ago, here in this city, Washington DC, greatness was achieved when Washington won the Super Bowl. Yeah. Super Bowl 17. A lot of people here probably don’t remember that. I wasn’t even born yet, but it means a lot to me, because my dad was on that championship team.” Fans cheer for that, and Billy even hugs Caster. Caster continues to say, “And his Super Bowl ring is his prized possession. He wears it proudly to this day. And he achieved greatness here all those years ago, just like The Acclaimed achieved greatness when we won the AEW Tag Team titles.

“But this city represents, also, the ugly side of America, the division in our country. But one thing we can agree on is that everyone loves The Acclaimed.” Fans cheer that! So put your scissors up right now! Cuz it’s their duty to bring everyone together. Today, there is no Left or Right, no blue or red. “The Acclaimed wears pink, and everyone looks good in pink, baby! We are the People’s Choice, we are the People’s Voice, and we’re gonna make history here tonight. We’re gonna do the first-ever bipartisan scissor to unite this country. Let’s do it!” Fans fire up as the trio puts up the fingers… “Whose House?” Swerve Strickland is here to rain on the parade!

Fans boo but Swerve has a mic to say, “This is the most idiotic thing I’ve ever seen. Oh, congratulations on your whole number one selling T-shirt on AEWShop.com. Congratulations, Billy. Now some more kids can go to school and get suspended again in this decade like they did two ago. These are your tag champ role models you want for your children? These guys, right? Y’know what? Those two tag team championships shouldn’t even be on your shoulders, they should both be on Billy’s, because if it wasn’t for you, Swerve In Our Glory would still be tag team champions.”

Fans boo but Swerve says that for him and Keith to get back to what they do, they gotta get back to business. That means taking Billy out. So next week, in Toronto, it’ll be “Daddy Ass” himself, Billy Gunn stepping into whose house? “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” And it’ll be one-on-one. And don’t even think about bringing those two fingers up in Swerve’s face. You do that, Swerve will make sure Billy never uses that hand again. Because we all know rock beats scissors every day. Swerve even has a rock in his hand! But wait, Mark Sterling is storming out here? Sterling says, “I don’t wanna say I told you so, but I told you so! Paper covers rock, pal!”

Sterling brings back his petitions and says he’s been calling out Swerve for being a jerk for months! No one was listening, but Sterling expects that from the “idiots” in the crowd and watching at home. But the Acclaimed should wanna hear him out. They need Sterling. Fans boo that. But Sterling says they need him to beat Swerve because they can’t do it themselves. We saw Grand Slam, there was some controversy. So let’s all join together so Sterling can represent them in the fight against Swerve, and seal the deal tonight! Let’s give the people what they want, and that is the three of them scissoring Sterling! What?

Sterling turns around into a CHOP! And then Billy scoops to SLAM Sterling! Caster and Billy open Sterling up for SCISSOR ME TIMBERS!! Swerve rolls his eyes and leaves but Billy says wait! Before Swerve leaves, Billy ACCEPTS! Next week, Toronto Dynamite, Swerve VS Billy! But okay, Swerve can leave now, because The Acclaimed has just one more thing to do. They… SCISSOR!! But will Swerve Strickland crush Daddy Ass when Dynamite goes north?

AEW looks at The Dark Order VS Death Triangle!

Alex Reynolds says that this Friday will be bittersweet. It’s the second anniversary of Mr. Brodie Lee’s last ever match, but also the night that the Dark Order beats Death Triangle to become NEW AEW World Trios Champions! But PAC responds by telling Dark Order that while their “recipe” is fine, Death Triangle’s “ingredients are just a little bit more premium.” Preston Vance says, “What better way to win the Trios Championships than on the anniversary of Brodie Lee’s last match.” Penta El Zero Miedo says Death Triangle is the best trio in the universe, because they have CERO MIEDO!

John Silver mocks Pac’s accent when he says The Dark Order is coming for the Trios Championships! Not bad. But will it really be the Dark Order’s time to shine when Death Triangle is on a Rampage?

Backstage interview with Madison Rayne & Skye Blue.

Schiavone introduces the coach of the AEW Women’s Division, and she says it has been great being here. In the few months she’s been here, she’s seen endless potential in the division, particularly in Skye. Skye is truly a rising star and she’s becoming quite the wrestler. But TayJay, Tay Melo & Anna Jay “A S,” walk over and say this is a joke. Madison, as Skye’s coach? What Skye really needs is a sports entertainment coach, to give Skye charisma, personality and flair. Skye says for once, TayJay might be right. She could work on her “charisma” while they can work on their wrestling. But uh, there’s two and two, and then Rampage this Friday. What do they say?

Tay says that’s perfect! Because as Jericho always says, sports entertainer always beat pro-wrestlers. TayJay head and Madison copies Matthew Menard by saying, “It’s gonna be enter-tening.”

Hangman Page VS Rush w/ Jose!

The Cowboy and El Toro Blanco were the last two in the Golden Ticket Battle Royal, and in the end, Hangman won the prize. But things are far from settled between these two, will Hangman also avenge John Silver? Or will he get the horns before ever making it to the title match?

The bell rings and fans are thunderous already for “COWBOY S*IT!” Rush rushes in, Hangman dodges and fires hands. Rush gives them back, they brawl and fans fire up! Rush ROCKS Hangman but Hangman comes back to CHOP! Rush CHOPS, Hangman CHOPS, and now it’s a CHOP fight! Rush fires up and eggs Hangman on so Hangman CHOPS and CHOPS and CHOPS! Hangman shakes out his hand, runs, but Rush blasts past, gets around and waistlocks. Hangman switches but Rush switches back to shove Hangman away. Hangman goes up and out to the apron but Rush rolls back to tranquilo!

Jose anchors Hangman’s foot! Rush then rushes in to DECK Hangman! Rush goes out after Hangman to drag him up and RAM him into railing! Rush brings Hangman around to SMACK off the chair in the corner, then he drags Hangman up again. Jose distracts the ref so Rush can use the camera cable to LASH Hangman! And then CHOKE him! The ref sees something’s up and reprimands, Rush lets off at 4. Rush soaks up the heat then drags Hangman up to RAM into more railing! Rush keeps on Hangman as AEW goes picture in picture.

Rush RAMS Hangman into steel steps! The ref reprimands, Rush puts Hangman in the ring and he soaks up more heat. Rush gets in as Hangman goes to a corner, and Rush looms over him. Rush drags Hangman up, CHOPS him, then ROCKS him with a forearm. Rush whips corner to corner, runs in and KNEES Hangman, then snapmares him down for a basement dropkick! Hangman writhes but Rush tranquilos again. Rush soaks up more heat from DC, then stalks Hangman to another corner. Hangman CHOPS back, so Rush CHOPS. Hangman CHOPS, Rush CHOPS, the CHOP fight is back!

Rush ROCKS Hangman with a right, sits Hangman down in the corner and digs his boot in. The ref counts, Rush lets off and “apologizes,” but Jose CHOKES Hangman behind the ref’s back! Rush pretends he can’t hear the ref, and Jose lets off before he gets caught. Rush stomps Hangman more, then drags him up to slingshot suplex! Rush CHOKES Hangman but the ref counts. Rush lets off and “apologizes,” but then he tells the fans to shut up. Rush goes back to Hangman, kicks him around, but Hangman throws body shots! Rush KICKS Hangman down, then stomps him more! Rush pretends to take Hangman’s head off and kick it into the crowd.

Dynamite returns to single picture, and Hangman throws hands! Rush ROCKS Hangman, whips him to ropes, but Hangman reverses. Rush ducks ‘n’ dodges to CROSSBODY, but into Hangman’s FALL AWAY SLAM! Hangman fires up with the kip up! Fans fire up, but Rush kips up to ROCK Hangman! Rush soaks up the heat, and MJF is backstage with his poker chip. Rush KICKS Hangman, whips him corner to corner, but Rush runs in to be put on the apron. Hangman triangle jump LARIATS! Fans fire up as Hangman then aims to PLANCHA! Direct hit and down goes Rush! Fans fire up as Hangman drags Rush up and into the ring.

Hangman catches his breath and fans rally up behind him. Hangman slides in, Rush runs in but Hangman dodges! Rush leaps, into a fireman’s carry, DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Cover, TWO! Rush is still in this but fans rally behind Hangman. Rush goes to a corner, Hangman storms over and he gives scuffing kicks. Hangman eggs Rush, Rush gets up and Hangman CHOPS! Rush choke grips Hangman but Hangman throws forearms. Rush doesn’t budge and he eggs Hangman on, so the forearms come in! Rush ROCKS Hangman back! Hangman sits in the corner, Rush stomps away on him, then stands on his shoulders! The ref counts, but Hangman powers up!

Hangman lifts Rush as he stands on the shoulders! Hangman then gets Rush in position, POWERBOMB! Hangman goes right into the jackknife bridge, TWO!! Rush survives again but fans rally for Hangman. Hangman snarls and goes to the apron. He throws off the elbow pads, but Rush runs in! Hangman ROCKS Rush first, but Jose anchors Hangman again! Hangman kicks Jose away, slingshots, BUCK- HEADBUTT! JUMP KNEE! And then the tuck, for a STRAITJACKET PILEDRIVER!! Cover, TWO!!! Hangman survives and shocks Rush! But Rush tastes his own blood coming from a busted nose, and he revels in it!

Hangman goes to a corner, Rush takes aim and goes corner to corner! Rush runs in, but Hangman LARIATS! Hangman reloads, slingshots, BUCKSHOT!! Cover, Hangman wins!!

Winner: Hangman Page, by pinfall

The Cowboy puts the bull away and is heading to Cincinnati with momentum! But wait, Private Party heads out! Are they going to do “the right thing?” Wait! Here comes MOXLEY! The AEW World Champion isn’t gonna let Quen & Kassidy rough up his challenger. Moxley gets a mic and gets in the ring as Private Party backs away. Moxley and Hangman go forehead to forehead, and Moxley says, “I’ve been waiting for this for three years. Three years of AEW Dynamite. Three years of watching you, three years of studying you because I knew this was coming. Three years of us circling each other. Between the two of us, we’ve beaten just about everybody there is to beat here in AEW. Except each other.

“On October 18th, at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, my home arena, the arena I literally grew up in… For real, I used to smoke and drink under the bridge outside.” But on that Tuesday night, Moxley and Hangman will be one last man standing here in AEW. In 13 days, Cowboy, Moxley leaves his house, walks down the street, shows up at Heritage Bank Center, and will break Hangman’s face. Moxley will choke Hangman until he turns blue, because he is in the way of Moxley being the one true top guy in AEW, of being the world champion, and of being THE best in the world!

“And I’ve all the respect in the world for your abilities, I have all the respect in the world for your talents. I admire you as a person. But when that bell rings, with the world championship on the line, I ain’t got any gaddamn respect for anything.” Hangman takes the mic and says, “If you’ve been waiting for this so long, where the hell are you going right now?” Fans like the sound of that! Moxley gets back in the ring, fans chant for “COWBOY SH*T!” but Moxley says, “You’re a sweet kid. And like a lot of kids around here, you say a bunch of bulls*it and your mouth gets you in trouble. I’m gonna let you off the hook just once. But this is your final warning. You’ve got 13 days. You watch your damn mouth.”

Moxley leaves, having put it in simple terms. But MJF is smiling as he watches this backstage. Whether it’s Maniac or Cowboy, will The Devil come to collect from the winner?

Backstage interview with Willow Nightingale.

Schiavone says that was a big win tonight as Willow got the pin, her career is on the upswing. Willow thanks Schiavone for that, she is stoked! But she’s more than just “happy to be here,” she is on a roll! At Battle of the Belts, she wants to challenge for the AEW TBS Championship! Uh, what? The Baddies barge in and give Willow trash. Willow shoves Leila & Kiera back, but Jade says, “What? I already beat you like, twice.” Singles and tag! So it seems Willow just wants to be #39. Willow says Jade may have beaten her twice, but how about a third? Jade’s sure confident that she’ll go 39-0, but no one is undefeated forever! So what if Jade actually does go 38-1, and it’s Willow who is “The One!?”

Willow looks at the title then takes her leave. Will she be the one to leave with that title on Friday? Or will Willow’s roll hit a wall?

Luchasaurus w/ Christian Cage VS Fuego Del Sol!

Captain Charisma leads the way for his own personal kaiju, both of them having battered and bruised Jungle Boy after their betrayals. Will Luchasaurus continue to demolish all put in his path? Or will the Fire of the Sun burn down the towering tyrant lizard?

The bell rings, Fuego rushes in, but Luchasaurus catches him with a choke grip! For the CHOKE SLAM! But that’s not enough for Christian, and Luchasaurus drags Fuego up again. Straitjacket, torture rack, EXTINCTION!! Cover, Luchasaurus wins!

Winner: Luchasaurus, by pinfall

Christian is all smiles, but he still wants Luchasaurus to take out the trash. Luchasaurus gut wrenches Fuego to a Crucifix, but HERE COMES JUNGLE BOY! He has a chair and he JAMS Luchasaurus with it! Fuego is spared but JB SMACKS Luchasaurus on the back! Luchasaurus falls out of the ring but is right back up! Christian keeps Luchasaurus from rushing back in at the angry Jack Perry! JB gets a mic to say, “Look at me, you traitor! You were my best friend in the entire world. You were my BEST FRIEND! And after everything that we have been through together, you chose him. And you broke my heart.”

JB takes a moment before he continues. “But now, I am going to break your fingers. I am going to break your nose. I am going to break your arm! I am going to break you piece by miserable piece until I break YOU! You pick the time and you pick the place, I’ll be ready.” Christian snatches the mic to say, “I told you not to come back this week, Jungle Boy. And it’ll be just as easy for us to step into this ring, drop you, and leave you in a pool of your own piss and blood. But y’know what? You got me thinking here. You said we pick the time and place? Well we’re in your nation’s capital of Washington, DC. And apparently I’m the only honest person in Washington, DC, because I can tell you right now, that match will not be happening in this cesspool in front of these losers!”

Fans boo but Christian says the time is next week on Dynamite! The place is Christian’s hometown of Toronto! Will Jungle Boy finally get his revenge in front of Christian’s hometown crowd?

BREAKING NEWS for Friday Fight Night!

On top of the AEW World Trios Championship match of Death Triangle VS Dark Order, the match of Skye Blue & Madison Rayne VS TayJay is official! Plus, the AEW Tag Team Championship contenders race heats up as Smart Mark’s stable of Tony Nese & Josh Woods will take on the Varsity Blonds. And after their own tense confrontation, FTR will defend their ROH World Tag Team Championships against The Embassy’s Gates of Agony, Toa Liona & Kaun! And of course, win or lose from Rampage, Pac defends his All-Atlantic Championship against Trent Beretta! Will #JustTrent be facing a two-belt or one-belt Bastard to close out the night? Speaking of which…

AEW looks closer at PAC VS Trent!

The Bastard says, “Trent Beretta. You’re upset that I hurt your little buddy, are ya? Your ‘best friend.'” Trent says “Pac calls himself a Bastard. I guess it’s cuz he talks in a fake scary voice and he makes mean faces. And he needs to use a hammer to win matches and hurt our friend.” Pac says Cassidy blindsided him and yet Pac’s the bad guy. Trent says this Friday, he gets revenge. And he won’t need a hammer to hurt someone. But Pac says, “I’m a bastard, what did you expect? But at Battle of the Belts, I’ll have no problem hurting you, as well.” Trent says, “NEW All-Atlantic Champ. Hands in, boys.” Chuckie T is there to join in, but will Best Friends be celebrating a vengeful victory?

Daniel Garcia & Bryan Danielson VS Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara!

The ROH Pure Champion has been torn between the influence of his hero in The American Dragon and his mentor in The Wizard. He has also been torn between the definitions of a “professional wrestler” and a “sports entertainer,” and which one fits him best. But one thing is for sure, Garcia wants some respect from Jericho, not cheap gifts and cheap tactics! Will Garcia and his hero humble the ROH World Champion and the Spanish God? Or will the Jericho Appreciation Society just sports entertain their way to another cheap victory?

The teams sort out and Garcia starts with Jericho, student against mentor and ROH Pure Champion VS ROH World Champion! Fans chant, “F YOU SAMMY!” while Jericho wants to uphold the Code of Honor. Garcia hopes he’s honest, and shakes Jericho’s hand. Jericho doesn’t try any tricks, they circle, and tie up. Jericho arm-drags Garcia fast and then holds up his hands in victory. Sammy rallies Jericho but Jericho and Garcia tie up. Garcia denies the arm-drag and wags his finger. Jericho rushes in, Garcia gets around to trip Jericho up, floats all over him, and mounts! Fans cheer but Jericho is upset.

Garcia gator rolls Jericho around, floats around again and slaps away on Jericho’s head! Garcia kicks dirt at him, too! Jericho is upset more, and he CHOPS Garcia! Garcia CHOPS back! Jericho CHOPS, Garcia CHOPS, and CHOPS, and CHOPS, and CHOPS! Garcia whips, Jericho reverses, and Sammy trips Garcia up! Sammy pretends he didn’t but fans boo. Sammy tags in while Jericho seems hesitant, and Sammy rains down fists! Fans boo but Sammy stops to taunt Bryan. Sammy goes back to Garcia, he drags Garcia up and CLUBS Garcia. Sammy suplexes, Garcia slips out and shoves to dropkick the legs out!

Sammy crawls but Garcia tags Bryan! Bryan dodges Sammy to DROPKICK Jericho! Bryan fires off on Sammy with haymakers, then he EuroUppers Sammy hard in the corner! Bryan KICKS away in the corner, whips Sammy corner to corner, but Sammy reverses, only for Bryan to go up and over! Bryan keeps moving, he ducks Sammy to DIVE onto Jericho! Bryan sees Sammy coming and ROCKS him out of the tope! Bryan goes up top and fans fire up as AEW goes picture in picture!

Sammy staggers, into Bryan’s MISSILE DROPKICK! Bryan kips up and fans fire up. Bryan waits on Sammy to sit up, to give him a KICK! And a KICK! And a KICK! Sammy sits up but into more KICKS! Then the BUZZ- NO, Sammy ducks to roll Bryan up! TWO, into the omoplata! LEBELL LOCK!! Jericho rushes in to BOOT Bryan! The ref reprimands but too late, Jericho tags in. WALLS OF JERICHO!!

Bryan endures now as Jericho sits deep! Garcia gets in but Jericho lets off. The two stare down, but Bryan rolls Jericho up! TWO, and Bryan CHOPS! Jericho CHOPS, Bryan EuroUppers! Bryan fires off more uppercuts, whips Jericho to ropes but Jericho reverses and CLOBBERS Bryan! Jericho then DECKS Garcia with a sucker punch! Jericho seems conflicted after he did it, but he turns around into an OVERHEAD Belly2Belly! Sammy tags in, goes up top and leaps, but Bryan catches him for a GERMAN SUPLEX! Sammy ends up in a corner, Bryan fires up and runs in, to DROPKICK! Sammy wobbles, into Bryan’s BUTTERFLY SUPLEX!

Dynamite returns to single picture, Excalibur assures us that is the final commercial break, and Bryan climbs up top! Jericho trips Bryan up, Sammy GAMANGIRIS! Sammy goes up top after Bryan, for a SUPER SPANISH FLY! Cover, TWO!! Bryan survives and fans rally up, but Sammy rains down fists. Sammy snarls and fires up, and he sits Bryan up for a chinlock. Sammy then pushes Bryan down to stomp. Sammy tags Jericho, they double whip and double shoulder Bryan over! Sammy spins and poses with Jericho, Le Sex Gods are back at it. Jericho drags Bryan up, tags Sammy back in, and Jericho CHOPS!

Jericho and Sammy mug Bryan with haymakers and CHOPS, then Sammy whips. Bryan ducks ‘n’ dodges as fans bring back “F YOU SAMMY!” DOUBLE CROSSBODIES collide! Both men are down, fans rally up and both men crawl, hot tags to Garcia and Jericho! These two stare down and fans fire up more. But Sammy jumps in, only for Garcia to DECK him outta the sky! Garcia and Jericho stare down again, and the brawl is on! Fans are thunderous as Garcia gets the edge! Garcia stomps a mudhole, the ref counts but Garcia won’t let off so the ref backs him down! Garcia is fired up and so are the fans.

Fans fire up as Garcia goes again, but Jericho trips him! But Garcia turns Walls into a DRAGON SLAYER!! Jericho endures Garcia’s take on the Sharpshooter, fans fire up, but Sammy gets in to SUPERKICK Garcia down! Then Sammy FLIES to take out Bryan! Sammy says he’s the best, but fans chant, “You Still Suck!” Jericho covers Garcia, TWO! Jericho drags Garcia up to CHOP him. Garcia grits his teeth, Jericho CHOPS again.

Jericho CHOPS but Garcia glares at him. Jericho CHOPS, Garcia CHOPS and CHOPS and CHOPS! Garcia whips, but Jericho avoids the dropkick! LIONSAULT onto knees! Jericho hurries to tag Sammy and Sammy hurries up top. Sammy leaps, but into a REAR NAKED CHOKE!! Sammy flails, Garcia shifts to a CROSSFACE!! Bryan intercepts Jericho, to get a CROSSFACE!! Fans are thunderous for the double crossfaces, but Sammy and Jericho move around. So Bryan and Garcia shift position for STEREO HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! Fans chant “YES! YES! YES!” with every shot! Bryan dumps Jericho out and he helps Garcia put Sammy in a corner.

Bryan hauls Sammy up top, then he and Garcia both climb up. They bring Sammy up for a DOUBLE SUPER BACK SUPLEX! But Sammy lands on his feet!! Sammy wags his finger, and SCREW HIGH KICKS Garcia! Sammy dodges Bryan to then STANDING SPANISH FLY! Sammy reels Garcia in, back suplex KICK! Cover, TWO!! Garcia is still in this and Sammy is furious! Sammy goes to the corner, goes up top, SHOOTING STAR onto knees!! Garcia has the legs, for the DRAGON SLAYER!! Sammy endures as Garcia sits deep, but Jericho CLOBBERS Garcia with the ROH title belt!! Fans boo but the ref missed it as she was checking on Sammy! Sammy crawls himself to cover Garcia, the JAS wins!!

Winners: Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara, by pinfall

Another cheap trick and the sports entertainers win! The rest of the JAS comes out to celebrate with them, and of course SamTay kiss. Jericho still seems torn having to do this to his protégé, but is this all the more reason for Garcia to leave the JAS and join the BCC? Can Bryan redeem himself and ROH by taking the world title away from Jericho? Or is the future of ROH nothing but the OCHO?

My Thoughts:

A great episode for AEW to celebrate the Dynamite Anniversary while also serving as a go-home to “Friday Fight Night.” However, with that, the elephant in the room needs to be addressed. After getting at it via Twitter, Sammy and Andrade couldn’t help but throw down backstage in person. Tony Khan sent Andrade home when Sammy’s been the instigator the whole time, but Sammy was scheduled for tonight’s main event so oF CoUrSe SaMmY sTaYs~! I agree with a fan sign I saw tonight: HIRE HR EXPERTS. This shouldn’t be happening to a company that is meant to be the positive alternative to what WWE was under Vince. Ironically, while scraps happened (Jericho oddly being a part of a few), it never went like this with Vince.

But some credit must be given to Tony Khan, him pivoting from the hyped up Mask VS Contract of Vance VS Andrade to a fun AEW World Trios Championship match was good thinking. The Dark Order sadly won’t win, despite it being the anniversary of Brodie Lee’s last match and by proxy, a night to remember his memory, but Vance was likely losing his mask anyway so a bit of a silver lining. Pac and Trent also have a good promo vignette for their 1v1 title match, but I think Pac is sweeping the night. And I think after Pac wins, Ethan Page needs to call him out since that was the story set up weeks ago when Ethan said he wanted that All-Atlantic title.

We got an awesome opener from MJF and Yuta, and of course MJF wins to have momentum for his inevitable cash-in. However, I am really intrigued by how The Firm took initiative and did the Heel stuff for him. MJF didn’t want it that way because perhaps deep down, he really does respect Yuta given their history from before AEW. Regal stepping up was also really cool, and I guess we’ll see how this goes. MJF watching Hangman VS Rush was also a nice touch. Hangman VS Rush was an awesome match, too, and LFI putting the screws to Private Party is really good stuff. Moxley defending Hangman to preserve their match is good stuff, and they had a great promo interaction. BCC is definitely winning against LFI by pinning Private Party and that’ll push #HardyParty VS LFI/AFO.

Great match from Darby VS Lethal, and I should’ve figured Sonjay & Satnam would still show up at some point. We got a similarly intriguing moment where Darby got Lethal to show some respect, and maybe Lethal is on his way to changing things. Great TNT Championship match, Wardlow and Cage are guys who both defy expectations for their musculature, but I had a feeling Wardlow would retain. Great brawl as The Embassy goes after Wardlow, only to bring out Samoa Joe and FTR. FTR VS GOA is going to be good stuff, but FTR will surely retain. And of course Luchasaurus wins his match, it wouldn’t have mattered who that was. JB showing up was a great surprise, and now we’re getting JB VS Luchasaurus in Toronto, that’ll be great stuff.

Great Six Woman Tag, and it really was great that Willow got the pin. Willow going after the TBS Championship was a bit of a surprise, but I suppose Face VS Heel dictates this match-up. I’m a little surprised this is happening when we got a tease of Jade VS Nyla last week, but I guess they just want to get Jade to 40 already. Jade will beat Willow, she’ll probably beat Nyla, and then who knows, maybe the 41st match is where Jade finally loses. As for Storm, I feel like they definitely need to push Hayter since fans love her, too.

At the same time, they are definitely teasing Saraya’s return to the ring and she’ll definitely have a match with Britt, either 1v1 or a tag match so it isn’t all on Saraya in case there’s ring rust. Skye & Rayne VS TayJay will be a decent match for Rampage but that promo was not the best. On one hand, TayJay may have a point that Skye is still green in presenting a personality. But Skye saying TayJay, each part having proven themselves in the ring these last three years, is bad. To me, Tay and Jay could each believably take down Rayne, because I still don’t see “it” in Rayne.

National Scissoring Day was hilarious stuff, and was proof that fans really do love The Acclaimed. But while I expected the Gunn Sons to interrupt because of how they’ve been talking crap, it was whose house? SWERVE’S HOUSE! Swerve VS Billy is going to be great, but I would think Swerve wins. Maybe Keith & Swerve have to beat Austin & Colten to get that rematch? Or do we get a Triple Threat again to clear out multiple teams at once? I did like that Sterling just expected The Acclaimed to side with him against their common enemy of Swerve, only for Sterling to take the hit.

I will say, for the backstage crap that went down between Sammy and Andrade, we still got a good group promo from the JAS, a great vignette to hype up the main event, and a great main event match. Unfortunately, Sammy’s nuclear heat detracted from the story that was going on, maybe they should’ve just called an audible and put Hager or one of the 2Point0 boys in there. And in the end, the JAS cheats again because duh, they’re Heels. But with Jericho VS Bryan III for the ROH World title is going to be great stuff next week. With Jericho getting the win here tonight, I would think Bryan wins next week, but we’ll just have to wait and see. I also totally expect Garcia to have a match with Jericho to decide his fate: join BCC as a pro-wrestler, or be stuck in JAS as a sports entertainer.

My Score: 8.8/10

The Death Riders speak.

It was after AEW Dynamite on Wednesday that Jon Moxley said, “Every time I step into the ring with Kyle O’Reilly, I can’t find a way to win. It’s been failure after failure after failure. Kyle O’Reilly has tapped me out, twice. Ipso facto, Kyle O’Reilly will be the new Continental Champion. You might think. But the Jon Moxley of six months ago is not the same as Jon Moxley of today. Who I will be tomorrow is better than who I am today. Logic and strategy would dictate that I should stay as far away from Kyle O’Reilly as I can. Because there’s no doubt about it, Kyle, you have my number.

The thing about this Continental Championship, it’s good bait. All the dragons I wanna slay come right to my door. I will do what I’ve done for 22 years surviving in this business, Kyle: I’m gonna find a way.” The Maniac heads out, and Claudio Castagnoli steps forward to tell Brody King that Brody always brings the bark. But if he steps in the ring with Claudio in the Owen Hart Tournament, he better bring the bite. Pac then says, “Nobody gets special treatment. It doesn’t matter who you are, Death Riders against the world.” Daniel Garcia says yeah, let’s get it! Yuta repeats, “Against the world.” Marina Shafir tells the world, “Bring it, you p*ssies!”

AEW World Trios Championship Eliminator: The Conglomeration VS Lee Moriarty & The Infantry w/ Shane Taylor Promotions!

Well speaking of Kyle O’Reilly, he, Orange Cassidy, and the returning Mark Briscoe are going to put STP to the test! #TAIGASTYLE is still ROH Pure Champion, but Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo are upset after losing the ROH World Six Man Tag titles. Will STP take out their frustrations as they rumble, bad man, rumble? Or will the Violent Artist, Freshly Squeezed & Sussex County Chicken simply send #THEM home emptyhanded?

The trios sort out and Briscoe steps up against #BadNews&Tattoos. The fans are behind Briscoe as he and Bravo circle. They approach, Bravo kicks low, and he flips everyone off. The fans boo, Bravo headlocks, but Briscoe powers up, out, and headlocks in return. Bravo powers up and out but Briscoe RUNS him over! The fans cheer, and Briscoe runs. The fans cheer Cassidy while Lee stumbles. Lee tags Dean, and now The Captain steps to Cassidy. Dean says go ahead, put the hands in the pockets. Cassidy says okay, and he raises his hands, to then slowly, slowly, put them in his pockets!

The fans cheer as Cassidy then ducks ‘n’ dodges Dean, and still arm-drags Dean away! Dean runs up, Cassidy drops down to MONKEY FLIP! Then Cassidy kips up! The fans fire up, but Bravo storms in and whips him to a corner. Cassidy goes up, out, and ducks Bravo to bump him off buckles! Dean tries, but Cassidy bumps him off buckles! Bravo tries again, he just gets buckles! Dean tries again, he just gets buckles! The fans fire up as Cassidy climbs, but Lee trips him up! Cassidy tries again, but the CARLIE CROSSOVER hits, then a feed to the SLINGSHOT SPEAR! Lee drags Cassidy to the apron, the ref is still distracted, Shane Taylor hits a GUILLOTINE LEG DROP! The fans boo but STP has taken control while Collision goes to picture in picture!

Lee drags Cassidy up, puts him in the ring, and Dean covers, TWO! Dean drags Cassidy up, whips him to ropes, then BODY BLOWS! Cassidy falls in a heap but Dean soaks up heat. Cover, Briscoe breaks it! Bravo is upset, but he CLUBS Cassidy. Cassidy fights the suplex, Bravo CLUBS him again and again, then suplexes through! Cover, TWO! Cassidy toughs it out but Bravo drags Cassidy over to the corner.

Dean tags in, The Infantry stomps away on Cassidy, but the ref counts. Dean stops to kneel on Cassidy, then steps off again. Cassidy throws “shots” on the leg, but Dean stomps Cassidy down! Dean then BLASTS Briscoe & Kyle! The ref reprimands but that just lets Bravo CHOKE Cassidy! The ref reprimands Bravo now as Collision returns to single picture. Dean asks, “Is this camera on me? B! B! C!” BRONCO BUSTER CAPTAIN! Dean bounces, Bravo says if you see Cap in that corner, yo’ ass is a goner! Dean drags Cassidy up, tags Bravo, and Dean sends Bravo in for the SPLASH! When it rains, it pours for STP! Will they just have to regroup and refocus taking over ROH? Will The Conglomeration continue to #ManUp here in AEW?

Will Ospreay speaks.

It was also after Dynamite that The Aerial Assassin told Samoa Joe, “My apologies for not getting back to any of your messages, been a little bit busy training and getting myself ready for The Owen. Surprised to see you there in the opening round, mate. It’s gonna be a tough one. But if you can just bear with me for a hot second while I explain to you… Six months of my life got taken away from me, mate. Six months, I’ve been sitting in front of a TV screen, watching AEW, looking at it, trying to get my strength back in my arms, rushing to get back. That’s six months of frustration, six months of anger. And then I finally had my kill shot on Dynasty, and I lost.

“And ever since then, man, I’ve been struggling with my matches. Doc even stopped one for my own safety. I’m annoyed that I didn’t get revenge on Jon. But I’m more upset at the idea that I can’t be the guy that AEW put their trust in once upon a time. Regardless of how I feel about Jon, regardless of how I feel about The Death Riders, there’s nothing that I can say that’ll make people ever understand. But Jon Moxley is the Ace, he’s a soldier for this place. And while his methods might be sick, there are people who stand up to see him get elevated. So what could it happen with him in my corner?

“Joe, I’ve got nothing but respect for ya. Everything that you’ve done in this industry. Mate, you were in the match that made me want to become a pro-wrestler. But no one, no one, is stopping me from winning The Owen. And I find it very poetic that the man takt took away my old life has given me a second chance of capturing the world championship.” The Billy Goat is ready to become something more, but will Samoa Joe make sure Ospreay goes Double or Nothing and loses?

Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.

Lexy Nair congratulates them on their win tonight, and brings up that Moxley has accepted Kyle’s challenge. Kyle says yes, Moxley is right, Kyle has his number. But facing Moxley has been the biggest test of Kyle’s career, so what’s one more test? This Wednesday, it’s a title eliminator, and after Kyle makes Moxley submit again, he is putting all his chips in and goes Double or Nothing! Briscoe says damn right, Kyle. And speaking of Dynamite, Tommaso Ciampa, Briscoe put it plain and clear, but he hasn’t heard a word from Ciampa! If Ciampa’s scared, he should just say it! Cassidy says Willow needs to say something.

The fans rally as Velvet brings Willow up. Willow shoves Velvet, Velvet counter punches! And counter punches! Velvet fires a flurry, but Willow slips around to waistlock. Willow ducks the elbow but Velvet DDTS! Willow goes to ropes, Velvet runs up, DOUBLE KNEES! The fans fire up while Velvet yanks the ropes. Velvet wheelbarrows to BULLDOG! Cover, TWO! Red Velvet brought the fire, but she couldn’t cook Willow! Willow is now rolling towards Double or Nothing and her match with Alex Windsor, but will she then head for her second Owen Hart Cup win?

Backstage interview with Sammy Guevara.

Lexy Nair is with The Spanish God and brings up how he called out Darby Allin just last night at Supercard of Honor for the AEW World Championship. But just like last night, Sammy hushes “Chica” Lexy, and says, “Everybody’s Favorite Pillar is about to talk, so zip it and listen. Darby, I don’t need to call my shot against you because I looked through the history books, and history’s on my side. I’ve beaten you not once, not twice, not three times, I’ve beaten you four times. When I look at the history books, I’m a three-time TNT Champion while you, you’ve only held that belt twice.

“So I’m gonna beat you tonight like I’ve beaten you before. I’m gonna stamp my ticket to Double or Nothing, and MJF, I know you’re watching, you sociopath. I’m gonna beat you next week and I’m gonna shave you BALD! But don’t worry, I’ll give you a nice little fade. Because I am the best! I am the best wrestler, I am the best talker, I am the best this planet has! I’m the Spanish God, dammit! I’m number one, I’ve been here since day one, and there’s only one way this is gonna go: With me as the NEW AEW World Champion! Darby, your time is up, and my time is now. Because I am Numero Uno. That means ‘number one.'”

Sammy heads out, but is his big head only going to get in the way tonight?

Backstage interview with Darby Allin.

Collision returns and Lexy is now with said AEW World Champion. She brings up the five title defenses in 21 days, an AEW record! But tonight is number six against someone Darby’s known for a long time in Sammy Guevara. Darby says when he showed up today, he asked if anyone had seen MJF yet. Then he thought, “What a stupid question. Of course he’s not gonna be at Collision.” MJF is not a company man, he only cares about himself. And those same people asked back, why is Darby back? Why is Darby defending his title again? Double or Nothing is next Sunday, why is Darby risking losing this? Because Darby loves this!

And if there’s anyone in this company as crazy as Darby, it is Sammy Guevara. Darby loves it! Darby realizes this could all end tonight, and Speedball wants his match on Wednesday? Well, if Darby walks out here tonight, then on Dynamite, it’s Showtime! Darby thanks Lexy then heads back out. Will the Relentless Reign be an unstoppable one? Or is this one Collision Darby will not walk away from?

Ciampa then climbs up, soaks up heat, and vows to end Briscoe once and for all! But then Kyle & Cassidy rush out here! Ciampa runs away from The Conglomeration, but he warns them all that he’ll get them for this! Briscoe grabs a mic to shout at Ciampa, “You ain’t nothin’ but a punk, son! You wanna do it like that? Sounds like to me Wednesday night, the only right thing to do is to make this ANYTHING GOES! NO DISQUALIFICATIONS!” The fans like the sound of that!

The Psycho Killer may have just stepped into it! Will there be nothing stopping Briscoe from doing anything he wants to Ciampa?

Winners: Samoa Joe & Anthony Bowens, by submission

The 5 Tool Player shows the power of Joe’s teachings, but he also gets the mic to say, “For the last year, I have been confused. But I have found solace and clarity in the fact that i Have found a group of men, The Opps, that understand everything I do for this business, everything I do for AEW, and everything I do for you!” The fans cheer, and Bowens continues by saying everywhere he goes, he represents the fans, because he is the Pride of Pro-Wrestling! He is your hero! And to be honest, for everything that he does, he deserves a standing ovation! Joe certainly applauds, and the fans here in Salisbury join in!

Bowens says if you’re asking what this change of attitude is about… This man, Samoa Joe, has been teaching Bowens all he needs to know: choices have consequences; and if you don’t like the way the table is set, you flip that table over and you choose violence! The fans cheer, and now Joe speaks on the mic. “Oh, Ospreaaaay~…! Do you understand what I do for my friends? But unfortunately, decisions have consequences, and you chose a different road, Will. So allow me to say this: I am truly beyond honored that you consider facing me a dream match.” The fans cheer that, but Joe says it’s just unfortunate that when he gets Ospreay in the ring, “it’ll be nothing but a nightmare.”

Joe & Bowens have made it clear that no matter who, no matter where, and no matter what, The Opps will not show mercy. Will nothing stop The Opps from taking it all here in AEW?

Backstage interview with #Brodido.

Lexy Nair is with Brody King & Bandido, and wants to talk the Owen Hart Tournament. Brody is set to face Claudio while Bandido is up against Swerve Strickland. Now, if they both win their matches, that pits them against teach other in the semifinals. But what they also needs to talk about is last night, Supercard of Honor, Bandido retained the title, only for Swerve to attack. Brody tells Swerve that he warned him about what would happen if Swerve messed with the people Brody cared about! Next time Brody sees Swerve, he’ll- Bandido stops Brody there, and says no, no, hermano. Bandido loves you, but this is Bandido’s battle, and Brody needs to respect that.

So Bandido tells Swerve that this is a battle Swerve will not win! Swerve may be the Most Dangerous, but Bandido is the Most Wanted! And after Double or Nothing when Bandido beats Swerve, Swerve won’t be a danger to anyone anymore! Both sides of Brodido have spoken, but will either of them knock down Swerve’s House? Or will Swerve’s thirst for power be satiated with the Owen Hart Cup?

AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Eliminator 5 Minute Challenge: The Divine Dominion VS Allie Katch & Kaia McKenna!

Megan Bayne & Lena Kross established just how dominant they are in the first 5 Minute Challenge last week, yet it seems two more poor souls want to test their might. Will Allie & Kaia at least last longer than the previous team? Or will The Megasus & Aussie Amazon score the fatality?

It was only one minute and 50 seconds this time, they’re only getting stronger! Will no duo ever remove Megan & Lena from the mountaintop?

AEW hears from the four fighting for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Kris Statlander says, “At Double or Nothing, I face three women, one who I hate, one who I respect, and one who I’m still not sure about.” The hated one, Thekla, says there’s only one way this ends when she’s up against dumb b*tch after dumb b*tch after dumb b*tch. The respected one, Jamie Hayter, says she had the title stripped away from her and it’s eluded her ever since. And the uncertainty, Hikaru Shida, says even though it is every one for themselves, she knows she and Kris will be on the same page, just like always! Kris says y’know who really has her back? Kris herself! That’s all she needs! Jamie warns Thekla that she’s gonna find out, unfinished business is her favorite kind!

Thekla says Double or Nothing, the Toxic Spider destroys New York! A Fatal 4 Way of epic proportions await, will there be nothing left after the dust clears?

Backstage interview with Athena and Mina Shirakawa.

Lexy Nair is with the ROH Women’s World Champion and the Fighting Gravure Idol, and thanks them for accepting the No Physicality Agreement. They are on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Tournament, this has gotta be a tough one. Athena says maybe, maybe not, but the facts are this: Athena has been the ROH Women’s World Champion for over 1252 DAYS, and has left of dozens of bodies in her wake. Pretty sure Mina’s one of them. Mina says last year at All In, Athena broke Mina’s hand. Athena says so what! Last year at Death Before Dishonor, she kicked Mina’s ass all over the arena! Why does Mina think this match will be any different?

Mina laughs and says last night at Supercard, when she locked in the Figure Four on her opponent, she dreamt it was Athena. Athena says Mina is dreaming of her! So flattered! But she hopes Mina has the best dream tonight: Mina’s dead body in a ditch, next to her precious Toni Storm! Mina tells Athena that Mina has dreamt of winning The Owen and the AEW Women’s World title, while ending Athena! She can’t dream anymore, because now she will live it! Athena says sure, sure. They argue, but Lexy keeps them from getting physical! Will the Fallen Goddess be unstoppable even in AEW? Or will The Owen will be about #MinaNow?

Backstage interview with Lio Rush.

Nigel McGuinness tracked down The Problem Child, and walks over. Lio says hey, Nigel! Good to see you! He saw Nigel put in that work last night, he did great. He did really good. Nigel appreciates that, that’s what he wants to talk about. Specifically, what happened between Lio and his former tag team partner, Action Andretti. Action cost Lio the ROH World TV Championship, what is Lio’s response? Lio says it’s all fine! It’s fine! These things happen, Nigel. Losses happen, friends get upset. It’s fine. It’s fine. Lio keeps saying that, and Nigel says that is the official response. Lio again says it’s good to see Nigel.

But then Lio takes off his sunglasses to show off those creepy eyes. He smiles, and that black goo drools out… Lio continues to say it’s fine, but is it anything but fine? Or should Action learn to sleep with one eye open?

Backstage interview with Anna Jay.

Lexy Nair is with the Queenslayer and commends her on that great return match against Willow Nightingale a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to stop the Comeback Killer. Anna gives all the respect to Willow, her moves hurt. Maybe Anna dove into the deep end, but she didn’t drown. So while Willow is still TBS Champion, maybe Willow isn’t quite the Comeback Killer. Anna came back, is still here, and there is still a lot left for them to do. And by that, she means her and Tay Melo! The besties reunite, and Tay says if Anna is back, and she is back, then there’s one thing they gotta do.

Anna tells if they wanna find out what that is, #JustTryUs! TayJay is back again, but are they going to fight their way right to the Divine Dominion’s tag titles?

AEW World Championship No Count Outs: Darby Allin VS Sammy Guevara!

The Relentless One may have gotten MJF to accept the Double or Nothing challenge, but he is always up for a fight! The Spanish God still has the ROH World Tag Team Championship around his waist, but he wants even more gold to show off to his wife and daughter! Who gets what they want tonight to then head for Queens, New York?

As he makes his entrance, Sammy brings a table out from under the ring and sets it up ringside, planning ahead for the wild fight he and Darby are about to have! The introductions are made, and Darby kneels down with the belt, only for Sammy to STOMP him into it!! The ref reprimands, the fans boo, but Sammy holds up the belt as if he’s already won it! Sammy puts the belt aside, the bell rings, and Sammy KNEES Darby right outta the ring! Sammy THROWS Darby into railing, THROWS him in again, then goes back to his table! Sammy puts the table by the stage, then he drags Darby up. Sammy THROWS Darby into more railing! And more railing!

Sammy grabs a ladder and he brings it over to his table! The ref reprimands, there are no count outs but there are still disqualifications! Sammy doesn’t seem to care, he still stands his ladder up near that table. Sammy then lines up a shot, and he JUMP KNEES Darby back down! “I’m gonna be the world champion! Me! Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)

As if his reign wasn’t wild and reckless before, Darby just doubled down with Sammy here tonight! And yet, he’s now set for a showdown with Speedball in Portland! Will no one and nothing stop Darby Allin from doing this again and again? Or is he about to write a check his body can’t cash?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision that not only fed Double or Nothing but did a great job following up ROH Supercard of Honor, assuring fans that ROH does matter after all, despite the lack of building contenders and therefore new champions. I mean, Athena is STILL champion, even when Survival of the Fittest was the best way to dethrone her while protecting her. But good interaction from Athena and Mina ahead of their Owen Hart Cup match, and if Athena is going to still be champion even now, she might as well just be a finalist already. On the other end, it’d be great if Willow also got to the finals to potentially be a two-time Queen of Harts.

Speaking of Willow, great promo with Conglomeration, great match with Red Velvet, but with Velvet still the ROH Women’s World TV Champion, it makes sense that Willow retains her title. Great Six Man Tag from Conglomeration VS Shane Taylor Promotions, and The Conglomeration’s win helps them build momentum towards all their stories. Very good promo from Kyle, very good promo from Death Riders, and I feel like Kyle should at least last the 20 minute time limit to earn his title match with Moxley for Double or Nothing. Meanwhile, Cassidy & Roddy are NOT winning against FTR, FTR has to settle things with Cope & Christian first.

Ciampa going after Briscoe, that whole brawl, and then Briscoe upping the ante for Dynamite, that No Disqualification match is going to be awesome. Very good tag match of Joe & Bowens VS Lethal & Lee, with a good win for The Opps. Very good promo from Joe & Bowens after, and a very good promo from Ospreay, too. Joe VS Ospreay could be a show stealer, but I would think Ospreay wins so that his story with The Death Riders can be part of the Owen Cup. TayJay being back together is great, and I can see them going right at Divine Dominion and easily lasting the five minutes to then earn their title match later on.

Great Six Man Tag of Davis & Dogs VS Rascalz, but with Stadium Stampede looming, naturally Davis & Dogs won to bring momentum for their team. I’d expect The Demand to have their own tune-up for the three-hour super show go-home next week, but they might’ve announced that tonight if that were the case. Very good promo from Lio Rush to further this Jekyll & Hyde/Smeagle & Gollum type of gimmick for him. For those who didn’t watch Supercard (or haven’t read my article on it), Action Andretti turned on Lio Rush and partially blamed Lio’s new dark side for it. RIP CRU, we hardly knew you, but Action VS this Lio is going to be great stuff between AEW and ROH programming.

And of course, another insane instant classic from Darby Allin as he and Sammy use No Count Outs to get hardcore. Good bit of selling from Darby to tease his body giving out on him, but naturally he wins out. They might do a similar spot during his match against Speedball on Wednesday to make it seem MJF has a chance of taking the title at Double or Nothing.

My Score: 8.9/10

PLAY BY PLAY

MJF arrives backstage.

Renee Paquette is there to bring up tonight’s main event is Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW World Championship. If Darby Allin wins, MJF will then have to sign a contract for Title VS Hair at Double or Nothing. Darby has made it clear that if MJF doesn’t sign said contract, Darby will never allow MJF to face him for the title again. We all know how important the title is for MJF, but is MJF willing to put his hair on the line for it? MJF just chuckles and moves on, but he notices the very bald Rick Knox, Bryce Remsburg, and the head of security, David Aponte. And then various bald members of the production staff…

And then even Christopher Daniels & Sonjay Dutt are there! Daniels and Sonjay chuckle before moving on, and then MJF sees John Silver flexing. Brandon Cutler, some arena staff, and even Tommaso Ciampa, all bald. Then last but certainly not least, Ricochet! He tells MJF that don’t worry, he’ll look great. Just not as good as Ricochet. AHA~! MJF storms off, will he have no choice but to choose between gold belt and chrome dome?

10 Man Tag: Orange Cassidy, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage & The Young Bucks VS Tommaso Ciampa, David Finlay, Clark Connors & FTR w/ Stokely Hathaway!

While we know the AEW World Tag Team Championship match will be a conglomeration of I Quit Match and New York Street Fight, THE Conglomeration will be waiting on the other side for their own tag title match. And let’s not forget that Matt & Nick Jackson want their own shot at those titles again. With that, can Freshly Squeezed work together with C&C and The Bucks? Or will the Psycho Killer, the Dogs, and the Top Guys all stand tall on the road to Double or Nothing?

The teams sort out and the teams just brawl it out! The fans cheer as The Bucks have The Dogs, Cope is after Ciampa, Christian is after Cash, and Dax brawls with Cassidy! Dax bumps Cassidy off buckles but Cassidy ducks the haymaker to waistlock. The Bucks, Cope & Christian clear everyone else out, then take the brawl outside! Finlay CLAWS Nick’s face, Cassidy ROCKS Dax, and Cassidy whips. Dax reverses, Cassidy goes up and out to then SMACK Dax off buckles! Cassidy goes up, Ciampa BOOTS Nick, and Dax trips Cassidy. Dax CHOPS Cassidy, climbs up after him, and goes to the very top! The fans boo but Dax stands Cassidy up, SUPER DUPER PLEX!

Dax then rolls through to suplex again, but Cassidy STUN-DOG MILLIONAIRES! Cassidy runs, tilt-o-whirls, and DDTS! Cassidy kips up, the fans fire up, but Finlay sends Nick into steel steps! #BigStoke grabs Cassidy’s foot, Cash CLOBBERS Cassidy! The fans boo but Dax puts Cassidy in the corner to tag Ciampa. FTR and the Psycho Killer mug Cassidy! The fans boo and the ref reprimands, but Ciampa stands Cassidy up. Cassidy blocks the chop! And he blocks another chop! The fans cheer but Ciampa kicks low and CHOPS again! The fans boo but Ciampa soaks up that heat. Ciampa drags Cassidy by a leg, turns him over, but Cassidy fights around!

Cassidy kicks and kicks but Ciampa drags him back! Cassidy turns to BOOT Ciampa away! Dax tags in and he CLOBBERS Cassidy! The fans boo but Dax flips them off. Dax whips Cassidy, runs up, but Cassidy dodges! Dax POSTS himself! Both men are down, hot tags to Cash and Nick! Nick rallies on FTR with haymakers, BLASTS Ciampa, but Cash kicks low! FTR whips, DOUBLE HIP- NO, Nick lands out, MEETING OF TEH MINDS! Then DOUBLE WHEEL KICK! The fans fire up as Nick then DROPKICKS Dax out! The Dogs run up, but Nick knuckle locks and CHOPS Finlay! Then Nick jumps over Connors, SUPERKICKS, and he goes for the corner!

Nick goes up, up, and “LUCHA LIBRE~!” FLYING ARM-DRAG RANA COMBO! The fans are thunderous and Nick tags Matt. Nick whips Finlay, Finlay reverses, but Nick goes up and over. Matt SUPERKICKS Finlay! Nick SHINING WIZARDS Connors, adds a GAMANGIRI, then The Bucks DOUBLE BULLDOG with the high-five! The fans fire up again as Matt winds up. Another star-studded 10 Man Tag, and it was a huge win for all the hungry contenders. Christian doesn’t wanna celebrate, but he does signal that he and Cope will be champions. Will putting their tag team legacy on the line be enough to take the gold? Or will Double or Nothing be the last night that team reeks of awesomeness?

Will Ospreay continues to train with The Death Riders.

They’re outside this time, Claudio Castagnoli playing some wall ball with Marina Shafir and Pac. Daniel Garcia says, “Tonight is the night that we’ve all been waiting for: The Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, is cleared and back on Dynamite. And rumor has it, the kid’s been working real hard and he’s got some new tricks up his sleeves. So Young Boy Billy, tonight you gotta show me something, c’mon.” Garcia gets a quick turn in on wall ball while cameras move over. Ospreay is maintaining a neck bridge while Jon Moxley uses Wheeler Yuta as a living dummy to show just how to push and pull and bend and twist on the various chinlocks and headlocks.

Use the right arm to push against the head, then snake in the left arm for the sleeper. Pry and shoot. Moxley asks how Ospreay feels. Ospreay lets off the bridge and says honestly, the best he’s felt in forever. Moxley asks if Ospreay remembers the night he won the Best of the Super Juniors. Yeah, 2019. AKA a lifetime ago. Ospreay was carefree, flew like a bird, for no other reason than that’s just what birds do. So simple back then, chasing that feeling, like no other feeling in the world. Can’t really grab it in your hands for more than a few seconds. The joy of doing it. Then everybody comes in and tries to make it so overcomplicated.

Years pass, life happens, a family starts, responsibilities show up, bad things happen, bad choices catch up to you, and it’s all weight on your shoulders. You feel like you can’t fly. But Moxley will tell you something: Nothing is different. Nothing has changed. All those things are still gonna be there, but you can still fly. You’re just more dangerous now. You’re a bird of prey. So tonight, when you got out there, don’t go out there to protect anything. Not your neck, your image, your reputation, or what you’ve built in your career. Go out there to give something. Moxley checks on Yuta and says dammit, if you’re gonna snap a headlock, snap the headlock!

Moxley storms off to instruct his pupil, but will Ospreay use everything he has been taught to great effect? Or will he have to fold against Ace Austin?

Chris Jericho speaks.

“You wanna face Jericho in a match of my own design, Ricochet? A spectacle so innovative, so imaginative, it cannot be contained, it can only be witnessed. Well, be careful what you demand, because you’ve made a few enemies yourself, Ricochet. And now a match designed specifically to settle scores without any, and I mean AAANY~, limitations has gotten even bigger.” Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate were just looking for two more, but “Jungle” Jack Perry said he can bring four: himself, The Young Bucks, and KENNY OMEGA! Jericho tells Ricochet that this is no longer what he designed, but it is a devil’s dance of destruction! Ricochet’s destruction!

Ricochet got what he wanted, now can he handle it? Bald. The first-ever SEVEN VS SEVEN Stadium Stampede, who will even survive?

Ricochet & The Demand respond.

They stand with Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family and Ricochet says we all know Jericho does a lot of talking out of his ass while The Demand gets things done. Just like Davis did when he defeated Jack for the AEW National Championship at Fairway to Hell. Hold it with pride, Davis, Ricochet knows you’ll do it well. Davis says he’s got this. Ricochet says Davis has joined the dream team, but he’s not the only one. Because compliments to Ricochet’s golfing buddy, Don Callis, look who else he’s sending: Andrade El Idolo! Gracias, amigo. But it doesn’t stop there, the train keeps rolling. Ricochet was just approached by two guys who have an ax to grind with the superkick sidekicks.

These two wanna fill out the last two spots, so who is Ricochet to say no to The Dogs? Finlay & Connors storm in, and Finlay says to put it simple, they will fight The Bucks in the streets, in the ring, but guess it’s fighting at Double or Nothing! If they want violence, if they want carnage, if they want chaos, who better than The Dogs?! The Dogs bark and Liona roars, but will these seven stand tall in the Big Apple?

“Speedball” Mike Bailey w/ Kevin Knight VS BK Westbrook!

JetSpeed has a lot of momentum on their side, and as stated last week at Fairway to Hell, they’re looking to grab up all the gold they can. Will Speedball keep on rolling towards his own golden opportunity? Or will #Supastud prove his own worth?

The bell rings and the fans rally as the two step up. Bailey bows in respect, offers a handshake, but Westbrook goes to roll Bailey up! Bailey stays on his feet, then steps over to sit down on a cover, TWO! Westbrook ducks a Penalty Kick, avoids the moonsault, and the sweep! Bailey dodges, Westbrook tiger feints through the ropes, but Bailey handsprings up and over! The fans fire up as Bailey ducks an elbow to whip. Westbrook goes up, around, but kinda fumbles his tumble. The fans cheer and jeer him for his attempt, but Westbrook blocks the boot! Westbrook FLIPS Bailey, springboards in, but Bailey dodges! TIME ADVENTURE!

Bailey pushes Westbrook down, goes up the corner, and the fans fire up for the ULTIMATE WEAPON! Cover, Bailey wins!

AEW reveals the Men’s Owen Hart Memorial Tournament Brackets!

This year’s tournaments will go through Double or Nothing, and the finals will coincide with Forbidden Door 2026 on Sunday, June 28th in San Jose, California! The winner of each tournament will then challenge for THE AEW World Championship and AEW Women’s World Championships on August 30th at All In: London! You see, you’re built like an Australia grizzly bear, yet you still needed somebody to hit me in the back with a golf club for you to beat me. At Stadium Stampede, bring your friends, bring any weapon you want, and I will crack you over the skull with it. Because anything goes. But after that, it’s back to grass roots, because it is you and me, fighting for a shot at the world title at All In: London. And in the Owen Hart Tournament, I will prove to you beyond a shadow of a doubt that I’m a better wrestler than you. I am the FUTURE world champion!

“And if you don’t like that, F YOU!” Jungle Jack is sharpening his knife, but will his edge be razor sharp when it comes time to cut down Dunkzilla?

Winner: Will Ospreay, by submission

That might’ve been Ospreay’s first win by submission ever! He signals that his neck is no longer a problem, and he shows Ace respect for that fight. Ace accepts the handshake again, and Ospreay is moving on towards Double or Nothing with a great amount of momentum. But wait! SAMOA JOE is here! He and The Opps walk out on stage, and with mic in hand, Joe says, “Ospreay, Ospreay… OSPREAY, OSPREAY!” Joe is clearly mocking the chants for Ospreay, and the fans give genuine chanting and even singing in return. Joe says he just wanted to make sure Ospreay was listening, because these past few weeks, it seemed like Ospreay had a hard time hearing him.

Despite Ospreay’s best efforts, fate has put them on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Cup. The fans like the sound of that! Joe say she is here for one reason and one reason alone. He wants to speak about choices and consequences. Ospreay could’ve made the right choice and get a bye in this tournament, because that is what Joe would do for one of his friends. But Ospreay chose poorly. He could’ve been with the team that would do nothing but support and enhance Ospreay, but he decided to be a lapdog for Moxley and the Death Riders. The fans boo, Ospreay says he’s not a Death Rider.

Joe says Ospreay has made his choice, and come Double or Nothing, Joe makes Ospreay suffer the consequences. But Joe leaves Ospreay in peace tonight, for he has his date with destiny. But unfortunately, Joe’s friends, Katsuyori Shibata & Anthony Bowens, still feel slighted, and he doesn’t put leashes on his friends. Shibata & Bowens storm down the ramp, Ospreay ready to fight them both if he has to. But then The Death Riders appear! Ospreay may not have officially joined the club, but the Death Riders aren’t going to let their investment go to waste! The Opps say they’re #NeverLacking, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now!

Shibata & Bowens back down while Moxley, Marina, Claudio, Yuta, Garcia & Pac all step up to support Ospreay. Joe says, “Soon. Soon.” The fans cheer the Death Riders, or at least Moxley, but Bowens promises Joe is gonna kill you, Ospreay! The dream match for Double or Nothing is on, but will the training with The Death Riders make Ospreay the new King of Harts?

BREAKING NEWS for next week!

If you liked last week’s THREE HOUR block of AEW, then you’ll love this next one! Portland, Maine, the last Wednesday before Double or Nothing, Dynamite & Collision are combining forces again! Three hours all on TBS and HBO Max, make sure your DVR is set accordingly!

Backstage interview with Don Callis & Konosuke Takeshita.

Renee is now with The Invisible Hand & The Alpha, saying tonight is a huge opportunity in the main event, Konosuke facing Darby Allin for THE AEW World Championship. Konosuke could be heading into Double or Nothing as a- Callis stops Renee there to say Konosuke will be heading into Double or Nothing as a DOUBLE champion! But then MJF steps in, apologizes for the interruption but says Renee’s doing a great job. The Scumbag tells Konosuke that while it’s been a minute since the two of them have talked, three years actually, back when MJF beat him… MJF has seen Konosuke develop into truly one of the best wrestlers in the world!

MJF believes that tonight, Konosuke beats Darby for the title, goes to DON to beat Okada, and MJF can’t think of a better match than Konosuke VS MJF Part 2 for the world title. How’s that sound? MJF offers a handshake, Konosuke shakes his hand, but in Japanese, Konosuke tells MJF that he’ll beat the crap out of him. Thankfully, MJF doesn’t know Japanese. Callis says that was a nice pep talk MJF just gave, and MJF says yes, he knows. That kid needs to win, okay? MJF can’t let Darby turn him into some disgusting, bald freak! No offense, Callis looks great. But look, there is only one foolproof way to know MJF won’t be put in that situation.

So if things get hairy… MJF hands over the Dynamite Diamond Ring! Callis smiles, and say she understands what to do with it. But then in steps Andrade. El Idolo takes off his hat to shake out his amazing head of hair, and smiles at MJF. MJF frowns and leaves. Callis says here’s the deal: Takeshita will bring the world title home to the Don Callis Family tonight! Andrade asks, “How you know?” Callis says aye dios mio, he seriously doesn’t know where Andrade learned English. Andrade says one way or another, the next time, that will be HIS title. Callis says yes, he knows, it’s all good. Callis is a man of many talents, but will his family be dripping with gold thanks to a diamond ring?

AEW now announces the Women’s Owen Hart Memorial Tournament brackets!

Double or Nothing will see Willow Nightingale, the reigning Queen of Harts, take on Alex Windsor, while we will see Persephone VS Hazuki, Skye Blue vs Sareee, and Mina Shirakawa VS Athena! Champions from around the world are gathering for this tournament, but who will be headed to Forbidden Door, and then All In: London?

Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.

Renee Paquette is now with Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Willow Nightingale. Renee commends Cassidy on his part in the 10 Man Tag victory. But it seems that there is even more business to attend to. Cassidy says yes, the team has a shot at THE AEW World Tag Team Championships. It doesn’t matter who it is, they’re getting their shot, but the thing is… They still haven’t decided on which two will be. Kyle says Cassidy & Roddy should go for the gold, but Roddy shouts, “KYYYLE~! Thank you.” Kyle says of course. But that’s cuz he’s got gold to chase for himself!

The same man that put Kyle on the shelf for months is the man that Kyle submitted twice, and will submit again. Jon Moxley, Continental Champion, when are we doing this? Willow says speaking of gold, she is still the TBS Champion. But she is also in the Owen Hart Cup. She won this tournament before, she’ll do it all over again, so that she can have all the gold for herself at All In: London. She knows she can, and she will! Then Conglomeration has it all in order? Cassidy says hold on, there’s something missing. They should do a Word of the Day. Why haven’t they done one in so long? Roddy shouts for “MAAARK~!” And yes, Mark Briscoe returns!

The Sussex County Chicken is all fired up, and he says the Word of the day is reunification! For Mark Briscoe is back with his boys and his girls, The Conglomeration! But he’ll put this plain and simple: Tommaso Ciampa! Next Wednesday, Briscoe’s after your ass, son! You hear him? But before that, Saturday Night Collision is in HIS hometown, Salisbury, Maryland! That’s just 4.4 miles from where Briscoe originated on this earth! They’re gonna conglomerate and it’s gonna be a a hell of a time! Are you ready!? Willow and Kyle are fired up, Briscoe goes wild, and the team heads out. Cassidy admits, that was a lot of yelling.

But while The Conglomeration is ready to go Double or Nothing, will they soon have even more gold in the collection? Or are these high and lofty a little too much even for them?

Six Woman Tag: Hikaru Shida & The Brawling Birds VS The Triangle of Madness!

With the news of both the AEW Women’s World Championship Fatal 4 Way for Double or Nothing, and the Owen Hart Cup brackets, this trios match is about much more than just settling scores! Will the Shining Samurai be just as sharp as Jamie Hayter going into that title match? Or will Thekla, Skye Blue & Julia Hart continue to bring them down by any means necessary?

The trios sort out and Jamie steps up against Thekla as both a rematch from their 1v1 title match, and a preview of what’s to come in the next. They circle, but then Skye CLOBBERS Jamie! Julia steps in, but so do Shida and Windsor! The Triangle throws hands on Shida & The Birds, then triple whip. But all three reverse, a BOOT for Thekla, a DDT for Skye, and a BACKBREAKER for Julia! The fans cheer as The Triangle bails out! Shida goes out to keep after Skye while Windsor goes after Julia. Jamie gets Thekla back in the ring while Shida and Windsor have the Sisters of Sin in the corners of the barriers. The fans cheer as they all rain down fists!

Windsor, Jamie & Shida all go to nine, then wind up for TEN! The fans cheer again while Thekla sputters. Jamie snap suplexes, but Skye ROCKS Shida! Jamie stomps Thekla, Windsor SLAMS Julia off barriers, and Jamie stomps a mudhole in the corner. The ref counts, Jamie lets off, but Skye and Windsor meet while tightrope walking the barriers! Skye and Windsor trade shots, they wobble a bit, then Skye DECKS Windsor! Skye keeps from falling into the crowd, but Jamie gets her! Windsor joins in and the Birds double gorilla press, SNAKE EYES off the apron! The fans fire up, but Thekla is up top! SUPER CROSSBODY onto The Birds!

The fans fire up again and Thekla is feeling it while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Thekla stomps Windsor, CLUBS Jamie, then helps Skye. But Shida runs up, only for Thekla to ELBOW her down! The Triangle has control again, they ROCK Jamie and Shida and Windsor, then send them all to the desk. The Triangle CHOP again and again and again! Then they wind up, but feint chops to SMACK all three off the apron! The Triangle soaks up the cheers and jeers before putting Jamie back in the ring. Thekla brings Jamie up, snapmares her down, then basement SUPERKICKS! Cocky cover, TWO! Thekla drags Jamie to the corner, tags Julia, and Julia runs up to LARIAT! Then she goes side to side to ELBOW Jamie down!

Julia snapmares Jamie to a cover, TWO! Julia is annoyed but she rains down fists. The ref reprimands, Julia stops, but then she sucker punches Windsor! And Shida, too! Julia then drags Jamie over, bumps her off buckles, and tags in Skye. Skye stomps Jamie around, then digs her boot in! The ref counts, Skye stops at 4, then she brings Jamie up. Jamie fires forearms and CHOPS, but Skye THROWS Jamie down by her hair! The ref reprimands again but Skye rains down forearms. Skye snapmares Jamie, mule kicks her, then covers, TWO! Skye frowns but she stomps Jamie down. Skye tags Julia while Dynamite returns to single picture.

Skye whips Jamie into Julia’s grasp, and Skye BLASTS Shida & Windsor while Julia tags Thekla. Julia has Jamie in the TARANTULA, and Skye sends Windsor in for Thekla’s HANGING HEADSCISSORS! Skye runs up to DOUBLE SHOTGUN The Birds! The fans are torn but Thekla says that’s how the Triangle does it, baby! Thekla then aims to MISSILE- NO, Jamie gest under! Thekla lands out, but Jamie BOOTS her down! Jamie looks at Shida, Shida is hesitant, but Shida tags in! The fans cheer as Shida sends Theknla to the corner, then JUMP KNEES! Shida keeps moving, she BLASTS Skye! Julia ROCKS Shida back!

Julia storms in but Shida kicks her and whips her into Thekla! Shida KNEES them both in the corner! Then Shida puts Thekla sideways in the corner, reels Julia in, and she snap suplexes Julia into Thekla! The fans fire up as Shida then suplexes Thekla high and hard! Cover, TWO! Shida stands Thekla up, Thekla swings but Shida ROCKS her first! And ROCKS her again! Thekla wobbles, swings, but Shida catches Thekla for another forearm! Shida runs the ropes but Thekla mule kicks! Thekla SMACKS Shida, then she dodges a boot to DECK Shida! Thekla talks trash on Shida, then drags her up to tag in Julia.

Julia tags Skye, then tag back to Thekla. The Sisters of Sin hit the DOUBLE GOURD BUSTER and DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! Thekla hits the bridge, and she aims for the SPIDER SPEAR! Cover, but The Birds CLOBBER The Sisters of Sin onto it! The fans fire up a Windsor DECKS Skye and Jamie HEADBUTTS Julia! The Birds drag Shida to safety, Windsor tags in, and she CLOBBERS Thekla! Windsor CLUBS away, then fires the fans up. Jamie steps in, BOOT RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP COMBO! Basement LARIAT! And then Windsor lifts! Jamie runs up, but Skye trips Jamie! The fans boo but Skye sends Jamie into steel steps!

Thekla sends Windsor into buckles! Tag to Julia before Shida runs up, TAMASHII KNEE on Thekla! Skye SUPERKICKS Shida! Jamie is back to clinch and HAYTBREAKER! Julia runs up, slips around, SOLE FOOD! Julia kips up, but Windsor is there to whip Julia to ropes! Skye tags in before the SPINEBUSTER! Skye SUPERKICKS Windsor, then brings her up! Skye hops on, CODE- NO, Windsor pops free! Skye SUPERKICKS again, but Windsor HEADBUTTS! The fans fire up as Jamie joins in again, and they DOUBLE LARIAT SANDWICH! Then they set Skye up, and Jamie says let’s try this again!

Jamie runs the ropes, but Thekla slides in, BELT SHOT on Jamie!! No question that the ref saw that! The Triangle is disqualified!

Winners: Hikaru Shida & The Brawling Birds, by disqualification

The Toxic Spider doesn’t care about this win, she just wants to do damage! Skye gets Windsor in a DRAGON SLEEPER! The ref stops Thekla from sing the title belt again, so Thekla just takes off her own belt! And she LASHES Windsor while Skye holds her down! More refs rush out here, but Julia MISTS the newbie in the face! Julia stomps away on Jamie, not caring about fines or consequences, either! The fans boo, and Shida is bailing on the Birds? Shida cares more about her chances in that Fatal 4 Way than anything else. But then Willow, Mina, and even Thunder Rosa rush out here! They chase The Triangle off with belts of their own!

The fans cheer as The Babe, the Fighting Gravure Idol & La Mera Mera save the day. But will Jamie make sure Thekla and Shida pay for this at Double or Nothing?

AEW World Championship: Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita!

They say “card subject to change,” and that is true even for the best in the world. Kazuchika Okada’s real family takes priority, but his Don Callis Family brother was more than happy to step up for this opportunity. Will The Alpha already have two belts by the time he and The Rainmaker battle over the International Championship? Or will Darby truly be relentless in his pursuit of being the best fighting champion in AEW history?

The introductions are made, THE belt is raised, and we see who goes to Double or Nothing on top!

Callis joins commentary to say that while Darby’s been breaking his own body, Konosuke has perfected “rejuvenation training,” aka relaxing on a beach and sipping sake! The bell rings, and Darby SHOTGUNS Konosuke out! Then Darby DIVES, but Konosuke catches him! Konosuke POSTS Darby, then THROWS him into railing! Konosuke THROWS Darby into the ring, the fans fire up for both guys, and Konosuke hurries to BOOT Darby off the apron! Darby falls in front of commentary but Konosuke gets him right back in the ring. Cover, ONE!! The fans rally as Darby shows his grit, but Konosuke snarls.

Konosuke drags Darby up, Darby fires forearms, but the ALPHA ELBOW knocks Darby down! The fans fire up while Konosuke looms over Darby. Konosuke stands Darby up, and THROWS him into a corner! Darby bounces off the buckles and is bleeding from the mouth already! Konosuke stands Darby up, hoists him up top, then he climbs up after him. But Darby BITES Konosuke, CLUBS him down, and leaps for a CROSSBODY, but he bounces off Konosuke! The fans fire up again as Konosuke whips Darby for a BACKDROP! Darby got serious hangtime there, and he flounders out of the ring. Darby coughs and sputters but the fans rally up.

Konosuke goes out after Darby but Darby SMACKS him! Konosuke KNEES low, KNEES him again and again and again! Konosuke KNEES Darby against the barriers, then refreshes the count. Konosuke whips Darby hard into railing! Darby sputters as he leans against the railing, but Konosuke positions the steel steps. Konosuke then fetches Darby, lines up a shot, but Darby fights the suplex! Darby CLAWS Konosuke’s back, then fires a shot. Konosuke DECKS Darby in return! Darby slumps against the steps, Konosuke runs up, but Darby dodges! Konosuke’s knees hit the steps and he tumbles over! Darby then runs up the steps to SHOTGUN Konosuke down!

The fans fire up while both men are down on the floor! Konosuke checks his knee before he crawls around, and Darby gets in the ring so he can build speed! Darby DIVES! Direct hit on Konosuke but Darby’s the one who hits the desk! The fans fire up while both men are down again, but Darby rises up to get Konosuke on the apron! Darby fires forearms, then goes up a corner! COFFIN- NO, Konosuke catches him for a SUPER BLUE THUNDER BOMB to the floor!! The fans go nuts again and Callis says that’s the end of Darby Allin, but Dynamite goes picture in picture.

The ref hurries to check Darby but Callis tells Doc Sampson to call it. Darby is somehow still in this, so Konosuke storms his way over. Konosuke drags Darby up, puts him in the ring, then paces around him. Konosuke runs the ropes to LARIAT! Darby flips inside-out, Konosuke covers him, TWO!! Darby still has fight inside but he’s also dazed. Konosuke clamps onto Darby with a chinlock and squeezes tight. Darby endures, even as Konosuke leans on him with his much-taller frame. Darby reaches out, fights around, and rises up, only for Konosuke to CANADIAN RACK BOMB! Darby sputters all over again while Dynamite returns to single picture.

Konosuke sits back as he watches Darby crawl to the apron. Konosuke storms his way over, but Darby RAMS low! Slingshot sunset flip, but Konosuke rolls through! Only for Darby to kick the legs out! Darby catches Konosuke to a GUILLOTINE! Konosuke endures the squeeze, fights up to his feet, and he powers out to THROW Darby! Darby lands out, fires shots, and RAMS low! Darby then hops on, but Konosuke stops Code Red! Konosuke swings Darby around, tucks him in, BASTARD DRIVER! And WHEELBARROW GERMAN! The fans fire up and Callis says that’s true power! Darby sputters again and Konosuke vows to end this.

Konosuke runs corner to corner, HELLUVA KICK!! Then he hoists Darby up top, climbs up after him, and goes to the very top! The fans freak out already for the SUPER DUPER GERMAN SUPLEX!! Bridging cover, TWO!!! Callis is freaking out as much as the fans, and he protests the count! Konosuke is furious, but he aims for the WAGAMAMA KNEE!!! Cover, TWO?!?! Darby survives by nanoseconds, and Konosuke is beside himself! “This is Awesome!” but now CLØN rushes out here! He distracts the ref, and Callis hurries to take the Dynamite Diamond Ring off his finger to put it in Konosuke’s hands! Konosuke thinks about it, but The Alpha has honor!

The fans cheer as Konosuke wants to do this his way! But then Darby runs up, cradles, TWO!! Konosuke escapes, ALPHA ELBOW!! Darby is down, dazed, but still moving! Konosuke drags Darby up again, goes back to the corner and back to the top rope. The fans hope these two “FIGHT FOREVER!” but it has to end somehow! Darby fights against the lift with headlock punches! Then he hops on, SUPER CODE RED!! Konosuke staggers up, Darby leg scissors, steps through, LAST SUPPER!! TWO?!?! Konosuke escapes again, then bails out! So Darby just goes up top! SUPER COFFIN DROP!! Direct hit and both men are down again!

The fans are thunderous as Konosuke and Darby stir. A ring count climbs, Callis complains that some people just gotta follow directions and run the play! Coach Callis pulled Konosuke outta obscurity, Konosuke would do anything! Now he’s got some gold, some fame, and gets a mind of his own! Callis complaining aside, the ring count is climbing! Darby drags himself in at 9, but Konosuke YANKS him back out! That refreshes the count, and Konosuke vows to end this for real now. Konosuke points to the steel steps, and he drags Darby up onto them with a deadlift RAGING- NO, Darby knees Konosuke, turns things around, and FULL METAL SCORPION DEATH DROP!!!

The fans go nuts again while Konosuke writhes! Konosuke flops off the steps, Darby crawls into the ring, and Darby just climbs the corner again! SUPER DUPER COFFIN DROP!!! Konosuke might be unconscious! Darby still hauls Konosuke into the ring, pushes him to a cover, TWO?!?!? Konosuke survives and Darby is furious! But Darby just reloads, COFFIN DROP but onto knees!!! Ghost pin, TWO!!! Darby escapes but the WAGAMAMA KNEE finds him!! Konosuke hauls Darby up, but Darby pops free! Trip, step through, and SCORPION DEATH LOCK!!! Konosuke endures, reaches out, but Darby sits deep!!

Callis says don’t even think about it! Konosuke almost does, but he bites his own thumb to ignore the pain in his back! Konosuke reaches out, crawls his way forward, and he fights to the ROPEBREAK!!! But Darby is right up top! COFFION DROP on the back!! Then Darby goes right back up, COFFIN DROP again!!! Cover, DARBY WINS!!

Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)

Callis is steaming, but Darby overcomes Konosuke to avenge that loss in the Continental Classic! But it also took so much out of him just to do it! Darby still asks for a mic and one is brought to him. Darby sits up against the ropes, has them cut his music, and he tells MJF to get his ass out here! There’s a contract MJF needs to sign! The ring crew hurries to bring in a table and some chairs for that very contract signing, and MJF makes his entrance. MJF reluctantly makes his way down the ramp, and both men meet at the table. Darby grins with blood still in hiss teeth, and he signs his part of the contract without hesitation, unlike MJF.

The fans already chant “BALD! BALD! BALD!” at MJF, and Darby pushes the contract to his side of the table. MJF grabs the pen, reaches out, but then steps away. MJF scratches his chin as he thinks on this, and the fans just chant, “BALD! BALD! BALD!” again. MJF takes a mic to say he’ll explain something to Darby, looking like he has rabies. But see, MJF is happy for Darby, he hopes Darby’s had fun holding MJF’s AEW World Championship. The fans boo that, but MJF says deep down, there is a small part of him, like the size of a North Carolinian p*nis small. That small part of MJF feels bad for Darby, because he’ll never hold this again!

Darby’s got about a good a chance of holding this title as Hangman Adam Page does again. MJF says guys like Darby are a dime a dozen, here today and gone tomorrow, stuntmen who burn the candle at both ends. In this life, people like all these fans here like to pretend that life is about making friends and family and children. The only thing that matters in life is your legacy. And Darby’s legacy will be that of the kid who had his 15 minutes of fame. They’ll pretend like Darby made a lasting impact, but the fact of the matter is, he hasn’t. He hasn’t! They’ll know deep down that Darby Allin was just a little pr*ck who got lucky.

They’ll know that Darby was too reckless and stupid to stay on top. And after May 24th, Double or Nothing, in that sh*thole of Queens, New York, y’know what MJF’s legacy will be? He’ll go down as the guy who became a THREE-TIME World Champion at just 30 years of age, unprecedented in this sport. And MJF will go down, when it’s all said and done, as the Greatest of All Time! THAT is the difference between them! Darby Allin brags about climbing a mountaintop. But when it comes to professional wrestling, Maxwell Jacob Friedman IS the mountaintop! The fans boo but MJF soaks it up. Darby tells MJF to SHUT UP!

Only someone like MJF who is so vain would think that the number one most important thing in this world is his legacy. Darby doesn’t care about legacy, he cares about living in the moment! And in this moment, Darby just wants MJF to sign the contract. Then at Double or Nothing, Darby makes Maxwell Jacob Friedman a BALLD HEADED B*TCH!! MJF frowns but the fans cheer that! MJF grabs the pen again, and with no choice, he signs on the dotted line! Then he TACKLES Darby! The fans boo as MJF beats up Darby after the war he went through with Konosuke! MJF CHUCKS an armchair outta the ring, FLIPS the table, then picks up his Dynamite Diamond Ring.

MJF puts the ring on his finger like always, then winds up to DECK Darby!! The fans boo but MJF just soaks it all up. MJF throws off his jacket, picks up the belt, and he stands over Darby with it. But then MJF isn’t done with Darby, he puts Darby on the top rope! MJF climbs up to join him, and drags Darby into position! But wait! Kevin Knight runs out here to chase MJF off! The Jet still owes The Scumbag a receipt, but it seems we’ll all have to wait on that. Will MJF still take back the title at Double or Nothing? Or will Darby keep the belt and take MJF’s dignity?

My Thoughts:

An awesome episode for Dynamite as things heat up towards Double or Nothing. Awesome 10 Man Tag to open, great win for the Faces, not that it added much to FTR VS C&C. Good promo from Jericho to look back on Stadium Stampede and hype up this year’s match. Good promo from The Demand with Davis and The Dogs, and I suppose this maximizes the feuds as well as the alliances throughout the locker room. Who knows who wins but the match will still be awesome, just as the original was. Good promo from Conglomeration, too, Cassidy & Roddy going after FTR while Kyle VS Moxley happens on the side, that’s great stuff.

Speaking of Moxley, great promo from him and Ospreay. Moxley’s semi-turn has really brought out his sage philosophical side. Great match from Ospreay VS Ace, and while Ospreay could always bring out his aggression, seeing him use more technical wrestling and even winning with a submission is good stuff. Good promo from Joe, and I liked Death Riders backing Ospreay up. Very good Owen Hart Cup brackets this year, Joe VS Ospreay is a great choice given this story, but I would think Ospreay wins that one. Good promo from Jack Perry to call out Davis, and I suppose Jack can win in the Owen Cup to then move on from the National title.

Great seeing Brian Cage back, he gave Knight an awesome match, but with JetSpeed wanting to go on a Two Man Power Trip, it makes sense Kevin won out. Same for Bailey beating Westbrook, even though Westbrook maybe went too hard on his own acrobatic escape. Great stuff in the Six Woman Tag, and I appreciate Shida didn’t ditch until after the match. Willow, Mina & Rosa might get their own Six Woman Tag with Triangle of Madness after that interaction, but also can’t wait to see if Willow can go back-to-back as Queen of Harts. For that matter, I personally would love to see Athena use the Owen Cup to move on from being ROH Women’s World Champion, but that depends on how Supercard of Honor goes this Friday.

And of course, another wild instant classic from Darby as he overcomes Takeshita. I knew the diamond ring would come into play with that reverse effect, good way of protecting Takeshita in the loss. Good stuff with MJF tonight, too, such as the opening segment’s parade of bald men to send the message to MJF. That was also a unique contract signing segment in that it came together so quickly after the main event match. Good stuff from MJF as always, and of course he attacks Darby. I feel like either Knight should not have made the save, or both parts of JetSpeed should’ve made the save. It just seems odd that only Knight cared about saving Darby. The closing moment was much better when it was MJF standing over Darby with the belt.

My Score: 9/10
