AEW mourns the loss of Jerry Jarrett.

8 Man Tag: Orange Cassidy, Billy Gunn & The Acclaimed VS Team Triple J!

Just as Freshly Squeezed, Daddy Ass, Max Caster & Anthony Bowens thought they were done with Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt & Satnam Singh, that awful quartet had to go and attack Cassidy on Rampage! Sonjay still rubs in how he stole Paul Walter Hauser’s Golden Globe, but will he lose that and this match? Or will Team Triple J’s egos be even bigger in Texas?

But of course, Platinum Max has a diss track on deck! “Yo, Jeff! I heard the news, man, that’s too bad. Your dad was a legend, but you just a douchebag! Coming in hot like a asteroid, you will never beat me like the Ass Boys. How was Valentine’s at your compound? Getting no play, it’s TNA Lockdown. There’s no point in fighting back, when we’re done with y’all, we’re gonna get the titles back.” Bowens takes the mic to say, “LAAAREDOOOO~! The Acclaimed have arrived! SCISSOR ME, DADDY ASS~!” And he does! Fans fire up as the teams sort out, and Sonjay starts against Bowens, but then Lethal says he wants in?

Sonjay tags Lethal, he and Bowens circle, then tie up. Lethal wrenches and hammerlocks Bowens to then slap him around, but Bowens switches things around to headlock. Rush y Vance go back for Moxley and they mug him with haymakers and CHOPS! They RAM him into steel steps, stomp him down and dig their boots in, and Moxley is busted open! Vance swipes some of that blood and wipes it on his own chest. Moxley sits up in a daze, Rush puts him in the ring, and LFI stalk behind him. Rush clamps on a chinlock stretch, and Vance talks trash while he suffers. Vance writes “L F I” with Moxley’s blood, and then Rush stands on Moxley. LFI throw up the fists, then they bring Moxley up. Moxley throws forearms and CHOPS on them both! But Rush ROCKS Moxley right back!

Jim Ross has a sit-down interview with Wardlow.

Good ol’ JR doesn’t recall “seeing anything more shocking the night you lost the TNT Championship to Samoa Joe. When you and Joe were tag team partners, I’m sure you had many private conversations. Sometimes in hindsight, you may look back and say, ‘I shouldn’t have said that.’ So in any event, here we are. What’s next for you?” Wardlow says he and Joe “did share some personal stories with our time together. The part of the story with my father I want to share here today is, from the time I can remember to the time I was eight years old, that man instilled every ounce of athleticism and drive that I have in me today.

“Unfortunately, from the time I was eight until the time I was a young adult, he was not in my life. But as a young adult, he reentered my life, and we were able to start to have some sort of a father-son relationship. As soon as that happened, I got a call from him that he had Stage 4 cancer, and didn’t have a lot of time left. Unfortunately, the next time I would see him would be as he laid in a hospital bed on hospice. I’d just started my wrestling journey, and he did make it to my first indie show. So he was able to see me wrestle, and he was so proud of me.

“And that’s all I could think of to tell him to give him any peace, was, ‘I promise you, I will be a better man, I will do right, and I’m gonna make it.’ And that was the last thing I ever said to him. I got a phone call the next morning saying he had passed. After he passed, I had never grown my beard, never grown my hair, but after seeing cancer take that all from him, I decided for the first time, I’m gonna grow my beard out, I’m gonna grow my hair out. And that’s the look that we’ve come to learn and know of Wardlow over the past few years. And Joe knew that. And Joe took that from me, my connection with my father.”

Wardlow tells Joe, “You took that from me. Now look me in the eyes, because this is the last thing you’re ever gonna see as the man you are today. Even though you’ve survived every company, every monster this business has to offer, Joe, you will not survive me!” Joe fired the first shot, will he not survive the war dog that is coming for him?

Renee Young has a sit-down interview with Adam Cole.

Renee says it is so good to see him. We’re all glad to see he’s back, to hear from him, and to see him step inside the ring again. How has he been? He’s been great, seriously. He can’t be happier to be back on the road with AEW, “there’s a little part of me that’s a little discouraged. Because obviously, I’m so close to looking at that ring and imagining getting back in there. But I’ve learned through this entire process to celebrate mini-victories, if you will.

“For example, the fact that after a few months, my right eye is able to look in the right direction and it doesn’t twitch up and down, that’s a victory. The fact that I can go throughout the day and not feel like I have to pull over or throw up because I feel nauseous, that’s a victory. And so is being back and this close to returning in the ring. So to answer your question, I am very, very happy.” Renee says that sounds like a new lease on life. So when he is able to finally get back in action, what does the next chapter look like for Adam Cole?

Cole says that’s interesting for her to say it, “Next chapter.” It feels like there are so many chapters to his story, he hasn’t really had the chance to explore things yet. But he’s sure that very, very soon, he’ll get the chance to do that. So in regards to what Cole does in AEW, he looks at the roster right now, and it has never been better. “From top to bottom, this roster is absolutely stacked. So I know, when I do come back, I need to be as prepared as humanly possible. And looking at this roster, I have a couple of ideas of who I’d love to step into the ring with.” Renee wants a sneak-peek at those ideas, but he says no, he’ll leave that just to him, and for the roster to think about.

But all Cole will say, “it’s gonna be good for All Elite Wrestling, and it’s gonna be good for Adam Cole.” Renee is so happy to see him healthy, and hopes to do more of this together finally. He hopes so, too! Cole has a little more to go on his road to recovery, but who will get the honor of “welcoming” Cole back to action?

MJF is here.

Fans are torn, but this is the “contractually obligated appearance” of the AEW World Champion, Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Dynamite is picture in picture as MJF swaggers his way down the ramp, amused as he sees giving him thumbs down and booing. MJF walks up to a young lady in the front row, she gives MJF a kiss on the cheek and then MJF flips off the guy sitting with her. MJF continues to ringside, teases that he’s gonna take pictures with fans, but leaves them all hanging. MJF seems to insult fans taunting him in the front row, and even splashes one guy with his own drink! MJF walks away and does a strut as he stands up on a chair.

MJF sees the signs, “Texas hates MJF” and “MJF thinks Laredo is in the RGV,” but he just shrugs that off. MJF also slaps one fan’s drink of out their hand as Dynamite goes to break!

Dynamite returns and MJF is finally in the ring, mic in hand. Fans boo and call him names, but MJF says, “No hablo Espanol. My apologies. Bryan Danielson, these people love you, man, and you have no idea how much that pisses me off. Cuz at one point in time, these people, they used to love me, man. At one point in time not too long ago, these shmucks used to be Devil worshippers. But I know these people, Bryan. These people are disgusting, fickle little monsters. So I turned my back on them before they had the opportunity to turn their backs on me, just like everybody else. But at least I’m honest about who I am, Bryan. I’m the devil, man!”

Fans tell MJF to STFU, but MJF ignores that. He says Bryan is not so honest about who he really is. “See, these people don’t love you. They love the man you portray when you walk through that curtain. Because in real-life, you’re just like all of them: a worthless sack of trash!” Fans boo but MJF says that in real-life, Bryan has taken he has been given for granted, but MJF is not here to talk about how much of a horrible human being Bryan is, though that’s not the only reason why MJF hates him. “I hate you because you have these people convinced that you’re better than me?!” Fans cheer “YES! YES! YES!” because that’s true!

MJF says that’s the farthest thing from the truth! “And let me guess, you people think Bryan Danielson’s the best in the world, don’t you?” “YES!” MJF asks, “Why’s that? In your super professional opinion, why is that? Is it because he entertains you the best? Yeah? Is it because he does the coolest maneuvers and holds? Is it because he puts on five-star bangers? Little secret, guys: that’s not why we get into this business. We get in this business for one reason only, and it is to become world champion. And last time I checked, the only way you know you’re the best in the world, is if you’re the man that’s holding the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

“And whether you guys realize it or not, that is something Bryan Danielson has NEVER been able to accomplish. Now Bryan, I’m not an idiot. On March 5th at Revolution, for one hour, I know you’re gonna give me everything you’ve got. You’re gonna put on the performance of a lifetime for these people. You are going to use every trick out of your sleeve that you picked up in Japan, in Mexico, in the UK, in Canada. And you are going to put me through the hardest match of my life. But know this: after those 60 minutes are up, after that clock strikes zero, I WILL BE VICTORIOUS!” Fans boo as they don’t believe that.

MJF says Bryan isn’t the best wrestler int he world, MJF is! And at Revolution, MJF proves it! Bryan doesn’t have the balls to do what it takes to win! That’s because he is Maxwell Jacob Friedman, and this ain’t a sing-along! SHUT YOUR MOUTHS! He’s better than you and you know it! But if you don’t wanna take MJF’s words for it, take it from a man who has known Bryan his entire career. Maybe people will listen to the man Bryan looks to as a mentor. “Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce to you, the Fallen Angel, Christopher Daniels!” Christopher Daniels makes his way out, but what is he doing working with MJF?

Daniels goes to the ring to join MJF and MJF tells him, “Do me a favor and tell these people the truth about Bryan Danielson inside the squared circle.” Daniels gets the mic and says, “The truth? Okay, okay, the truth. Full disclosure, Laredo, MJF paid me an obscene amount of money tonight to denigrate Bryan Danielson on national television. And Max, there was a time in my life where I would’ve happily taken this money and come out here to bury Bryan Danielson with you for hours. But that’s not the man I am today, Max, and if you want the truth, the truth is… Bryan Danielson is set to knock your dick in the dirt.”

Daniels throws the money back at MJF! Fans fire up and MJF is seething. Daniels tells MJF that he remembers that first time with Bryan in the ring. A 20-year-old Bryan Danielson hit Daniels so hard, he thought he was gonna die in that ring. And that was when Daniels knew that Bryan was going to be great! Daniels watched Bryan win the King of the Indies tournament in 2001, and that tournament directly inspired the creation of ROH as a promotion. And ROH brought REAL pro-wrestling to a fanbase that was starved for it. The same type of fans that were ecstatic when AEW opened four years ago.

Daniels says that if there wasn’t an ROH, there might not be an AEW, and there definitely wouldn’t be an MJF. MJF is getting more upset but Daniels tells him that he’s shared locker rooms with Bryan all over the world. Daniels has seen Bryan wrestler as many matches as he could handle, and Bryan was a sponge about pro-wrestling. Bryan wanted to learn everything he could, one new thing every match, and Daniels saw him do it over and over and over until he became a world champion. “Max, he knows what it takes to be a world champion. He’s on the path to becoming world champion one more time. And that’s why these people love him, and that’s why you hate him, Max.”

And not just because Bryan is going to take the one thing MJF loves more than anything else. It’s because Bryan IS what MJF wishes he could be. Bryan is the best wrestler in the world today. Not MJF! MJF is just a fraud! And Bryan will outwrestle and expose- MJF SLAPS the mic away, then he shoves Daniels! MJF says HE is the champion, that makes HIM the best! Daniels says he’s not. He’s an SOB! MJF says okay, Daniels turns to leave, but MJF turns him around! “You don’t walk away from me!” Daniels SLAPS MJF! Fans fire up and MJF cools off. To then LOW BLOW Daniels! And then clamp on the SALT OF THE EARTH FUJIWARA!!

MJF makes Daniels suffer but here comes BRYAN! Bryan runs MJF off and fans fire up again! The Fallen Angel has given the American Dragon his ringing endorsement, will the Devil of AEW suffer for all his sins?

The Gunns speak.

Austin rattles off criticisms, “The Gunns are boring, the Gunns are too green, the Gunns are just Ass Boys. The Gunns can’t go toe-to-toe with your favorite wrestlers. The Gunns can’t take down The Acclaimed, the Gunns will never win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.” Colten says that he and his brother have only been wrestling together for one year, with only ten televised matches, but sorry they “didn’t have to go to the indies and work for ten bucks and a handshake. And if you didn’t like the ending to last week, well, I have a little spoiler for you: This is real-life. Not every story has a happy ending. This isn’t your fairytale. And at Revolution, welcome to the Gunn Show.”

Cage blocks a kick and JB falls over! Cage deadlifts JB again, but JB sunset flips! Cage stays up and drags JB up for an OVERHEAD suplex! Cage soaks up the heat, does a strut and then flexes again. JB sits up, Cage stalks him to ropes, and CHOKES him on the ropes! The ref counts, Cage lets off, and Nana SLAPS JB! The ref almost caught Nana but Nana backs away. Cage drags JB up, but JB throws body shots.

Dynamite returns to single picture as JB backs Cage down, but Cage knees low. Cage whips, pops JB up, but JB fights the bomb! JB throws elbows and haymakers, runs, but into a BOOT! Cover, ONE?!? Cage roars, “C’mon, Jungle Boy!” So JB SUPERKICKS him!

Cage stays up, spins, but JB gest around! CRUCIFIX DRIVER! And then a SUPERKICK! And then the BLINDSIDE LARIAT! Oklahoma Roll, JB WINS!!

Winner: “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, by pinfall

JB is 2-0 against the Machine, and he is rolling in 2023! Will the Tarzan Life soon be golden? Wait, it can’t be…! CHRISTIAN CAGE IS BACK!? Captain Charisma walks out on stage, arm still in a sling but a big smirk on his face. JB storms up the ramp at his enemy, but into MACE!! Christian sprays JB with mace right in the face!! Fans boo and chant, “YOU SUCK!” but Christian just chuckles. And then he takes his arm out of the sling! His arm’s all better! And he uses that arm to drag JB up and wrap on a SLEEPER! “I am not done with you! You understand me? You understand me?! I am NOT done with you!” And then KILLSWITCH to the stage!!

Fans boo harder but Captain Charisma kicks dirt at JB before leaving. Will Jack Perry’s journey for gold have to take a detour through revenge?

Renee Young has big news!

It is official! The Gunns will have their first defense of the AEW World Tag Team Championships at AEW Revolution in a Triple Treat Tag! To determine those two other teams, there will be the traditional Revolution Tag Team Battle Royal. Then in two weeks, there will be the Casino Tag Battle Royal. The winners of both battle royal matches will then move on to Revolution. Renee is interrupted as Billy & The Acclaimed walk in. As much as Billy likes hearing Renee talk, The Acclaimed have something to say. Caster says, “Yeah, listen.”

Bowens says, “Big win tonight, but there’s a bigger issue at play, and that is that The Acclaimed were screwed out of the AEW Tag Team titles last week.” Caster adds, “That’s right.” “The Ass Boys had to cheat to beat us.” “That’s right!” “But the Acclaimed, we do not back down from a fight, which is why we’re here to announce that it is no longer a three-way, it’s gonna be a four way. Because we are invoking our rematch clause at Revolution!” “That’s right!”

“One team, two teams, three teams, fly ’em in from the Forbidden Door, it does not matter! You put them in front of The Acclaimed, and we will knock them right on their asses! And we’re gonna take home what is rightfully ours! BECAUSE EVERYONE! LOVES! THE ACCLAIMED!” “That’s right. Uncrowned champs, soon to be two-time champs, and that’s a mic drop.” The Acclaimed are upping the ante on the Ass Boys, but will this gamble only come back to bite them?

The Elite speak.

Well, actually, they marvel at Nick Jackson palming a basketball. But then Brandon Cutler lets them know they’re live, so Nick says this weekend, it’s the NBA All-Star Weekend, and it’s huge. Don Callis says the biggest all-stars are The Elite! Who does everyone have? Team Giannis or Team LeBron? That’s a hard choice, it’ll be super close. “Speaking of close…” AR Fox & Top Flight walk in, and Fox says he almost had Omega last week. And Top Flight did pin The Young Bucks before. So they’re thinking, for Friday, Rampage Slam Dunk, they run it back. Callis cuts Omega off and says that Fox & Flight lost, so sorry, but back of the line. The Elite’s got stuff to do. Like watch the big game!

Oh, okay, so they just like to play with balls but don’t have any of their own. OHH~! Shut up, Brandon! But Omega says fine, they wanna slander The Elite? Omega’s getting a little pissed off. He tells Callis they have this. If Fox & Flight wanna have some fun on Rampage, then they’ve got it! The Bucks agree to it, and then Matt surprises Cutler with the pass. Oh, right in the nards. But will Fox & Flight tie up the series 1-1? Or will Omega & The Bucks be looking like the champions they are and put it away in two?

Hangman Page VS Kip Sabian w/ Penelope Ford!

The Cowboy was busy watching Moxley and Mr. Superbad used that to jump him in the back! The Butcher & The Blade helped him do a number on Hangman, but Hangman is more pissed than hurt! Will Sabian be on the receiving end of some Buckshot here tonight?

The bell rings and Kip tips his hat to Hangman, only for Hangman to DECK him! Fans fire up, Kip goes to a corner, and Hangman throws his vest at him. Hangman runs in, but into a BOOT! Kip reels Hangman in, fisherman to OSAKA STREET CUTTER! Kip laughs, calls his shot, and CANNONBALLS Hangman in the corner! Fans boo but Kip mocks the Cowboy with some rodeo. But Hangman BOOTS Kip down! Kip flounders, Hangman storms back up and CHOPS! Fans fire up as Hangman CHOPS, whips, but Kip reverses to ROCK Hangman! Kip runs to springboard, but Hangman catches him! FALL AWAY SLAM!

Hangman kips up and fans fire up while Kip bails out to the apron. Hangman just triangle jumps but Kip runs away! Fans boo but Hangman PLANCHAS! Kip slides in, Kip fakes Hangman out, and grins while Penelope distracts Hangman. Kip baseball slide dropkicks Hangman down! Fans boo, Kip goes back to the apron, PENALTY KICK! Kip then ARABIAN PRESSES Hangman down! Fans boo but Kip pretends to put his six shooters away while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Kip drags Hangman up, puts him back in, and he stomps Hangman around. Kip drags Hangman up, HEADBUTTS him, and Hangman goes to a corner. Kip storms up but into a CHOP! Kip fires off forearms but lets off as the ref counts. Kip argues with the ref, to distract him from seeing Penelope CHOKE Hangman! The Superbad Girl slips away and Kip snapmares to a cover, ONE!! Kip sits Hangman up and into a modified KOJI KLUTCH! Hangman endures, fans rally, and Hangman pushes his way around to the ROPEBREAK! Kip thrashes, lets off, and looms over Hangman. Kip soaks up the heat while Hangman sits up.

Kip goes back to Hangman but Hangman ROCKS him! And again! Kip hits back but Hangman fires off a flurry! Hangman runs, into a victory roll DOUBLE STOMP! Cover, TWO! Kip is annoyed but he drags Hangman up. Kip throws a haymaker, then goes to the corner. Kip climbs up, but Hangman ROCKS him first! Hangman climbs up after Kip, Dynamite returns to single picture, and Kip fires body shots. Kip HEADBUTTS Hangman away, adjusts, and DIVING- NO, Hangman dodges the double stomps, to then clothesline Kip and himself out of the ring! Hangman lands on his feet! Then he drags Kip up to whip him hard into barriers!

Hangman whips Kip back the other way, into more barriers! Hangman brings Kip back around, but Penelope stands in Hangman’s way! So Hangman just whips Kip back into the barriers behind them! Fans fire up and Hangman catches his breath. Hangman drags Kip up, puts him in the ring, and Kip staggers around. Hangman POP-UP POWERBOMBS Kip! Cover, TWO! Kip survives and Penelope is relieved but Hangman keeps his focus. Hangman slashes his throat and fans fire up. Hangman drags Kip up, Alabama Lifts, but Kip kicks free! Kip torture racks, for a BURNING- NO, Hangman lands on his feet, spins Kip around and LARIATS!

Hangman Alabama Lifts, DEADEYE!! Cover, Hangman wins!

Winner: Hangman Page, by pinfall

The Cowboy shoots down Mr. Superbad, but he still seems a little rattled by that ambush backstage. But here comes the Blackpool Combat Club! Moxley leads the way for Claudio and Yuta as they walk back to ringside. Moxley gets a mic and slides into the ring with Hangman while Yuta and Claudio step in. Moxley says, “Cowboy, I know you think we got unfinished business, but we don’t. A couple o’ weeks ago, your ass got pinned. And after all our battles together, I have some respect for you. But I have zero fear for you. I know you inside and out, I know what you’re gonna do before you know what you’re gonna do. I’ve got your number.

“And there is absolutely no chance in hell, I want you to believe me, there is no chance that you will ever, ever beat me again. So let it go.” Hangman takes the mic from Moxley! Hangman says, “Look, I’m not happy with our last match’s result, and I don’t think you are either. Because after all this, the two who stood above the rest, it ends in the old ball ‘n’ chain roll-up? That’s it? That’s how this ends? I don’t think that’s how this ends between you and I. I think it ends… when two men go back in that cold, dark alley, and only one gets to come out. I think this ends when there’s only one of us left standing. I think this ends… at Revolution!”

Fans like the sound of that, and Moxley gets the mic back. “I was kinda hoping you would say that. I was kinda hoping you would wanna go down this dark, dark alley with me. And I kinda hoped that you wouldn’t have anybody that cared about you, any friends that would talk you out of it and talk you into making a smart decision. The Emo Cowboy, though, he ain’t got no friends.” But then The Dark Order makes their way out! Evil Uno has a mic, and he says, “Did I hear you correctly? Jon Moxley, maybe you’ve been at the top of the mountain for too long, but did you say that he has no friends?”

Uno isn’t sure where Moxley’s been the last two years, but the Dark Order’s had Hangman’s back through and through! But Hangman is actually upset that they’re out here? He tells them that he already told them to stay out of this, but Uno tells Hangman to get out of his face. Uno says the only reason he hasn’t done this is because Hangman requested that they didn’t. “But I’ve heard you talk, and I’ve heard you talk, and I had to come and say it to your face. Dark Order ain’t afraid of you. Evil Uno is not afraid of Jon Moxley.” Then he pie faces Moxley! Fans fire up as the BCC and Dark Order get face to face but Hangman tries to get between them.

Hangman argues with Uno but fans want to see this happen! Uno and Moxley stare down, and Moxley tells Hangman, “Cowboy, Revolution, TEXAS DEATH!!” Revolution is going to the Golden State, but the Maniac wants to go Lonestar style with Hangman! Who will survive this final showdown?

Backstage interview with The Jericho Appreciation Society.

Tony Schiavone is with Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, Matthew Menard & Angelo Parker, and notes that the problem between Hangman and Moxley has escalated. Jericho starts by saying, “You wanna talk about problems? Ricky Starks, you seem to have a problem with Chris Jericho. You keep demanding another match with The Ocho, not gonna happen. You got lucky, I can beat you any time, any place, anywhere, but y’know what, Tony? I’m not gonna do it. Because you are not at my level. No matches!” Garcia tells Starks that he’s not having a match with Jericho, but this Friday, he has a match with Garcia.

“And Ricky, I’m just so sick of hearing you complain all the time, talking about how it’s your time. It’s not, it’s the Jericho Appreciation Society’s time. But you are right about one thing, Ricky. You are absolute.” “-ly annoying!” Parker adds. And Menard adds, “Absolutely the losing one!” Hager adds, “Absolutely, I like this hat!” Garcia gets things back on track by telling Ricky to listen to him. “Last Wednesday, I beat you. This Friday, I’m not just gonna beat you, I’m gonna expose to everybody that believes in you, that you are nothing more than an absolute fraud.” The JAS has all said their piece, will the Dragonslayer beat down Ricky Starks?

BREAKING NEWS for Rampage Slam Dunk!

On top of Garcia VS Starks going 1v1, and on top of Dustin Rhodes getting a grudge match with Swerve Strickland, it is official! AR Fox & Top Flight get their AEW World Trios Championship rematch! Will The Elite end up in a trap game and lose the gold before Revolution? And on top of that, the AEW TBS Championship is on the line as Jade Cargill’s Open Challenge has been answered by Vertvixen! Will the undefeated streak end at 51? Or will Vert pull off the upset of the century?

Backstage interview with The Firm.

AEW returns as Tony Schiavone is now with Stokely Hathaway, Isiah Kassidy, Ethan Page & Matt Hardy. Stokely is dressed in all black with shades and a beret, but Tony asks why. Stokely says it’s because he wants justice! What we saw last week was Hook breaking Stokely’s arm! “How come that piece of garbage gets to walk around here and do whatever he wants to do?” Stokely wants Hook suspended, and even FIRED! Does Tony know how Stokely spent his weekend? In conference calls with Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and Angela Davis. So hopefully, by the end of tonight, AEW management has good news for Stokely.

“LOOK AT ME, TONY!” Stokely holds up his arm in its cast. “I’MA FREAK OF NATURE!” Ethan says Stokely deserves justice, and he’s waiting on that verdict with him, but where was Stokely last week? Hardy threw a huge bash for The Firm! They had a party without Stokely? Were there ladies there? Yes! Isiah confirms, and then he moans. Stokely gets mad! “What’d I tell you about that?!” Tony hears from management that Hook has been suspended, pending an investigation. HAH! Ethan and Stokely high-five, but that’s with the bad hand! Stokely and Ethan want Tony to show some sympathy, but will Hook have none of that when he gets reinstated?

Triple Threat: Ruby Soho VS Toni Storm w/ Saraya VS Britt Baker w/ Jamie Hayter!

This match was meant to happen weeks ago, but now it happens at a critical moment in the war within the AEW Women’s Division! The Runaway finds herself torn between the friends from her past, and the rivals she’s made in her new home. Which side will Ruby choose? Which side will win out in the end?

Speaking of sides, a fan’s Britt Baker DMD sign gets on Saraya’s bad side. Storm takes the sign to rip it up, but then Saraya drags the fan over the railing! Saraya and Storm mug the fan, and have the spray paint ready! But Ruby makes her entrance and that gets Storm & Saraya to let off. Ruby checks on the fan and she’s okay, but now here comes The Doctor, accompanied by the AEW Women’s World Champion. The bell rings and Britt fires off on Storm! Storm shoves her back, Britt dodges the haymaker and waistlocks. Britt spins Storm but Storm dodges the clothesline, and Ruby ROCKS Britt!

Storm chicken wings Britt and tells Ruby to go after her! Ruby instead shoots around to roll Storm up! TWO, Britt SUPERKICKS Storm! Britt tells Ruby to help her, but Ruby rolls Britt! TWO! Britt kicks low, throws forearms, and whips. Ruby ducks ‘n’ whips but Britt hits a NECKBREAKER DROP! Cover, TWO! Fans rally and duel, Britt runs but Storm trips her and drags her out! Storm DECKS Britt, hurries into the ring, and she says Ruby has to choose the right side. Ruby headlocks but Storm powers out. Ruby runs Storm over and fans fire up! Things speed up, Ruby sidesteps but Storm arm-drags!

Storm kicks but Ruby blocks to kick, but Storm blocks! Storm throws the foot down, dodges Ruby’s haymaker, and HIP ATTACKS Britt off the apron! But Ruby reels Storm in for a SAIDO! Storm bails out, Saraya is there, and Hayter checks on Britt. Ruby dares someone to get in and fans fire up behind her. Storm slips in but then scurries away, and Britt runs in. Britt ripcords and ROLLING ELBOWS! Ruby falls and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Britt spells it out, but Storm throws her down by her hair! Storm snarls and spells it out, “Lo-who-sers!” Storm then BOOTS Britt down! Britt is in a corner, Storm digs her knee in, but lets off to talk trash to Hayter. Storm then snap suplexes Britt, covers, TWO! Storm is annoyed but Britt is tougher than that. Storm stomps Britt, drags her up and CHOPS her! Britt goes to ropes, Storm stalks up behind her and fires forearms! Storm trips Britt, has the legs, but Britt kicks her away. Ruby SOBATS, front kicks and ENZIGURIS! Britt fires forearms on Ruby, whips her to a corner, but Ruby goes up and catches Britt for DEADLY NIGHTSHADE!

Storm YANKS Ruby right off Britt to stomp her down! Storm sits Ruby up to CHOP! Ruby eggs her on! Fans fire up and Storm BOOTS Ruby down! But Ruby gets up to egg her on! Storm SLAPS Ruby, BOOTS her down, then drags her back up. Fans rally but Storm HEADBUTTS Ruby! Ruby staggers to ropes, but Storm is on her with uppercuts! Storm then runs to BOOT Britt in the corner! Storm digs her boot in, lets off on Britt and storms up to Ruby. Ruby kicks Storm, but Storm CHOPS Ruby! Dynamite returns to single picture as Saraya cheers Storm on. Storm CLUBS Ruby, whips her in at Britt, but Britt hits a BUCKLE SHOT!

Storm runs in but Britt dodges and runs to CLOBBER her! Fans fire up as Britt rallies and whips. Storm reverses but Britt SLINGBLADES! Britt stands Storm up, underhooks, but Storm stomps a foot! Ruby runs in, is sent at Storm, Britt hits a NECKBREAKER on Storm that makes her DDT Ruby! Cover on Storm, TWO! Saraya is relieved but Britt spells it out, “D! M! D!” Britt runs but Saraya anchors her! Storm then GERMAN SUPLEXES Britt down! Ruby KNEES Storm! Britt SUPERKICKS Ruby! Storm SHOTGUNS Britt! Britt is in a corner, Storm says kiss this! But Ruby runs in to catch Storm, STO!

Britt runs in, spins Ruby around, BUTTERFLY SLAM! Cover, Storm SUPERKICKS it apart! All three women are down and fans fire up! Hayter coaches Britt, Saraya coaches Storm, but fans duel between Britt and Ruby! Britt flounders to ropes, Ruby crawls to a corner, and Storm stands up first. Storm runs in at ruby but into an elbow! Ruby goes up, but Storm blocks Deadly Nightshade to a waistlock! Britt runs in, she rolls up Storm and causes her to GERMAN SUPLEX Ruby away! Cover on Storm, TWO!! Storm escapes and Britt is frustrated. Britt brings Storm up, ROCKS her, but Storm ROCKS Britt!

The forearms go back and forth, and Britt grins! But Storm gets the edge! Storm swings, into a ripcord ROLLING ELBOW! FISHERMAN SCREW! Cover, TWO!!! Storm survives and Britt can’t believe it! Britt runs in at Ruby, into an STO! Ruby goes up top and fans fire up, SUPER SENT- HAYMAKER! Storm takes Ruby out of the air, and then ties up the legs, TEXAS CLOVERLEAF!! Ruby endures as Storm sits deep! But Britt clamps on the RINGS OF SATURN! Ruby endures but then Saraya jumps in to BOOT Britt!! Saraya stomps away on Britt while the ref reprimands, and then Storm hits a TORNADO DDT on Hayter, to the floor!

Saraya stands Britt up, LIGHTNING SPIRAL! And then she gets the spray paint! Storm goes to the corner and sticks her hips out so that Saraya can spray paint a big L on it! Britt TAKES THE L!! Storm drags Britt up, reels her in, but Ruby THROWS Storm out onto Saraya! Roll up on Britt, Ruby wins!!

Winner: Ruby Soho, by pinfall

Ruby chose a side: HERS! And she wins out all on her own! But then Saraya gets in to SLAP Ruby! Saraya says Ruby ruined it! Ruby should be on THEIR side! Hayter gets in the ring to say no, Ruby should be on THEIR side! But Ruby shouts at them, “ENOUGH!!” Ruby just looks at the title instead. Hayter says okay, she’s up for that. The battlelines have been drawn, and the destination IS known, because it is the AEW Women’s World Championship. Will the Runaway win her way to a title fight at Revolution?

My Thoughts:

Great stuff for AEW, though I think they’re getting a bit talky again. MJF is a great talker, but his promo segments always take time to build. I do like that he brought out Christopher Daniels, and that Daniels literally threw MJF’s bribe in his face. Naturally, MJF beats up Daniels to get Heel heat, and Bryan shows up to scare MJF off and get some Face momentum. The Ironman match will still be awesome, but there has to be something “cheap and dastardly” that MJF does to win. He could easily give Bryan a point or two with blatant cheating, but it’ll be something that hurts Bryan enough that MJF gets easy points to balance it out.

Good promo from the JAS where it was clear the JAS was struggling to be the sports entertainer trash talkers in this feud. Garcia VS Starks 1v1 is going to be great stuff on Rampage, but I would think Starks wins there and goads Jericho into their rematch for Revolution. Great little bit with The Elite and Fox & Flight. I didn’t think we’d get a rematch there, but it does help keep The Elite fresh before Revolution. No idea who faces The Elite for Revolution, maybe there will be a big surprise like a NJPW or AAA team to give us a simply amazing and exciting match. Either way, I think The Elite retain through Revolution.

Great and hilarious 8 Man Tag, and while of course Austin & Colten do their best to distract Billy & The Acclaimed, I like that it didn’t cost the Face team anything. They win, we’re getting a huge AEW World Tag Team Championship match, and while The Acclaimed is great, I feel like it’d be too easy for them to get these belts back in that situation. This could be the opportunity to get another team into the tag title story and really shake things up. Honestly, I wonder if FTR is going to use this opportunity to return and get revenge on The Ass Boys while also getting the AEW titles back.

Really good full interview from Adam Cole, though it didn’t really add much from the preview last Friday. He’s still making good recovery progress, he still hasn’t said who he’s facing for the implied return match at Revolution, but it’ll still be great to see him get back in action. Wardlow’s interview promo was also really good. We got to learn a bit about his past, and why his top knot was so important to him. Wardlow VS Samoa Joe is going to be great stuff, and we can only hope this time, AEW handles Wardlow as TNT Champion better than the first time. Fans were really fired up for Wardlow before the WARJOE stuff, they can get fired up for him again now.

Awesome Texas Tornado Tag from BCC and LFI, of course Moxley bleeds but Vance also bleeding fit the story within this story of Vance’s previous battles with Moxley. I also hope they do something more with Rush and Claudio in regards to the ROH World title as ROH weekly TV is on its way back and their next PPV is March 31st (right before WrestleMania Weekend). And great tying Hangman into things, he gets jumped by Kip but then beats Kip in the match to get even. Hangman and Moxley had a really good promo to set up a Texas Deathmatch for Revolution, which is basically the Unsanctioned match idea I had but it’ll count. Dark Order stepping up despite Hangman not wanting them was an interesting detail, Dark Order VS BCC could make for some interesting stuff, too.

Really good stuff from Jungle Boy VS Brian Cage, and JB gets a great win. Christian Cage returning was quite the surprise, but we’re finally getting an end to that story since it was paused by Christian’s real injury. That match can happen at Revolution, and JB can win to then finally get at a singles title. Also, hilarious promo from The Firm where Stokely is most certainly playing up what happened to his arm just to get back at Hook since no on in The Firm can beat him. I would think we end up seeing Hook defending the FTW Championship against someone in The Firm. Maybe Matt Hardy, since The Firm likes making him do the grunt work. Plus, Hardy can test Hook in his match storytelling ability, something Hook still needs to really show us.

Great match from Mark Briscoe against Josh Woods, but what a surprise to see The Lucha Brothers go after Daivari & Nese. Also, why is Daivari hanging out with Nese & Woods more than his own faction, The Trustbusters? Either way, Lucha Bros will definitely rebuild their Tag Division rankings using Nese & Daivari, or even Nese & Woods, and could even get in on Revolution’s tag title Fatal 4 Way. Briscoe gets a great win off Woods, and he will definitely help lead ROH’s return to TV. But the obvious issue is: how to handle the ROH World Tag titles? That itself could be a major story going on as ROH TV gets going again and they build to Supercard of Honor.

And great stuff from the main event. The women main eventing was a nice move from AEW, though I am a little perplexed as to why Ruby didn’t have Willow Nightingale when Britt had Hayter and Storm had Saraya. At the same time, Ruby got a great win doing it all on her own, and while she’s still stuck in the middle of AEW OG VS “The Outsiders,” Ruby wanting the title is a nice detail, too. Revolution could also end up a Triple Threat where Hayter and Ruby have to worry about Saraya or Storm. But I’m still hoping for that Women’s Blood & Guts match, it just feels right for this AEW Women’s Division Civil War story they’re giving us.

My Score: 8.9/10

The Death Riders speak.

It was after AEW Dynamite on Wednesday that Jon Moxley said, “Every time I step into the ring with Kyle O’Reilly, I can’t find a way to win. It’s been failure after failure after failure. Kyle O’Reilly has tapped me out, twice. Ipso facto, Kyle O’Reilly will be the new Continental Champion. You might think. But the Jon Moxley of six months ago is not the same as Jon Moxley of today. Who I will be tomorrow is better than who I am today. Logic and strategy would dictate that I should stay as far away from Kyle O’Reilly as I can. Because there’s no doubt about it, Kyle, you have my number.

The thing about this Continental Championship, it’s good bait. All the dragons I wanna slay come right to my door. I will do what I’ve done for 22 years surviving in this business, Kyle: I’m gonna find a way.” The Maniac heads out, and Claudio Castagnoli steps forward to tell Brody King that Brody always brings the bark. But if he steps in the ring with Claudio in the Owen Hart Tournament, he better bring the bite. Pac then says, “Nobody gets special treatment. It doesn’t matter who you are, Death Riders against the world.” Daniel Garcia says yeah, let’s get it! Yuta repeats, “Against the world.” Marina Shafir tells the world, “Bring it, you p*ssies!”

Will Ospreay speaks.

It was also after Dynamite that The Aerial Assassin told Samoa Joe, “My apologies for not getting back to any of your messages, been a little bit busy training and getting myself ready for The Owen. Surprised to see you there in the opening round, mate. It’s gonna be a tough one. But if you can just bear with me for a hot second while I explain to you… Six months of my life got taken away from me, mate. Six months, I’ve been sitting in front of a TV screen, watching AEW, looking at it, trying to get my strength back in my arms, rushing to get back. That’s six months of frustration, six months of anger. And then I finally had my kill shot on Dynasty, and I lost.

“And ever since then, man, I’ve been struggling with my matches. Doc even stopped one for my own safety. I’m annoyed that I didn’t get revenge on Jon. But I’m more upset at the idea that I can’t be the guy that AEW put their trust in once upon a time. Regardless of how I feel about Jon, regardless of how I feel about The Death Riders, there’s nothing that I can say that’ll make people ever understand. But Jon Moxley is the Ace, he’s a soldier for this place. And while his methods might be sick, there are people who stand up to see him get elevated. So what could it happen with him in my corner?

“Joe, I’ve got nothing but respect for ya. Everything that you’ve done in this industry. Mate, you were in the match that made me want to become a pro-wrestler. But no one, no one, is stopping me from winning The Owen. And I find it very poetic that the man takt took away my old life has given me a second chance of capturing the world championship.” The Billy Goat is ready to become something more, but will Samoa Joe make sure Ospreay goes Double or Nothing and loses?

The fans rally as Velvet brings Willow up. Willow shoves Velvet, Velvet counter punches! And counter punches! Velvet fires a flurry, but Willow slips around to waistlock. Backstage interview with Sammy Guevara.

Lexy Nair is with The Spanish God and brings up how he called out Darby Allin just last night at Supercard of Honor for the AEW World Championship. But just like last night, Sammy hushes “Chica” Lexy, and says, “Everybody’s Favorite Pillar is about to talk, so zip it and listen. Darby, I don’t need to call my shot against you because I looked through the history books, and history’s on my side. I’ve beaten you not once, not twice, not three times, I’ve beaten you four times. When I look at the history books, I’m a three-time TNT Champion while you, you’ve only held that belt twice.

“So I’m gonna beat you tonight like I’ve beaten you before. I’m gonna stamp my ticket to Double or Nothing, and MJF, I know you’re watching, you sociopath. I’m gonna beat you next week and I’m gonna shave you BALD! But don’t worry, I’ll give you a nice little fade. Because I am the best! I am the best wrestler, I am the best talker, I am the best this planet has! I’m the Spanish God, dammit! I’m number one, I’ve been here since day one, and there’s only one way this is gonna go: With me as the NEW AEW World Champion! Darby, your time is up, and my time is now. Because I am Numero Uno. That means ‘number one.'”

Sammy heads out, but is his big head only going to get in the way tonight?

Backstage interview with Darby Allin.

Collision returns and Lexy is now with said AEW World Champion. She brings up the five title defenses in 21 days, an AEW record! But tonight is number six against someone Darby’s known for a long time in Sammy Guevara. Darby says when he showed up today, he asked if anyone had seen MJF yet. Then he thought, “What a stupid question. Of course he’s not gonna be at Collision.” MJF is not a company man, he only cares about himself. And those same people asked back, why is Darby back? Why is Darby defending his title again? Double or Nothing is next Sunday, why is Darby risking losing this? Because Darby loves this!

And if there’s anyone in this company as crazy as Darby, it is Sammy Guevara. Darby loves it! Darby realizes this could all end tonight, and Speedball wants his match on Wednesday? Well, if Darby walks out here tonight, then on Dynamite, it’s Showtime! Darby thanks Lexy then heads back out. Will the Relentless Reign be an unstoppable one? Or is this one Collision Darby will not walk away from?

Bowens says if you’re asking what this change of attitude is about… This man, Samoa Joe, has been teaching Bowens all he needs to know: choices have consequences; and if you don’t like the way the table is set, you flip that table over and you choose violence! The fans cheer, and now Joe speaks on the mic. “Oh, Ospreaaaay~…! Do you understand what I do for my friends? But unfortunately, decisions have consequences, and you chose a different road, Will. So allow me to say this: I am truly beyond honored that you consider facing me a dream match.” The fans cheer that, but Joe says it’s just unfortunate that when he gets Ospreay in the ring, “it’ll be nothing but a nightmare.”

Joe & Bowens have made it clear that no matter who, no matter where, and no matter what, The Opps will not show mercy. Will nothing stop The Opps from taking it all here in AEW?

Backstage interview with #Brodido.

Lexy Nair is with Brody King & Bandido, and wants to talk the Owen Hart Tournament. Brody is set to face Claudio while Bandido is up against Swerve Strickland. Now, if they both win their matches, that pits them against teach other in the semifinals. But what they also needs to talk about is last night, Supercard of Honor, Bandido retained the title, only for Swerve to attack. Brody tells Swerve that he warned him about what would happen if Swerve messed with the people Brody cared about! Next time Brody sees Swerve, he’ll- Bandido stops Brody there, and says no, no, hermano. Bandido loves you, but this is Bandido’s battle, and Brody needs to respect that.

So Bandido tells Swerve that this is a battle Swerve will not win! Swerve may be the Most Dangerous, but Bandido is the Most Wanted! And after Double or Nothing when Bandido beats Swerve, Swerve won’t be a danger to anyone anymore! Both sides of Brodido have spoken, but will either of them knock down Swerve’s House? Or will Swerve’s thirst for power be satiated with the Owen Hart Cup?

Megan Bayne & Lena Kross established just how dominant they are in the first 5 Minute Challenge last week, yet it seems two more poor souls want to test their might. Will Allie & Kaia at least last longer than the previous team? Or will The Megasus & Aussie Amazon score the fatality?

The teams sort out, Megan starts against Allie, and the bell rings. We’re on the clock as Megan and Allie circle, then tie up. Megan powers Allie to the ropes, then CHOPS! Megan whips, Allie blocks the lariat to wrench and PELE! But then Megan just rebounds to SHOTGUN BOOT Allie down! Allie flounders, Megan puts her in the corner, and CLUBS away from all sides! Tag to Lena, she whips Allie back into the corner, then ROCKS her! And ELBOWS her! And fires more elbows! The fans cheer, Lena BLASTS Kaia, then scoops Allie for a SPIN-OUT SIDEWALK SLAM! Lena grins, she drags Allie up, and she tags Megan.

Kaia runs up but Megan scoops her! The Divine Dominion SANDWICH the two, then FALL AWAY SLAM them both! And they SPLASH in the corners! And then another SPLASH! They send their opponents into each other, then DOUBLE LEAPING LARIAT! The fans fire up as Lena & Megan focus on Allie, DIVINE INTERVENTION! Cover, Divine Dominion wins!

Winners: The Divine Dominion, by pinfall (denies Allie Katch & Kaia McKenna a title match)

It was only one minute and 50 seconds this time, they’re only getting stronger! Will no duo ever remove Megan & Lena from the mountaintop?

AEW hears from the four fighting for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Kris Statlander says, “At Double or Nothing, I face three women, one who I hate, one who I respect, and one who I’m still not sure about.” The hated one, Thekla, says there’s only one way this ends when she’s up against dumb b*tch after dumb b*tch after dumb b*tch. The respected one, Jamie Hayter, says she had the title stripped away from her and it’s eluded her ever since. And the uncertainty, Hikaru Shida, says even though it is every one for themselves, she knows she and Kris will be on the same page, just like always! Kris says y’know who really has her back? Kris herself! That’s all she needs! Jamie warns Thekla that she’s gonna find out, unfinished business is her favorite kind!

Thekla says Double or Nothing, the Toxic Spider destroys New York! A Fatal 4 Way of epic proportions await, will there be nothing left after the dust clears?

Backstage interview with Athena and Mina Shirakawa.

Lexy Nair is with the ROH Women’s World Champion and the Fighting Gravure Idol, and thanks them for accepting the No Physicality Agreement. They are on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Tournament, this has gotta be a tough one. Athena says maybe, maybe not, but the facts are this: Athena has been the ROH Women’s World Champion for over 1252 DAYS, and has left of dozens of bodies in her wake. Pretty sure Mina’s one of them. Mina says last year at All In, Athena broke Mina’s hand. Athena says so what! Last year at Death Before Dishonor, she kicked Mina’s ass all over the arena! Why does Mina think this match will be any different?

Mina laughs and says last night at Supercard, when she locked in the Figure Four on her opponent, she dreamt it was Athena. Athena says Mina is dreaming of her! So flattered! But she hopes Mina has the best dream tonight: Mina’s dead body in a ditch, next to her precious Toni Storm! Mina tells Athena that Mina has dreamt of winning The Owen and the AEW Women’s World title, while ending Athena! She can’t dream anymore, because now she will live it! Athena says sure, sure. They argue, but Lexy keeps them from getting physical! Will the Fallen Goddess be unstoppable even in AEW? Or will The Owen will be about #MinaNow?

Backstage interview with Lio Rush.

Nigel McGuinness tracked down The Problem Child, and walks over. Lio says hey, Nigel! Good to see you! He saw Nigel put in that work last night, he did great. He did really good. Nigel appreciates that, that’s what he wants to talk about. Specifically, what happened between Lio and his former tag team partner, Action Andretti. Action cost Lio the ROH World TV Championship, what is Lio’s response? Lio says it’s all fine! It’s fine! These things happen, Nigel. Losses happen, friends get upset. It’s fine. It’s fine. Lio keeps saying that, and Nigel says that is the official response. Lio again says it’s good to see Nigel.

But then Lio takes off his sunglasses to show off those creepy eyes. He smiles, and that black goo drools out… Lio continues to say it’s fine, but is it anything but fine? Or should Action learn to sleep with one eye open?

Backstage interview with Anna Jay.

Lexy Nair is with the Queenslayer and commends her on that great return match against Willow Nightingale a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to stop the Comeback Killer. Anna gives all the respect to Willow, her moves hurt. Maybe Anna dove into the deep end, but she didn’t drown. So while Willow is still TBS Champion, maybe Willow isn’t quite the Comeback Killer. Anna came back, is still here, and there is still a lot left for them to do. And by that, she means her and Tay Melo! The besties reunite, and Tay says if Anna is back, and she is back, then there’s one thing they gotta do.

Anna tells if they wanna find out what that is, #JustTryUs! TayJay is back again, but are they going to fight their way right to the Divine Dominion’s tag titles?

AEW World Championship No Count Outs: Darby Allin VS Sammy Guevara!

The Relentless One may have gotten MJF to accept the Double or Nothing challenge, but he is always up for a fight! The Spanish God still has the ROH World Tag Team Championship around his waist, but he wants even more gold to show off to his wife and daughter! Who gets what they want tonight to then head for Queens, New York?

As he makes his entrance, Sammy brings a table out from under the ring and sets it up ringside, planning ahead for the wild fight he and Darby are about to have! The introductions are made, and Darby kneels down with the belt, only for Sammy to STOMP him into it!! The ref reprimands, the fans boo, but Sammy holds up the belt as if he’s already won it! Sammy puts the belt aside, the bell rings, and Sammy KNEES Darby right outta the ring! Sammy THROWS Darby into railing, THROWS him in again, then goes back to his table! Sammy puts the table by the stage, then he drags Darby up. Sammy THROWS Darby into more railing! And more railing!

Sammy grabs a ladder and he brings it over to his table! The ref reprimands, there are no count outs but there are still disqualifications! Sammy doesn’t seem to care, he still stands his ladder up near that table. Sammy then lines up a shot, and he JUMP KNEES Darby back down! “I’m gonna be the world champion! Me! Not him!” Sammy drags Darby up, puts him on the table, and he rains down fists! Sammy climbs the ladder, goes to the very top, and reminds us that he’s loco! SUPER SWANTON BOMB through the table!! Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)

As if his reign wasn’t wild and reckless before, Darby just doubled down with Sammy here tonight! And yet, he’s now set for a showdown with Speedball in Portland! Will no one and nothing stop Darby Allin from doing this again and again? Or is he about to write a check his body can’t cash?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision that not only fed Double or Nothing but did a great job following up ROH Supercard of Honor, assuring fans that ROH does matter after all, despite the lack of building contenders and therefore new champions. I mean, Athena is STILL champion, even when Survival of the Fittest was the best way to dethrone her while protecting her. But good interaction from Athena and Mina ahead of their Owen Hart Cup match, and if Athena is going to still be champion even now, she might as well just be a finalist already. On the other end, it’d be great if Willow also got to the finals to potentially be a two-time Queen of Harts.

Speaking of Willow, great promo with Conglomeration, great match with Red Velvet, but with Velvet still the ROH Women’s World TV Champion, it makes sense that Willow retains her title. Great Six Man Tag from Conglomeration VS Shane Taylor Promotions, and The Conglomeration’s win helps them build momentum towards all their stories. Very good promo from Kyle, very good promo from Death Riders, and I feel like Kyle should at least last the 20 minute time limit to earn his title match with Moxley for Double or Nothing. Meanwhile, Cassidy & Roddy are NOT winning against FTR, FTR has to settle things with Cope & Christian first.

Ciampa going after Briscoe, that whole brawl, and then Briscoe upping the ante for Dynamite, that No Disqualification match is going to be awesome. Very good tag match of Joe & Bowens VS Lethal & Lee, with a good win for The Opps. Very good promo from Joe & Bowens after, and a very good promo from Ospreay, too. Joe VS Ospreay could be a show stealer, but I would think Ospreay wins so that his story with The Death Riders can be part of the Owen Cup. TayJay being back together is great, and I can see them going right at Divine Dominion and easily lasting the five minutes to then earn their title match later on.

Great Six Man Tag of Davis & Dogs VS Rascalz, but with Stadium Stampede looming, naturally Davis & Dogs won to bring momentum for their team. I’d expect The Demand to have their own tune-up for the three-hour super show go-home next week, but they might’ve announced that tonight if that were the case. Very good promo from Lio Rush to further this Jekyll & Hyde/Smeagle & Gollum type of gimmick for him. For those who didn’t watch Supercard (or haven’t read my article on it), Action Andretti turned on Lio Rush and partially blamed Lio’s new dark side for it. RIP CRU, we hardly knew you, but Action VS this Lio is going to be great stuff between AEW and ROH programming.

And of course, another insane instant classic from Darby Allin as he and Sammy use No Count Outs to get hardcore. Good bit of selling from Darby to tease his body giving out on him, but naturally he wins out. They might do a similar spot during his match against Speedball on Wednesday to make it seem MJF has a chance of taking the title at Double or Nothing.

My Score: 8.9/10

PLAY BY PLAY

MJF arrives backstage.

Renee Paquette is there to bring up tonight’s main event is Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW World Championship. If Darby Allin wins, MJF will then have to sign a contract for Title VS Hair at Double or Nothing. Darby has made it clear that if MJF doesn’t sign said contract, Darby will never allow MJF to face him for the title again. We all know how important the title is for MJF, but is MJF willing to put his hair on the line for it? MJF just chuckles and moves on, but he notices the very bald Rick Knox, Bryce Remsburg, and the head of security, David Aponte. And then various bald members of the production staff…

And then even Christopher Daniels & Sonjay Dutt are there! Daniels and Sonjay chuckle before moving on, and then MJF sees John Silver flexing. Brandon Cutler, some arena staff, and even Tommaso Ciampa, all bald. Then last but certainly not least, Ricochet! He tells MJF that don’t worry, he’ll look great. Just not as good as Ricochet. AHA~! MJF storms off, will he have no choice but to choose between gold belt and chrome dome?

10 Man Tag: Orange Cassidy, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage & The Young Bucks VS Tommaso Ciampa, David Finlay, Clark Connors & FTR w/ Stokely Hathaway!

While we know the AEW World Tag Team Championship match will be a conglomeration of I Quit Match and New York Street Fight, THE Conglomeration will be waiting on the other side for their own tag title match. And let’s not forget that Matt & Nick Jackson want their own shot at those titles again. With that, can Freshly Squeezed work together with C&C and The Bucks? Or will the Psycho Killer, the Dogs, and the Top Guys all stand tall on the road to Double or Nothing?

The teams sort out and the teams just brawl it out! The fans cheer as The Bucks have The Dogs, Cope is after Ciampa, Christian is after Cash, and Dax brawls with Cassidy! The Polar Express is getting going, and Finlay joins the ride! DOUBLE NORTHERN LIGHTS!

The fans are electric and it’s not just the volt green! Time for a SUPERKICK PARTAY~! Wait, Stokely grabs a foot each! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Stoke can’t even trip The Bucks up. Then FTR is sent into The Dogs before DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! Ciampa runs up to waistlock but Nick switches. Ciampa BOOTS Matt away, ELBOWS Nick, but Matt dodges, PSYCHO KNEE into Cash! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for Ciampa!

This distraction lets Christian LOW BLOW Cash! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for Cash! Christian covers, TWO! Cash survives, the fans boo, but Christian rains down fists while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Christian puts Cash in the corner to CHPO, CHOP, and then rain down fists! Christian goes past TEN, maybe to fifteen, then stops. Cash sputters, Stoke talks trash, but Christian grabs Stoke! Cash CLUBS Christian, Ciampa HOTSHOTS the bad arm, and Ciampa hurries to tag in. Ciampa drags Christian around, SLAMS the bad arm off the mat, then SLAMS the arm again! Ciampa POSTS Christian, and Christian falls to the apron. The ref keeps his eyes on the rest of the team so they stay back. Ciampa goes out, and he SWINGS the bad arm into the post! Will putting their tag team legacy on the line be enough to take the gold? Or will Double or Nothing be the last night that team reeks of awesomeness?

Will Ospreay continues to train with The Death Riders.

They’re outside this time, Claudio Castagnoli playing some wall ball with Marina Shafir and Pac. Daniel Garcia says, “Tonight is the night that we’ve all been waiting for: The Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, is cleared and back on Dynamite. And rumor has it, the kid’s been working real hard and he’s got some new tricks up his sleeves. So Young Boy Billy, tonight you gotta show me something, c’mon.” Garcia gets a quick turn in on wall ball while cameras move over. Ospreay is maintaining a neck bridge while Jon Moxley uses Wheeler Yuta as a living dummy to show just how to push and pull and bend and twist on the various chinlocks and headlocks.

Use the right arm to push against the head, then snake in the left arm for the sleeper. Pry and shoot. Moxley asks how Ospreay feels. Ospreay lets off the bridge and says honestly, the best he’s felt in forever. Moxley asks if Ospreay remembers the night he won the Best of the Super Juniors. Yeah, 2019. AKA a lifetime ago. Ospreay was carefree, flew like a bird, for no other reason than that’s just what birds do. So simple back then, chasing that feeling, like no other feeling in the world. Can’t really grab it in your hands for more than a few seconds. The joy of doing it. Then everybody comes in and tries to make it so overcomplicated.

Years pass, life happens, a family starts, responsibilities show up, bad things happen, bad choices catch up to you, and it’s all weight on your shoulders. You feel like you can’t fly. But Moxley will tell you something: Nothing is different. Nothing has changed. All those things are still gonna be there, but you can still fly. You’re just more dangerous now. You’re a bird of prey. So tonight, when you got out there, don’t go out there to protect anything. Not your neck, your image, your reputation, or what you’ve built in your career. Go out there to give something. Moxley checks on Yuta and says dammit, if you’re gonna snap a headlock, snap the headlock!

Moxley storms off to instruct his pupil, but will Ospreay use everything he has been taught to great effect? Or will he have to fold against Ace Austin?

Chris Jericho speaks.

“You wanna face Jericho in a match of my own design, Ricochet? A spectacle so innovative, so imaginative, it cannot be contained, it can only be witnessed. Well, be careful what you demand, because you’ve made a few enemies yourself, Ricochet. And now a match designed specifically to settle scores without any, and I mean AAANY~, limitations has gotten even bigger.” Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate were just looking for two more, but “Jungle” Jack Perry said he can bring four: himself, The Young Bucks, and KENNY OMEGA! Jericho tells Ricochet that this is no longer what he designed, but it is a devil’s dance of destruction! Ricochet’s destruction!

Ricochet got what he wanted, now can he handle it? Bald. The first-ever SEVEN VS SEVEN Stadium Stampede, who will even survive?

Ricochet & The Demand respond.

They stand with Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family and Ricochet says we all know Jericho does a lot of talking out of his ass while The Demand gets things done. Just like Davis did when he defeated Jack for the AEW National Championship at Fairway to Hell. Hold it with pride, Davis, Ricochet knows you’ll do it well. Davis says he’s got this. Ricochet says Davis has joined the dream team, but he’s not the only one. Because compliments to Ricochet’s golfing buddy, Don Callis, look who else he’s sending: Andrade El Idolo! Gracias, amigo. But it doesn’t stop there, the train keeps rolling. Ricochet was just approached by two guys who have an ax to grind with the superkick sidekicks.

These two wanna fill out the last two spots, so who is Ricochet to say no to The Dogs? Finlay & Connors storm in, and Finlay says to put it simple, they will fight The Bucks in the streets, in the ring, but guess it’s fighting at Double or Nothing! If they want violence, if they want carnage, if they want chaos, who better than The Dogs?! The Dogs bark and Liona roars, but will these seven stand tall in the Big Apple?

“Speedball” Mike Bailey w/ Kevin Knight VS BK Westbrook!

JetSpeed has a lot of momentum on their side, and as stated last week at Fairway to Hell, they’re looking to grab up all the gold they can. Will Speedball keep on rolling towards his own golden opportunity? Or will #Supastud prove his own worth?

The bell rings and the fans rally as the two step up. Bailey bows in respect, offers a handshake, but Westbrook goes to roll Bailey up! Bailey stays on his feet, then steps over to sit down on a cover, TWO! Westbrook ducks a Penalty Kick, avoids the moonsault, and the sweep! Bailey dodges, Westbrook tiger feints through the ropes, but Bailey handsprings up and over! The fans fire up as Bailey ducks an elbow to whip. Westbrook goes up, around, but kinda fumbles his tumble. The fans cheer and jeer him for his attempt, but Westbrook blocks the boot! Westbrook FLIPS Bailey, springboards in, but Bailey dodges! TIME ADVENTURE!

Bailey pushes Westbrook down, goes up the corner, and the fans fire up for the ULTIMATE WEAPON! Cover, Bailey wins!

Bailey brings mics into the ring to say, “Congratulations to The Jet on a hell of a win!” Knight says much appreciated. But like he said, they’re red hot right now! And Brian Cage, welcome back! Cage took Knight to his limits, but The Jet is still standing as TNT Champion. But Knight can’t get over how last week, he couldn’t get the job done becoming #Jet2Belts. Bailey says forget last week. AEW reveals the Men’s Owen Hart Memorial Tournament Brackets!

This year’s tournaments will go through Double or Nothing, and the finals will coincide with Forbidden Door 2026 on Sunday, June 28th in San Jose, California! The winner of each tournament will then challenge for THE AEW World Championship and AEW Women’s World Championships on August 30th at All In: London! “Jungle” Jack Perry speaks.

“Mark Davis… I’m sure you feel some congratulations are in order. But you’re not champion to me. You see, you’re built like an Australia grizzly bear, yet you still needed somebody to hit me in the back with a golf club for you to beat me. At Stadium Stampede, bring your friends, bring any weapon you want, and I will crack you over the skull with it. Because anything goes. But after that, it’s back to grass roots, because it is you and me, fighting for a shot at the world title at All In: London. And in the Owen Hart Tournament, I will prove to you beyond a shadow of a doubt that I’m a better wrestler than you. I am the FUTURE world champion!

“And if you don’t like that, F YOU!” Jungle Jack is sharpening his knife, but will his edge be razor sharp when it comes time to cut down Dunkzilla?

The fans cheer the standoff, and the two reset. They feel things out, knuckle lock, and go shoulder to shoulder in a Test of Strength. The fans rally as Ace pushes Ospreay back. Ace has Ospreay down for a knuckle lock cover, ONE as Ospreay gets his arm up. Ace pushes it down, cover, ONE as Ospreay gets the other arm up. Ace tries again, ONE as Ospreay bridges! Ace TAPS, Ospreay wins!!

Winner: Will Ospreay, by submission

That might’ve been Ospreay’s first win by submission ever! He signals that his neck is no longer a problem, and he shows Ace respect for that fight. Ace accepts the handshake again, and Ospreay is moving on towards Double or Nothing with a great amount of momentum. But wait! SAMOA JOE is here! He and The Opps walk out on stage, and with mic in hand, Joe says, “Ospreay, Ospreay… OSPREAY, OSPREAY!” Joe is clearly mocking the chants for Ospreay, and the fans give genuine chanting and even singing in return. Joe says he just wanted to make sure Ospreay was listening, because these past few weeks, it seemed like Ospreay had a hard time hearing him.

Despite Ospreay’s best efforts, fate has put them on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Cup. The fans like the sound of that! Joe say she is here for one reason and one reason alone. He wants to speak about choices and consequences. Ospreay could’ve made the right choice and get a bye in this tournament, because that is what Joe would do for one of his friends. But Ospreay chose poorly. He could’ve been with the team that would do nothing but support and enhance Ospreay, but he decided to be a lapdog for Moxley and the Death Riders. The fans boo, Ospreay says he’s not a Death Rider.

Joe says Ospreay has made his choice, and come Double or Nothing, Joe makes Ospreay suffer the consequences. But Joe leaves Ospreay in peace tonight, for he has his date with destiny. But unfortunately, Joe’s friends, Katsuyori Shibata & Anthony Bowens, still feel slighted, and he doesn’t put leashes on his friends. Shibata & Bowens storm down the ramp, Ospreay ready to fight them both if he has to. But then The Death Riders appear! Ospreay may not have officially joined the club, but the Death Riders aren’t going to let their investment go to waste! The Opps say they’re #NeverLacking, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now!

Shibata & Bowens back down while Moxley, Marina, Claudio, Yuta, Garcia & Pac all step up to support Ospreay. Joe says, “Soon. Soon.” The fans cheer the Death Riders, or at least Moxley, but Bowens promises Joe is gonna kill you, Ospreay! The dream match for Double or Nothing is on, but will the training with The Death Riders make Ospreay the new King of Harts?

BREAKING NEWS for next week!

If you liked last week’s THREE HOUR block of AEW, then you’ll love this next one! Portland, Maine, the last Wednesday before Double or Nothing, Dynamite & Collision are combining forces again! Three hours all on TBS and HBO Max, make sure your DVR is set accordingly!

Backstage interview with Don Callis & Konosuke Takeshita.

Renee is now with The Invisible Hand & The Alpha, saying tonight is a huge opportunity in the main event, Konosuke facing Darby Allin for THE AEW World Championship. Konosuke could be heading into Double or Nothing as a- Callis stops Renee there to say Konosuke will be heading into Double or Nothing as a DOUBLE champion! But then MJF steps in, apologizes for the interruption but says Renee’s doing a great job. The Scumbag tells Konosuke that while it’s been a minute since the two of them have talked, three years actually, back when MJF beat him… MJF has seen Konosuke develop into truly one of the best wrestlers in the world!

MJF believes that tonight, Konosuke beats Darby for the title, goes to DON to beat Okada, and MJF can’t think of a better match than Konosuke VS MJF Part 2 for the world title. How’s that sound? MJF offers a handshake, Konosuke shakes his hand, but in Japanese, Konosuke tells MJF that he’ll beat the crap out of him. Thankfully, MJF doesn’t know Japanese. Callis says that was a nice pep talk MJF just gave, and MJF says yes, he knows. That kid needs to win, okay? MJF can’t let Darby turn him into some disgusting, bald freak! No offense, Callis looks great. But look, there is only one foolproof way to know MJF won’t be put in that situation.

So if things get hairy… MJF hands over the Dynamite Diamond Ring! Callis smiles, and say she understands what to do with it. But then in steps Andrade. El Idolo takes off his hat to shake out his amazing head of hair, and smiles at MJF. MJF frowns and leaves. Callis says here’s the deal: Takeshita will bring the world title home to the Don Callis Family tonight! Andrade asks, “How you know?” Callis says aye dios mio, he seriously doesn’t know where Andrade learned English. Andrade says one way or another, the next time, that will be HIS title. Callis says yes, he knows, it’s all good. Callis is a man of many talents, but will his family be dripping with gold thanks to a diamond ring?

AEW now announces the Women’s Owen Hart Memorial Tournament brackets!

Double or Nothing will see Willow Nightingale, the reigning Queen of Harts, take on Alex Windsor, while we will see Persephone VS Hazuki, Skye Blue vs Sareee, and Mina Shirakawa VS Athena! Champions from around the world are gathering for this tournament, but who will be headed to Forbidden Door, and then All In: London?

Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.

Renee Paquette is now with Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Willow Nightingale. Renee commends Cassidy on his part in the 10 Man Tag victory. But it seems that there is even more business to attend to. Cassidy says yes, the team has a shot at THE AEW World Tag Team Championships. It doesn’t matter who it is, they’re getting their shot, but the thing is… They still haven’t decided on which two will be. Kyle says Cassidy & Roddy should go for the gold, but Roddy shouts, “KYYYLE~! Thank you.” Kyle says of course. But that’s cuz he’s got gold to chase for himself!

The same man that put Kyle on the shelf for months is the man that Kyle submitted twice, and will submit again. Jon Moxley, Continental Champion, when are we doing this? Willow says speaking of gold, she is still the TBS Champion. But she is also in the Owen Hart Cup. She won this tournament before, she’ll do it all over again, so that she can have all the gold for herself at All In: London. She knows she can, and she will! Then Conglomeration has it all in order? Cassidy says hold on, there’s something missing. They should do a Word of the Day. Why haven’t they done one in so long? Roddy shouts for “MAAARK~!” And yes, Mark Briscoe returns!

The Sussex County Chicken is all fired up, and he says the Word of the day is reunification! For Mark Briscoe is back with his boys and his girls, The Conglomeration! But he’ll put this plain and simple: Tommaso Ciampa! Next Wednesday, Briscoe’s after your ass, son! You hear him? But before that, Saturday Night Collision is in HIS hometown, Salisbury, Maryland! That’s just 4.4 miles from where Briscoe originated on this earth! They’re gonna conglomerate and it’s gonna be a a hell of a time! Are you ready!? Willow and Kyle are fired up, Briscoe goes wild, and the team heads out. Cassidy admits, that was a lot of yelling.

But while The Conglomeration is ready to go Double or Nothing, will they soon have even more gold in the collection? Or are these high and lofty a little too much even for them?

Six Woman Tag: Hikaru Shida & The Brawling Birds VS The Triangle of Madness!

With the news of both the AEW Women’s World Championship Fatal 4 Way for Double or Nothing, and the Owen Hart Cup brackets, this trios match is about much more than just settling scores! Will the Shining Samurai be just as sharp as Jamie Hayter going into that title match? Or will Thekla, Skye Blue & Julia Hart continue to bring them down by any means necessary?

The trios sort out and Jamie steps up against Thekla as both a rematch from their 1v1 title match, and a preview of what’s to come in the next. They circle, but then Skye CLOBBERS Jamie! Julia steps in, but so do Shida and Windsor! The Triangle throws hands on Shida & The Birds, then triple whip. But all three reverse, a BOOT for Thekla, a DDT for Skye, and a BACKBREAKER for Julia! The fans cheer as The Triangle bails out! Shida goes out to keep after Skye while Windsor goes after Julia. Jamie gets Thekla back in the ring while Shida and Windsor have the Sisters of Sin in the corners of the barriers. The fans cheer as they all rain down fists!

Windsor, Jamie & Shida all go to nine, then wind up for TEN! The fans cheer again while Thekla sputters. Jamie snap suplexes, but Skye ROCKS Shida! The Triangle has control again, they ROCK Jamie and Shida and Windsor, then send them all to the desk. The Triangle CHOP again and again and again! Then they wind up, but feint chops to SMACK all three off the apron! The Triangle soaks up the cheers and jeers before putting Jamie back in the ring. Thekla brings Jamie up, snapmares her down, then basement SUPERKICKS! Cocky cover, TWO! Thekla drags Jamie to the corner, tags Julia, and Julia runs up to LARIAT! Then she goes side to side to ELBOW Jamie down!

Julia then drags Jamie over, bumps her off buckles, and tags in Skye. Skye stomps Jamie around, then digs her boot in! The ref counts, Skye stops at 4, then she brings Jamie up. Jamie fires forearms and CHOPS, but Skye THROWS Jamie down by her hair! The ref reprimands again but Skye rains down forearms. Skye snapmares Jamie, mule kicks her, then covers, TWO! Skye frowns but she stomps Jamie down. Skye tags Julia while Dynamite returns to single picture.

Skye whips Jamie into Julia’s grasp, and Skye BLASTS Shida & Windsor while Julia tags Thekla. Julia has Jamie in the TARANTULA, and Skye sends Windsor in for Thekla’s HANGING HEADSCISSORS! Skye runs up to DOUBLE SHOTGUN The Birds! The fans are torn but Thekla says that’s how the Triangle does it, baby! Thekla then aims to MISSILE- NO, Jamie gest under! Thekla lands out, but Jamie BOOTS her down! Jamie looks at Shida, Shida is hesitant, but Shida tags in! The fans cheer as Shida sends Theknla to the corner, then JUMP KNEES! Shida keeps moving, she BLASTS Skye! Julia ROCKS Shida back!

Julia storms in but Shida kicks her and whips her into Thekla! Shida KNEES them both in the corner! Then Shida puts Thekla sideways in the corner, reels Julia in, and she snap suplexes Julia into Thekla! The fans fire up as Shida then suplexes Thekla high and hard! Cover, TWO! Shida stands Thekla up, Thekla swings but Shida ROCKS her first! And ROCKS her again! Thekla wobbles, swings, but Shida catches Thekla for another forearm! Shida runs the ropes but Thekla mule kicks! Thekla SMACKS Shida, then she dodges a boot to DECK Shida! Thekla talks trash on Shida, then drags her up to tag in Julia.

Julia tags Skye, then tag back to Thekla. The Sisters of Sin hit the DOUBLE GOURD BUSTER and DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! Thekla hits the bridge, and she aims for the SPIDER SPEAR! Cover, but The Birds CLOBBER The Sisters of Sin onto it! The fans fire up a Windsor DECKS Skye and Jamie HEADBUTTS Julia! The Birds drag Shida to safety, Windsor tags in, and she CLOBBERS Thekla! Windsor CLUBS away, then fires the fans up. Jamie steps in, BOOT RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP COMBO! Basement LARIAT! And then Windsor lifts! Jamie runs up, but Skye trips Jamie! The fans boo but Skye sends Jamie into steel steps!

Thekla sends Windsor into buckles! Tag to Julia before Shida runs up, TAMASHII KNEE on Thekla! Skye SUPERKICKS Shida! Jamie is back to clinch and HAYTBREAKER! Julia runs up, slips around, SOLE FOOD! Julia kips up, but Windsor is there to whip Julia to ropes! Skye tags in before the SPINEBUSTER! Skye SUPERKICKS Windsor, then brings her up! Skye hops on, CODE- NO, Windsor pops free! Skye SUPERKICKS again, but Windsor HEADBUTTS! The fans fire up as Jamie joins in again, and they DOUBLE LARIAT SANDWICH! Then they set Skye up, and Jamie says let’s try this again!

Jamie runs the ropes, but Thekla slides in, BELT SHOT on Jamie!! No question that the ref saw that! The Triangle is disqualified!

Winners: Hikaru Shida & The Brawling Birds, by disqualification

The Toxic Spider doesn’t care about this win, she just wants to do damage! Skye gets Windsor in a DRAGON SLEEPER! The ref stops Thekla from sing the title belt again, so Thekla just takes off her own belt! And she LASHES Windsor while Skye holds her down! More refs rush out here, but Julia MISTS the newbie in the face! Julia stomps away on Jamie, not caring about fines or consequences, either! The fans boo, and Shida is bailing on the Birds? Shida cares more about her chances in that Fatal 4 Way than anything else. But then Willow, Mina, and even Thunder Rosa rush out here! They chase The Triangle off with belts of their own!

The fans cheer as The Babe, the Fighting Gravure Idol & La Mera Mera save the day. But will Jamie make sure Thekla and Shida pay for this at Double or Nothing?

AEW World Championship: Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita!

They say “card subject to change,” and that is true even for the best in the world. Kazuchika Okada’s real family takes priority, but his Don Callis Family brother was more than happy to step up for this opportunity. Will The Alpha already have two belts by the time he and The Rainmaker battle over the International Championship? Or will Darby truly be relentless in his pursuit of being the best fighting champion in AEW history?

The introductions are made, THE belt is raised, and we see who goes to Double or Nothing on top!

Callis joins commentary to say that while Darby’s been breaking his own body, Konosuke has perfected “rejuvenation training,” aka relaxing on a beach and sipping sake! The bell rings, and Darby SHOTGUNS Konosuke out! Then Darby DIVES, but Konosuke catches him! Konosuke POSTS Darby, then THROWS him into railing! Konosuke THROWS Darby into the ring, the fans fire up for both guys, and Konosuke hurries to BOOT Darby off the apron! Darby falls in front of commentary but Konosuke gets him right back in the ring. Cover, ONE!! The fans rally as Darby shows his grit, but Konosuke snarls.

Konosuke drags Darby up, Darby fires forearms, but the ALPHA ELBOW knocks Darby down! The fans fire up while Konosuke looms over Darby. Konosuke stands Darby up, and THROWS him into a corner! Darby bounces off the buckles and is bleeding from the mouth already! Konosuke stands Darby up, hoists him up top, then he climbs up after him. But Darby BITES Konosuke, CLUBS him down, and leaps for a CROSSBODY, but he bounces off Konosuke! The fans fire up again as Konosuke whips Darby for a BACKDROP! Darby got serious hangtime there, and he flounders out of the ring. Darby coughs and sputters but the fans rally up.

Konosuke goes out after Darby but Darby SMACKS him! Konosuke KNEES low, KNEES him again and again and again! Konosuke KNEES Darby against the barriers, then refreshes the count. Konosuke whips Darby hard into railing! Darby sputters as he leans against the railing, but Konosuke positions the steel steps. Konosuke then fetches Darby, lines up a shot, but Darby fights the suplex! Darby CLAWS Konosuke’s back, then fires a shot. Konosuke DECKS Darby in return! Darby slumps against the steps, Konosuke runs up, but Darby dodges! Konosuke’s knees hit the steps and he tumbles over! Darby then runs up the steps to SHOTGUN Konosuke down!

The fans fire up while both men are down on the floor! Konosuke checks his knee before he crawls around, and Darby gets in the ring so he can build speed! Darby DIVES! Direct hit on Konosuke but Darby’s the one who hits the desk! The fans fire up while both men are down again, but Darby rises up to get Konosuke on the apron! Darby fires forearms, then goes up a corner! COFFIN- NO, Konosuke catches him for a SUPER BLUE THUNDER BOMB to the floor!! The fans go nuts again and Callis says that’s the end of Darby Allin, but Dynamite goes picture in picture.

The ref hurries to check Darby but Callis tells Doc Sampson to call it. Darby is somehow still in this, so Konosuke storms his way over. Konosuke drags Darby up, puts him in the ring, then paces around him. Konosuke runs the ropes to LARIAT! Darby flips inside-out, Konosuke covers him, TWO!! Darby still has fight inside but he’s also dazed. Konosuke clamps onto Darby with a chinlock and squeezes tight. Darby endures, even as Konosuke leans on him with his much-taller frame. Darby reaches out, fights around, and rises up, only for Konosuke to CANADIAN RACK BOMB! Darby sputters all over again while Dynamite returns to single picture.

Konosuke sits back as he watches Darby crawl to the apron. Konosuke storms his way over, but Darby RAMS low! Slingshot sunset flip, but Konosuke rolls through! Only for Darby to kick the legs out! Darby catches Konosuke to a GUILLOTINE! Konosuke endures the squeeze, fights up to his feet, and he powers out to THROW Darby! Darby lands out, fires shots, and RAMS low! Darby then hops on, but Konosuke stops Code Red! Konosuke swings Darby around, tucks him in, BASTARD DRIVER! And WHEELBARROW GERMAN! The fans fire up and Callis says that’s true power! Darby sputters again and Konosuke vows to end this.

Konosuke runs corner to corner, HELLUVA KICK!! Then he hoists Darby up top, climbs up after him, and goes to the very top! The fans freak out already for the SUPER DUPER GERMAN SUPLEX!! Bridging cover, TWO!!! Callis is freaking out as much as the fans, and he protests the count! Konosuke is furious, but he aims for the WAGAMAMA KNEE!!! Cover, TWO?!?! Darby survives by nanoseconds, and Konosuke is beside himself! “This is Awesome!” but now CLØN rushes out here! He distracts the ref, and Callis hurries to take the Dynamite Diamond Ring off his finger to put it in Konosuke’s hands! Konosuke thinks about it, but The Alpha has honor!

The fans cheer as Konosuke wants to do this his way! But then Darby runs up, cradles, TWO!! Konosuke escapes, ALPHA ELBOW!! Darby is down, dazed, but still moving! Konosuke drags Darby up again, goes back to the corner and back to the top rope. The fans hope these two “FIGHT FOREVER!” but it has to end somehow! Darby fights against the lift with headlock punches! Then he hops on, SUPER CODE RED!! Konosuke staggers up, Darby leg scissors, steps through, LAST SUPPER!! TWO?!?! Konosuke escapes again, then bails out! So Darby just goes up top! SUPER COFFIN DROP!! Direct hit and both men are down again!

The fans are thunderous as Konosuke and Darby stir. A ring count climbs, Callis complains that some people just gotta follow directions and run the play! Coach Callis pulled Konosuke outta obscurity, Konosuke would do anything! Now he’s got some gold, some fame, and gets a mind of his own! Callis complaining aside, the ring count is climbing! Darby drags himself in at 9, but Konosuke YANKS him back out! That refreshes the count, and Konosuke vows to end this for real now. Konosuke points to the steel steps, and he drags Darby up onto them with a deadlift RAGING- NO, Darby knees Konosuke, turns things around, and FULL METAL SCORPION DEATH DROP!!!

The fans go nuts again while Konosuke writhes! Konosuke flops off the steps, Darby crawls into the ring, and Darby just climbs the corner again! SUPER DUPER COFFIN DROP!!! Konosuke might be unconscious! Darby still hauls Konosuke into the ring, pushes him to a cover, TWO?!?!? Konosuke survives and Darby is furious! But Darby just reloads, COFFIN DROP but onto knees!!! Ghost pin, TWO!!! Darby escapes but the WAGAMAMA KNEE finds him!! Konosuke hauls Darby up, but Darby pops free! Trip, step through, and SCORPION DEATH LOCK!!! Konosuke endures, reaches out, but Darby sits deep!!

Callis says don’t even think about it! Konosuke almost does, but he bites his own thumb to ignore the pain in his back! Konosuke reaches out, crawls his way forward, and he fights to the ROPEBREAK!!! But Darby is right up top! COFFION DROP on the back!! Then Darby goes right back up, COFFIN DROP again!!! Cover, DARBY WINS!!

Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)

Callis is steaming, but Darby overcomes Konosuke to avenge that loss in the Continental Classic! But it also took so much out of him just to do it! Darby still asks for a mic and one is brought to him. Darby sits up against the ropes, has them cut his music, and he tells MJF to get his ass out here! There’s a contract MJF needs to sign! The ring crew hurries to bring in a table and some chairs for that very contract signing, and MJF makes his entrance. MJF reluctantly makes his way down the ramp, and both men meet at the table. Darby grins with blood still in hiss teeth, and he signs his part of the contract without hesitation, unlike MJF.

The fans already chant “BALD! BALD! BALD!” at MJF, and Darby pushes the contract to his side of the table. MJF grabs the pen, reaches out, but then steps away. MJF scratches his chin as he thinks on this, and the fans just chant, “BALD! BALD! BALD!” again. MJF takes a mic to say he’ll explain something to Darby, looking like he has rabies. But see, MJF is happy for Darby, he hopes Darby’s had fun holding MJF’s AEW World Championship. The fans boo that, but MJF says deep down, there is a small part of him, like the size of a North Carolinian p*nis small. That small part of MJF feels bad for Darby, because he’ll never hold this again!

Darby’s got about a good a chance of holding this title as Hangman Adam Page does again. MJF says guys like Darby are a dime a dozen, here today and gone tomorrow, stuntmen who burn the candle at both ends. In this life, people like all these fans here like to pretend that life is about making friends and family and children. The only thing that matters in life is your legacy. And Darby’s legacy will be that of the kid who had his 15 minutes of fame. They’ll pretend like Darby made a lasting impact, but the fact of the matter is, he hasn’t. He hasn’t! They’ll know deep down that Darby Allin was just a little pr*ck who got lucky.

They’ll know that Darby was too reckless and stupid to stay on top. And after May 24th, Double or Nothing, in that sh*thole of Queens, New York, y’know what MJF’s legacy will be? He’ll go down as the guy who became a THREE-TIME World Champion at just 30 years of age, unprecedented in this sport. And MJF will go down, when it’s all said and done, as the Greatest of All Time! THAT is the difference between them! Darby Allin brags about climbing a mountaintop. But when it comes to professional wrestling, Maxwell Jacob Friedman IS the mountaintop! The fans boo but MJF soaks it up. Darby tells MJF to SHUT UP!

Only someone like MJF who is so vain would think that the number one most important thing in this world is his legacy. Darby doesn’t care about legacy, he cares about living in the moment! And in this moment, Darby just wants MJF to sign the contract. Then at Double or Nothing, Darby makes Maxwell Jacob Friedman a BALLD HEADED B*TCH!! MJF frowns but the fans cheer that! MJF grabs the pen again, and with no choice, he signs on the dotted line! Then he TACKLES Darby! The fans boo as MJF beats up Darby after the war he went through with Konosuke! MJF CHUCKS an armchair outta the ring, FLIPS the table, then picks up his Dynamite Diamond Ring.

MJF puts the ring on his finger like always, then winds up to DECK Darby!! The fans boo but MJF just soaks it all up. MJF throws off his jacket, picks up the belt, and he stands over Darby with it. But then MJF isn’t done with Darby, he puts Darby on the top rope! MJF climbs up to join him, and drags Darby into position! But wait! Kevin Knight runs out here to chase MJF off! The Jet still owes The Scumbag a receipt, but it seems we’ll all have to wait on that. Will MJF still take back the title at Double or Nothing? Or will Darby keep the belt and take MJF’s dignity?

My Thoughts:

An awesome episode for Dynamite as things heat up towards Double or Nothing. Awesome 10 Man Tag to open, great win for the Faces, not that it added much to FTR VS C&C. Good promo from Jericho to look back on Stadium Stampede and hype up this year’s match. Good promo from The Demand with Davis and The Dogs, and I suppose this maximizes the feuds as well as the alliances throughout the locker room. Who knows who wins but the match will still be awesome, just as the original was. Good promo from Conglomeration, too, Cassidy & Roddy going after FTR while Kyle VS Moxley happens on the side, that’s great stuff.

Speaking of Moxley, great promo from him and Ospreay. Moxley’s semi-turn has really brought out his sage philosophical side. Great match from Ospreay VS Ace, and while Ospreay could always bring out his aggression, seeing him use more technical wrestling and even winning with a submission is good stuff. Good promo from Joe, and I liked Death Riders backing Ospreay up. Very good Owen Hart Cup brackets this year, Joe VS Ospreay is a great choice given this story, but I would think Ospreay wins that one. Good promo from Jack Perry to call out Davis, and I suppose Jack can win in the Owen Cup to then move on from the National title.

Great seeing Brian Cage back, he gave Knight an awesome match, but with JetSpeed wanting to go on a Two Man Power Trip, it makes sense Kevin won out. Same for Bailey beating Westbrook, even though Westbrook maybe went too hard on his own acrobatic escape. Great stuff in the Six Woman Tag, and I appreciate Shida didn’t ditch until after the match. Willow, Mina & Rosa might get their own Six Woman Tag with Triangle of Madness after that interaction, but also can’t wait to see if Willow can go back-to-back as Queen of Harts. For that matter, I personally would love to see Athena use the Owen Cup to move on from being ROH Women’s World Champion, but that depends on how Supercard of Honor goes this Friday.

And of course, another wild instant classic from Darby as he overcomes Takeshita. I knew the diamond ring would come into play with that reverse effect, good way of protecting Takeshita in the loss. Good stuff with MJF tonight, too, such as the opening segment’s parade of bald men to send the message to MJF. That was also a unique contract signing segment in that it came together so quickly after the main event match. Good stuff from MJF as always, and of course he attacks Darby. I feel like either Knight should not have made the save, or both parts of JetSpeed should’ve made the save. It just seems odd that only Knight cared about saving Darby. The closing moment was much better when it was MJF standing over Darby with the belt.

My Score: 9/10
