Concession Stand Brawl: Jeff Jarrett VS Mark Briscoe!
In order to finally settle things between the Last Outlaw and the Sussex County Chicken, as well as Team Triple J and the Briscoes as a whole, Double J brings back a classic invented by his own family! Where will it end and how much will it cost as these two battle it out in the back?
The two are already ready right in front of the Chicago Hot Dog stand! Jarrett is already fired up, he’s already ripping open a bag o’ popcorn and chucking it at Mark! The bell rings and the brawl is on! Fans are going nuts as Mark fires off on Jeff! Mark puts Jeff on the Pepsi brand cooler and just starts hammering him! Then he UPPERCUTS Jarrett! They end up going through the crowd and then a bit further on, to the merch stand! Mark mugs Jarrett, then SMACKS him with a trash can! Jarrett tips a table over! Karen shoves the other workers outta the way and yells at Mark. Someone helps Mark get the ketchup outta his eyes with water, and Mark throws hands on Jarrett! Mark ROCKS Jarrett, puts him on the table, then brings out a ladder! Mark sets that up nearby, and fans fire up as Mark climbs! But then someone else goes up the ladder! They SHOVE Mark, and he CRASHES through another table! IT’S SONJAY DUTT!! So much for Jarrett promising this would be truly 1v1! You can’t trust a Jarrett! Jarrett CHOKES Mark in the wreckage while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Sonjay talks trash and then helps Jarrett get Mark up. Jarrett moves the ladder outta the way, and Mark SMACKS Sonjay with a sausage! Jarrett throws hands, pushes past him, and Sonjay throws hands while Jarrett soaks up the heat. Karen cheers but she’s the only one. Mark DECKS Sonjay, SMACKS Jarrett, STOMPS Sonjay, then hurries after Jarrett with hands and kicks! They continue down the way and fans cheer.
Mark STOPMS Sonjay one more time before leaving him behind. Mark BOOTS Jarrett, CLUBS him along and makes him smile. Mark drags Jarrett along, UPPERCUTS, but Sonjay returns! Mark TOSSES Sonjay over railing, then grabs a chair to SMACK Jarrett! Mark ROCKS Jarrett with haymakers, then gets some space. Mark high-fives fans along the way, and then runs back up with a chair to SMACK Jarrett! Wait! Another person attacks Mark, and of course it’s Jay Lethal! Lethal was Mark’s friend, but clearly he chose Triple J over Mark! Lethal & Jarrett TOSS Mark over the railing, and Sonjay is there to stomp away!

Lethal grabs the timekeeper’s table and brings it over! Jarrett tells the bell ringer to move, but guess who? IT’S PAPA BRISCOE! The Big Man grabs Lethal to CHOKE SLAM him through the table! And then Papa storms into the ring. Sonjay and Jarrett argue over who goes after him, and Sonjay runs in, to get a LARIAT! Papa LARIATS Jarrett, too!
Papa helps Mark up but Karen LOW BLOWS Papa Briscoe! Fans boo but Mark warns Karen. Sonjay runs in but into a REDNECK UPPERCUT! REDNECK PALM STRIKES for Jarrett! Triple J just felt some karma right there! You can’t cheat a man who has REAL friends like these! Will this help Mark Briscoe finally move on and fulfill his destiny?
The Blackpool Combat Club speaks.
Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta are joined by Don Callis & Konosuke Takeshita backstage, and Moxley says, “AEW, NJPW, ROH, Forbidden Doors and all that. There’s only three letters that matter! Don Callis knows this, Takeshita knows this, and we know this. BCC, The Blackpool Combat Club, we define pro-wrestling in 2023. And before Forbidden Door, we have assembled a truly elite team. The BCC, tall, dark ‘n’ sexy Takeshita, and my friend, The Shooter, The Roughneck, Shota Umino. We challenge The Elite to a 5 on 5 match at Forbidden Door. What will be a celebration of wrestling, and we’ve got a treat for ya in Toronto. And the dream match becomes a nightmare when the Rainmaker meets the Best in the World.”
Bryan then speaks, telling Kazuchika Okada, “I’ve challenged you to a face to face tonight, but as far as I can tell, you’re not even here! You’re not even here! And I understand why. Because so many people call you ‘The Best Wrestler in the World.’ The best wrestler of a generation. But when you step in the ring with me, it’s gonna be clear to everybody that you’re nothing but an amateur. I’ll wait until the end of the night. And I’ll go out to the ring, and I’m gonna call you out, and you don’t show up, you’re going to prove to everyone what I just said: That you’re not the best, you’re not the best of a generation, that you’re an amateur and a coward.”
The BCC has thrown out strong words and big challenges, will The Elite be ready for a 5v5 when they’ve only got four? Will the Rainmaker surprise us al by showing up in the Windy City?
Six Man Tag: Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara & Minoru Suzuki VS Action Andretti, Darius Martin & AR Fox!
Fans sing Judas for The Wizard, and he’s feeling good having the Spanish God and the Meanest Man in the World on his side. But is Sammy still JAS 4 Life? Or is what Darby Allin said last week going to break Sammy free from Jericho’s hold?
The trios sort out and while fans chant for “A R FOX! A R FOX!” it is Action who steps up against Sammy. They circle, feel things out, and tie up. Sammy powers Action back, headlocks, but Action powers up and out. Sammy runs Action over! Cover, ONE! Action body scissors to roll Sammy to a cover, TWO! Action avoids a boot, but so does Sammy! Both men show superkick but hold back. Fans cheer the stalemate and the two reset. Sammy tags out to Suzuki, even though Jericho was offering. Winners: Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara & Minoru Suzuki, by submission
Jericho promised a victory in their reunion and now Sammy sees it come true. Renee Paquette enters the ring to interview the winners, congratulating them on this victory. Speaking of legends, she takes us back to last week, the first time ever seeing Sting and Jericho nose to nose inside this ring. What was that moment like for Jericho? Jericho takes the mic from Renee to say, “Sting and Chris Jericho, in the ring, for the very first time ever, was a monumental moment in pro-wrestling history. Never been seen before! Everybody was so excited, except for me.”
Fans boo but Jericho tells Sting that he’s known Sting a long time, and he knows who Sting is. He knows how selfish Sting is, how egotistical he is, how he claims to be a hero to millions! Meanwhile, all Sting ever does is show up wherever the highest bidder is! Sting isn’t a harlequin, he’s a WHORE! Fans boo but Jericho says it all stops now! That is why #LeSuzukiGods, who are undefeated as a trio by the way, are challenging Sting and “that morose mutant, Darby Allin,” to find anyone willing to team with them to face Le Suzuki Gods in a Six Man Tag at Forbidden Door! Fans love that idea because as Jericho says, it will be Jericho and Sting in a match for the first time ever!
But Jericho wonders, will Sting accept? He doesn’t think so, because Sting is a coward, selfish, and nothing more than a sanctimonious son of a- Wait! Here comes STIIIIIING! And Darby, too! Fans fire up as the Relentless Icons go to the ring and Sting howls! Sting stares Jericho down and fans are losing their minds. Sting brings Jericho in close and asks him why he’s so uptight! He’s cussing and stuff under his breath now. They had a great moment last week, Sting agrees. But a moment is not long enough! Sting needs some real time with Jericho! Sting regrets not having some last week, but Sunday, Sting is planning on having some time.
In other words, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! But you gotta remember Jericho, you made a lot of enemies in a lot of places. They’ve got the guy for Sunday. Darby smiles and Jericho dares him to say who it is! Who is it? Darby says we’ll all find out on Collision. Jericho is annoyed by that, but just who will be the third man, brother?
RJ City and Tony Schiavone are in the back.
RJ is rolling the lottery tumbler and Schiavone says that names will be chosen at random. Next week, the world will see the brackets for the AEW World Tag Team Championship Contenders BLIND Tournament! RJ draws for Schiavone, Schiavone takes note, and these two men will form a team. Well, that’s a wild one. The drawing will continue, but we’re going to see quite the tag match as Freshly Squeezed teams with The Wrestler against the Dragonslayer and The Frontman! Cassidy & Shibata VS Garcia & ZSJ happens after the break.
The Elite speak.
Brandon Cutler lets them know they’re live, and Hangman Page says the “Scuttlebutt going around” is that the BCC want to fight The Elite to 5v5. And like always, they use the numbers game to their advantage, cuz everyone knows Kenny Omega has to face Will Ospreay that same night, leaving just three Elite. But uh, correct Hangman if he’s wrong, but they have friends all over, don’t they? Yes, whether it be the Blackpool Combat Club, Don Callis, or Will Ospreay, or even Konosuke Takeshita, Kenny Omega admits that sometimes, it feels like the whole world is against them.
But believe it when Omega says, a LOT of people hate those guys. And it isn’t just The Elite. When the chips were down and they needed a friend, they found one in an unexpected place. In walks Eddie Kingston! But number one, he’s not their friend. After all, they tried running him over and blowing up his face. No, yeah, forget the past, Eddie tried to do just as bad. Yeah, world’s smallest violin for that. But the deal is, while Eddie doesn’t like The Elite, and doesn’t respect the Elite, he hates Bryan and Claudio more. So he’ll team up with them to make four. But then the fifth is someone EDDIE finds. Eddie may not trust this guy, but he trusts them more than The Elite.
So uh, Eddie will make the announcement. Eddie heads out, and Nick says this is that whole enemy of my enemy thing. The Elite is good with that, but then who will The Mad King call on as their fifth?
Adam Cole heads to the ring!
Chicago cheers as the Undisputed One is here, coming off of a time limit draw that kept him from becoming #1 contender. After the “BOOM!” and “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY!” the fans chant “ADAM COLE! ADAM COLE!” Cole gets the mic to say, “Chicago, I think I know the answer, but who’s ready for story time with Adam Cole, baybay?” Now he hates to admit this, but he has to give the devil his due. MJF gave Cole one of the toughest matches of his entire career last week. He was put through a table, given a piledriver on the apron, he fought, kicked, scratched, clawed and did everything in his power to win the match, but he didn’t.
“However, MJF didn’t win, either!” And Cole understands, it was the smart thing to do for MJF to not accept an extra five minutes. But it was also a cowardly thing to do. So let’s get real. If Max wants to be the greatest AEW World Champion ever, he has to take on all comers. He has to fight every single person who gets in his way. And the fact is, MJF has never beaten Adam Cole Baybay! So listen, MJF tends to run his mouth a little too long, so Cole will get to the point. Max, bring your ass out here so you and Cole can talk rematch! MJF actually walks out! MJF smirks and has a mic in hand as he heads down the ring.
MJF has the music cut and he says that he knows the midwestern mouth breathers aren’t very bright, but when the world champion’s holding a mic, you keep your poor mouths shut. Fans boo and chant “SHUT THE F UP!” at MJF but MJF says no. MJF tells Cole that he wants to say, believe it or not, congratulations. “Last week, for the first time in a very long time, someone came out to play. The same guy that I studied, the Panama City Playboy, ADAM COLE BAYBAY, came back and better than ever!” And MJF is the one who got it out of him, so you’re welcome. Not that Cole will say thanks but that’s fine.
Fans continue to jeer MJF but MJF continues to say he’s worried. Cole’s suffered a lot of blows to the head, and last week, Cole lost track of time. To make things even worse, MJF knows it, Cole knows it, everyone in the audience knows it, had time not run out, MJF had Cole beat. Cole laughs at that while fans boo, but MJF says it’s all true. Fans even call BS. But MJF says let’s live in an imaginary world where he didn’t have Cole dead to rights. Here’s what not BS: as far as a rematch goes, allow MJF to say as a fan of his, and after having earned each other’s respect through the war they went through, MJF even says this as a friend…
Because MJF cares about Cole’s health and well-being, as far as a rematch goes… No. Fans boo but Cole figured as much. This is of course what MJF is going to do. So Cole had an idea that might change MJF’s mind. Let’s just fight and Cole whoops some ass here in Chicago! Fans cheer but Schiavone gets on the mic. Schiavone has an announcement. BOTH MJF and Cole shout, “SHUT UP, SCHIAVONE!” They’re surprised the other did that. But even so, Schiavone has to say this. As part of the drawing for the Blind Eliminator Tournament, the first name was Adam Cole. And then the second name was… MJF.
WHAT?! They’re a team now?! Cole does NOT want that! He is NOT teaming with MJF! MJF is furious that he’d have to wrestle every week! Are you outta his mind? Are you some kinda pervert!? Schiavone shrugs that off to wish this team the best of luck. MJF and Cole say they are NOT teaming up for this, but the fans are loving it! “HUG IT OUT! HUG IT OUT!” But then HIROSHI TANAHASHI is on the tron! And he tells MJF that he’s a coward! “What kind of champion are you? I dare you to show up at Forbidden Door so I can show you the strength of NJPW, and of The Ace!” Fans love that idea, too!
MJF says he doesn’t know what kinda dog ‘n’ pony show Tony Khan is running here, but for the millionth time, Tanahashi! HE- But then Cole tells MJF to wait! Really think about the answer here. Cole knows MJF is trying to prove he’s not a coward, but… Oh, oh, wait. Wait, wait, wait! Cole hopes this isn’t because MJF thinks Tanahashi’s better than him. NO! MJF is the WORLD CHAMP! No one is better than him! But that’s what it sounds like, cuz otherwise MJF would just accept the match. MJF clearly thinks Tanahashi is better than him. MJF tells Cole to listen and listen good. No one on this planet is on the level of the Devil!
Cole counters with “COW~ARD! COW~ARD!” and the fans echo it. MJF gets frustrated, and he says FINE! TANAHASHI? You want MJF at Forbidden Door? YOU’RE ON!! There we go! That’s what Cole is looking for! the match is on! MJF VS Tanahashi for the AEW World Championship at Forbidden Door. And Cole will leave MJF with this: “Good luck, partner.” Cole goaded MJF into another match he didn’t want! Will the Ace of the Universe take that title away from Maxwell Jacob Friedman? And what about the chances of Cole & MJF in the Blind Eliminator Tournament?

The teams sort out and Shibata starts against ZSJ. Fans rally as the two circle and feel things out. They knuckle lock and the fans are already losing their minds seeing this dream showdown. They both go around, switch back and forth, and Shibata goes for a leg. Shibata trips ZSJ but ZSJ headscissor counters! Shibata fights up, pries free, but ZSJ dodges a Penalty Kick! Cassidy tags in, so ZSJ tags Garcia. Garcia and Cassidy approach, stare down, and fans rally up. Garcia puts up his dukes, but Cassidy raises his hands. To reach for his pockets! Garcia headlocks first! Cassidy pries at the hold but Garcia holds on tight. Cassidy throws Garcia down and has the legs! Cassidy is showing off his technical ability, but Garcia still powers him back to a cover, ONE! Garcia mounts Cassidy to slap him around, then he soaks up the heat. Garcia tells Shibata off, too, then eggs on Cassidy. Cassidy stands, and calls for a test of strength. Garcia obliges with the knuckle locks, and then Cassidy breaks one!
Cassidy CHOPS, but he shakes out that beat up hand of his. Cassidy goes to the corner, climbs up, and tightrope walks, but then Garcia yanks him down! Waistlock, SLAM, and Garcia floats all over Cassidy! Garcia then taunts the fans with that dance of his, only for Cassidy to roll him up! TWO!! Garcia escapes, and he ROCKS Cassidy in a corner! Garcia climbs up, taunts with that dance, then rains down fists! Garcia stops at five, soaks up more heat, then brings Cassidy up. Garcia headlocks, but Cassidy pries at the hold again. Garcia rushes in but backs off as Cassidy is ready to punch! Garcia tags ZSJ, so Cassidy backs up to tag Shibata! Dynamite returns to single picture as the fans fire up! Shibata and ZSJ tie up, ZSJ headlocks, and Shibata powers out. Shibata headlocks, hits a takeover, but ZSJ headscissors. Shibata moves around, headstands, and pops free to get a leg for a standing toehold. ZSJ rolls, reels Shibata in to cravat, then shifts to a cobra twist! Shibata switches it onto ZSJ! ZSJ wrenches to shift and IRON OCTOPUS! But Shibata powers out to have a leg! ANKLE LOCK, but ZSJ rolls free! The two stand off and fans cheer!
Garcia tags himself in and he gets in Shibata’s face. But Shibata ROCKS him again and again and again! Shibata UPPERCUTS Garcia, then looms over him. Garcia comes back to ROCK Shibata with a haymaker! Garcia headlocks, to then rake the eyes! The ref reprimands, Garcia says he didn’t do that, but Shibata staggers away and Cassidy tags back in. Garcia reaches out for ropes, but Shibata drags him back! ZSJ gets in to NECK TWIST Shibata! ZSJ talks smack on the fans, but Cassidy runs in! Cassidy ducks ‘n’ dodges and tilt-o-whirls to DDT! And kip up! But Garcia BOOTS Cassidy! And BOOTS Shibata! Garcia runs, to LARIAT! Shibata stays up!? Shibata roars, runs, BOOTS! Garcia roars, pie faces, runs, but into a BOOT! SLEEPER!! Winners: Zack Sabre Jr. & Daniel Garcia, by pinfall
Cassidy took out his own tag partner by accident, and that allows The Frontman & Dragonslayer to win! Garcia picks up the International Championship, but ZSJ also grabs hold of it. Shibata stands back up, and he glares at each man while grabbing at the belt, too. Cassidy returns, he grabs at his belt, but no one lets go. ZSJ and Garcia decide to go, but Shibata still holds on. Cassidy yanks the belt away! Everyone wants gold, and BREAKING NEWS! There will be a FATAL 4 WAY for the International Championship at Forbidden Door! Will we see a double champion crowned? Will Red Death defeat everyone? Or will Freshly Squeezed still be golden?
Backstage interview with Will Ospreay.
Alex Marvez was just waiting for a scoop, and here it is! Ospreay asks how Marvez is doing. Perhaps a bit better than Ospreay. Ospreay was on social media, disparages Canada, and yet his match with Kenny Omega at Forbidden Door is in Canada. What is he thinking? Aw mate, nothing keeps Ospreay up at night more than hearing “Ospreay Away.” The worst thing is, Ospreay is used to performing in civilized countries. England, Japan, but now he has to go to Canada? Have you seen what some of the fans are saying? They’re gonna bum rush the airport. AEW needs to get some serious security for him.
But in walks Don Callis. He tells “Sir William” that he hears him loud and clear. As a Canadian, Callis actually agrees with Will! Canada is dangerous, but AEW isn’t gonna help with security. Ospreay has so much heat in Canada because Omega has been inciting his fanbase towards violence. Ospreay needs special security in Toronto, “where people are violent, entitled cowards, just like Americans.” So when Callis goes to Canada, he isn’t the most popular chap, but he has his own military grade private security, which he will make available to Ospreay to see him to and from Toronto. Just Callis’ own personal favor.
And what’s in it for Callis? He just wants to see a fair fight. Good luck, get that 1-2-3. Dirty Don is helping the Commonwealth Kingpin, but are there really no strings attached?
AEW hears from Toni Storm and Willow Nightingale.
The AEW Women’s World Champion says, “Believe it or not, I do think that Willow Nightingale deserves to be the champion that she is. And the fans adore her for it, they love her. But I can see why: she’s commonfolk, she’s just like everyone else. She represents those people that I don’t. I don’t care about any of these people.” But the NJPW Strong Women’s Champion says, “Toni Storm is someone I’ve admired before I even came to All Elite Wrestling. I can’t say I love Toni’s character. I don’t think that I love her attitude. I don’t even think I like her work ethic and the way that she goes about professional wrestling. But I do respect the fight that she has in her.”
So if Toni wants to challenge Willow, Willow will meet Toni out there with honor and respect. Toni says she isn’t worried about what people have to say, especially not the likes of Willow. Toni doesn’t respect her opinion. And Willow should worry about what Toni is going to do to her. Don’t worry about attitude, worry about what happens at Forbidden Door. It will be Storm VS Willow for the AEW Women’s World Champion at Forbidden Door, will we see a double champion crowned here? Or will AEW still be on #ToniTime?

Taya forearms in return! Kris hits Taya, and hits her again! And again! And again! Taya wobbles, Kris puts her in a corner. Kris runs corner to corner to UPPERCUT! Kris goes side to side to KNEE LIFT! Kris then brings Taya around, hooks a leg, SPINNING FISHERMAN BUSTER! Cover, TWO!! Taya survives but Kris pounds the mat. Fans rally with Kris and she drags Taya back up. Gut wrench, but Taya fights it with elbows!
Taya wrenches to reel Taya in, underhooks and a lift, SIT OUT BUTTERFLY BOMB! Cover, TWO!! Taya is shocked! Taya gets the legs, turns Kris over, but fans rally up. Kris kicks free, ducks the Penalty Kick and rolls Taya up, TWO! DISCUS LARIAT!! Cover, TWO!! Taya survives and now Kris is frustrated! But the fans continue to rally, and Kris watches a dazed Taya sit up. Kris reels Taya back in, ROCKS her with forearms, then whips. Taya reverses, Kris dodges, both women run and Taya SPEARS!! Eddie Kingston is in the ring.
Fans cheer the Mad King as he gets a mic to say, “Yo! Thank you, thank you, thank you, I love it, I love it. But I gotta put a shirt on, folks, I just had surgery and I ate a lot of ice cream, so forgive me.” But he is out here because the Bucks & Omega decided to leave cuz he told them he doesn’t respect ’em. But c’mon, they’re cute, good guys, Eddie isn’t really sure. Anyway, there’s been a lot going on that Eddie doesn’t like and doesn’t agree with. Especially a certain somebody that’s supposed to be his homeboy who is a little mad that he’s teaming with The Bucks, who he doesn’t like nor respect.
But understand, Eddie just can’t stand Claudio at all. Fans cheer that! Eddie doesn’t care if he and Jon have a problem, cuz they- Wait! Here comes Moxley! The Maniac wants to hear this from his friend in person. Moxley gets in the ring, gets in Eddie’s face, and Eddie politely hands over the mic. Moxley says Eddie knows how this goes. “If they stand behind you, protect them. If they stand beside you, respect them. If they stand against you, destroy them!” Eddie is drawing a line at Forbidden Door. Eddie says MOX drew that line the minute he started teaming up with that scumbag! Moxley did that, not Eddie!
Eddie loves Moxley as a brother but Moxley decided to do that, not Eddie. Moxley says, “Every time…” Every time what?! Say it, Moxley! Say it! Every time what?! Moxley lowers the mic, fans chant for Eddie, but then Moxley puts his hands on Eddie’s shoulders. Eddie takes the mic back and says if Moxley ain’t gonna say it, fine, we ain’t got time for it. “Ladies and gentlemen, the fifth man is Ishii!” WHOA! The Stone Pitbull is joining the Mad King and the #HungBucks! And he’s here tonight!! Fans fire up, but then the BCC attacks Eddie! Claudio & Wheeler beat down Eddie while Moxley intercepts Ishii!
Ishii gets in, but Bryan gets after him now! The American Dragon was gonna call out Okada but he’s beating down one of Okada’s buddies instead! The brawl is going on, and Bryan gets the mic! “He’s not coming out! Okada, where are you!? Do you know what? If he’s not gonna come out, I’m gonna stomp Ishii’s face in!” Bryan gets the arms, but then the coin drops! Chicago erupts as the Rainmaker IS here!! And he goes right for Bryan! Everyone else clears out so that the two icons can stare down. Chicago is losing its mind, but we still have to wait for Forbidden Door. But then Yuta attacks Okada!
Fans boo and Bryan just soaks it up. Bryan tells Yuta to set Okada up for him and Yuta obliges. Bryan aims, runs in, but Okada moves and the BUSAIKU KNEE hits Yuta! Ripcord, RAIN- NO, Bryan dodges and then retreats! Bryan wags his finger, we still have to wait. Or do we? Okada hears the fans chanting his name, and he drags up Yuta! Ripcord and RAINMAKER for Yuta!! Okada stares down Bryan, the dream match is coming, but who comes out truly the best wrestler in the world?
My Thoughts:
A great episode for Dynamite that was just one of three go-homes going into Forbidden Door 2023. Great opener from Hardys VS Gunns that of course brought Bullet Club Gold and many others into this. Bullet Club Gold might as well make Gunns members at this rate, and they’re going to have a great match with Starks, Punk & FTR. I would think #AbsoluteCMFTR wins because duh, Punk. And great Concession Stand Brawl, but of course Triple J cheats. But I also like that it got even more overbooked with Papa Briscoe and the various Faces with ROH history helped Mark win and hopefully put this one away for good.
Great Six Man from “Le Suzuki Gods,” and I figured with them going up against Action, Fox & Darius, they would win. No real dissention between Sammy & Jericho here, maybe they save that for Forbidden Door. And as for who the third man for the other team, at this point it has to be Tetsuya Naito. LIJ was to team with Darby & Sting last time but COVID kinda messed some of that up, and also Naito has had feuds with Jericho and Suzuki, so he’s the perfect choice. That on top of Sammy breaking away from JAS, I would think Naito helps Sting & Darby win.
Great promo bit from MJF and Cole that also ties into the Blind Eliminator Tournament. MJF and Cole hate each other, and the easy solution is that they throw a match, but they don’t wanna do that because then it’d give someone a claim to MJF’s title. Though at the same time, Cole clearly doesn’t mind if Tanahashi takes that title since he suckered MJF into that match. MJF VS Tanahashi will be really good stuff, though I feel like MJF retains so that he and Cole can struggle through the tag tournament and lose at some point when MJF ditches Cole or Cole knocks out MJF so the other team can win big.
Awesome tag team match of Cassidy & Shibata VS ZSJ & Garcia, and what a big surprise that ZSJ & Garcia actually make it work so they win. And then a Fatal 4 Way for the International Championship is huge! I don’t know if we get a double champion, and I would say this is how they can get the belt off Cassidy, but I thought that with the Blackjack 21 Battle Royal. If nothing else, ZSJ isn’t going to move forward from this, he’s got Samoa Joe and the ROH World Television Championship to think about. Maybe it’ll be Garcia VS Cassidy in AEW and Garcia VS Shibata in ROH, and we see if Garcia stays a sports… enner-tay-ner through the Summer.
Great TBS Championship of Kris VS Taya, but I figured Kris would retain. A little surprised no one new showed up to call out Kris, even with just a stare down. But it’s AEW, they don’t do as much with the Women’s Division as they could, and they’re not bringing in Stardom wrestlers for Forbidden Door so Kris can just wait it out a few days. Good promo from Storm and Willow to hype up their match, and Storm will surely have Ruby Soho help her cheat to retain. Willow doesn’t need to be double champion, she has her belt and plenty of challengers waiting in Stardom to show up on NJPW Strong, or for her to show up on their events.
Great promos to help hype Forbidden Door, such as Blackpool Combat Club wanting a 5v5. This is almost a teaser for Blood & Guts, but we’re getting great team-ups between AEW and NJPW. Shota Umino has been more or less Face in NJPW but he’ll come into Forbidden Door as a Heel since he’s on Team BCC. Also good promo from Ospreay with Callis to form a loose alliance. United Empire & Swerve VS Chaos will be a good tune-up match that I would think the Heels win.
Eddie bringing in Ishii is a great move, and we got a great transition from Eddie announcing that to having Bryan call out Okada and Okada showing up for a show closing brawl. Okada stands tall here, but I can’t be sure he wins. Bryan could easily cheat and take that win so he can just inflate his ego all summer. As for BCC, Konosuke & Shota VS Eddie, Ishii & Hung Bucks, that could also go either way, but feels like if Bryan wins, BCC loses. If Bryan loses, BCC wins.
And great brackets for the Owen Hart Cup. Punk VS Kojima on Forbidden Door will be good but it’s a bit of a throwaway just so Punk moves ahead. Starks VS Juice, I feel like Starks overcomes that to meet old rival Hobbs. Then Strong VS Joe, that’s going to be awesome, and as much as I’d love to see Roddy get ahead, it feels like Punk VS Joe is happening. The women’s tournament has a good bracket, too, but Britt being back in it, possibly going back to back as Queen of Harts… Though at the same time, she’s taking on Ruby and the Outcasts could cheat her all the way to the finals.
Willow and Athena are also strong choices, but putting the Queen of Harts belt on someone who is already champion feels like a waste, because such a prize should be used as a springboard towards a title shot for like the AEW Women’s World or TBS title. The way AEW and ROH have been pushing Skye, she might be the one, winning it as the “underdog/dark horse” choice.
My Score: 8.8/10

The Death Riders speak.
It was after AEW Dynamite on Wednesday that Jon Moxley said, “Every time I step into the ring with Kyle O’Reilly, I can’t find a way to win. It’s been failure after failure after failure. Kyle O’Reilly has tapped me out, twice. Ipso facto, Kyle O’Reilly will be the new Continental Champion. You might think. But the Jon Moxley of six months ago is not the same as Jon Moxley of today. Who I will be tomorrow is better than who I am today. Logic and strategy would dictate that I should stay as far away from Kyle O’Reilly as I can. Because there’s no doubt about it, Kyle, you have my number.
The thing about this Continental Championship, it’s good bait. All the dragons I wanna slay come right to my door. I will do what I’ve done for 22 years surviving in this business, Kyle: I’m gonna find a way.” The Maniac heads out, and Claudio Castagnoli steps forward to tell Brody King that Brody always brings the bark. But if he steps in the ring with Claudio in the Owen Hart Tournament, he better bring the bite. Pac then says, “Nobody gets special treatment. It doesn’t matter who you are, Death Riders against the world.” Daniel Garcia says yeah, let’s get it! Yuta repeats, “Against the world.” Marina Shafir tells the world, “Bring it, you p*ssies!”

Well speaking of Kyle O’Reilly, he, Orange Cassidy, and the returning Mark Briscoe are going to put STP to the test! #TAIGASTYLE is still ROH Pure Champion, but Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo are upset after losing the ROH World Six Man Tag titles. Will STP take out their frustrations as they rumble, bad man, rumble? Or will the Violent Artist, Freshly Squeezed & Sussex County Chicken simply send #THEM home emptyhanded?
The trios sort out and Briscoe steps up against #BadNews&Tattoos. The fans are behind Briscoe as he and Bravo circle. They approach, Bravo kicks low, and he flips everyone off. The fans cheer Cassidy while Lee stumbles. Lee tags Dean, and now The Captain steps to Cassidy. Dean says go ahead, put the hands in the pockets. Cassidy says okay, and he raises his hands, to then slowly, slowly, put them in his pockets!

Cover, Briscoe breaks it! Bravo is upset, but he CLUBS Cassidy. Cassidy fights the suplex, Bravo CLUBS him again and again, then suplexes through! Cover, TWO! Cassidy toughs it out but Bravo drags Cassidy over to the corner.
Dean tags in, The Infantry stomps away on Cassidy, but the ref counts. Dean stops to kneel on Cassidy, then steps off again. Cassidy throws “shots” on the leg, but Dean stomps Cassidy down! Dean then BLASTS Briscoe & Kyle! The ref reprimands but that just lets Bravo CHOKE Cassidy! The ref reprimands Bravo now as Collision returns to single picture. Dean asks, “Is this camera on me? B! B! C!” BRONCO BUSTER CAPTAIN! Dean bounces, Bravo says if you see Cap in that corner, yo’ ass is a goner! Dean drags Cassidy up, tags Bravo, and Dean sends Bravo in for the SPLASH! Will Ospreay speaks.
It was also after Dynamite that The Aerial Assassin told Samoa Joe, “My apologies for not getting back to any of your messages, been a little bit busy training and getting myself ready for The Owen. Surprised to see you there in the opening round, mate. It’s gonna be a tough one. But if you can just bear with me for a hot second while I explain to you… Six months of my life got taken away from me, mate. Six months, I’ve been sitting in front of a TV screen, watching AEW, looking at it, trying to get my strength back in my arms, rushing to get back. That’s six months of frustration, six months of anger. And then I finally had my kill shot on Dynasty, and I lost.
“And ever since then, man, I’ve been struggling with my matches. Doc even stopped one for my own safety. I’m annoyed that I didn’t get revenge on Jon. But I’m more upset at the idea that I can’t be the guy that AEW put their trust in once upon a time. Regardless of how I feel about Jon, regardless of how I feel about The Death Riders, there’s nothing that I can say that’ll make people ever understand. But Jon Moxley is the Ace, he’s a soldier for this place. And while his methods might be sick, there are people who stand up to see him get elevated. So what could it happen with him in my corner?
“Joe, I’ve got nothing but respect for ya. Everything that you’ve done in this industry. Mate, you were in the match that made me want to become a pro-wrestler. But no one, no one, is stopping me from winning The Owen. And I find it very poetic that the man takt took away my old life has given me a second chance of capturing the world championship.” The Billy Goat is ready to become something more, but will Samoa Joe make sure Ospreay goes Double or Nothing and loses?

Backstage interview with Sammy Guevara.
Lexy Nair is with The Spanish God and brings up how he called out Darby Allin just last night at Supercard of Honor for the AEW World Championship. But just like last night, Sammy hushes “Chica” Lexy, and says, “Everybody’s Favorite Pillar is about to talk, so zip it and listen. Darby, I don’t need to call my shot against you because I looked through the history books, and history’s on my side. I’ve beaten you not once, not twice, not three times, I’ve beaten you four times. When I look at the history books, I’m a three-time TNT Champion while you, you’ve only held that belt twice.
“So I’m gonna beat you tonight like I’ve beaten you before. I’m gonna stamp my ticket to Double or Nothing, and MJF, I know you’re watching, you sociopath. I’m gonna beat you next week and I’m gonna shave you BALD! But don’t worry, I’ll give you a nice little fade. Because I am the best! I am the best wrestler, I am the best talker, I am the best this planet has! I’m the Spanish God, dammit! I’m number one, I’ve been here since day one, and there’s only one way this is gonna go: With me as the NEW AEW World Champion! Darby, your time is up, and my time is now. Because I am Numero Uno. That means ‘number one.'”
Sammy heads out, but is his big head only going to get in the way tonight?
Backstage interview with Darby Allin.
Collision returns and Lexy is now with said AEW World Champion. She brings up the five title defenses in 21 days, an AEW record! But tonight is number six against someone Darby’s known for a long time in Sammy Guevara. Darby says when he showed up today, he asked if anyone had seen MJF yet. Then he thought, “What a stupid question. Of course he’s not gonna be at Collision.” MJF is not a company man, he only cares about himself. And those same people asked back, why is Darby back? Why is Darby defending his title again? Double or Nothing is next Sunday, why is Darby risking losing this? Because Darby loves this!
And if there’s anyone in this company as crazy as Darby, it is Sammy Guevara. Darby loves it! Darby realizes this could all end tonight, and Speedball wants his match on Wednesday? Well, if Darby walks out here tonight, then on Dynamite, it’s Showtime! Darby thanks Lexy then heads back out. Will the Relentless Reign be an unstoppable one? Backstage interview with Anna Jay.
Lexy Nair is with the Queenslayer and commends her on that great return match against Willow Nightingale a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to stop the Comeback Killer. Anna gives all the respect to Willow, her moves hurt. Maybe Anna dove into the deep end, but she didn’t drown. So while Willow is still TBS Champion, maybe Willow isn’t quite the Comeback Killer. Anna came back, is still here, and there is still a lot left for them to do. And by that, she means her and Tay Melo! The besties reunite, and Tay says if Anna is back, and she is back, then there’s one thing they gotta do.
Anna tells if they wanna find out what that is, #JustTryUs! TayJay is back again, but are they going to fight their way right to the Divine Dominion’s tag titles?
AEW World Championship No Count Outs: Darby Allin VS Sammy Guevara!
The Relentless One may have gotten MJF to accept the Double or Nothing challenge, but he is always up for a fight! The Spanish God still has the ROH World Tag Team Championship around his waist, but he wants even more gold to show off to his wife and daughter! Who gets what they want tonight to then head for Queens, New York?
As he makes his entrance, Sammy brings a table out from under the ring and sets it up ringside, planning ahead for the wild fight he and Darby are about to have! The introductions are made, and Darby kneels down with the belt, only for Sammy to STOMP him into it!! The ref reprimands, the fans boo, but Sammy holds up the belt as if he’s already won it! COFFIN DROP!!! Cover, DARBY WINS!
Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)
As if his reign wasn’t wild and reckless before, Darby just doubled down with Sammy here tonight! And yet, he’s now set for a showdown with Speedball in Portland! Will no one and nothing stop Darby Allin from doing this again and again? Or is he about to write a check his body can’t cash?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision that not only fed Double or Nothing but did a great job following up ROH Supercard of Honor, assuring fans that ROH does matter after all, despite the lack of building contenders and therefore new champions. I mean, Athena is STILL champion, even when Survival of the Fittest was the best way to dethrone her while protecting her. But good interaction from Athena and Mina ahead of their Owen Hart Cup match, and if Athena is going to still be champion even now, she might as well just be a finalist already. On the other end, it’d be great if Willow also got to the finals to potentially be a two-time Queen of Harts.
Speaking of Willow, great promo with Conglomeration, great match with Red Velvet, but with Velvet still the ROH Women’s World TV Champion, it makes sense that Willow retains her title. Great Six Man Tag from Conglomeration VS Shane Taylor Promotions, and The Conglomeration’s win helps them build momentum towards all their stories. Very good promo from Kyle, very good promo from Death Riders, and I feel like Kyle should at least last the 20 minute time limit to earn his title match with Moxley for Double or Nothing. Meanwhile, Cassidy & Roddy are NOT winning against FTR, FTR has to settle things with Cope & Christian first.
Ciampa going after Briscoe, that whole brawl, and then Briscoe upping the ante for Dynamite, that No Disqualification match is going to be awesome. Very good tag match of Joe & Bowens VS Lethal & Lee, with a good win for The Opps. Very good promo from Joe & Bowens after, and a very good promo from Ospreay, too. Joe VS Ospreay could be a show stealer, but I would think Ospreay wins so that his story with The Death Riders can be part of the Owen Cup. TayJay being back together is great, and I can see them going right at Divine Dominion and easily lasting the five minutes to then earn their title match later on.
Great Six Man Tag of Davis & Dogs VS Rascalz, but with Stadium Stampede looming, naturally Davis & Dogs won to bring momentum for their team. I’d expect The Demand to have their own tune-up for the three-hour super show go-home next week, but they might’ve announced that tonight if that were the case. Very good promo from Lio Rush to further this Jekyll & Hyde/Smeagle & Gollum type of gimmick for him. For those who didn’t watch Supercard (or haven’t read my article on it), Action Andretti turned on Lio Rush and partially blamed Lio’s new dark side for it. RIP CRU, we hardly knew you, but Action VS this Lio is going to be great stuff between AEW and ROH programming.
And of course, another insane instant classic from Darby Allin as he and Sammy use No Count Outs to get hardcore. Good bit of selling from Darby to tease his body giving out on him, but naturally he wins out. They might do a similar spot during his match against Speedball on Wednesday to make it seem MJF has a chance of taking the title at Double or Nothing.
My Score: 8.9/10

MJF arrives backstage.
Renee Paquette is there to bring up tonight’s main event is Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW World Championship. If Darby Allin wins, MJF will then have to sign a contract for Title VS Hair at Double or Nothing. Darby has made it clear that if MJF doesn’t sign said contract, Darby will never allow MJF to face him for the title again. We all know how important the title is for MJF, but is MJF willing to put his hair on the line for it? MJF just chuckles and moves on, but he notices the very bald Rick Knox, Bryce Remsburg, and the head of security, David Aponte. And then various bald members of the production staff…
And then even Christopher Daniels & Sonjay Dutt are there! Daniels and Sonjay chuckle before moving on, and then MJF sees John Silver flexing. Brandon Cutler, some arena staff, and even Tommaso Ciampa, all bald. Then last but certainly not least, Ricochet! He tells MJF that don’t worry, he’ll look great. Just not as good as Ricochet. AHA~! MJF storms off, will he have no choice but to choose between gold belt and chrome dome?
10 Man Tag: Orange Cassidy, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage & The Young Bucks VS Tommaso Ciampa, David Finlay, Clark Connors & FTR w/ Stokely Hathaway!
While we know the AEW World Tag Team Championship match will be a conglomeration of I Quit Match and New York Street Fight, THE Conglomeration will be waiting on the other side for their own tag title match. And let’s not forget that Matt & Nick Jackson want their own shot at those titles again. With that, can Freshly Squeezed work together with C&C and The Bucks? The fans fire up again, and The Bucks see C&C. They point to Christian, and the fans cheer! Christian steps in, the ref reprimands but Cope argues with the ref. This distraction lets Christian LOW BLOW Cash! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for Cash! Christian covers, TWO! Cash survives, the fans boo, but Christian rains down fists while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Christian puts Cash in the corner to CHPO, CHOP, and then rain down fists! Christian goes past TEN, maybe to fifteen, then stops. Cash sputters, Stoke talks trash, but Christian grabs Stoke! Cash CLUBS Christian, Ciampa HOTSHOTS the bad arm, and Ciampa hurries to tag in. Ciampa drags Christian around, SLAMS the bad arm off the mat, then SLAMS the arm again! Ciampa POSTS Christian, and Christian falls to the apron. The ref keeps his eyes on the rest of the team so they stay back. Ciampa goes out, and he SWINGS the bad arm into the post! Christian scrambles away, clutching the arm, but Ciampa taunts Cope with a wave.
Ciampa tags Connors, Connors tags Finlay, and The Dogs stomp away on Christian. Finlay clamps onto the bad hand, bends the fingers, then JAMS them into the mat! Another star-studded 10 Man Tag, and it was a huge win for all the hungry contenders. Christian doesn’t wanna celebrate, but he does signal that he and Cope will be champions. Will putting their tag team legacy on the line be enough to take the gold? Or will Double or Nothing be the last night that team reeks of awesomeness?
Will Ospreay continues to train with The Death Riders.
They’re outside this time, Claudio Castagnoli playing some wall ball with Marina Shafir and Pac. Daniel Garcia says, “Tonight is the night that we’ve all been waiting for: The Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, is cleared and back on Dynamite. And rumor has it, the kid’s been working real hard and he’s got some new tricks up his sleeves. So Young Boy Billy, tonight you gotta show me something, c’mon.” Garcia gets a quick turn in on wall ball while cameras move over. Ospreay is maintaining a neck bridge while Jon Moxley uses Wheeler Yuta as a living dummy to show just how to push and pull and bend and twist on the various chinlocks and headlocks.
Use the right arm to push against the head, then snake in the left arm for the sleeper. Pry and shoot. Moxley asks how Ospreay feels. Ospreay lets off the bridge and says honestly, the best he’s felt in forever. Moxley asks if Ospreay remembers the night he won the Best of the Super Juniors. Yeah, 2019. AKA a lifetime ago. Ospreay was carefree, flew like a bird, for no other reason than that’s just what birds do. So simple back then, chasing that feeling, like no other feeling in the world. Can’t really grab it in your hands for more than a few seconds. The joy of doing it. Then everybody comes in and tries to make it so overcomplicated.
Years pass, life happens, a family starts, responsibilities show up, bad things happen, bad choices catch up to you, and it’s all weight on your shoulders. You feel like you can’t fly. But Moxley will tell you something: Nothing is different. Nothing has changed. All those things are still gonna be there, but you can still fly. You’re just more dangerous now. You’re a bird of prey. So tonight, when you got out there, don’t go out there to protect anything. Not your neck, your image, your reputation, or what you’ve built in your career. Go out there to give something. Moxley checks on Yuta and says dammit, if you’re gonna snap a headlock, snap the headlock!
Moxley storms off to instruct his pupil, but will Ospreay use everything he has been taught to great effect? Or will he have to fold against Ace Austin?
Chris Jericho speaks.
“You wanna face Jericho in a match of my own design, Ricochet? A spectacle so innovative, so imaginative, it cannot be contained, it can only be witnessed. Well, be careful what you demand, because you’ve made a few enemies yourself, Ricochet. And now a match designed specifically to settle scores without any, and I mean AAANY~, limitations has gotten even bigger.” Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate were just looking for two more, but “Jungle” Jack Perry said he can bring four: himself, The Young Bucks, and KENNY OMEGA! Jericho tells Ricochet that this is no longer what he designed, but it is a devil’s dance of destruction! Ricochet’s destruction!
Ricochet got what he wanted, now can he handle it? Bald. The first-ever SEVEN VS SEVEN Stadium Stampede, who will even survive?
Ricochet & The Demand respond.
They stand with Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family and Ricochet says we all know Jericho does a lot of talking out of his ass while The Demand gets things done. Just like Davis did when he defeated Jack for the AEW National Championship at Fairway to Hell. Hold it with pride, Davis, Ricochet knows you’ll do it well. Davis says he’s got this. Ricochet says Davis has joined the dream team, but he’s not the only one. Because compliments to Ricochet’s golfing buddy, Don Callis, look who else he’s sending: Andrade El Idolo! Gracias, amigo. But it doesn’t stop there, the train keeps rolling. Ricochet was just approached by two guys who have an ax to grind with the superkick sidekicks.
These two wanna fill out the last two spots, so who is Ricochet to say no to The Dogs? Finlay & Connors storm in, and Finlay says to put it simple, they will fight The Bucks in the streets, in the ring, but guess it’s fighting at Double or Nothing! If they want violence, if they want carnage, if they want chaos, who better than The Dogs?! The Dogs bark and Liona roars, but will these seven stand tall in the Big Apple?
“Speedball” Mike Bailey w/ Kevin Knight VS BK Westbrook!
JetSpeed has a lot of momentum on their side, and as stated last week at Fairway to Hell, they’re looking to grab up all the gold they can. Will Speedball keep on rolling towards his own golden opportunity? Or will #Supastud prove his own worth?
The bell rings and the fans rally as the two step up. Bailey bows in respect, offers a handshake, but Westbrook goes to roll Bailey up! Bailey stays on his feet, then steps over to sit down on a cover, TWO! Westbrook ducks a Penalty Kick, avoids the moonsault, and the sweep! Bailey dodges, Westbrook tiger feints through the ropes, but Bailey handsprings up and over! The fans fire up as Bailey ducks an elbow to whip. Westbrook goes up, around, but kinda fumbles his tumble. The fans cheer and jeer him for his attempt, but Westbrook blocks the boot! Westbrook FLIPS Bailey, springboards in, but Bailey dodges! TIME ADVENTURE!
Bailey pushes Westbrook down, goes up the corner, and the fans fire up for the ULTIMATE WEAPON! Cover, Bailey wins!
Winner: Mike Bailey, by pinfall
Another fast ‘n’ furious finish, and Bailey’s on a hot streak! But now, the other side of JetSpeed looks to keep it up! But just who is Kevin Knight defending the TNT Championship against? It’s… BRIAN CAGE!? The Machine finally returns to action, and he has the Don Callis Family with him! Will Cage be able to ground Knight and take this title back to the family?
AEW TNT Championship Open Challenge: Kevin Knight w/ “Speedball” Mike Bailey VS Brian Cage w/ The Don Callis Family!
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who betta!

He could’ve been with the team that would do nothing but support and enhance Ospreay, but he decided to be a lapdog for Moxley and the Death Riders. The fans boo, Ospreay says he’s not a Death Rider.
Joe says Ospreay has made his choice, and come Double or Nothing, Joe makes Ospreay suffer the consequences. But Joe leaves Ospreay in peace tonight, for he has his date with destiny. But unfortunately, Joe’s friends, Katsuyori Shibata & Anthony Bowens, still feel slighted, and he doesn’t put leashes on his friends. Shibata & Bowens storm down the ramp, Ospreay ready to fight them both if he has to. But then The Death Riders appear! Ospreay may not have officially joined the club, but the Death Riders aren’t going to let their investment go to waste! The Opps say they’re #NeverLacking, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now!
Shibata & Bowens back down while Moxley, Marina, Claudio, Yuta, Garcia & Pac all step up to support Ospreay. Joe says, “Soon. Soon.” The fans cheer the Death Riders, or at least Moxley, but Bowens promises Joe is gonna kill you, Ospreay! The dream match for Double or Nothing is on, but will the training with The Death Riders make Ospreay the new King of Harts?

Backstage interview with Don Callis & Konosuke Takeshita.
Renee is now with The Invisible Hand & The Alpha, saying tonight is a huge opportunity in the main event, Konosuke facing Darby Allin for THE AEW World Championship. Konosuke could be heading into Double or Nothing as a- Callis stops Renee there to say Konosuke will be heading into Double or Nothing as a DOUBLE champion! But then MJF steps in, apologizes for the interruption but says Renee’s doing a great job. The Scumbag tells Konosuke that while it’s been a minute since the two of them have talked, three years actually, back when MJF beat him… MJF has seen Konosuke develop into truly one of the best wrestlers in the world!
MJF believes that tonight, Konosuke beats Darby for the title, goes to DON to beat Okada, and MJF can’t think of a better match than Konosuke VS MJF Part 2 for the world title. How’s that sound? MJF offers a handshake, Konosuke shakes his hand, but in Japanese, Konosuke tells MJF that he’ll beat the crap out of him. Thankfully, MJF doesn’t know Japanese. Callis says that was a nice pep talk MJF just gave, and MJF says yes, he knows. That kid needs to win, okay? MJF can’t let Darby turn him into some disgusting, bald freak! No offense, Callis looks great. But look, there is only one foolproof way to know MJF won’t be put in that situation.
So if things get hairy… MJF hands over the Dynamite Diamond Ring! Callis smiles, and say she understands what to do with it. But then in steps Andrade. El Idolo takes off his hat to shake out his amazing head of hair, and smiles at MJF. MJF frowns and leaves. Callis says here’s the deal: Takeshita will bring the world title home to the Don Callis Family tonight! Andrade asks, “How you know?” Callis says aye dios mio, he seriously doesn’t know where Andrade learned English. Andrade says one way or another, the next time, that will be HIS title. Callis says yes, he knows, it’s all good. Callis is a man of many talents, but will his family be dripping with gold thanks to a diamond ring?

But it seems that there is even more business to attend to. Cassidy says yes, the team has a shot at THE AEW World Tag Team Championships. It doesn’t matter who it is, they’re getting their shot, but the thing is… They still haven’t decided on which two will be. Kyle says Cassidy & Roddy should go for the gold, but Roddy shouts, “KYYYLE~! Thank you.” Kyle says of course. But that’s cuz he’s got gold to chase for himself!
The same man that put Kyle on the shelf for months is the man that Kyle submitted twice, and will submit again. Jon Moxley, Continental Champion, when are we doing this? Willow says speaking of gold, she is still the TBS Champion. But she is also in the Owen Hart Cup. She won this tournament before, she’ll do it all over again, so that she can have all the gold for herself at All In: London. She knows she can, and she will! Then Conglomeration has it all in order? Cassidy says hold on, there’s something missing. They should do a Word of the Day. Why haven’t they done one in so long? Roddy shouts for “MAAARK~!” And yes, Mark Briscoe returns!
The Sussex County Chicken is all fired up, and he says the Word of the day is reunification! For Mark Briscoe is back with his boys and his girls, The Conglomeration! But he’ll put this plain and simple: Tommaso Ciampa! Next Wednesday, Briscoe’s after your ass, son! You hear him? But before that, Saturday Night Collision is in HIS hometown, Salisbury, Maryland! That’s just 4.4 miles from where Briscoe originated on this earth! They’re gonna conglomerate and it’s gonna be a a hell of a time! Are you ready!? Willow and Kyle are fired up, Briscoe goes wild, and the team heads out. Cassidy admits, that was a lot of yelling.
But while The Conglomeration is ready to go Double or Nothing, will they soon have even more gold in the collection? Or are these high and lofty a little too much even for them?

The ref hurries to check Darby but Callis tells Doc Sampson to call it. Darby is somehow still in this, so Konosuke storms his way over. Konosuke drags Darby up, puts him in the ring, then paces around him. Konosuke runs the ropes to LARIAT! Darby flips inside-out, Konosuke covers him, TWO!! Darby still has fight inside but he’s also dazed. Konosuke clamps onto Darby with a chinlock and squeezes tight. Darby endures, even as Konosuke leans on him with his much-taller frame. Darby reaches out, fights around, and rises up, only for Konosuke to CANADIAN RACK BOMB! Darby sputters all over again while Dynamite returns to single picture.
Konosuke sits back as he watches Darby crawl to the apron. Konosuke storms his way over, but Darby RAMS low! Slingshot sunset flip, but Konosuke rolls through! Only for Darby to kick the legs out! Darby catches Konosuke to a GUILLOTINE! Konosuke endures the squeeze, fights up to his feet, and he powers out to THROW Darby! Darby lands out, fires shots, and RAMS low! Darby then hops on, but Konosuke stops Code Red! Konosuke swings Darby around, tucks him in, BASTARD DRIVER! And WHEELBARROW GERMAN! The fans fire up and Callis says that’s true power! Darby sputters again and Konosuke vows to end this.
Konosuke runs corner to corner, HELLUVA KICK!! Then he hoists Darby up top, climbs up after him, and goes to the very top! The fans freak out already for the SUPER DUPER GERMAN SUPLEX!! Bridging cover, TWO!!! Callis is freaking out as much as the fans, and he protests the count! Konosuke is furious, but he aims for the WAGAMAMA KNEE!!! Cover, TWO?!?! Darby survives by nanoseconds, and Konosuke is beside himself! “This is Awesome!” but now CLØN rushes out here! He distracts the ref, and Callis hurries to take the Dynamite Diamond Ring off his finger to put it in Konosuke’s hands! Konosuke thinks about it, but The Alpha has honor!
The fans cheer as Konosuke wants to do this his way! But then Darby runs up, cradles, TWO!! Konosuke escapes, ALPHA ELBOW!! Darby is down, dazed, but still moving! Konosuke drags Darby up again, goes back to the corner and back to the top rope. The fans hope these two “FIGHT FOREVER!” but it has to end somehow! Darby fights against the lift with headlock punches! Then he hops on, SUPER CODE RED!! Konosuke staggers up, Darby leg scissors, steps through, LAST SUPPER!! TWO?!?! Konosuke escapes again, then bails out! So Darby just goes up top! SUPER COFFIN DROP!! Direct hit and both men are down again!
The fans are thunderous as Konosuke and Darby stir. A ring count climbs, Callis complains that some people just gotta follow directions and run the play! Coach Callis pulled Konosuke outta obscurity, Konosuke would do anything! Now he’s got some gold, some fame, and gets a mind of his own! Callis complaining aside, the ring count is climbing! Darby drags himself in at 9, but Konosuke YANKS him back out! That refreshes the count, and Konosuke vows to end this for real now. Konosuke points to the steel steps, and he drags Darby up onto them with a deadlift RAGING- NO, Darby knees Konosuke, turns things around, and FULL METAL SCORPION DEATH DROP!!!
The fans go nuts again while Konosuke writhes! Konosuke flops off the steps, Darby crawls into the ring, and Darby just climbs the corner again! SUPER DUPER COFFIN DROP!!! Konosuke might be unconscious! Darby still hauls Konosuke into the ring, pushes him to a cover, TWO?!?!? Konosuke survives and Darby is furious! But Darby just reloads, COFFIN DROP but onto knees!!! Ghost pin, TWO!!! Darby escapes but the WAGAMAMA KNEE finds him!! Konosuke hauls Darby up, but Darby pops free! Trip, step through, and SCORPION DEATH LOCK!!! Konosuke endures, reaches out, but Darby sits deep!!
Callis says don’t even think about it! Konosuke almost does, but he bites his own thumb to ignore the pain in his back! Konosuke reaches out, crawls his way forward, and he fights to the ROPEBREAK!!! But Darby is right up top! COFFION DROP on the back!! Then Darby goes right back up, COFFIN DROP again!!! Cover, DARBY WINS!!
Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)
Callis is steaming, but Darby overcomes Konosuke to avenge that loss in the Continental Classic! But it also took so much out of him just to do it! Darby still asks for a mic and one is brought to him. Darby sits up against the ropes, has them cut his music, and he tells MJF to get his ass out here! There’s a contract MJF needs to sign! The ring crew hurries to bring in a table and some chairs for that very contract signing, and MJF makes his entrance. MJF reluctantly makes his way down the ramp, and both men meet at the table. Darby grins with blood still in hiss teeth, and he signs his part of the contract without hesitation, unlike MJF.
The fans already chant “BALD! BALD! BALD!” at MJF, and Darby pushes the contract to his side of the table. MJF grabs the pen, reaches out, but then steps away. MJF scratches his chin as he thinks on this, and the fans just chant, “BALD! BALD! BALD!” again. MJF takes a mic to say he’ll explain something to Darby, looking like he has rabies. But see, MJF is happy for Darby, he hopes Darby’s had fun holding MJF’s AEW World Championship. The fans boo that, but MJF says deep down, there is a small part of him, like the size of a North Carolinian p*nis small. That small part of MJF feels bad for Darby, because he’ll never hold this again!
Darby’s got about a good a chance of holding this title as Hangman Adam Page does again. MJF says guys like Darby are a dime a dozen, here today and gone tomorrow, stuntmen who burn the candle at both ends. In this life, people like all these fans here like to pretend that life is about making friends and family and children. The only thing that matters in life is your legacy. And Darby’s legacy will be that of the kid who had his 15 minutes of fame. They’ll pretend like Darby made a lasting impact, but the fact of the matter is, he hasn’t. He hasn’t! They’ll know deep down that Darby Allin was just a little pr*ck who got lucky.
They’ll know that Darby was too reckless and stupid to stay on top. And after May 24th, Double or Nothing, in that sh*thole of Queens, New York, y’know what MJF’s legacy will be? He’ll go down as the guy who became a THREE-TIME World Champion at just 30 years of age, unprecedented in this sport. And MJF will go down, when it’s all said and done, as the Greatest of All Time! THAT is the difference between them! Darby Allin brags about climbing a mountaintop. But when it comes to professional wrestling, Maxwell Jacob Friedman IS the mountaintop! The fans boo but MJF soaks it up. Darby tells MJF to SHUT UP!
Only someone like MJF who is so vain would think that the number one most important thing in this world is his legacy. Darby doesn’t care about legacy, he cares about living in the moment! And in this moment, Darby just wants MJF to sign the contract. Then at Double or Nothing, Darby makes Maxwell Jacob Friedman a BALLD HEADED B*TCH!! MJF frowns but the fans cheer that! MJF grabs the pen again, and with no choice, he signs on the dotted line! Then he TACKLES Darby! The fans boo as MJF beats up Darby after the war he went through with Konosuke! MJF CHUCKS an armchair outta the ring, FLIPS the table, then picks up his Dynamite Diamond Ring.
MJF puts the ring on his finger like always, then winds up to DECK Darby!! The fans boo but MJF just soaks it all up. MJF throws off his jacket, picks up the belt, and he stands over Darby with it. But then MJF isn’t done with Darby, he puts Darby on the top rope! MJF climbs up to join him, and drags Darby into position! But wait! Kevin Knight runs out here to chase MJF off! The Jet still owes The Scumbag a receipt, but it seems we’ll all have to wait on that. Will MJF still take back the title at Double or Nothing? Or will Darby keep the belt and take MJF’s dignity?
My Thoughts:
An awesome episode for Dynamite as things heat up towards Double or Nothing. Awesome 10 Man Tag to open, great win for the Faces, not that it added much to FTR VS C&C. Good promo from Jericho to look back on Stadium Stampede and hype up this year’s match. Good promo from The Demand with Davis and The Dogs, and I suppose this maximizes the feuds as well as the alliances throughout the locker room. Who knows who wins but the match will still be awesome, just as the original was. Good promo from Conglomeration, too, Cassidy & Roddy going after FTR while Kyle VS Moxley happens on the side, that’s great stuff.
Speaking of Moxley, great promo from him and Ospreay. Moxley’s semi-turn has really brought out his sage philosophical side. Great match from Ospreay VS Ace, and while Ospreay could always bring out his aggression, seeing him use more technical wrestling and even winning with a submission is good stuff. Good promo from Joe, and I liked Death Riders backing Ospreay up. Very good Owen Hart Cup brackets this year, Joe VS Ospreay is a great choice given this story, but I would think Ospreay wins that one. Good promo from Jack Perry to call out Davis, and I suppose Jack can win in the Owen Cup to then move on from the National title.
Great seeing Brian Cage back, he gave Knight an awesome match, but with JetSpeed wanting to go on a Two Man Power Trip, it makes sense Kevin won out. Same for Bailey beating Westbrook, even though Westbrook maybe went too hard on his own acrobatic escape. Great stuff in the Six Woman Tag, and I appreciate Shida didn’t ditch until after the match. Willow, Mina & Rosa might get their own Six Woman Tag with Triangle of Madness after that interaction, but also can’t wait to see if Willow can go back-to-back as Queen of Harts. For that matter, I personally would love to see Athena use the Owen Cup to move on from being ROH Women’s World Champion, but that depends on how Supercard of Honor goes this Friday.
And of course, another wild instant classic from Darby as he overcomes Takeshita. I knew the diamond ring would come into play with that reverse effect, good way of protecting Takeshita in the loss. Good stuff with MJF tonight, too, such as the opening segment’s parade of bald men to send the message to MJF. That was also a unique contract signing segment in that it came together so quickly after the main event match. Good stuff from MJF as always, and of course he attacks Darby. I feel like either Knight should not have made the save, or both parts of JetSpeed should’ve made the save. It just seems odd that only Knight cared about saving Darby. The closing moment was much better when it was MJF standing over Darby with the belt.
My Score: 9/10
