Khan takes a cue from Naito by taking his time with putting aside his entrance attire. Khan carefully places down his shirt, and Naito finally puts the pants away. The bell rings and the fans are strongly dueling already! Naito assesses that the “NA-I-TO!” only has a small lead over the “O-KHAN! O-KHAN!” Wait, that lead seems to be shifting. Khan and Naito circle, feel things out, but Naito just leans back against ropes. Khan backs away and Naito returns. They circle again, feel things out, but Naito plays coy so Khan steps back now. The fans rally, the two circle, then approach, and Naito rolls Khan up! TWO!

The fans cheer, Red Shoes reprimands, but Khan pulls Naito’s arms back! Red Shoes counts, so Khan lets go, and JUMPING MONGOLIAN CHOPS Naito on the back! Naito bails out, Khan pursues, and the fans rally.

Khan whips but Naito reverses, and Khan hits railing hard! Khan writhes on the floor, but Naito drags him up to whip him hard into more railing! Khan hangs over the side but then falls back. The fans cheer, Red Shoes counts, and Khan lets go at 4.

Khan keeps hold of the legs to KNEE them again and again! Deep cover, TWO! Khan YANKS the legs, then covers, TWO! Naito shows that world champion toughness but the fans still rally behind “O-KHAN! O-KHAN!” Khan SMASHES Naito’s knee into the mat! Naito clutches the leg but Khan paces around. Khan KNEES the leg, then he drags Naito around. Khan stomps the leg again and again, and the fans continue to rally.

Naito manages to stand and fire forearms! Khan just kicks the bad leg! Khan puts Naito on ropes, to then DRAGON SAYANAGI the leg! Khan ties the legs up in a deathlock, and he pulls on this modified Calf Killer! Naito endures, Khan shifts around, and he puts as much pressure as he can on the legs. Khan then grabs the arms, for a QUEEN ANGELITO STRETCH! Naito endures, but he has no limbs to fight free with! Khan paces while Naito writhes. Naito pushes himself up, but Khan grabs the leg! Naito CLUBS away on Khan, so Khan ROCKS Naito with a right! Khan then reels Naito in for the SHIN- ARM-DRAG! Naito arm-drags Khan, ELBOWS him down, then basement dropkicks! The fans cheer, and Naito brings Khan up. Naito whips Khan to a corner, then ELBOWS him again.

Naito puts Khan in the ropes, brings him out, for a DRAPING NECKBREAKER! Then Naito turns Khan, holds him, and hits a standard NECKBREAKER! The fans cheer as Naito poses. Naito then covers, TWO! The dueling continues between “NA-I-TO!” and “O-KHAN!” as we pass 10 minutes. Naito cravats for another neck wrench but Khan fires body shots. Khan MONKEY FLIPS Naito, then brings him up for a SAYANAGI! And then another SAYANAGI! Cover, TWO!

Khan shifts right around to a KNEEBAR! Naito endures, grabs at Khan and tries to pry the hold open but Khan puts on more pressure! Khan’s grapevine of the leg even allows him to push Naito’s other leg away, it’s a kneebar spladle combo! The fans rally as Naito endures, and he moves around. Khan pulls on the bad leg, but Naito reaches out for the ROPEBREAK! The fans cheer while Khan lets go cleanly. Khan drags Naito back, has the leg, but Naito rolls through the kneebar! Khan RAMS into Naito, but Naito stifles the takedown! Naito CLUBS Khan, and TORNADO DDTS! The fans fire up while both men are down!

The fans rally, and Naito crawls over to Khan by the ropes. Naito drags Khan up, and he throws those heavy elbows! Khan sits down in the corner, so Naito climbs up. Naito brings Khan up by his ponytail, to ESPERANZA! Khan tumbles forward, and Naito takes aim! CORRIENDO- NO, Khan dodges! GERMAN SUPLEX! But Naito rises! Only to run into a leg scissor takedown and KNEEBAR!! Naito flails, but Khan shifts around to tie up the legs. Khan rolls to have an inverted figure four heel hook hybrid! Naito endures being upside-down and twisted, but he grabs at Khan’s legs to pry at this hold!

The fans rally and duel as Khan thrashes the leglock around! The “NA-I-TO!” gets stronger, and Naito fights his way forward, only for Khan to pull on the legs! Red Shoes checks with Naito but Naito still fights as we hit 15 minutes, and he has the ROPEBREAK! Khan lets go in frustration but the fans continue to duel. Khan watches Naito writhe, then watches as he rises up. Khan BOOTS the bad leg! Khan then drags Naito up to KICK the leg! Winner: Great-O-Khan, by pinfall (gains 2 points; Naito earns 0)

The entire crowd erupts! The KOPW Champion just defeated the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion!! The Dominator’s Eliminator truly ELIMINATES Naito from the playoffs!! Naito ends at 5-4, will those four losses come back to haunt him all the way to WrestleKingdom?

As for Khan, he takes a moment to stand over Naito as the victor, then puts his KOPW Championship on. Khan gets the mic while the fans cheer for him, and Khan says, “As you please. Bow down, you Nagaoka peasants! This G1, We (the royal ‘we’ aka Khan) never had a semi-final or main event. They didn’t expect much of Us. After four losses, they didn’t think We had a chance. Some reporter from a rag threw Us under the bus. And the haters piled on to spit on Our name! But do not underestimate Us! We will always turn things around! Reversals? Counters? That’s what the Empire is all about!” The fans cheer that!

Khan then says he realized something about the G1 that he didn’t before. Khan hated pro-wrestling at one point. But now, he’s having fun! The fans also cheer that! Khan vows not to lose again! The fans cheer that, too! Khan vows to “dominate the G1 and the world of professional wrestling! This is the Fate/Grand Order sponsored, Gee Store endorsing, KOPW Champion, Great-O-Khan’s power! HAIL US, PEASANTS!” Mic drop and crowns up, but will Khan soon be holding up the G1 Climax trophy?

My Thoughts:

Another great round for the G1, and a great finale to A Block’s round robin phase. Callum VS Gabe was great, even though there were no stakes. ZSJ and Sanada had another great match in their storied rivalry. ZSJ winning made sense, it solidified him as the first seed while clearing the way for Takagi. Takagi got a great win off Jake, and his win therefore put the pressure on the final two matches. I feel like they really piled on the overbooking from The House of Torture to make Shota look incredible in his win. And I’m personally very thankful they didn’t have Evil advance, he would just keep bringing the same shenanigans into the playoffs and we don’t need that.

It all coming down to Naito VS Khan was great stuff, and was pretty much indicated by the match order. I do feel Naito could’ve sold bad leg better, namely after Khan’s unique figure four ankle lock hold. But the fans in Nagaoka were strongly behind Khan and his winning out was awesome. Takagi VS Khan will be our A Block Wild Card, and I feel it could go either way, as we could get great stuff out of both options, ZSJ VS Takagi and ZSJ VS Khan.

My Score: 8.9/10

Best of the Super Juniors 33 B Block: SHO VS Yoshinobu Kanemaru!

Wait, wait, wait. Douki choosing to stay out of this tournament is one thing, but the Murder Machine and Heel Master facing each other in the first round? Well, the fix is in already, but who will help the other get an easy win?

Well, since they’re both House of Torture, no one attacks the other. And it seems they’re both out here alone, if only for now. Wait, Sho grabs the mic. “This is a battle of two of the absolute best Junior Heavyweights. And it is a disgrace that this incredible match is only second on the card. The power balance of this division is so screwed up. But to make sure this makes everyone regrets this, Kanemaru-san, you and I are gonna have the best match of this entire tournament! And we know we’re not coming out of this unscathed. This will be a Match of the Year contender!

“And all these country bumpkins in Tokyo will see the best match of their entire lives, even though they don’t deserve it! This should be in the Tokyo Dome with a minimum buy-in of 100 MILLION Yen! Kanemaru-san, I don’t want to hurt you. But let’s have a great match, and as your kouhai, you’ll do me a solid and lie down.” Kanemaru agrees to a fair match, the two “put one out” together, and then the bell rings. The ref is blinded, Sho laughs at them both, and Sho says that should be a disqualification, right? IT IS!

Winner: Sho, by disqualification (gains 2 points; Kanemaru earns 0)

Kanemaru is mad at the ref and TOSSES him out! Poor Sakamoto… Sho apologizes to Kanemaru now, but they were both playing dirty anyway. They fist bump and head out, but will the trickery only continue until one of them is the Best of the Super Juniors?

Here are the B Block standings!

My Thoughts:

An awesome opening round for BOSJ, and it wasn’t even all the participants with Valiente Jr. and Jun Kasai for whatever reason not here tonight. Maybe travel stuff kept them from arriving in time? Otherwise, the tenth match on the card would’ve been Valiente VS Kasai. But even without them, great matches from start to finish, but that’s par for the course when it comes to NJPW. I really liked Sho saying his match with Kanemaru was gonna steal the show, and then all we get is them trying to outcheat the other, because duh, what else were they gonna do?

Daiki taking Douki’s spot since Douki kayfabe refused to compete, he had a great showing against Taguchi, but it feels like Daiki’s first win in this tournament is gonna happen late in the tournament so that he can act as spoiler. Yoh VS Hyo was certainly unique, and surprisingly short. Both Robbies losing was a bit of a surprise, but it makes sense since Nick Wayne is meant to make an impact this time around, and Kushida is making his return to NJPW, both of those guys needed the win. But seriously, ROH’s tape delays hurt them here because Nick Wayne VS AR Fox doesn’t air until tonight so we already know what happens there…

Daisuke being a real Heel in the end of his match was a good way for him to win while protecting Despy. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Daisuke join House of Torture in the absence of Evil. And awesome main event from Fujita VS Akira, but very fitting of the 2025 BOSJ winner basically defending his title as he goes for another. All of Fujita’s matches probably will be this awesome, or as close to it as they can get out of everyone in A Block, but who knows if he repeats.

My Score: 9/10

Winners: Yota Tsuji & Shingo Takagi, by pinfall (Yota Tsuji is the NEW #1 Contender to the IWGP Heavyweight Championship)

Callum got too cocky in his young reign, and now he’s the one staring up at the lights! But will he have a better game plan for when the title is on the line?

As for the Unbound Company, they catch their breath before Yota takes the mic. “OI, CALLUM! Too bad for you. To me, the path you forge is darkness. I won’t let NJPW go down that path. I will lead NJPW towards the light of hope.” The fans applaud that. Callum says see you at Dominion then! Callum leaves, and Yota continues by saying with Hiroshi Tanahashi’s retirement, the New Beginning, and now Dominion, NJPW has changed dramatically. But now, Yota meets Callum in a rematch for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in Dominion’s main event, carrying that responsibility and determination in his heart!

The fans cheer again, and Yota says, “OI, NJPW! And Callum Newman… ARE YOU READY?!” The fans cheer again, and Yota promises to be the one to carry NJPW on his shoulders! Mic drop from the Gene Blast, but will he dethrone the Prince already? Or will Callum solidify NJWP as his dominion?

My Thoughts:

A very good New Japan Road event as also a sendoff to Dominion. Really good tune-ups, and the 10 Man Tag especially for the build into the Heavyweight Tag title match. Empire winning here might show KOB wins when the time comes, but Best of the Super Juniors is next so there will be more and more tune-up filler matches first. And great tag match main event with the unique stipulation. As I said before, Yota losing both belts is so he can have his heroic journey back to the top. Yota getting the win here makes sense as it sets up the rematch from losing to Callum, and Dominion’s going to have a great main event that could honestly go either way.

My Score: 8.8/10
