Kota Ibushi VS Josh Alexander w/ Don Callis!
The Golden Star wants vengeance for what The Don Callis Family continues to do to his best friend, Kenny Omega! But will he start that journey here with Homecoming? Or will the Walking Weapon stop him in his tracks?
The bell rings and the fans already tell off Don Callis. Ibushi and Alexander circle, feel things out, and they knuckle lock. Alexander shoots in, Ibushi stays back, and they go again. They tie up, are in a collar ‘n’ elbow deadlock, and they go around the way. They end up on the ropes, the ref counts, and Alexander lets off with a cocky grin. Alexander pats Ibushi on the shoulder, but Ibushi brushes that off. They circle, tie up again, and are in another deadlock. Ibushi powers Alexander to the ropes, the ref counts, and Ibushi lets off with pats on the shoulder. Then he dodges the cheap shot to KICK Alexander down!
Alexander bails out, Callis checks on him, but Ibushi wants after him. The ref keeps Ibushi back, and Alexander sneaks in, to CLOBBER Ibushi! The fans boo, Callis takes a sip of water, and Alexander CLUBS Ibushi. Ibushi goes to ropes, Alexander grins, and Alexander stands Ibushi up to fire forearms. Alexander headlocks for a takeover, grinds the hold, but Ibushi fights up. The fans rally, Ibushi rises, and Ibushi powers up to power out. Alexander CLOBBERS Ibushi, runs, but Ibushi stays low. Then Alexander reels Ibushi in for a DDT to the floor! Ibushi writhes, Alexander rises, and Callis applauds while Collision goes picture in picture.
Ibushi checks his own leg, but Alexander drags him up. Alexander puts Ibushi in the ring, talks with Callis real quick, then steps in. Alexander drags Ibushi around to kick the leg, then the other leg, then repeat. Ibushi writhes, Alexander stomps him, but that just annoys Ibushi. Ibushi KICKS, but Alexander SLAMS the leg on the mat! Alexander has the other leg for a standing toehold, but Ibushi endures. Ibushi reaches out, grabs for Alexander, but has to go for the ROPEBREAK instead. The ref counts, Alexander lets go, but Alexander still grins. Alexander kicks Ibushi tot he outside, then argues with the ref. That lets Callis get cheap shots in!
The fans boo and give thumbs down but The Jackal acts like nothing happened. But Ibushi gets up and Callis runs away! Alexander CLOBBERS Ibushi, then drags him up. Alexander puts Ibushi in the ring, covers, TWO! Ibushi toughs it out, but Alexander brings him up. Alexander CLUBS Ibushi, CLUBS him again, then SLAPS him around! Collision returns to single picture as Ibushi snarls. Alexander DECKS him, Callis talks trash, but the fans rally again. Ibushi huffs ‘n’ puffs but Alexander drags him up and around. Ibushi fires body shots, but Alexander CLAWS the eyes! The ref counts, Alexander stops, but he BODY BLOWS in the corner!
Alexander taunts the fans, soaks up the heat, and runs corner to corner, but Ibushi goes up and over! Roll and SNAP POWERSLAM! Roll and MOON- NO, Alexander catches Ibushi to an Electric Chair! Ibushi fights free, full nelsons, but Alexander fights that, so Ibushi waistlocks! GERMAN SUPLEX! The fans fire up as both men are down! Ibushi rises first, then aims to KICK! The ref hurries outside and even Callis is shocked. Ibushi is clutching his leg, Alexander gets in the ring. The ref double checks with Ibushi, and it seems something is definitely wrong with that leg. Doc Sampson checks, and a standing count starts all the same. The count passes 5 of 10, then 8! IBUSHI IS COUNTED OUT, ALEXANDER WINS!
Winner: Josh Alexander, by count-out
Not quite how you expect to win, but a win is a win for The Don Callis Family. Ibushi’s leg is in far worse shape than we realized, will he be alright at all? But Callis of course has to talk… “Ladies and gentlemen… I have something important to tell you! This is what happens when you mess with The Don Callis Family!” MARK DAVIS IS BACK! He is CHOKING and HAMMERING Ibushi! But here comes KENNY OMEGA! The Cleaner CHUCKS a trash can at Alexander! Then he fires hands on Dunkzilla! The fans fire up as Kenny then dodges to LARIAT Davis up and out! Kenny says BANG and gives Alexander a V-TRIGGER!
Kenny clears out The Callis Family as he CHUCKS the trash can again! The Callis Family is in retreat, the fans cheer on Kenny, but sadly it seems Kenny’s save only does so much. If Ibushi is already down and out, will Kenny have to go it alone against The Don Callis Family?
Mark Briscoe speaks.
“I seen it in your eyes, Kyle. I seen the fear! We ain’t no strangers. What is it now? Two wins for me, two wins for you? Matter of fact, the battles we’ve had here made me more determined to do what I set out to do when I got here in the first place. And that’s put gold around my waist! Y’know, I’ve been here damn near three years now. But you know there is a time for everything. At WrestleDream, it’s high time that I take that TNT title and put it around my waist. ‘Bout to drag you out to the deep waters, boy. You better hope you don’t drown.” The Sussex County Chicken is daring Kyle to #ManUp, but will he really become the NEW Face of TNT?
Anthony Bowens & Max Caster VS “Big Bill” Morrissey & Bryan Keith!
As we heard from both teams tonight, only one team even wants to be a team, because in the end, The Pride of Pro-Wrestling and the Best Wrestler Alive have too much ego! But they somehow won with that dysfunction last time, so can they do it again? Or will The Redwood & Bounty Hunter take down one of the best former tag teams in AEW history?
The teams sort out, the fans rally up, but while Keith starts, Caster and Bowens still have to argue. Bowens lets Caster start, and the chants begin, “Let’s Go, Max! You’re the Best Wrestler Alive!” Bowens has already had enough of that so he tags himself in! But then Caster tags himself in! “Let’s Go, Max! You’re the Best Wrestler Alive!” Keith and Caster tie up, Caster trips and covers, ONE! Keith kicks low, snapmares, covers, ONE! The two stand, Caster RUNS Keith over and covers, ONE! “Let’s Go, Max! Bowens runs in and SEVEN FOOT TALL FAMOUSERS! Caster DROPKICKS Keith!
The fans fire up for the dysfunctional Acclaimed, and they want them to scissor it out! Caster and Bowens look to each other, but they refuse to be like old times. Bill drags Bowens out and THROWS him into the crowd! Keith CLOBBERS Caster! Bill & Keith mug Caster, the ref reprimands, but Bill CHOPS Caster! Bill makes Caster smile, Keith CLAWS Caster’s face, and the ref reprimands while Collision goes picture in picture.
Bill & Keith stop at 4, and they let Caster flop out of the ring. Caster sputters, Keith drags Bowens up to CHOP him! Bowens flops against railing, but Keith CLAWS his eyes! The ref reprimands, Keith stops, but Billi drags Bowens up to RAM into the railing! Bowens writhes but Keith CHOPS him! Bowens staggers away, Bill CHOKES him, and HAMMERS away on his head! Keith stomps Bowens down, covers, TWO! Keith argues with the ref but the count was fair.
Bowens kicks from below, kicks again, but Keith CLOBBESR him! Bill & Keith are in control as Collision goes to break.
Homecoming returns as Bowens fireman’s carries Keith! But Keith CLAWS Bowens’ eyes and has the headlock! The fans rally while Bowens endures the grind. Bowens fights up again, another fireman’s carry, but Keith SLAPS him! Bowens SLAPS back! Keith runs up, Bowens dodges and ELBOWS Keith! Bowens crawls, Keith drags him up, but Bowens dodges the boot! But then he doesn’t tag Caster?! Keith BOOTS Bowens! Caster tags in! Caster ROCKS Keith, then springboards to FLYING KNEE! Caster BLASTS Bill, goes out and ROCKS Keith! And UPPERCUTS him! And CHOPS him! The fans fire up as Caster gets the chant going again.
The fans rally, “Let’s Go, Max! You’re the Best Wrestler Alive!” Caster winds up, but Keith dodges! Caster POSTS himself, staggers, but he dodges Keith. But then Keith dodges and the CHOP hits POST! Bill runs up, Caster dodges and Bill POSTS himself! Keith puts Caster in but Caster pops up to the DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Cover, TWO! The fans rally up again, and Caster feeds off the energy. Caster goes up the corner, but Bowens tags in! Bowens tells Caster to get down and get out. Caster doesn’t get what the problem is, but Keith RAMS Bowens into Caster! O’Conner with tights! TWO and Caster TOSSES Keith!
Bowens and Caster argue, then they start shoving! The fans boo as these two can’t stop themselves. But Bill runs in and Bowens warns Caster! Caster dodges, Bowens DUMPS Bill! Keith returns, he BOOTS Caster down, but Bowens MOLLY WHOPS Keith! Cover, Not Acclaimed wins!
Winners: Anthony Bowens & Max Caster, by pinfall
It wasn’t intentional, but there was some teamwork that got the job done! Bowens takes all the credit, shows off all his framed pictures, but Caster storms up on him. Bowens leaves, but will these two ever figure it out?
The Bang Bang Gang speaks.
Austin Gunn revs up and says, “I don’t know about you, boys, but I’m starting to feel like myself again.” Austin Gunn, the MVP of Pandemic Era, is BACK in Jacksonville, Florida! And whoa, Bill & Keith are rampaging into the area! Juice Robinson says whoa, hey, relax! Oh, wow, they’re telling Bill & Keith to relax? That’s funny, considering the last time they were in the ring, Bill whooped Juice’s ass. Ace Austin says Bill’s got a big mouth for a big man who just took a big loss out there. Keith asks who the hell this guy is, and Ace asks if he wants to find out. Juice says this is Ace Austin! Bill can’t believe they’re serious right now.
Bang Bang Gang says let’s get after it right now! Keith has Bill stand down, if just for now. Ace says he can swing that high, he promises. But if those guys ain’t done, then they’ve got two words for ya: GUNNS UP! But when and where will the Bang Bang Gang reignite things with The Redwood & Bad Apple?
TayJay VS Dream Girl Ellie & Carolina Cruz!
The Brazilian Blackbelt and the Queenslayer each tested themselves against former AEW Women’s World Champions, and though they both lost, they both proved they’ve got what it takes. Then by their powers combined, will they be shoe-ins for the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championships? Or will The Dream Girl and The Havana Savage make quite the splash in Jacksonville?
The teams sort out and Anna starts against Carolina. They circle, tie up, and Anna powers Carolina right to the corner. Tag to Tay, hey fire off on Carolina, then they double KNEE low! They pinky swear and secret handshake while Carolina sputters, and she gets the DOUBLE BOOTY BUMP! The fans cheer, then Tay scoops Carolina. Carolina slips free to CLUB Tay, and tags in Ellie! The Homecoming is sweet for TayJay, and that new combo move could be just the thing! Will these two finally be champions in AEW?
Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.
Lexy Nair is with Willow Nightingale, Tomohiro Ishii, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong, and Cassidy says he isn’t sure how this works. Kyle says he’ll admit it. He got out-Kyled. You live by the Kyle, you die by the Kyle. But that doesn’t make him any less Kyle. Cassidy has no idea what he’s talking about, and Kyle says he doesn’t know what Cassidy is talking about! Kyle got beat by the other Kyle. The tall one, Australian, covered in grease. Oh, that guy is Kyle 2? No, it’s Kyle Fletcher, and that burns O’Reilly up. Oh.
Well, uh, at this point, Mark Briscoe might say something about Word of the Day, but he’s home on the farm right now, getting ready to get the TNT Championship from a guy who is apparently named Kyle! Roderick suddenly shouts, “MOXLEY! And the Death Riders. I don’t like you. And I don’t think you’re as tough as you think you are. I’m not in this, but I’ll do anything, especially if I get to beat your asses. So let me know.” Willow says Roddy might not think he’s part of this, but Ishii and the others taught her good values, and she is always proudly representing Conglomeration. She’ll gladly have the backs off her Conglomeration-Adjacent friends, #JetSpeed.
So uh, if you don’t mind, she’s gotta go lock in. Wait, hold on. Do the thing. Wait, really? Uh, okay. Willow does her best Briscoe by saying we’re gonna go out there and wallop somebody! RAH RAH RAAAAH~! Willow leads the way out, and Cassidy admits, they kinda need Briscoe. But will everything go Conglomeration’s way tonight? Or will FTR & Megan Bayne get the better of #JetSpeedBabes?
The Demand speaks.
Ricochet says it took ALL THREE Hurt Syndicate members to put down little ol’ him! Are they afraid of his guys? Kaun says this will continue. The chaos continues! Liona says if they want this to end, then they DEMAND war! When you’re in Demand, you can make demands! And if you don’t meet their demands, you get put down!! So BREAKING NEWS for the Dynamite-Collision three hour combo in Kansas City, Missouri: Gates of Agony will go 2v2 with Shelton Benjamin & Bobby Lashley, AHEAD of a WrestleDream Six Man Tag! Will it all end in Missouri?
AEW shares footage from New York Comic-Con.
It was just yesterday as Darby Allin crashes the AEW panel to attack Moxley! They brawled off stage, the fans cheered them on, and everyone else on the panel had to step in! So now, set for Wednesday, Jon Moxley and Darby Allin will have a “special” face to face, with the No Physicality Agreement heavily enforced.
The Death Riders speak.
Marina Shafir tells Darby, “Hey, you little freak! You seem to be getting in your own way. You need a real reset.” Daniel Garcia says the whole “I’m crazy” act doesn’t really work on him or anyone else like them. Darby has everything from tasers to flamethrowers, but what he lacks is structure. Darby’s life is meaningless, and he lives like it, too. Darby’s trying to kill himself at every chance he gets! Every time he can, he does something crazy. He climbed Mount Everest, but returned the same person. This right here is Garcia’s Everest. Stomping Darby’s face into the chair was the peak, and now Garcia has come down a different person.
Darby, Garcia would rather die than end up like you, though Darby is the one to die. Pac says yes, they are very different, Darby and the Death Riders. For the Death Riders are legitimate competitors, the real deal. They pride themselves on being the best of the best at whatever they do, every day of their lives. They refuse mediocrity, whereas Darby… Well, he’s a piece of crap who paints his face like a low rate children’s entertainer, relying on cheap props and cheap stunts to achieve anything in life. Darby is so desperate for attention and relevance, it is an embarrassment to the industry.
And he made a big mistake last Tuesday night. Darby poked his nose in their business for the last time. Handcuffs and bear mace and Molotov cocktails. Really? Death Riders will not be held responsible for what happens next. Moxley finally steps into frame and says next time he sees Darby… Darby will get his face smashed in. That’s a promise. The Maniac then heads back out, did he just promise to violate the No Physicality Agreement already?

Toni and Kris are each a second slow to making the save, and the Triangle stands tall together. Will they soon have those AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships tangled up in their web? As for Toni and Kris, they now go back to being rivals. Toni gives the title a sniff and a kiss before handing it to Kris, will she and her one true love be reunited soon enough?
Kenny Omega speaks.
“Oh, yeah. Yep. I knew the mission statement since day one, Don. It was about fame, fortune, belts, all that good stuff. It was a sales pitch. And then you had to make it personal. You had to take out my friends, people that I care about, people that I love. And why? It never ends, and it’s not gonna end until one of us f-” A knock at the door interrupts. Kenny says come in. And it’s Jack Perry… Jack says he gets it, okay? He’s probably the last person Kenny wants to see right now. Yeah, that’s about right. Jack says he just wants to say sorry about what happened to Ibushi. Oh, right, okay. Because you’re such a nice guy, Jack!
Jack says if, and only if, Kenny ever wanted to… Jack & Luchasaurus have his back. Wow, where’d this come from? No, no, Jack has his effin’ back, huh? Jack Perry has Kenny Omega’s back? Why’s this coming from outta nowhere? Is this the guy who took Kenny out in his own hometown of Winnipeg? Is this the guy who had Kenny’s guts hanging out on live TV? The man making fun of that situation because Kenny might never come back? He was PROUD of that moment, wasn’t he? Jack says yes, and he gets it, okay? There’s nothing he can do to change that. But all he’s saying is that they have common enemies.
Kenny says yeah, sure. But tell you what: Kenny doesn’t trust Jack. Jack might say he’s got Kenny’s back, but Kenny does not have his. Big dumb dinosaur? Kenny DGAF there, either. But tell you what: If they have the same enemies, and since Kenny is low on friends, then if Jack wants to prove himself… See you at Dynamite, see what they can figure out. You know where the door is, so get out. Jack leaves without another word, but will Jurassic Express really help The Cleaner get rid of the trash that is The Don Callis Family?
Backstage interview with Harley & Kris.
Lexy Nair is there as #Wrathlander returns from ringside, and notes the tough loss to The Triangle of Madness, especially as things are continuing to get heated with Toni Storm. Kris says she wouldn’t call that heated, but it was just women supporting women and really excited to fight each other. Harley tells “Stat Daddy” that she has to confess something: She’s not really a cat! And also, Harley did ask Mercedes Mone if she’d team with Harley for the tag title tournament, and because Kris has been so busy, but Mone was all, “Noru.” Harley says there is still something here with her and Kris, Wrathlander can ride again!
Kris says yeah, she knew. She watches the product. If there’s a way for Kris & Harley to go after the tag titles, then Kris would gladly do it. But so long as she has THE AEW Women’s World Championship, she needs to defend it with her life. She promises, she has Harley’s back, but she can’t do everything, and she has to focus on the title. Then is Harley a tag team orphan? No! Actually, there is someone Kris knows who can make a great partner for Harley. Yuta steps in and says, “There she goes again! Kris Statlander, making a new friend, and then dumping them as soon as she gets what she needs.” Harley tells Yuta to go to Hell!
Toni Storm steps in, she turns Kris around, and says, “C’mon, Big Stat Daddy! Why don’t you take a shot right now, darling? Why don’t you show me what your best move is?” Yuta tugs on his collar, jokingly signaling it is getting hot in here, before he leaves. Kris and Toni are ready to throw down already, and Toni even unbuttons her shirt! Harley keeps the peace, but is this going to explode long before we get to WrestleDream?

Mixed Six Match: Megan Bayne & FTR VS Willow Nightingale & JetSpeed!
When The Megasus turned out to be the surprise #BigStoke had in store for The Babe with the Power, it certainly seemed like the battle was already won on paper. But just because Megan’s ego matches the ones on Dax & Cash doesn’t mean they’ll automatically crush Willow, Kevin Knight & Mike Bailey! Will the #JetSpeedBabes take these #TopGodsOut? Or will they all be made to bow down?
The teams sort out, and with Megan stepping up, Willow obliges. The fans fire up as it is ladies first, and the fans all cheer on Willow. Megan is annoyed as she and Willow circle. They tie up, go around, and Megan puts Willow on the ropes. Willow puts Megan in the corner, the ref reprimands, and they go around the way. My Thoughts:
A very good Collision here for Homecoming, though Ibushi’s injury was a big downer. And seeing as how this episode was actually recorded on Wednesday, anyone saying the injury was from Kota Ibushi’s style is clearly wrong, that fall off the top was an old fashioned accident. Now clearly they wanted to build something more, with Mark Davis still going out there to attack. I know “the show must go on,” but maybe not in that moment. Or maybe change the order, have Kenny go out there first to check on Ibushi (since he’d actually want to check his best friend), and then send Davis out to go after Kenny. Kenny can still fight Davis and Alexander off, and we can still have that promo from Kenny and Jack to set up their uneasy alliance for Dynamite-Collision next week.
Speaking of that super show they’re doing, I’m covering that as one article, no sense in making two when even AEW is doing combo graphics for it. Also, I already don’t like this Tailgate Brawl stuff. They’re taking the Zero Hour matches away from YouTube, meaning Zero Hour is no longer free for everyone, but you have to have cable or HBO Max to watch. Also, it’s just annoying to try and do all that before switching to YouTube for the PPV anyway. And the matches for it were all set up in the main event tonight, splitting off FTR VS JetSpeed and Willow VS Megan just as I knew they would.
That said, great main event with the Mixed Six, though I’m surprised they allowed even that much co-ed interaction. At the same time, good stuff with that, i.e. Megan and Willow getting to throw around the guys. But with Stokely and Ford ringside, of course the Heels won. Harley joining Willow in this is a great detail, clearly Kris is still trying to be friends with Willow, even if indirectly. We got great stuff in the Six Woman Tag of Harley, Kris & Toni VS Triangle of Madness, but Harley taking the loss makes sense. Toni and Kris need to be strong going into their title match, and Triangle of Madness needs to be strong just in general. Good stuff with Hayter & Aminata going after them, building Blood & Guts while also just having good action.
TayJay of course got a quick win here, Jacksonville is where it all began for them, so a win here was just logical. Same for Bowens & Caster, even if they’re still at each other’s throats. But the way things are going, this has to mean The Acclaimed truly reunites before the year is out so that 2026 can be them going back for the tag titles. Then good promo from Bill & Keith with Bang Bang Gang afterward, guess that rivalry is being revived. I feel like it should be the Austins VS Bill & Keith just so Ace gets to actually do some stuff.
The MXM TV Casting Call really is just the Platinum Max Open Challenge, they’re gonna lose to like the same people, just in team form. But it helped LFI have something for Homecoming, and it helped segue into Eddie Kingston VS Mortos, another really good match. Very good promo from Shibata to call out LFI, but I feel like The Opps defending those Trios Championships means they’re gonna lose those Trios Championships, because Samoa Joe will care more about the AEW World Championship than the trios titles. Though I could see a handoff of sorts, where Hook & Eddie help The Opps since they’ve got common enemies in LFI.
And some really good promos from Conglomeration and Death Riders. Kyle complaining about being “out-Kyle’d” was funny stuff, but Briscoe had a really good promo to call Fletcher out for WrestleDream. Those matches made for Dynamite-Collision are some good matches, but they don’t really do anything for WrestleDream but for everything after. And Moxley outright saying he’s gonna try and smash Darby’s face, surely that “Special Face-to-Face” will need like all the security they can muster, maybe keeping one person in the ring and the other on stage so they can’t just start fighting again.
My Score: 8.8/10

The Death Riders speak.
It was after AEW Dynamite on Wednesday that Jon Moxley said, “Every time I step into the ring with Kyle O’Reilly, I can’t find a way to win. It’s been failure after failure after failure. Kyle O’Reilly has tapped me out, twice. Ipso facto, Kyle O’Reilly will be the new Continental Champion. You might think. But the Jon Moxley of six months ago is not the same as Jon Moxley of today. Who I will be tomorrow is better than who I am today. Logic and strategy would dictate that I should stay as far away from Kyle O’Reilly as I can. Because there’s no doubt about it, Kyle, you have my number.
The thing about this Continental Championship, it’s good bait. All the dragons I wanna slay come right to my door. I will do what I’ve done for 22 years surviving in this business, Kyle: I’m gonna find a way.” The Maniac heads out, and Claudio Castagnoli steps forward to tell Brody King that Brody always brings the bark. But if he steps in the ring with Claudio in the Owen Hart Tournament, he better bring the bite. Pac then says, “Nobody gets special treatment. It doesn’t matter who you are, Death Riders against the world.” Daniel Garcia says yeah, let’s get it! Yuta repeats, “Against the world.” Marina Shafir tells the world, “Bring it, you p*ssies!”

Will Ospreay speaks.
It was also after Dynamite that The Aerial Assassin told Samoa Joe, “My apologies for not getting back to any of your messages, been a little bit busy training and getting myself ready for The Owen. Surprised to see you there in the opening round, mate. It’s gonna be a tough one. But if you can just bear with me for a hot second while I explain to you… Six months of my life got taken away from me, mate. Six months, I’ve been sitting in front of a TV screen, watching AEW, looking at it, trying to get my strength back in my arms, rushing to get back. That’s six months of frustration, six months of anger. And then I finally had my kill shot on Dynasty, and I lost.
“And ever since then, man, I’ve been struggling with my matches. Doc even stopped one for my own safety. I’m annoyed that I didn’t get revenge on Jon. But I’m more upset at the idea that I can’t be the guy that AEW put their trust in once upon a time. Regardless of how I feel about Jon, regardless of how I feel about The Death Riders, there’s nothing that I can say that’ll make people ever understand. But Jon Moxley is the Ace, he’s a soldier for this place. And while his methods might be sick, there are people who stand up to see him get elevated. So what could it happen with him in my corner?
“Joe, I’ve got nothing but respect for ya. Everything that you’ve done in this industry. Mate, you were in the match that made me want to become a pro-wrestler. But no one, no one, is stopping me from winning The Owen. And I find it very poetic that the man takt took away my old life has given me a second chance of capturing the world championship.” The Billy Goat is ready to become something more, but will Samoa Joe make sure Ospreay goes Double or Nothing and loses?
Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.
Lexy Nair congratulates them on their win tonight, and brings up that Moxley has accepted Kyle’s challenge. Kyle says yes, Moxley is right, Kyle has his number. But facing Moxley has been the biggest test of Kyle’s career, so what’s one more test? This Wednesday, it’s a title eliminator, and after Kyle makes Moxley submit again, he is putting all his chips in and goes Double or Nothing! Briscoe says damn right, Kyle. And speaking of Dynamite, Tommaso Ciampa, Briscoe put it plain and clear, but he hasn’t heard a word from Ciampa! If Ciampa’s scared, he should just say it! Cassidy says Willow needs to say something.
Willow says sure, okay. Great job, guys, really. But for her, Double or Nothing, it will be TRIPLE or nothing, because she has THIS bad boy, the TBS Championship! Backstage interview with Sammy Guevara.
Lexy Nair is with The Spanish God and brings up how he called out Darby Allin just last night at Supercard of Honor for the AEW World Championship. But just like last night, Sammy hushes “Chica” Lexy, and says, “Everybody’s Favorite Pillar is about to talk, so zip it and listen. Darby, I don’t need to call my shot against you because I looked through the history books, and history’s on my side. I’ve beaten you not once, not twice, not three times, I’ve beaten you four times. When I look at the history books, I’m a three-time TNT Champion while you, you’ve only held that belt twice.
“So I’m gonna beat you tonight like I’ve beaten you before. I’m gonna stamp my ticket to Double or Nothing, and MJF, I know you’re watching, you sociopath. I’m gonna beat you next week and I’m gonna shave you BALD! But don’t worry, I’ll give you a nice little fade. Because I am the best! I am the best wrestler, I am the best talker, I am the best this planet has! I’m the Spanish God, dammit! I’m number one, I’ve been here since day one, and there’s only one way this is gonna go: With me as the NEW AEW World Champion! Darby, your time is up, and my time is now. Because I am Numero Uno. That means ‘number one.'”
Sammy heads out, but is his big head only going to get in the way tonight?
Backstage interview with Darby Allin.
Collision returns and Lexy is now with said AEW World Champion. She brings up the five title defenses in 21 days, an AEW record! But tonight is number six against someone Darby’s known for a long time in Sammy Guevara. Darby says when he showed up today, he asked if anyone had seen MJF yet. Then he thought, “What a stupid question. Of course he’s not gonna be at Collision.” MJF is not a company man, he only cares about himself. And those same people asked back, why is Darby back? Why is Darby defending his title again? Double or Nothing is next Sunday, why is Darby risking losing this? Because Darby loves this!
And if there’s anyone in this company as crazy as Darby, it is Sammy Guevara. Darby loves it! Darby realizes this could all end tonight, and Speedball wants his match on Wednesday? Well, if Darby walks out here tonight, then on Dynamite, it’s Showtime! Darby thanks Lexy then heads back out. Will the Relentless Reign be an unstoppable one? Or is this one Collision Darby will not walk away from?

He is your hero! And to be honest, for everything that he does, he deserves a standing ovation! Joe certainly applauds, and the fans here in Salisbury join in!
Bowens says if you’re asking what this change of attitude is about… This man, Samoa Joe, has been teaching Bowens all he needs to know: choices have consequences; and if you don’t like the way the table is set, you flip that table over and you choose violence! The fans cheer, and now Joe speaks on the mic. “Oh, Ospreaaaay~…! Do you understand what I do for my friends? But unfortunately, decisions have consequences, and you chose a different road, Will. So allow me to say this: I am truly beyond honored that you consider facing me a dream match.” The fans cheer that, but Joe says it’s just unfortunate that when he gets Ospreay in the ring, “it’ll be nothing but a nightmare.”
Joe & Bowens have made it clear that no matter who, no matter where, and no matter what, The Opps will not show mercy. Will nothing stop The Opps from taking it all here in AEW?
Backstage interview with #Brodido.
Lexy Nair is with Brody King & Bandido, and wants to talk the Owen Hart Tournament. Brody is set to face Claudio while Bandido is up against Swerve Strickland. Now, if they both win their matches, that pits them against teach other in the semifinals. But what they also needs to talk about is last night, Supercard of Honor, Bandido retained the title, only for Swerve to attack. Brody tells Swerve that he warned him about what would happen if Swerve messed with the people Brody cared about! Next time Brody sees Swerve, he’ll- Bandido stops Brody there, and says no, no, hermano. Bandido loves you, but this is Bandido’s battle, and Brody needs to respect that.
So Bandido tells Swerve that this is a battle Swerve will not win! Swerve may be the Most Dangerous, but Bandido is the Most Wanted! And after Double or Nothing when Bandido beats Swerve, Swerve won’t be a danger to anyone anymore! Both sides of Brodido have spoken, but will either of them knock down Swerve’s House? Or will Swerve’s thirst for power be satiated with the Owen Hart Cup?

AEW hears from the four fighting for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
Kris Statlander says, “At Double or Nothing, I face three women, one who I hate, one who I respect, and one who I’m still not sure about.” The hated one, Thekla, says there’s only one way this ends when she’s up against dumb b*tch after dumb b*tch after dumb b*tch. The respected one, Jamie Hayter, says she had the title stripped away from her and it’s eluded her ever since. And the uncertainty, Hikaru Shida, says even though it is every one for themselves, she knows she and Kris will be on the same page, just like always! Kris says y’know who really has her back? Kris herself! That’s all she needs! Jamie warns Thekla that she’s gonna find out, unfinished business is her favorite kind!
Thekla says Double or Nothing, the Toxic Spider destroys New York! A Fatal 4 Way of epic proportions await, will there be nothing left after the dust clears?
Backstage interview with Athena and Mina Shirakawa.
Lexy Nair is with the ROH Women’s World Champion and the Fighting Gravure Idol, and thanks them for accepting the No Physicality Agreement. They are on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Tournament, this has gotta be a tough one. Athena says maybe, maybe not, but the facts are this: Athena has been the ROH Women’s World Champion for over 1252 DAYS, and has left of dozens of bodies in her wake. Pretty sure Mina’s one of them. Mina says last year at All In, Athena broke Mina’s hand. Athena says so what! Last year at Death Before Dishonor, she kicked Mina’s ass all over the arena! Why does Mina think this match will be any different?
Mina laughs and says last night at Supercard, when she locked in the Figure Four on her opponent, she dreamt it was Athena. Athena says Mina is dreaming of her! So flattered! But she hopes Mina has the best dream tonight: Mina’s dead body in a ditch, next to her precious Toni Storm! Mina tells Athena that Mina has dreamt of winning The Owen and the AEW Women’s World title, while ending Athena! She can’t dream anymore, because now she will live it! Athena says sure, sure. They argue, but Lexy keeps them from getting physical! Will the Fallen Goddess be unstoppable even in AEW? Or will The Owen will be about #MinaNow?
Backstage interview with Lio Rush.
Nigel McGuinness tracked down The Problem Child, and walks over. Lio says hey, Nigel! Good to see you! He saw Nigel put in that work last night, he did great. He did really good. Nigel appreciates that, that’s what he wants to talk about. Specifically, what happened between Lio and his former tag team partner, Action Andretti. Action cost Lio the ROH World TV Championship, what is Lio’s response? Lio says it’s all fine! It’s fine! These things happen, Nigel. Losses happen, friends get upset. It’s fine. It’s fine. Lio keeps saying that, and Nigel says that is the official response. Lio again says it’s good to see Nigel.
But then Lio takes off his sunglasses to show off those creepy eyes. He smiles, and that black goo drools out… Lio continues to say it’s fine, but is it anything but fine? Or should Action learn to sleep with one eye open?
Six Man Tag: Mark Davis & The Dogs VS The Rascalz!
Before they team up for Stadium Stampede, the AEW National Champion teams with David Finlay & Clark Connors to test their chemistry. Will Dunkzilla, The Rebel & 100 Proof sink their teeth into Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz & Myron Reed? Or will The Rascalz light ’em up and smoke ’em in Salisbury?

If Darby Allin wins, MJF will then have to sign a contract for Title VS Hair at Double or Nothing. Darby has made it clear that if MJF doesn’t sign said contract, Darby will never allow MJF to face him for the title again. We all know how important the title is for MJF, but is MJF willing to put his hair on the line for it? MJF just chuckles and moves on, but he notices the very bald Rick Knox, Bryce Remsburg, and the head of security, David Aponte. And then various bald members of the production staff…
And then even Christopher Daniels & Sonjay Dutt are there! Daniels and Sonjay chuckle before moving on, and then MJF sees John Silver flexing. Brandon Cutler, some arena staff, and even Tommaso Ciampa, all bald. Then last but certainly not least, Ricochet! He tells MJF that don’t worry, he’ll look great. Just not as good as Ricochet. AHA~! MJF storms off, will he have no choice but to choose between gold belt and chrome dome?

Another star-studded 10 Man Tag, and it was a huge win for all the hungry contenders. Christian doesn’t wanna celebrate, but he does signal that he and Cope will be champions. Will putting their tag team legacy on the line be enough to take the gold? Or will Double or Nothing be the last night that team reeks of awesomeness?
Will Ospreay continues to train with The Death Riders.
They’re outside this time, Claudio Castagnoli playing some wall ball with Marina Shafir and Pac. Daniel Garcia says, “Tonight is the night that we’ve all been waiting for: The Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, is cleared and back on Dynamite. And rumor has it, the kid’s been working real hard and he’s got some new tricks up his sleeves. So Young Boy Billy, tonight you gotta show me something, c’mon.” Garcia gets a quick turn in on wall ball while cameras move over. Ospreay is maintaining a neck bridge while Jon Moxley uses Wheeler Yuta as a living dummy to show just how to push and pull and bend and twist on the various chinlocks and headlocks.
Use the right arm to push against the head, then snake in the left arm for the sleeper. Pry and shoot. Moxley asks how Ospreay feels. Ospreay lets off the bridge and says honestly, the best he’s felt in forever. Moxley asks if Ospreay remembers the night he won the Best of the Super Juniors. Yeah, 2019. AKA a lifetime ago. Ospreay was carefree, flew like a bird, for no other reason than that’s just what birds do. So simple back then, chasing that feeling, like no other feeling in the world. Can’t really grab it in your hands for more than a few seconds. The joy of doing it. Then everybody comes in and tries to make it so overcomplicated.
Years pass, life happens, a family starts, responsibilities show up, bad things happen, bad choices catch up to you, and it’s all weight on your shoulders. You feel like you can’t fly. But Moxley will tell you something: Nothing is different. Nothing has changed. All those things are still gonna be there, but you can still fly. You’re just more dangerous now. You’re a bird of prey. So tonight, when you got out there, don’t go out there to protect anything. Not your neck, your image, your reputation, or what you’ve built in your career. Go out there to give something. Moxley checks on Yuta and says dammit, if you’re gonna snap a headlock, snap the headlock!
Moxley storms off to instruct his pupil, but will Ospreay use everything he has been taught to great effect? Or will he have to fold against Ace Austin?
Chris Jericho speaks.
“You wanna face Jericho in a match of my own design, Ricochet? A spectacle so innovative, so imaginative, it cannot be contained, it can only be witnessed. Well, be careful what you demand, because you’ve made a few enemies yourself, Ricochet. And now a match designed specifically to settle scores without any, and I mean AAANY~, limitations has gotten even bigger.” Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate were just looking for two more, but “Jungle” Jack Perry said he can bring four: himself, The Young Bucks, and KENNY OMEGA! Jericho tells Ricochet that this is no longer what he designed, but it is a devil’s dance of destruction! Ricochet’s destruction!
Ricochet got what he wanted, now can he handle it? Bald. The first-ever SEVEN VS SEVEN Stadium Stampede, who will even survive?
Ricochet & The Demand respond.
They stand with Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family and Ricochet says we all know Jericho does a lot of talking out of his ass while The Demand gets things done. Just like Davis did when he defeated Jack for the AEW National Championship at Fairway to Hell. Hold it with pride, Davis, Ricochet knows you’ll do it well. Davis says he’s got this. Ricochet says Davis has joined the dream team, but he’s not the only one. Because compliments to Ricochet’s golfing buddy, Don Callis, look who else he’s sending: Andrade El Idolo! Gracias, amigo. But it doesn’t stop there, the train keeps rolling. Ricochet was just approached by two guys who have an ax to grind with the superkick sidekicks.
These two wanna fill out the last two spots, so who is Ricochet to say no to The Dogs? Finlay & Connors storm in, and Finlay says to put it simple, they will fight The Bucks in the streets, in the ring, but guess it’s fighting at Double or Nothing! If they want violence, if they want carnage, if they want chaos, who better than The Dogs?! The Dogs bark and Liona roars, but will these seven stand tall in the Big Apple?

That might’ve been Ospreay’s first win by submission ever! He signals that his neck is no longer a problem, and he shows Ace respect for that fight. Ace accepts the handshake again, and Ospreay is moving on towards Double or Nothing with a great amount of momentum. But wait! SAMOA JOE is here! He and The Opps walk out on stage, and with mic in hand, Joe says, “Ospreay, Ospreay… OSPREAY, OSPREAY!” Joe is clearly mocking the chants for Ospreay, and the fans give genuine chanting and even singing in return. Joe says he just wanted to make sure Ospreay was listening, because these past few weeks, it seemed like Ospreay had a hard time hearing him.
Despite Ospreay’s best efforts, fate has put them on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Cup. The fans like the sound of that! Joe say she is here for one reason and one reason alone. He wants to speak about choices and consequences. Ospreay could’ve made the right choice and get a bye in this tournament, because that is what Joe would do for one of his friends. But Ospreay chose poorly. He could’ve been with the team that would do nothing but support and enhance Ospreay, but he decided to be a lapdog for Moxley and the Death Riders. The fans boo, Ospreay says he’s not a Death Rider.
Joe says Ospreay has made his choice, and come Double or Nothing, Joe makes Ospreay suffer the consequences. But Joe leaves Ospreay in peace tonight, for he has his date with destiny. But unfortunately, Joe’s friends, Katsuyori Shibata & Anthony Bowens, still feel slighted, and he doesn’t put leashes on his friends. Shibata & Bowens storm down the ramp, Ospreay ready to fight them both if he has to. But then The Death Riders appear! Ospreay may not have officially joined the club, but the Death Riders aren’t going to let their investment go to waste! The Opps say they’re #NeverLacking, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now!
Shibata & Bowens back down while Moxley, Marina, Claudio, Yuta, Garcia & Pac all step up to support Ospreay. Joe says, “Soon. Soon.” The fans cheer the Death Riders, or at least Moxley, but Bowens promises Joe is gonna kill you, Ospreay! The dream match for Double or Nothing is on, but will the training with The Death Riders make Ospreay the new King of Harts?
BREAKING NEWS for next week!
If you liked last week’s THREE HOUR block of AEW, then you’ll love this next one! Portland, Maine, the last Wednesday before Double or Nothing, Dynamite & Collision are combining forces again! Three hours all on TBS and HBO Max, make sure your DVR is set accordingly!
Backstage interview with Don Callis & Konosuke Takeshita.
Renee is now with The Invisible Hand & The Alpha, saying tonight is a huge opportunity in the main event, Konosuke facing Darby Allin for THE AEW World Championship. Konosuke could be heading into Double or Nothing as a- Callis stops Renee there to say Konosuke will be heading into Double or Nothing as a DOUBLE champion! But then MJF steps in, apologizes for the interruption but says Renee’s doing a great job. The Scumbag tells Konosuke that while it’s been a minute since the two of them have talked, three years actually, back when MJF beat him… MJF has seen Konosuke develop into truly one of the best wrestlers in the world!
MJF believes that tonight, Konosuke beats Darby for the title, goes to DON to beat Okada, and MJF can’t think of a better match than Konosuke VS MJF Part 2 for the world title. How’s that sound? MJF offers a handshake, Konosuke shakes his hand, but in Japanese, Konosuke tells MJF that he’ll beat the crap out of him. Thankfully, MJF doesn’t know Japanese. Callis says that was a nice pep talk MJF just gave, and MJF says yes, he knows. That kid needs to win, okay? MJF can’t let Darby turn him into some disgusting, bald freak! No offense, Callis looks great. But look, there is only one foolproof way to know MJF won’t be put in that situation.
So if things get hairy… MJF hands over the Dynamite Diamond Ring! Callis smiles, and say she understands what to do with it. But then in steps Andrade. El Idolo takes off his hat to shake out his amazing head of hair, and smiles at MJF. MJF frowns and leaves. Callis says here’s the deal: Takeshita will bring the world title home to the Don Callis Family tonight! Andrade asks, “How you know?” Callis says aye dios mio, he seriously doesn’t know where Andrade learned English. Andrade says one way or another, the next time, that will be HIS title. Callis says yes, he knows, it’s all good. Callis is a man of many talents, but will his family be dripping with gold thanks to a diamond ring?
AEW now announces the Women’s Owen Hart Memorial Tournament brackets!
Double or Nothing will see Willow Nightingale, the reigning Queen of Harts, take on Alex Windsor, while we will see Persephone VS Hazuki, Skye Blue vs Sareee, and Mina Shirakawa VS Athena! Champions from around the world are gathering for this tournament, but who will be headed to Forbidden Door, and then All In: London?
Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.
Renee Paquette is now with Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Willow Nightingale. Renee commends Cassidy on his part in the 10 Man Tag victory. But it seems that there is even more business to attend to. Cassidy says yes, the team has a shot at THE AEW World Tag Team Championships. It doesn’t matter who it is, they’re getting their shot, but the thing is… They still haven’t decided on which two will be. Kyle says Cassidy & Roddy should go for the gold, but Roddy shouts, “KYYYLE~! Thank you.” Kyle says of course. But that’s cuz he’s got gold to chase for himself!
The same man that put Kyle on the shelf for months is the man that Kyle submitted twice, and will submit again. Jon Moxley, Continental Champion, when are we doing this? Willow says speaking of gold, she is still the TBS Champion. But she is also in the Owen Hart Cup. She won this tournament before, she’ll do it all over again, so that she can have all the gold for herself at All In: London. She knows she can, and she will! Then Conglomeration has it all in order? Cassidy says hold on, there’s something missing. They should do a Word of the Day. Why haven’t they done one in so long? Roddy shouts for “MAAARK~!” And yes, Mark Briscoe returns!
The Sussex County Chicken is all fired up, and he says the Word of the day is reunification! For Mark Briscoe is back with his boys and his girls, The Conglomeration! But he’ll put this plain and simple: Tommaso Ciampa! Next Wednesday, Briscoe’s after your ass, son! You hear him? But before that, Saturday Night Collision is in HIS hometown, Salisbury, Maryland! That’s just 4.4 miles from where Briscoe originated on this earth! They’re gonna conglomerate and it’s gonna be a a hell of a time! Are you ready!? Willow and Kyle are fired up, Briscoe goes wild, and the team heads out. Cassidy admits, that was a lot of yelling.
But while The Conglomeration is ready to go Double or Nothing, will they soon have even more gold in the collection? Or are these high and lofty a little too much even for them?
Six Woman Tag: Hikaru Shida & The Brawling Birds VS The Triangle of Madness!
With the news of both the AEW Women’s World Championship Fatal 4 Way for Double or Nothing, and the Owen Hart Cup brackets, this trios match is about much more than just settling scores! Will the Shining Samurai be just as sharp as Jamie Hayter going into that title match? Or will Thekla, Skye Blue & Julia Hart continue to bring them down by any means necessary?
The trios sort out and Jamie steps up against Thekla as both a rematch from their 1v1 title match, and a preview of what’s to come in the next. They circle, but then Skye CLOBBERS Jamie! Julia steps in, but so do Shida and Windsor! The Triangle throws hands on Shida & The Birds, then triple whip. But all three reverse, a BOOT for Thekla, a DDT for Skye, and a BACKBREAKER for Julia! The fans cheer as The Triangle bails out! Shida goes out to keep after Skye while Windsor goes after Julia. Jamie gets Thekla back in the ring while Shida and Windsor have the Sisters of Sin in the corners of the barriers. The fans cheer as they all rain down fists!
Windsor, Jamie & Shida all go to nine, then wind up for TEN! The fans cheer again while Thekla sputters. Jamie snap suplexes, but Skye ROCKS Shida! Jamie stomps Thekla, Windsor SLAMS Julia off barriers, and Jamie stomps a mudhole in the corner. The ref counts, Jamie lets off, but Skye and Windsor meet while tightrope walking the barriers! Skye and Windsor trade shots, they wobble a bit, then Skye DECKS Windsor! Skye keeps from falling into the crowd, but Jamie gets her! Windsor joins in and the Birds double gorilla press, SNAKE EYES off the apron! The fans fire up, but Thekla is up top! SUPER CROSSBODY onto The Birds!
The fans fire up again and Thekla is feeling it while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Thekla stomps Windsor, CLUBS Jamie, then helps Skye. But Shida runs up, only for Thekla to ELBOW her down! The Triangle has control again, they ROCK Jamie and Shida and Windsor, then send them all to the desk. The Triangle CHOP again and again and again! Then they wind up, but feint chops to SMACK all three off the apron! The Triangle soaks up the cheers and jeers before putting Jamie back in the ring. Thekla brings Jamie up, snapmares her down, then basement SUPERKICKS! Cocky cover, TWO! Thekla drags Jamie to the corner, tags Julia, and Julia runs up to LARIAT! Then she goes side to side to ELBOW Jamie down!
Julia snapmares Jamie to a cover, TWO! Julia is annoyed but she rains down fists. The ref reprimands, Julia stops, but then she sucker punches Windsor! And Shida, too! Julia then drags Jamie over, bumps her off buckles, and tags in Skye. Skye stomps Jamie around, then digs her boot in! The ref counts, Skye stops at 4, then she brings Jamie up. Jamie fires forearms and CHOPS, but Skye THROWS Jamie down by her hair! The ref reprimands again but Skye rains down forearms. Skye snapmares Jamie, mule kicks her, then covers, TWO! Skye frowns but she stomps Jamie down. Skye tags Julia while Dynamite returns to single picture.
Skye whips Jamie into Julia’s grasp, and Skye BLASTS Shida & Windsor while Julia tags Thekla. Julia has Jamie in the TARANTULA, and Skye sends Windsor in for Thekla’s HANGING HEADSCISSORS! Skye runs up to DOUBLE SHOTGUN The Birds! The fans are torn but Thekla says that’s how the Triangle does it, baby! Thekla then aims to MISSILE- NO, Jamie gest under! Thekla lands out, but Jamie BOOTS her down! Jamie looks at Shida, Shida is hesitant, but Shida tags in! The fans cheer as Shida sends Theknla to the corner, then JUMP KNEES! Shida keeps moving, she BLASTS Skye! Julia ROCKS Shida back!
Julia storms in but Shida kicks her and whips her into Thekla! Shida KNEES them both in the corner! Then Shida puts Thekla sideways in the corner, reels Julia in, and she snap suplexes Julia into Thekla! The fans fire up as Shida then suplexes Thekla high and hard! Cover, TWO! Shida stands Thekla up, Thekla swings but Shida ROCKS her first! And ROCKS her again! Thekla wobbles, swings, but Shida catches Thekla for another forearm! Shida runs the ropes but Thekla mule kicks! Thekla SMACKS Shida, then she dodges a boot to DECK Shida! Thekla talks trash on Shida, then drags her up to tag in Julia.
Julia tags Skye, then tag back to Thekla. The Sisters of Sin hit the DOUBLE GOURD BUSTER and DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! Thekla hits the bridge, and she aims for the SPIDER SPEAR! Cover, but The Birds CLOBBER The Sisters of Sin onto it! The fans fire up a Windsor DECKS Skye and Jamie HEADBUTTS Julia! The Birds drag Shida to safety, Windsor tags in, and she CLOBBERS Thekla! Windsor CLUBS away, then fires the fans up. Jamie steps in, BOOT RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP COMBO! Basement LARIAT! And then Windsor lifts! Jamie runs up, but Skye trips Jamie! The fans boo but Skye sends Jamie into steel steps!
Thekla sends Windsor into buckles! Tag to Julia before Shida runs up, TAMASHII KNEE on Thekla! Skye SUPERKICKS Shida! Jamie is back to clinch and HAYTBREAKER! Julia runs up, slips around, SOLE FOOD! Julia kips up, but Windsor is there to whip Julia to ropes! Skye tags in before the SPINEBUSTER! Skye SUPERKICKS Windsor, then brings her up! Skye hops on, CODE- NO, Windsor pops free! Skye SUPERKICKS again, but Windsor HEADBUTTS! The fans fire up as Jamie joins in again, and they DOUBLE LARIAT SANDWICH! Then they set Skye up, and Jamie says let’s try this again!
Jamie runs the ropes, but Thekla slides in, BELT SHOT on Jamie!! No question that the ref saw that! The Triangle is disqualified!
Winners: Hikaru Shida & The Brawling Birds, by disqualification
The Toxic Spider doesn’t care about this win, she just wants to do damage! Skye gets Windsor in a DRAGON SLEEPER! The ref stops Thekla from sing the title belt again, so Thekla just takes off her own belt! And she LASHES Windsor while Skye holds her down! More refs rush out here, but Julia MISTS the newbie in the face! Julia stomps away on Jamie, not caring about fines or consequences, either! The fans boo, and Shida is bailing on the Birds? Shida cares more about her chances in that Fatal 4 Way than anything else. But then Willow, Mina, and even Thunder Rosa rush out here! They chase The Triangle off with belts of their own!
The fans cheer as The Babe, the Fighting Gravure Idol & La Mera Mera save the day. But will Jamie make sure Thekla and Shida pay for this at Double or Nothing?
AEW World Championship: Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita!
They say “card subject to change,” and that is true even for the best in the world. Kazuchika Okada’s real family takes priority, but his Don Callis Family brother was more than happy to step up for this opportunity. Will The Alpha already have two belts by the time he and The Rainmaker battle over the International Championship? Or will Darby truly be relentless in his pursuit of being the best fighting champion in AEW history?
The introductions are made, THE belt is raised, and we see who goes to Double or Nothing on top!
Callis joins commentary to say that while Darby’s been breaking his own body, Konosuke has perfected “rejuvenation training,” aka relaxing on a beach and sipping sake! The bell rings, and Darby SHOTGUNS Konosuke out! Then Darby DIVES, but Konosuke catches him! Konosuke POSTS Darby, then THROWS him into railing! Konosuke THROWS Darby into the ring, the fans fire up for both guys, and Konosuke hurries to BOOT Darby off the apron! Darby falls in front of commentary but Konosuke gets him right back in the ring. Cover, ONE!! The fans rally as Darby shows his grit, but Konosuke snarls.
Konosuke drags Darby up, Darby fires forearms, but the ALPHA ELBOW knocks Darby down! The fans fire up while Konosuke looms over Darby. Konosuke stands Darby up, and THROWS him into a corner! Darby bounces off the buckles and is bleeding from the mouth already! Konosuke stands Darby up, hoists him up top, then he climbs up after him. But Darby BITES Konosuke, CLUBS him down, and leaps for a CROSSBODY, but he bounces off Konosuke! The fans fire up again as Konosuke whips Darby for a BACKDROP! Darby got serious hangtime there, and he flounders out of the ring. Darby coughs and sputters but the fans rally up.
Konosuke goes out after Darby but Darby SMACKS him! Konosuke KNEES low, KNEES him again and again and again! Konosuke KNEES Darby against the barriers, then refreshes the count. Konosuke whips Darby hard into railing! Darby sputters as he leans against the railing, but Konosuke positions the steel steps. Konosuke then fetches Darby, lines up a shot, but Darby fights the suplex! Darby CLAWS Konosuke’s back, then fires a shot. Konosuke DECKS Darby in return! Darby slumps against the steps, Konosuke runs up, but Darby dodges! Konosuke’s knees hit the steps and he tumbles over! Darby then runs up the steps to SHOTGUN Konosuke down!
The fans fire up while both men are down on the floor! Konosuke checks his knee before he crawls around, and Darby gets in the ring so he can build speed! Darby DIVES! Direct hit on Konosuke but Darby’s the one who hits the desk! The fans fire up while both men are down again, but Darby rises up to get Konosuke on the apron! Darby fires forearms, then goes up a corner! COFFIN- NO, Konosuke catches him for a SUPER BLUE THUNDER BOMB to the floor!! The fans go nuts again and Callis says that’s the end of Darby Allin, but Dynamite goes picture in picture.
The ref hurries to check Darby but Callis tells Doc Sampson to call it. Darby is somehow still in this, so Konosuke storms his way over. Konosuke drags Darby up, puts him in the ring, then paces around him. Konosuke runs the ropes to LARIAT! Darby flips inside-out, Konosuke covers him, TWO!! Darby still has fight inside but he’s also dazed. Konosuke clamps onto Darby with a chinlock and squeezes tight. Darby endures, even as Konosuke leans on him with his much-taller frame. Darby reaches out, fights around, and rises up, only for Konosuke to CANADIAN RACK BOMB! Darby sputters all over again while Dynamite returns to single picture.
Konosuke sits back as he watches Darby crawl to the apron. Konosuke storms his way over, but Darby RAMS low! Slingshot sunset flip, but Konosuke rolls through! Only for Darby to kick the legs out! Darby catches Konosuke to a GUILLOTINE! Konosuke endures the squeeze, fights up to his feet, and he powers out to THROW Darby! Darby lands out, fires shots, and RAMS low! Darby then hops on, but Konosuke stops Code Red! Konosuke swings Darby around, tucks him in, BASTARD DRIVER! And WHEELBARROW GERMAN! The fans fire up and Callis says that’s true power! Darby sputters again and Konosuke vows to end this.
Konosuke runs corner to corner, HELLUVA KICK!! Then he hoists Darby up top, climbs up after him, and goes to the very top! The fans freak out already for the SUPER DUPER GERMAN SUPLEX!! Bridging cover, TWO!!! Callis is freaking out as much as the fans, and he protests the count! Konosuke is furious, but he aims for the WAGAMAMA KNEE!!! Cover, TWO?!?! Darby survives by nanoseconds, and Konosuke is beside himself! “This is Awesome!” but now CLØN rushes out here! He distracts the ref, and Callis hurries to take the Dynamite Diamond Ring off his finger to put it in Konosuke’s hands! Konosuke thinks about it, but The Alpha has honor!
The fans cheer as Konosuke wants to do this his way! But then Darby runs up, cradles, TWO!! Konosuke escapes, ALPHA ELBOW!! Darby is down, dazed, but still moving! Konosuke drags Darby up again, goes back to the corner and back to the top rope. The fans hope these two “FIGHT FOREVER!” but it has to end somehow! Darby fights against the lift with headlock punches! Then he hops on, SUPER CODE RED!! Konosuke staggers up, Darby leg scissors, steps through, LAST SUPPER!! TWO?!?! Konosuke escapes again, then bails out! So Darby just goes up top! SUPER COFFIN DROP!! Direct hit and both men are down again!
The fans are thunderous as Konosuke and Darby stir. A ring count climbs, Callis complains that some people just gotta follow directions and run the play! Coach Callis pulled Konosuke outta obscurity, Konosuke would do anything! Now he’s got some gold, some fame, and gets a mind of his own! Callis complaining aside, the ring count is climbing! Darby drags himself in at 9, but Konosuke YANKS him back out! That refreshes the count, and Konosuke vows to end this for real now. Konosuke points to the steel steps, and he drags Darby up onto them with a deadlift RAGING- NO, Darby knees Konosuke, turns things around, and FULL METAL SCORPION DEATH DROP!!!
The fans go nuts again while Konosuke writhes! Konosuke flops off the steps, Darby crawls into the ring, and Darby just climbs the corner again! SUPER DUPER COFFIN DROP!!! Konosuke might be unconscious! Darby still hauls Konosuke into the ring, pushes him to a cover, TWO?!?!? Konosuke survives and Darby is furious! But Darby just reloads, COFFIN DROP but onto knees!!! Ghost pin, TWO!!! Darby escapes but the WAGAMAMA KNEE finds him!! Konosuke hauls Darby up, but Darby pops free! Trip, step through, and SCORPION DEATH LOCK!!! Konosuke endures, reaches out, but Darby sits deep!!
Callis says don’t even think about it! Konosuke almost does, but he bites his own thumb to ignore the pain in his back! Konosuke reaches out, crawls his way forward, and he fights to the ROPEBREAK!!! But Darby is right up top! COFFION DROP on the back!! Then Darby goes right back up, COFFIN DROP again!!! Cover, DARBY WINS!!
Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)
Callis is steaming, but Darby overcomes Konosuke to avenge that loss in the Continental Classic! But it also took so much out of him just to do it! Darby still asks for a mic and one is brought to him. Darby sits up against the ropes, has them cut his music, and he tells MJF to get his ass out here! There’s a contract MJF needs to sign! The ring crew hurries to bring in a table and some chairs for that very contract signing, and MJF makes his entrance. MJF reluctantly makes his way down the ramp, and both men meet at the table. Darby grins with blood still in hiss teeth, and he signs his part of the contract without hesitation, unlike MJF.
The fans already chant “BALD! BALD! BALD!” at MJF, and Darby pushes the contract to his side of the table. MJF grabs the pen, reaches out, but then steps away. MJF scratches his chin as he thinks on this, and the fans just chant, “BALD! BALD! BALD!” again. MJF takes a mic to say he’ll explain something to Darby, looking like he has rabies. But see, MJF is happy for Darby, he hopes Darby’s had fun holding MJF’s AEW World Championship. The fans boo that, but MJF says deep down, there is a small part of him, like the size of a North Carolinian p*nis small. That small part of MJF feels bad for Darby, because he’ll never hold this again!
Darby’s got about a good a chance of holding this title as Hangman Adam Page does again. MJF says guys like Darby are a dime a dozen, here today and gone tomorrow, stuntmen who burn the candle at both ends. In this life, people like all these fans here like to pretend that life is about making friends and family and children. The only thing that matters in life is your legacy. And Darby’s legacy will be that of the kid who had his 15 minutes of fame. They’ll pretend like Darby made a lasting impact, but the fact of the matter is, he hasn’t. He hasn’t! They’ll know deep down that Darby Allin was just a little pr*ck who got lucky.
They’ll know that Darby was too reckless and stupid to stay on top. And after May 24th, Double or Nothing, in that sh*thole of Queens, New York, y’know what MJF’s legacy will be? He’ll go down as the guy who became a THREE-TIME World Champion at just 30 years of age, unprecedented in this sport. And MJF will go down, when it’s all said and done, as the Greatest of All Time! THAT is the difference between them! Darby Allin brags about climbing a mountaintop. But when it comes to professional wrestling, Maxwell Jacob Friedman IS the mountaintop! The fans boo but MJF soaks it up. Darby tells MJF to SHUT UP!
Only someone like MJF who is so vain would think that the number one most important thing in this world is his legacy. Darby doesn’t care about legacy, he cares about living in the moment! And in this moment, Darby just wants MJF to sign the contract. Then at Double or Nothing, Darby makes Maxwell Jacob Friedman a BALLD HEADED B*TCH!! MJF frowns but the fans cheer that! MJF grabs the pen again, and with no choice, he signs on the dotted line! Then he TACKLES Darby! The fans boo as MJF beats up Darby after the war he went through with Konosuke! MJF CHUCKS an armchair outta the ring, FLIPS the table, then picks up his Dynamite Diamond Ring.
MJF puts the ring on his finger like always, then winds up to DECK Darby!! The fans boo but MJF just soaks it all up. MJF throws off his jacket, picks up the belt, and he stands over Darby with it. But then MJF isn’t done with Darby, he puts Darby on the top rope! MJF climbs up to join him, and drags Darby into position! But wait! Kevin Knight runs out here to chase MJF off! The Jet still owes The Scumbag a receipt, but it seems we’ll all have to wait on that. Will MJF still take back the title at Double or Nothing? Or will Darby keep the belt and take MJF’s dignity?
My Thoughts:
An awesome episode for Dynamite as things heat up towards Double or Nothing. Awesome 10 Man Tag to open, great win for the Faces, not that it added much to FTR VS C&C. Good promo from Jericho to look back on Stadium Stampede and hype up this year’s match. Good promo from The Demand with Davis and The Dogs, and I suppose this maximizes the feuds as well as the alliances throughout the locker room. Who knows who wins but the match will still be awesome, just as the original was. Good promo from Conglomeration, too, Cassidy & Roddy going after FTR while Kyle VS Moxley happens on the side, that’s great stuff.
Speaking of Moxley, great promo from him and Ospreay. Moxley’s semi-turn has really brought out his sage philosophical side. Great match from Ospreay VS Ace, and while Ospreay could always bring out his aggression, seeing him use more technical wrestling and even winning with a submission is good stuff. Good promo from Joe, and I liked Death Riders backing Ospreay up. Very good Owen Hart Cup brackets this year, Joe VS Ospreay is a great choice given this story, but I would think Ospreay wins that one. Good promo from Jack Perry to call out Davis, and I suppose Jack can win in the Owen Cup to then move on from the National title.
Great seeing Brian Cage back, he gave Knight an awesome match, but with JetSpeed wanting to go on a Two Man Power Trip, it makes sense Kevin won out. Same for Bailey beating Westbrook, even though Westbrook maybe went too hard on his own acrobatic escape. Great stuff in the Six Woman Tag, and I appreciate Shida didn’t ditch until after the match. Willow, Mina & Rosa might get their own Six Woman Tag with Triangle of Madness after that interaction, but also can’t wait to see if Willow can go back-to-back as Queen of Harts. For that matter, I personally would love to see Athena use the Owen Cup to move on from being ROH Women’s World Champion, but that depends on how Supercard of Honor goes this Friday.
And of course, another wild instant classic from Darby as he overcomes Takeshita. I knew the diamond ring would come into play with that reverse effect, good way of protecting Takeshita in the loss. Good stuff with MJF tonight, too, such as the opening segment’s parade of bald men to send the message to MJF. That was also a unique contract signing segment in that it came together so quickly after the main event match. Good stuff from MJF as always, and of course he attacks Darby. I feel like either Knight should not have made the save, or both parts of JetSpeed should’ve made the save. It just seems odd that only Knight cared about saving Darby. The closing moment was much better when it was MJF standing over Darby with the belt.
My Score: 9/10
