As announced on the official HPW Insta, Midna puts up both belts in one match! Who will control both the Women’s and Open Divisions after the Clash?

The Hyrule Warriors are assembling.

We know from Dark Horse Stampede just over two weeks ago that The Grim Creeper, Thunderbird, Freezlord, Dinalfos AND Yunobo are all going into the 33 person battle royal, leaving 28 names still to be a surprise. Who will step into Hyrule Coliseum hoping to win that golden ticket to HyruleMania 4? And who will they meet for the Triforce Championship on New Year’s Eve?

Aveil & The Gerudo Sisterhood prepare.

Shabonne hypes up the Desert Flower as she trains to face Kage at Clash of Fates for the HPW Triforce Championship. Aveil does squats with a 50 kilogram slab in her arms. Shabonne shouts, “Gerudo’s are legit!” The group responds, “SA’OTEN!” “Gerudo’s have grit!” “SA’OTEN!” “Gerudo’s don’t quit!” “SA’OTEN!” Shabonne has Aveil say it back. “Gerudo’s are legit!” “SA’OTEN!” “Gerudo’s have grit!” “SA’OTEN!” “Gerudo’s don’t quit!” “SA’OTEN!” Shabonne then tells Aveil to prove it! Aveil pops the 50kg slab up to POWERBOMB down! 50kg is 110 pounds, lighter than Kage, so Shabonne has Aveil move up.

60 kg/132 pounds! Aveil carries that stone up a sand dune then GERMAN SUPLEXES it away! 70kg/154 pounds! Aveil carries it on her shoulder as she jogs a few laps around the ring. Then she dumps the slab outta the ring! 80kg/176 pounds! Aveil gets it up with a deadlift and GUT WRENCH SUPLEX! 90kg/198 pounds, the closest to Kage’s 200 pound muscular frame. Aveil strains a bit to lift the slab, but Shabonne tells her not to give up! Aveil tries another deadlift gut wrench, and spins to use the momentum in another GUT WRENCH SUPLEX! The Gerudo Sisterhood is all fired up now!

Aveil shouts, “Gerudo’s are legit!” “SA’OTEN!” “Gerudo’s have grit!” “SA’OTEN!” “Gerudo’s don’t quit!” “SA’OTEN!” “And that means there’s no stopping me from treating Kage like a slab! I am going to be the first Gerudo Triforce Champion!” “SA’OTEN!” “I am going to be the first female Triforce Champion!” “SA’OTEN!” “And I am going to face one of my vais at HyruleMania after they win the Hyrule Warriors match.” The others nod and say, “Yeaaaah~!” Then together, they all wave to the camera and say “Sav’orrrq~! (Goodbyeee~!)” Will the Gerudo Sisterhood soon stand atop HPW?

My Thoughts:

A formality article here to hype up Clash of Fates on Halloween, as is the tradition. I did make that Instagram post weeks ago, probably could’ve been more patient with that but I really liked how the artwork turned out. I would’ve made something like that for the five Dark Horses but I should’ve realized with Grim Creeper and Freezlord coming from the more child friendly, cartoonish looking Zelda games, and then Thunderbird the character being a Rito luchador and not the horrifying bird monster from The Legend of Zelda II (where things were either pixels or scans from the artbook anyway), that wasn’t going to work out.
