Eddie Kingston speaks.
“Ladies and gentlemen, there’s a very simple way that I live my life: It’s either you win, or you learn. You never lose. People can say, ‘Oh, but you tapped out to Joe, you lost to the world champion, blah blah blah.’ I learned from that. And now, what I really feel bad about is, uh, everyone else I have to face now after Joe. You’re gonna see what I learned. I never stop, I never quit, because I have nothing else in my life but this. Professional wrestling is my life, is my soul, is my everything. You think one loss is gonna bother me? Nah. I learn, and I move forward. I’ll see you all again. Maybe Collision? Someone has to step up and see what I learned.”
The Mad King is ready to fight again, who will be up next for his hero’s journey up the mountaintop?
PROGRAMMING NOTE!

Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
“World’s End is coming up a week from Saturday, where we will have a Three Way Match for the AEW World Championship. This is the official contract signing! Ladies and gentlemen, let’s bring in first of all, former world champion, Hangman Adam Page!” The fans cheer for “COWBOY SH*T!” as said Cowboy makes his entrance. Schiavone then welcomes out another former AEW World Champion, Swerve Strickland! Fans chant “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” as The Realest makes his entrance, Prince Nana grooving to the theme song as they go. And of course, THE AEW World Champion, Samoa Joe!
The fans are a bit more torn as the double champion walks out, accompanied by The Opps. Hangman storms up to Hook but Hobbs is right there, plus Schiavone reminds them of the No Physicality Agreement, this is just about signing the contract. Next Saturday, Triple Threat, World’s End, and what three men we have vying for this title. Are they ready to sign? Joe takes the mic to say he wishes Schiavone would just shut his big yapper. But now, gentlemen, he must apologize. As you see, he brought his colleagues with him, but that’s because when it comes to the equation of Hangman plus Swerve, the sum is always volatile and unpredictable.
Joe just wanted to make sure that everyone was safe, and that there was nothing out there to trigger anybody to do something stupid. Joe of course pats Hook on the shoulder and brings him in close to troll Hangman. So, gentlemen, he won’t waste any more of the champ’s time, and he signs on the dotted line. The fans still chant, “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Joe shouts over them, “I will see both these men at World’s End, I will walk out AEW Champion…! And gentlemen, I just hope you both make it there in one piece.” Swerve gets a mic to say it’s funny how Joe says all that, because he’ll reiterate again: He came back for the AEW World Championship.
Now if there was a different outcome at Full Gear, he’d be going after Hangman. But as he looks at them right now, after what Hangman and Swerve have been through, all the Hell they caused, there is mutual respect here in some weird way. The fans applaud that, and Swerve says on top of that, there’s mutual hatred for Samoa Joe! The last time they had a contract signing for that title, Joe put Swerve down so badly, Swerve needed to sign that contract in a pool of his own blood. Remember how he paid Joe back for that? Swerve took Joe’s title. The fans cheer that!
So now, Swerve has to jump through hoops and obstacles, so how’s he gonna pay Joe back for that? Swerve will take the championship! On top of that, Swerve will stomp the hell outta Joe, leaving a boot print on Joe’s face so bad, so permanent, so ugly, it’ll be worse than that fake face tattoo he had back in 2007. Joe says he’s impressed Swerve remembered that. Swerve says this is big boss energy! This is hard body Swerve! GOD BODY Swerve! So Hangman better bring the big guns, Joe better bring his army, because Swerve says right now, you cannot kill a god with bullets! Whose House?! “SWERVE’S HOUSE!”
Swerve signs his part, and Schiavone looks to Hangman. The fans chant “COWBOY SH*T!” as Hangman gets the mic. Hangman will remind both of them where they were in July. They weren’t fighting each other, they were fighting to free that world title from a briefcase, and to end the tyrannical BS of Jon Moxley and the Death Riders! The fans cheer that, and Hangman asks Joe how they figured that out. If they’d figured things out sooner, it could’ve easily been Joe challenging Moxley for the world title. And Swerve, if they’d just figured out they could fight together, if they could’ve figured it out sooner, then it could’ve just as easily been Swerve.
But at All In, WHEN they finally figured it out and fought together, it was neither Swerve nor Joe, but HANGMAN that got the job done! He did it and became the world champion! The fans also cheer that! Hangman knew as world champion, that one by one, each of them would find their way across the ring from him, and he would give them the opportunity they fought so hard for while alongside Hangman. Hangman gave Joe that opportunity at WrestleDream, and Joe FAILED! Joe lost! But instead of accepting defeat, he turned to Hobbs and Shibata, and even Hook. Joe turned into what he fought against! He is WORSE than the Death Riders on their worst day!
And Joe might stand here the world champion, but that’s all he really has. Joe has no self-respect, no sense of dignity, and admittedly, in the twilight years of his career, Hangman would hate for the legend of Samoa Joe to be remembered as this POS he is today. The fans chant that at Joe, but Joe says if anyone knows about s*it, it’s this godforsaken town! But Hangman says as world champion, he knew and planned on defeating Joe, on defending the title against everyone who helped him, from Darby Allin to Will Ospreay. The fans sing for Ospreay, and Hangman continues by saying that he knew there would come a time when once again, he’d stand across the ring from Swerve.
Hangman brings up that Swerve just said he came back just for the world champion, and if it wasn’t Joe, it would’ve been Hangman. Hangman expected nothing less. Hangman would’ve given Swerve the match Swerve had deserved. And if Swerve had won, Hangman would’ve accepted defeated and handed the title over to Swerve. But that is not the world we live in. That is not the AEW that they live in. At World’s End, this is a Triple Threat, and while Hangman can’t guarantee who leaves as champion, he more than guarantees that it will NOT be Joe! Joe has messed up worse than he knows in making an enemy of the two of them.
Hangman signs his part on the contract, and Schiavone says it is now official! In just ten days, World’s End, the Triple Threat for the- WAIT! The lights go down!? AND M J F IS BACK!! The fans sing along with the song as MJF struts out, kisses the Dynamite Diamond Ring and gets his sparkler pyro. The fans cheer as Maxwell Jacob Friedman goes to the ring, grabs himself his own contract, handed to him by Mark Sterling, and he writes something on it! Schiavone says MJF has just cashed in his GUARANTEED world title shot from the All-In Casino Gauntlet! This is now… A FATAL 4 WAY!! MJF says yeah, they get that, Schiavone, so get outta the ring, you tub o’ goo.
MJF sits back in a corner and says, “Now I’m sure a lot of you are wondering why a guy like me would willingly execute my contract knowing I’d have to face three men instead of one. Hi, Seabiscuit! Since the inception of this company, you’ve called me a coward. And while I had time off getting my stuff together, and filming a movie because unlike you, I actually am a star… I was festering over this. And eventually, I realized it, Hangy: Maybe you were right. The old me, I would’ve come back here, I would’ve taken every shortcut in the book just to get what I want. But that wouldn’t cut you deep, now would it?
“See, I need to hurt you, Cowboy! And I can’t think of a better way to do it than not just taking that title far away from you, but by doing it by beating you, and two of your biggest rivals, all in one fell swoop! That way, you and your fans have absolutely zero excuses.” Joe says this has been a wonderful little reunion- MJF shouts to shut up! Joe and MJF get face to face, but No Physicality is still in affect. MJF asks what’s wrong, Joe? You upset? You gonna quote me a big villain soliloquy, huh? MJF ain’t afraid of Joe anymore. But he does still hate him. When Joe took that title from MJF, the fans turned on MJF. They did! Let’s be honest!
But as much as it pains MJF to admit, they get to dictate who goes down as the all-time great. MJF doesn’t want to go down as an all-time great, he NEEDS to. And Joe holds that in question! The fans questioned MJF’s abilities! So guess what? “Your luck has run out, Sloppy Joe.” The fans chant “SLOPPY JOE!” and MJF says see, he’s about to make Joe fall back harder than his hairline. World’s End, the same place that Joe ended MJF’s reign, MJF ends Joe’s! The fans like the sound of that! Swerve tells “Gluteus Maximus,” if there’s anyone he should be afraid of, it’s Swerve. MJF says wow, y’know what? Fire bar, Shane. You remind him of this famous musician.
They both call themselves moguls, they both rock chains, they both rock way too much baby oil, and you are both dog sh*t rappers. The name slips MJF’s mind- Oh wait! It’s DIDDY! The fans chant “DIDDY! DIDDY!” But hey, hey, pop quiz: Whose House? “DIDDY’S HOUSE!” Well, yeah, let’s talk about that. We all know him as “Swerve,” but since MJF was 18 years old, grinding it out with him on the indies, MJF has known him as “Shane.” MJF went to AEW, he became the biggest homegrown star in the history of this company! But Shane went to WWE… Hey, fans, take it easy! It’s a perfectly good company! But Shane’s run there? Eh, not great.
But he must say, MJF enjoyed watching Swerve twerk for top dollar. Then Shane crossed the street, came knocking on MJF’s door, and MJF let him in. Shane achieved great things, got freakin’ jacked, and became a tag team champion! He beat Sloppy Joe for the world title and held it for a whopping 126 days! Not bad, huh? The fans do cheer that, and then MJF reminds us he had 406 but who’s counting? Listen, listen… Oh, Shane, Shane, Shane. See, now they have a problem. Swerve is in MJF’s way, biting the hands that feed him, and Swerve Stomping around like he owns the damn place! He’s a very messy tenant!
So no, this is not Swerve’s House. This is MAX’S House. The rent is due, and the Devil’s come to collect! Ladies and gentlemen, you can call him Michael Corleone, because in one night, MJF is about to handle all his family business. December 27th, Chicago, Illinois, World’s End, MJF gets back with is rightfully his: The Triple B, HIS AEW World Championship! And do all you folks happen to know why? The fans cheer, and MJF says it is because he is Maxwell Jacob Friedman, and he’s better than you, and you know it! Mic drop from the Scumbag as he snipes this title opportunity. But will he win now that the odds drastic go down?
“Speedball” Mike Bailey speaks.
“Things are tightening up in the Continental Classic, but the goal stays the same: It’s JetSpeed in the finals, so it’s time to lock in!” Kevin Knight steps in, and he says yeah, but he’s been icing up the last few days. Bailey put some extra mustard on those kicks the other day. Bailey says Knight made Bailey earn that win. Bailey is coming off the two biggest wins in his career: one of Kyle Fletcher, and the other off one of the best, Kevin Knight. Saturday night in Manchester, it’ll be Bailey VS Jack Perry! Knight says ride the momentum, but he wants to remind the people himself that he beat the man who climbed Mount Everest, Darby Allin.
Knight will take that same energy and bring it to Okada for the Saturday Collision! Soon, it will be #JetSpeedUp! But will that special bonus Holiday Bash be enough to elevate Bailey & Knight in the C2? Or will they be brought down to earth in Manchester?

Jon Moxley speaks.
Collision officially opens with The Maniac backstage as he says, “I like the Continental Classic. It’s simple. You step into the ring, under the lights, bring whatever you have, and everything gets laid bare. There’s nowhere to hide, and the deeper we get into this tournament, the more it reveals about somebody. Measured in guts and effort in the ring. And that’s what this was all supposed to be about from the beginning, man. I push people’s buttons. I antagonize people. I pull ’em along to where they don’t wanna be pulled. And it changes people.
“Some people react differently than others. Some people come at me harder, some people become monsters, like Kyle O’Reilly, who tried to pull my foot right off my body. You got a Roderick Strong, better than he’s ever been, for 19 and a half minutes. 30 seconds away from being SOL in this tournament. Uphill climb against the elite of the elite for the rest of this tournament. Whatever happens happens, I just want you to know, when it’s over, I didn’t leave any bullets in the chamber. I left it all out there. All of it.” Moxley heads out, will he run the gauntlet and find his way to World’s End?

It was a gritty showdown in Manchester, but Jamie wipes the sweat from her brow and shows Isla respect. But then THE TRIANGLE OF MADNESS ATTACKS! The fans boo as Skye & Julia mug Isla & Jamie, TOSS Isla out, and then drag Jamie up. DOUBLE GOURD BUSTER and DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! Jamie is down, and Thekla brandishes her belt! The Toxic Spider LASHES Jamie across the chest! And then across the back! But here comes Stat Daddy! The fans fire up as Kris slides in, dodges Skye, ROCKS Julia, but Skye SUPERKICKS Kris! Then they reel her in, but Kris DOUBLE SUPLEXES the Sisters of Sin!
The fans fire up, Thekla runs up, but Kris hits a BIG back suplex! Then a scoop and gut wrench! TOMBSTONE on Skye! The fans fire up for Kris, and she gets Julia up! Thekla is there, too, and Jamie runs up, only for Julia to get Thekla out of the way! LARIAT on Kris!! The Triangle of Madness scurries away, and Jamie just shrugs. Jamie is going after the AEW Women’s World Championship anyway, and she holds it up over Kris! The fans cheer, but will this be the sight we see in the Windy City? Or will Kris prove she IS The Galaxy’s Greatest?
AEW World Tag Team Championships: FTR w/ Stokely Hathaway VS Austin Gunn & Juice Robinson!
Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood may be the historic THREE-TIME AEW World Tag Team Champions, but they still lost to “Billy’s Boy” and “Toni’s Husband” back in November. By linear succession, that made Austin & Juice the #1 contenders to FTR’s newest reign, and these teams are about to bash it up! But will FTR still be Top Guys? Or by order of the Bang Bang Gang, will we have new tag team champions tonight?
The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and we see who brings the gold home for the holidays!
The teams sort out, Cash tries to get the jump on Austin, but he’s ready. The fans sing for “Austin Gunn! Austin, Austin Gunn~! LALALA LALA LA!” The two tie up, Cash shoves Austin away, and still doesn’t take him seriously. Austin says, “GUNNS UP!” and the fans cheer. Cash and Austin circle, tie up again, and Cash waistlocks. Austin wrenches to wristlock, but Cash rolls, slips around, and wrenches back. Stoke applauds but Austin wrenches back and wristlocks. Austin headlocks, Cash powers up and out, then hurdles, drops down, and gets up, only for Austin to RUN him over! The fans cheer and Austin wrenches again.
Tag to Juice, Juice climbs up, and he AX HANDLES the arm! The fans cheer for Juice as he keeps Cash from Dax again and again and then wrangles him! Juice wrenches, Dax grabs Cash’s other hand, and the ref counts. Dax lets go at 4, the ref reprimands him, but this lets Cash CLAW Juice’s face! The fans boo but Cash brings Juice around to bump off buckles. Tag to Dax, the fans sing “JUICE! THERE IT IS!” Dax bumps Juice off buckles, then CHOPS! The fans boo, but Dax UPPERCUTS! And UPPERCUTS again! The ref counts, Dax puts Juice up top, but Juice fires elbows back. Juice then rolls back, ducks a shot, and O’Conner Rolls, TWO!
But Juice goes up to CROSSBODY! Cover, but Cash breaks it! Juice atomic drops Cash for it, then LARIATS him up and out! Stokely distracts the ref, Juice wrenches but Dax reverses to whip. Dax drops down, and Cash trips Juice up! The fans boo again but FTR gets away with one! Austin protests, Cash slips in, but Austin stops the double suplex! FTR mugs Austin, then whip him to the corner. Dax sends Cash in, but Austin dodges! Austin traps Cash, dodges Dax, then hurries away! Juice is up top, he DOUBLE CROSSBODIES FTR! Then Austin DECKS Cash, DECKS Dax, and Juice picks Cash up to trip him!
Juice CATAPULTS Cash up and out and Cash lands on the floor! Stoke checks Cash while FTR regroups, and Collision goes picture in picture.
Juice tags Austin, he gets the fans fired up again, and Stoke fans Cash off. Austin chases Stoke off, puts Cash in, and then fires JAB after JAB! Then he winds up, GUNNS UP, and he DECKS Cash! Cash comes back, but Austin wrenches and COMPLETE SHOTS! Cover, ONE!! Cash toughs it out but Austin stands him up. Austin grinds the arm, waistlocks, but Dax tags in before the O’Conner Roll! BULLDOG! Dax soaks up heat, then goes back to Austin to stomp him down. Dax drops a leg, then the elbow, then the FALLING HEADBUTT! Cover, TWO! Dax stays cool as he stays between Austin and Juice. Then he stomps Austin’s hand!
Dax puts Austin on ropes, CHOKES him, and Stoke talks trash! The ref counts, Dax stops at 4, and Austin sputters. Dax soaks up more heat, basement DROPKICKS Austin, then clamps on with a chinlock. Austin endures, fights up, and reaches out. Austin fires body shots, runs the ropes, but Dax catches him to a COBRA TWIST! Austin endures, but FTR pulls the ol’ link-up trick! The fans protest, as does Juice, but the ref misses it. Stokely applauds FTR’s own cleverness while Holiday Bash returns to single picture. FTR link up again, the ref misses it, and they even fake a tag with a clap! Cash puts Austin in the COBRA TWIST, and Austin continues to endure.
The ref realizes he didn’t see a tag, this shouldn’t count! The fans cheer, but Dax just gets Austin up. Austin cradles, but Cash distracts! The fans boo as Austin has this won twice over! Juice rolls Dax up, bridges, TWO!??! Dax escapes in time and the fans are thunderous!
Dax rises up, Juice runs in and LARIATS at the corner! Juice puts Dax up, HEADBUTTS, then climbs up to join him. The fans sing for Juice, but Dax BITES Juice’s face! Juice falls back, Austin gets in! Austin ROCKS Dax! Austin fires up, the fans are with him, and Dax climbs! Juice goes to the other corner, and they take a page outta FTR’s book: SUPERPLEX for the Power! Dax survives multiple shots and no one can believe it!

Juice sputters, FTR sets up, and Juice flounders out of the corner. But Austin is back!? Austin TRIPS Cash, and YANKS him into the POST! Dax lifts, Juice fights free! Juice swings, Dax ducks! Dax swings, Juice ducks! LEFT HAND O’ GOD!! Then FAMOUSER! Austin shouts do it, and Juice covers, CASH GIVES DAX THE ROPEBREAK!!! The fans boo as FTR survives, but the belts are already being handed over! The ref explains to everyone that no, the match continues!
The fans call BS but this is classic FTR! And then FTR CHOP BLOCKS the Bang Bang Gang! They get Juice set up, figure four and the KNEE DEMOLISHER!! They haven’t done this since NXT! And then TRAILER HITCH!! Juice endures, he reaches out, but Cash intercepts Austin! The fans boo, but Juice TAPS!! FTR WINS!
Winners: FTR, by submission (still AEW World Tag Team Champions)
Another highway robbery from the wily Cash & Dax! But if this is what it took to keep the Bang Bang Gang down, will this reign last all that long? Or will no one ever take these Top Guys out?
My Thoughts:
An awesome Holiday Bash for AEW, a very frontloaded Dynamite, and obviously we’re getting a prerecorded portion for the one hour of Collision early on Saturday. A lot of great build towards World’s End with a truly surprising twist. MJF’s return right during the contract signing to bring out the Casino Gauntlet contract (which I honestly forgot was still valid) and giving us a Fatal 4 Way is some wild stuff. But with everyone getting to say their part (for a segment that was perhaps a little too long), all the motivations are clear and logical. I wasn’t sure who was winning under the Triple Threat, now I’m really unsure with the Fatal 4 Way, but that’s half the fun.
Awesome Six Man Tag for the kayfabe money prize, and as I figured, Okada and Takeshita cost each other the win here. The Elite get the money, and part of me hopes this is the blowoff, even with it being on TV. Okada and Takeshita have the C2 to worry more about, and I’m still hoping we get more of a Don Callis Family VS Death Riders thing in the next phase. Fletcher VS Pac was also awesome, and a great surprise in Pac winning to further tie up the block. Moxley VS Roderick was also a great match, but I figured Moxley was winning that. Great promo from Moxley as the buffer between Dynamite and Collision, and something about what he said and how he said it made me think he was resetting back to the Face Moxley he was during the Blackpool Combat Club days.
Cassidy VS Dorada was also a great C2 match to get Collision going. Great win for Cassidy but Dorada is definitely a top star no matter how you look at it. And good promo from JetSpeed, too, though I sadly don’t see a JetSpeed C2 finals happening. The logical move has and still is Okada and Konosuke fighting to not just be Continental Champion, and not just a double champion, but to prove they are THE best tournament wrestler, among other things. Though at the same time, they gotta be ready for WrestleKingdom on January 4th, maybe AEW takes that into consideration for their plans…
One thing that I somewhat dreaded as Mercedes Mone going for the tag titles. That was a great 8 Woman Tag, but Mone got the win, she and Athena had their promo, and the match is set. Though here’s hoping whoever faces Mone on Saturday snags the Rev-Pro Women’s title from her to chip away at her confidence. Or her sanity, whichever comes first. As for the tag title match, I could see Mone & Athena falling apart as a team and that helps Willow & Harley win. Ironically, Athena needs tougher, more established competition, could Mone try to go after the ROH Women’s World Championship to make up for the other belts she’s lost? Ugh…
Very good promo from Eddie to more or less move on from The Opps, though not quite the direction I expected. Very good match from Jamie VS Isla, but of course Jamie won. I did not think The Triangle of Madness would attack but of course they do, they don’t let go of grudges. Kris showing up for the save was good stuff, as was the “accidental” shot on her from Jamie. As great as Jamie is, I don’t see Kris losing so soon into this reign with how long and hard she fought to get here. And either way, Thekla has got to be next in line even then so she can finally settle scores with someone.
AEW battle royals are a lot of fun, but they maybe overuse the loophole of going under the ropes. Like, just stay in the ring and fight it out, man. But even so, great stuff with this year’s Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal, and I’m a little surprised Bandido was even in the match. Ricochet and Bandido as the last two is good stuff, though, and we’ll have an awesome match from them “next week” (it’s actually happening on Saturday, the Christmas episodes are being prerecorded, too), and either one of them could win since we don’t even know who will be champion past World’s End. But Bandido and Ricochet both make great choices for facing any one of those four, Maximum Carnage will be awesome stuff.
The tag title match being the main event was a little surprising, but I guess that’s what makes the Bang Bang Gang the Collision Cowboys. Great match either way, really good work on those false finishes. But of course, FTR found a way to survive with cheating, no titles for Bang Bang Gang tonight. Not sure if there will be a team to challenge FTR at World’s End with only a week to figure that out, maybe FTR gets to coast for the holidays and start strong again in 2026. Though for all we know, TK will bust out a crazy idea to determine contenders like he always does.
My Score: 9/10

The Death Riders speak.
It was after AEW Dynamite on Wednesday that Jon Moxley said, “Every time I step into the ring with Kyle O’Reilly, I can’t find a way to win. It’s been failure after failure after failure. Kyle O’Reilly has tapped me out, twice. Ipso facto, Kyle O’Reilly will be the new Continental Champion. You might think. But the Jon Moxley of six months ago is not the same as Jon Moxley of today. Who I will be tomorrow is better than who I am today. Logic and strategy would dictate that I should stay as far away from Kyle O’Reilly as I can. Because there’s no doubt about it, Kyle, you have my number.
The thing about this Continental Championship, it’s good bait. All the dragons I wanna slay come right to my door. I will do what I’ve done for 22 years surviving in this business, Kyle: I’m gonna find a way.” The Maniac heads out, and Claudio Castagnoli steps forward to tell Brody King that Brody always brings the bark. But if he steps in the ring with Claudio in the Owen Hart Tournament, he better bring the bite. Pac then says, “Nobody gets special treatment. It doesn’t matter who you are, Death Riders against the world.” Daniel Garcia says yeah, let’s get it! Yuta repeats, “Against the world.” Marina Shafir tells the world, “Bring it, you p*ssies!”
AEW World Trios Championship Eliminator: The Conglomeration VS Lee Moriarty & The Infantry w/ Shane Taylor Promotions!
Well speaking of Kyle O’Reilly, he, Orange Cassidy, and the returning Mark Briscoe are going to put STP to the test! #TAIGASTYLE is still ROH Pure Champion, but Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo are upset after losing the ROH World Six Man Tag titles. Will STP take out their frustrations as they rumble, bad man, rumble? Or will the Violent Artist, Freshly Squeezed & Sussex County Chicken simply send #THEM home emptyhanded?
The trios sort out and Briscoe steps up against #BadNews&Tattoos. The fans are behind Briscoe as he and Bravo circle. They approach, Bravo kicks low, and he flips everyone off. Dean then BLASTS Briscoe & Kyle! The ref reprimands but that just lets Bravo CHOKE Cassidy! The ref reprimands Bravo now as Collision returns to single picture. Dean asks, “Is this camera on me? B! B! C!” BRONCO BUSTER CAPTAIN! Dean bounces, Bravo says if you see Cap in that corner, yo’ ass is a goner! Dean drags Cassidy up, tags Bravo, and Dean sends Bravo in for the SPLASH! Will Ospreay speaks.
It was also after Dynamite that The Aerial Assassin told Samoa Joe, “My apologies for not getting back to any of your messages, been a little bit busy training and getting myself ready for The Owen. Surprised to see you there in the opening round, mate. It’s gonna be a tough one. But if you can just bear with me for a hot second while I explain to you… Six months of my life got taken away from me, mate. Six months, I’ve been sitting in front of a TV screen, watching AEW, looking at it, trying to get my strength back in my arms, rushing to get back. That’s six months of frustration, six months of anger. And then I finally had my kill shot on Dynasty, and I lost.
“And ever since then, man, I’ve been struggling with my matches. Doc even stopped one for my own safety. I’m annoyed that I didn’t get revenge on Jon. But I’m more upset at the idea that I can’t be the guy that AEW put their trust in once upon a time. Regardless of how I feel about Jon, regardless of how I feel about The Death Riders, there’s nothing that I can say that’ll make people ever understand. But Jon Moxley is the Ace, he’s a soldier for this place. And while his methods might be sick, there are people who stand up to see him get elevated. So what could it happen with him in my corner?
“Joe, I’ve got nothing but respect for ya. Everything that you’ve done in this industry. Mate, you were in the match that made me want to become a pro-wrestler. But no one, no one, is stopping me from winning The Owen. And I find it very poetic that the man takt took away my old life has given me a second chance of capturing the world championship.” The Billy Goat is ready to become something more, but will Samoa Joe make sure Ospreay goes Double or Nothing and loses?
Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.
Lexy Nair congratulates them on their win tonight, and brings up that Moxley has accepted Kyle’s challenge. Kyle says yes, Moxley is right, Kyle has his number. But facing Moxley has been the biggest test of Kyle’s career, so what’s one more test? This Wednesday, it’s a title eliminator, and after Kyle makes Moxley submit again, he is putting all his chips in and goes Double or Nothing! Briscoe says damn right, Kyle. And speaking of Dynamite, Tommaso Ciampa, Briscoe put it plain and clear, but he hasn’t heard a word from Ciampa! If Ciampa’s scared, he should just say it! Cassidy says Willow needs to say something.
Willow says sure, okay. Great job, guys, really. But for her, Double or Nothing, it will be TRIPLE or nothing, because she has THIS bad boy, the TBS Championship! But she’s also coming for The Owen, and the World Championship! As for tonight, Red Velvet may have beaten Willow to qualify for The Owen, but that won’t happen tonight. Welcome back to AEW, time to meet the Comeback Killer. Lexy says by the way, that match is next. Willow fires up, hurries off to make her entrance, but will she be ready to cook with The Chef?

Lexy Nair is with The Spanish God and brings up how he called out Darby Allin just last night at Supercard of Honor for the AEW World Championship. But just like last night, Sammy hushes “Chica” Lexy, and says, “Everybody’s Favorite Pillar is about to talk, so zip it and listen. Darby, I don’t need to call my shot against you because I looked through the history books, and history’s on my side. I’ve beaten you not once, not twice, not three times, I’ve beaten you four times. When I look at the history books, I’m a three-time TNT Champion while you, you’ve only held that belt twice.
“So I’m gonna beat you tonight like I’ve beaten you before. I’m gonna stamp my ticket to Double or Nothing, and MJF, I know you’re watching, you sociopath. I’m gonna beat you next week and I’m gonna shave you BALD! But don’t worry, I’ll give you a nice little fade. Because I am the best! I am the best wrestler, I am the best talker, I am the best this planet has! I’m the Spanish God, dammit! I’m number one, I’ve been here since day one, and there’s only one way this is gonna go: With me as the NEW AEW World Champion! Darby, your time is up, and my time is now. Because I am Numero Uno. COFFIN DROP!!! Cover, DARBY WINS!
Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)
As if his reign wasn’t wild and reckless before, Darby just doubled down with Sammy here tonight! And yet, he’s now set for a showdown with Speedball in Portland! Will no one and nothing stop Darby Allin from doing this again and again? Or is he about to write a check his body can’t cash?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision that not only fed Double or Nothing but did a great job following up ROH Supercard of Honor, assuring fans that ROH does matter after all, despite the lack of building contenders and therefore new champions. I mean, Athena is STILL champion, even when Survival of the Fittest was the best way to dethrone her while protecting her. But good interaction from Athena and Mina ahead of their Owen Hart Cup match, and if Athena is going to still be champion even now, she might as well just be a finalist already. On the other end, it’d be great if Willow also got to the finals to potentially be a two-time Queen of Harts.
Speaking of Willow, great promo with Conglomeration, great match with Red Velvet, but with Velvet still the ROH Women’s World TV Champion, it makes sense that Willow retains her title. Great Six Man Tag from Conglomeration VS Shane Taylor Promotions, and The Conglomeration’s win helps them build momentum towards all their stories. Very good promo from Kyle, very good promo from Death Riders, and I feel like Kyle should at least last the 20 minute time limit to earn his title match with Moxley for Double or Nothing. Meanwhile, Cassidy & Roddy are NOT winning against FTR, FTR has to settle things with Cope & Christian first.
Ciampa going after Briscoe, that whole brawl, and then Briscoe upping the ante for Dynamite, that No Disqualification match is going to be awesome. Very good tag match of Joe & Bowens VS Lethal & Lee, with a good win for The Opps. Very good promo from Joe & Bowens after, and a very good promo from Ospreay, too. Joe VS Ospreay could be a show stealer, but I would think Ospreay wins so that his story with The Death Riders can be part of the Owen Cup. TayJay being back together is great, and I can see them going right at Divine Dominion and easily lasting the five minutes to then earn their title match later on.
Great Six Man Tag of Davis & Dogs VS Rascalz, but with Stadium Stampede looming, naturally Davis & Dogs won to bring momentum for their team. I’d expect The Demand to have their own tune-up for the three-hour super show go-home next week, but they might’ve announced that tonight if that were the case. Very good promo from Lio Rush to further this Jekyll & Hyde/Smeagle & Gollum type of gimmick for him. For those who didn’t watch Supercard (or haven’t read my article on it), Action Andretti turned on Lio Rush and partially blamed Lio’s new dark side for it. RIP CRU, we hardly knew you, but Action VS this Lio is going to be great stuff between AEW and ROH programming.
And of course, another insane instant classic from Darby Allin as he and Sammy use No Count Outs to get hardcore. Good bit of selling from Darby to tease his body giving out on him, but naturally he wins out. They might do a similar spot during his match against Speedball on Wednesday to make it seem MJF has a chance of taking the title at Double or Nothing.
My Score: 8.9/10

MJF arrives backstage.
Renee Paquette is there to bring up tonight’s main event is Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW World Championship. If Darby Allin wins, MJF will then have to sign a contract for Title VS Hair at Double or Nothing. Darby has made it clear that if MJF doesn’t sign said contract, Darby will never allow MJF to face him for the title again. We all know how important the title is for MJF, but is MJF willing to put his hair on the line for it? MJF just chuckles and moves on, but he notices the very bald Rick Knox, Bryce Remsburg, and the head of security, David Aponte. And then various bald members of the production staff…
And then even Christopher Daniels & Sonjay Dutt are there! Daniels and Sonjay chuckle before moving on, and then MJF sees John Silver flexing. Brandon Cutler, some arena staff, and even Tommaso Ciampa, all bald. Then last but certainly not least, Ricochet! He tells MJF that don’t worry, he’ll look great. Just not as good as Ricochet. AHA~! MJF storms off, will he have no choice but to choose between gold belt and chrome dome?
10 Man Tag: Orange Cassidy, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage & The Young Bucks VS Tommaso Ciampa, David Finlay, Clark Connors & FTR w/ Stokely Hathaway!
While we know the AEW World Tag Team Championship match will be a conglomeration of I Quit Match and New York Street Fight, THE Conglomeration will be waiting on the other side for their own tag title match. And let’s not forget that Matt & Nick Jackson want their own shot at those titles again. With that, can Freshly Squeezed work together with C&C and The Bucks? Or will the Psycho Killer, the Dogs, and the Top Guys all stand tall on the road to Double or Nothing?
The teams sort out and the teams just brawl it out! The fans cheer as The Bucks have The Dogs, Cope is after Ciampa, Christian is after Cash, and Dax brawls with Cassidy! Cassidy kicks and kicks but Ciampa drags him back! Cassidy turns to BOOT Ciampa away! Dax tags in and he CLOBBERS Cassidy! The fans boo but Dax flips them off. Dax whips Cassidy, runs up, but Cassidy dodges! Dax POSTS himself! Both men are down, hot tags to Cash and Nick! Nick rallies on FTR with haymakers, BLASTS Ciampa, but Cash kicks low! FTR whips, DOUBLE HIP- NO, Nick lands out, MEETING OF TEH MINDS! Then DOUBLE WHEEL KICK! The fans fire up as Nick then DROPKICKS Dax out! The Dogs run up, but Nick knuckle locks and CHOPS Finlay! Then Nick jumps over Connors, SUPERKICKS, and he goes for the corner!

The fans are electric and it’s not just the volt green! Time for a SUPERKICK PARTAY~! Wait, Stokely grabs a foot each! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Stoke can’t even trip The Bucks up. DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for Ciampa!
The fans fire up again, and The Bucks see C&C. They point to Christian, and the fans cheer! Christian steps in, the ref reprimands but Cope argues with the ref. This distraction lets Christian LOW BLOW Cash! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for Cash! Christian covers, TWO! Cash survives, the fans boo, but Christian rains down fists while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Christian puts Cash in the corner to CHPO, CHOP, and then rain down fists! Christian goes past TEN, maybe to fifteen, then stops. Cash sputters, Stoke talks trash, but Christian grabs Stoke! Cash CLUBS Christian, Ciampa HOTSHOTS the bad arm, and Ciampa hurries to tag in. Ciampa drags Christian around, SLAMS the bad arm off the mat, then SLAMS the arm again! Ciampa POSTS Christian, and Christian falls to the apron. The ref keeps his eyes on the rest of the team so they stay back. Ciampa goes out, and he SWINGS the bad arm into the post! Christian scrambles away, clutching the arm, but Ciampa taunts Cope with a wave.

Winners: Orange Cassidy, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage & The Young Bucks, by pinfall
Another star-studded 10 Man Tag, and it was a huge win for all the hungry contenders. Christian doesn’t wanna celebrate, but he does signal that he and Cope will be champions. Will putting their tag team legacy on the line be enough to take the gold? Or will Double or Nothing be the last night that team reeks of awesomeness?
Will Ospreay continues to train with The Death Riders.
They’re outside this time, Claudio Castagnoli playing some wall ball with Marina Shafir and Pac. Daniel Garcia says, “Tonight is the night that we’ve all been waiting for: The Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, is cleared and back on Dynamite. And rumor has it, the kid’s been working real hard and he’s got some new tricks up his sleeves. So Young Boy Billy, tonight you gotta show me something, c’mon.” Garcia gets a quick turn in on wall ball while cameras move over. Ospreay is maintaining a neck bridge while Jon Moxley uses Wheeler Yuta as a living dummy to show just how to push and pull and bend and twist on the various chinlocks and headlocks.
Use the right arm to push against the head, then snake in the left arm for the sleeper. Pry and shoot. Moxley asks how Ospreay feels. Ospreay lets off the bridge and says honestly, the best he’s felt in forever. Moxley asks if Ospreay remembers the night he won the Best of the Super Juniors. Yeah, 2019. AKA a lifetime ago. Ospreay was carefree, flew like a bird, for no other reason than that’s just what birds do. So simple back then, chasing that feeling, like no other feeling in the world. Can’t really grab it in your hands for more than a few seconds. The joy of doing it. Then everybody comes in and tries to make it so overcomplicated.
Years pass, life happens, a family starts, responsibilities show up, bad things happen, bad choices catch up to you, and it’s all weight on your shoulders. You feel like you can’t fly. But Moxley will tell you something: Nothing is different. Nothing has changed. All those things are still gonna be there, but you can still fly. You’re just more dangerous now. You’re a bird of prey. So tonight, when you got out there, don’t go out there to protect anything. Not your neck, your image, your reputation, or what you’ve built in your career. Go out there to give something. Moxley checks on Yuta and says dammit, if you’re gonna snap a headlock, snap the headlock!
Moxley storms off to instruct his pupil, but will Ospreay use everything he has been taught to great effect? Or will he have to fold against Ace Austin?
Chris Jericho speaks.
“You wanna face Jericho in a match of my own design, Ricochet? A spectacle so innovative, so imaginative, it cannot be contained, it can only be witnessed. Well, be careful what you demand, because you’ve made a few enemies yourself, Ricochet. And now a match designed specifically to settle scores without any, and I mean AAANY~, limitations has gotten even bigger.” Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate were just looking for two more, but “Jungle” Jack Perry said he can bring four: himself, The Young Bucks, and KENNY OMEGA! Jericho tells Ricochet that this is no longer what he designed, but it is a devil’s dance of destruction! Ricochet’s destruction!
Ricochet got what he wanted, now can he handle it? Bald. The first-ever SEVEN VS SEVEN Stadium Stampede, who will even survive?
Ricochet & The Demand respond.
They stand with Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family and Ricochet says we all know Jericho does a lot of talking out of his ass while The Demand gets things done. Just like Davis did when he defeated Jack for the AEW National Championship at Fairway to Hell. Hold it with pride, Davis, Ricochet knows you’ll do it well. Davis says he’s got this. Ricochet says Davis has joined the dream team, but he’s not the only one. Because compliments to Ricochet’s golfing buddy, Don Callis, look who else he’s sending: Andrade El Idolo! Gracias, amigo. But it doesn’t stop there, the train keeps rolling. Ricochet was just approached by two guys who have an ax to grind with the superkick sidekicks.
These two wanna fill out the last two spots, so who is Ricochet to say no to The Dogs? Finlay & Connors storm in, and Finlay says to put it simple, they will fight The Bucks in the streets, in the ring, but guess it’s fighting at Double or Nothing! If they want violence, if they want carnage, if they want chaos, who better than The Dogs?! The Dogs bark and Liona roars, but will these seven stand tall in the Big Apple?
“Speedball” Mike Bailey w/ Kevin Knight VS BK Westbrook!
JetSpeed has a lot of momentum on their side, and as stated last week at Fairway to Hell, they’re looking to grab up all the gold they can. Will Speedball keep on rolling towards his own golden opportunity? Or will #Supastud prove his own worth?
The bell rings and the fans rally as the two step up. Bailey bows in respect, offers a handshake, but Westbrook goes to roll Bailey up! Bailey stays on his feet, then steps over to sit down on a cover, TWO! Westbrook ducks a Penalty Kick, avoids the moonsault, and the sweep! Bailey dodges, Westbrook tiger feints through the ropes, but Bailey handsprings up and over! The fans fire up as Bailey ducks an elbow to whip. Westbrook goes up, around, but kinda fumbles his tumble. The fans cheer and jeer him for his attempt, but Westbrook blocks the boot! Westbrook FLIPS Bailey, springboards in, but Bailey dodges! TIME ADVENTURE!
Bailey pushes Westbrook down, goes up the corner, and the fans fire up for the ULTIMATE WEAPON! Cover, Bailey wins!
Winner: Mike Bailey, by pinfall

The fans are torn as Cage hauls Knight up. Cage ROCKS Knight, CHOPS him, then CHOKES him on the ropes! The ref counts, Cage stops at 4, then Cage stalks Knight. Cage stands Knight up, whips him to the corner, then runs in, only for Knight to BOOT! Cage still LARIATS!
Cage hauls Knight up, whips him to ropes, but Knight grabs ropes. Knight DUMPS Cage out, then DROPKICKS him down! Cage sputters, the fans fire up, and Knight builds speed to DIVE! But Cage ELBOWS Knight, whips, but Knight jumps up! SATELLITE- NO, Cage goes for ropes! Knight HOTSHOTS Cage for it! Then Knight springboards back in, MISSILE DROPKICK! The fans fire up while both men are down! A standing count starts while the fans rally up. Cage goes to a corner but he runs up on Knight. Bailey brings mics into the ring to say, “Congratulations to The Jet on a hell of a win!” Knight says much appreciated. But like he said, they’re red hot right now! And Brian Cage, welcome back! Cage took Knight to his limits, but The Jet is still standing as TNT Champion. But Knight can’t get over how last week, he couldn’t get the job done becoming #Jet2Belts. Bailey says forget last week. Knight IS a future AEW World Champion! Bailey says he knows it, and everyone here knows it! The fans cheer that!

And Darby, as much as Bailey wants to see MJF go bald…! Bailey is coming for Darby’s AEW World Championship! JetSpeed daps it up, will they become a 2 Fly 2 Man Power Trip?
AEW reveals the Men’s Owen Hart Memorial Tournament Brackets!
This year’s tournaments will go through Double or Nothing, and the finals will coincide with Forbidden Door 2026 on Sunday, June 28th in San Jose, California! The winner of each tournament will then challenge for THE AEW World Championship and AEW Women’s World Championships on August 30th at All In: London! And so, for the opening round, it will be: “Jungle” Jack Perry VS Mark Davis; Claudio Castagnoli VS Brody King; then Double or Nothing has both Samoa Joe VS Will Ospreay, and Swerve Strickland VS Bandido!
“Jungle” Jack Perry speaks.
“Mark Davis… I’m sure you feel some congratulations are in order. But you’re not champion to me. You see, you’re built like an Australia grizzly bear, yet you still needed somebody to hit me in the back with a golf club for you to beat me. At Stadium Stampede, bring your friends, bring any weapon you want, and I will crack you over the skull with it. Because anything goes. But after that, it’s back to grass roots, because it is you and me, fighting for a shot at the world title at All In: London. And in the Owen Hart Tournament, I will prove to you beyond a shadow of a doubt that I’m a better wrestler than you. I am the FUTURE world champion!
“And if you don’t like that, F YOU!” Jungle Jack is sharpening his knife, but will his edge be razor sharp when it comes time to cut down Dunkzilla?
Will Ospreay VS Ace Austin!
We’ve seen the Aerial Assassin training with The Death Riders, he’s won gold with his old friends in The United Empire, and now he’s about to face a dangerous man at Double or Nothing. Will Ospreay be more than ready for Samoa Joe after tonight? Or will he fail to even get past The Inevitable?

Winner: Will Ospreay, by submission
That might’ve been Ospreay’s first win by submission ever! He signals that his neck is no longer a problem, and he shows Ace respect for that fight. Ace accepts the handshake again, and Ospreay is moving on towards Double or Nothing with a great amount of momentum. But wait! SAMOA JOE is here! He and The Opps walk out on stage, and with mic in hand, Joe says, “Ospreay, Ospreay… OSPREAY, OSPREAY!” Joe is clearly mocking the chants for Ospreay, and the fans give genuine chanting and even singing in return. Joe says he just wanted to make sure Ospreay was listening, because these past few weeks, it seemed like Ospreay had a hard time hearing him.
Despite Ospreay’s best efforts, fate has put them on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Cup. The fans like the sound of that! Joe say she is here for one reason and one reason alone. He wants to speak about choices and consequences. Ospreay could’ve made the right choice and get a bye in this tournament, because that is what Joe would do for one of his friends. But Ospreay chose poorly. He could’ve been with the team that would do nothing but support and enhance Ospreay, but he decided to be a lapdog for Moxley and the Death Riders. The fans boo, Ospreay says he’s not a Death Rider.
Joe says Ospreay has made his choice, and come Double or Nothing, Joe makes Ospreay suffer the consequences. But Joe leaves Ospreay in peace tonight, for he has his date with destiny. But unfortunately, Joe’s friends, Katsuyori Shibata & Anthony Bowens, still feel slighted, and he doesn’t put leashes on his friends. Shibata & Bowens storm down the ramp, Ospreay ready to fight them both if he has to. But then The Death Riders appear! Ospreay may not have officially joined the club, but the Death Riders aren’t going to let their investment go to waste! The Opps say they’re #NeverLacking, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now!
Shibata & Bowens back down while Moxley, Marina, Claudio, Yuta, Garcia & Pac all step up to support Ospreay. Joe says, “Soon. Soon.” The fans cheer the Death Riders, or at least Moxley, but Bowens promises Joe is gonna kill you, Ospreay! The dream match for Double or Nothing is on, but will the training with The Death Riders make Ospreay the new King of Harts?
BREAKING NEWS for next week!
If you liked last week’s THREE HOUR block of AEW, then you’ll love this next one! Portland, Maine, the last Wednesday before Double or Nothing, Dynamite & Collision are combining forces again! Three hours all on TBS and HBO Max, make sure your DVR is set accordingly!
Backstage interview with Don Callis & Konosuke Takeshita.
Renee is now with The Invisible Hand & The Alpha, saying tonight is a huge opportunity in the main event, Konosuke facing Darby Allin for THE AEW World Championship. Konosuke could be heading into Double or Nothing as a- Callis stops Renee there to say Konosuke will be heading into Double or Nothing as a DOUBLE champion! But then MJF steps in, apologizes for the interruption but says Renee’s doing a great job. The Scumbag tells Konosuke that while it’s been a minute since the two of them have talked, three years actually, back when MJF beat him… MJF has seen Konosuke develop into truly one of the best wrestlers in the world!
MJF believes that tonight, Konosuke beats Darby for the title, goes to DON to beat Okada, and MJF can’t think of a better match than Konosuke VS MJF Part 2 for the world title. How’s that sound? MJF offers a handshake, Konosuke shakes his hand, but in Japanese, Konosuke tells MJF that he’ll beat the crap out of him. Thankfully, MJF doesn’t know Japanese. Callis says that was a nice pep talk MJF just gave, and MJF says yes, he knows. That kid needs to win, okay? MJF can’t let Darby turn him into some disgusting, bald freak! No offense, Callis looks great. But look, there is only one foolproof way to know MJF won’t be put in that situation.
So if things get hairy… MJF hands over the Dynamite Diamond Ring! Callis smiles, and say she understands what to do with it. But then in steps Andrade. El Idolo takes off his hat to shake out his amazing head of hair, and smiles at MJF. MJF frowns and leaves. Callis says here’s the deal: Takeshita will bring the world title home to the Don Callis Family tonight! Andrade asks, “How you know?” Callis says aye dios mio, he seriously doesn’t know where Andrade learned English. Andrade says one way or another, the next time, that will be HIS title. Callis says yes, he knows, it’s all good. Callis is a man of many talents, but will his family be dripping with gold thanks to a diamond ring?
AEW now announces the Women’s Owen Hart Memorial Tournament brackets!
Double or Nothing will see Willow Nightingale, the reigning Queen of Harts, take on Alex Windsor, while we will see Persephone VS Hazuki, Skye Blue vs Sareee, and Mina Shirakawa VS Athena! Champions from around the world are gathering for this tournament, but who will be headed to Forbidden Door, and then All In: London?
Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.
Renee Paquette is now with Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Willow Nightingale. Renee commends Cassidy on his part in the 10 Man Tag victory. But it seems that there is even more business to attend to. Cassidy says yes, the team has a shot at THE AEW World Tag Team Championships. It doesn’t matter who it is, they’re getting their shot, but the thing is… They still haven’t decided on which two will be. Kyle says Cassidy & Roddy should go for the gold, but Roddy shouts, “KYYYLE~! Thank you.” Kyle says of course. But that’s cuz he’s got gold to chase for himself!
The same man that put Kyle on the shelf for months is the man that Kyle submitted twice, and will submit again. Jon Moxley, Continental Champion, when are we doing this? Willow says speaking of gold, she is still the TBS Champion. But she is also in the Owen Hart Cup. She won this tournament before, she’ll do it all over again, so that she can have all the gold for herself at All In: London. She knows she can, and she will! Then Conglomeration has it all in order? Cassidy says hold on, there’s something missing. They should do a Word of the Day. Why haven’t they done one in so long? Roddy shouts for “MAAARK~!” And yes, Mark Briscoe returns!
The Sussex County Chicken is all fired up, and he says the Word of the day is reunification! For Mark Briscoe is back with his boys and his girls, The Conglomeration! But he’ll put this plain and simple: Tommaso Ciampa! Next Wednesday, Briscoe’s after your ass, son! You hear him? But before that, Saturday Night Collision is in HIS hometown, Salisbury, Maryland! That’s just 4.4 miles from where Briscoe originated on this earth! They’re gonna conglomerate and it’s gonna be a a hell of a time! Are you ready!? Willow and Kyle are fired up, Briscoe goes wild, and the team heads out. Cassidy admits, that was a lot of yelling.
But while The Conglomeration is ready to go Double or Nothing, will they soon have even more gold in the collection? Or are these high and lofty a little too much even for them?
Six Woman Tag: Hikaru Shida & The Brawling Birds VS The Triangle of Madness!
With the news of both the AEW Women’s World Championship Fatal 4 Way for Double or Nothing, and the Owen Hart Cup brackets, this trios match is about much more than just settling scores! The fans cheer as The Babe, the Fighting Gravure Idol & La Mera Mera save the day. But will Jamie make sure Thekla and Shida pay for this at Double or Nothing?
AEW World Championship: Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita!
They say “card subject to change,” and that is true even for the best in the world. Kazuchika Okada’s real family takes priority, but his Don Callis Family brother was more than happy to step up for this opportunity. Will The Alpha already have two belts by the time he and The Rainmaker battle over the International Championship? Or will Darby truly be relentless in his pursuit of being the best fighting champion in AEW history?
The introductions are made, THE belt is raised, and we see who goes to Double or Nothing on top!
Callis joins commentary to say that while Darby’s been breaking his own body, Konosuke has perfected “rejuvenation training,” aka relaxing on a beach and sipping sake! The bell rings, and Darby SHOTGUNS Konosuke out! Then Darby DIVES, but Konosuke catches him! Konosuke POSTS Darby, then THROWS him into railing! Darby bounces off the buckles and is bleeding from the mouth already! Konosuke stands Darby up, hoists him up top, then he climbs up after him. But Darby BITES Konosuke, CLUBS him down, and leaps for a CROSSBODY, but he bounces off Konosuke! The fans fire up again as Konosuke whips Darby for a BACKDROP! Darby fires forearms, then goes up a corner! COFFIN- NO, Konosuke catches him for a SUPER BLUE THUNDER BOMB to the floor!! The fans go nuts again and Callis says that’s the end of Darby Allin, but Dynamite goes picture in picture.
The ref hurries to check Darby but Callis tells Doc Sampson to call it. Darby is somehow still in this, so Konosuke storms his way over. Konosuke drags Darby up, puts him in the ring, then paces around him. Konosuke runs the ropes to LARIAT! Darby flips inside-out, Konosuke covers him, TWO!! Darby still has fight inside but he’s also dazed. Konosuke clamps onto Darby with a chinlock and squeezes tight. Darby endures, even as Konosuke leans on him with his much-taller frame. But Darby is right up top! COFFION DROP on the back!! Then Darby goes right back up, COFFIN DROP again!!! Cover, DARBY WINS!!
Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)
Callis is steaming, but Darby overcomes Konosuke to avenge that loss in the Continental Classic! But it also took so much out of him just to do it! Darby still asks for a mic and one is brought to him. Darby sits up against the ropes, has them cut his music, and he tells MJF to get his ass out here! There’s a contract MJF needs to sign! The ring crew hurries to bring in a table and some chairs for that very contract signing, and MJF makes his entrance. MJF reluctantly makes his way down the ramp, and both men meet at the table. Darby grins with blood still in hiss teeth, and he signs his part of the contract without hesitation, unlike MJF.
The fans already chant “BALD! BALD! BALD!” at MJF, and Darby pushes the contract to his side of the table. MJF grabs the pen, reaches out, but then steps away. MJF scratches his chin as he thinks on this, and the fans just chant, “BALD! BALD! BALD!” again. MJF takes a mic to say he’ll explain something to Darby, looking like he has rabies. But see, MJF is happy for Darby, he hopes Darby’s had fun holding MJF’s AEW World Championship. The fans boo that, but MJF says deep down, there is a small part of him, like the size of a North Carolinian p*nis small. That small part of MJF feels bad for Darby, because he’ll never hold this again!
Darby’s got about a good a chance of holding this title as Hangman Adam Page does again. MJF says guys like Darby are a dime a dozen, here today and gone tomorrow, stuntmen who burn the candle at both ends. In this life, people like all these fans here like to pretend that life is about making friends and family and children. The only thing that matters in life is your legacy. And Darby’s legacy will be that of the kid who had his 15 minutes of fame. They’ll pretend like Darby made a lasting impact, but the fact of the matter is, he hasn’t. He hasn’t! They’ll know deep down that Darby Allin was just a little pr*ck who got lucky.
They’ll know that Darby was too reckless and stupid to stay on top. And after May 24th, Double or Nothing, in that sh*thole of Queens, New York, y’know what MJF’s legacy will be? He’ll go down as the guy who became a THREE-TIME World Champion at just 30 years of age, unprecedented in this sport. And MJF will go down, when it’s all said and done, as the Greatest of All Time! THAT is the difference between them! Darby Allin brags about climbing a mountaintop. But when it comes to professional wrestling, Maxwell Jacob Friedman IS the mountaintop! The fans boo but MJF soaks it up. Darby tells MJF to SHUT UP!
Only someone like MJF who is so vain would think that the number one most important thing in this world is his legacy. Darby doesn’t care about legacy, he cares about living in the moment! And in this moment, Darby just wants MJF to sign the contract. Then at Double or Nothing, Darby makes Maxwell Jacob Friedman a BALLD HEADED B*TCH!! MJF frowns but the fans cheer that! MJF grabs the pen again, and with no choice, he signs on the dotted line! Then he TACKLES Darby! The fans boo as MJF beats up Darby after the war he went through with Konosuke! MJF CHUCKS an armchair outta the ring, FLIPS the table, then picks up his Dynamite Diamond Ring.
MJF puts the ring on his finger like always, then winds up to DECK Darby!! The fans boo but MJF just soaks it all up. MJF throws off his jacket, picks up the belt, and he stands over Darby with it. But then MJF isn’t done with Darby, he puts Darby on the top rope! MJF climbs up to join him, and drags Darby into position! But wait! Kevin Knight runs out here to chase MJF off! The Jet still owes The Scumbag a receipt, but it seems we’ll all have to wait on that. Will MJF still take back the title at Double or Nothing? Or will Darby keep the belt and take MJF’s dignity?
My Thoughts:
An awesome episode for Dynamite as things heat up towards Double or Nothing. Awesome 10 Man Tag to open, great win for the Faces, not that it added much to FTR VS C&C. Good promo from Jericho to look back on Stadium Stampede and hype up this year’s match. Good promo from The Demand with Davis and The Dogs, and I suppose this maximizes the feuds as well as the alliances throughout the locker room. Who knows who wins but the match will still be awesome, just as the original was. Good promo from Conglomeration, too, Cassidy & Roddy going after FTR while Kyle VS Moxley happens on the side, that’s great stuff.
Speaking of Moxley, great promo from him and Ospreay. Moxley’s semi-turn has really brought out his sage philosophical side. Great match from Ospreay VS Ace, and while Ospreay could always bring out his aggression, seeing him use more technical wrestling and even winning with a submission is good stuff. Good promo from Joe, and I liked Death Riders backing Ospreay up. Very good Owen Hart Cup brackets this year, Joe VS Ospreay is a great choice given this story, but I would think Ospreay wins that one. Good promo from Jack Perry to call out Davis, and I suppose Jack can win in the Owen Cup to then move on from the National title.
Great seeing Brian Cage back, he gave Knight an awesome match, but with JetSpeed wanting to go on a Two Man Power Trip, it makes sense Kevin won out. Same for Bailey beating Westbrook, even though Westbrook maybe went too hard on his own acrobatic escape. Great stuff in the Six Woman Tag, and I appreciate Shida didn’t ditch until after the match. Willow, Mina & Rosa might get their own Six Woman Tag with Triangle of Madness after that interaction, but also can’t wait to see if Willow can go back-to-back as Queen of Harts. For that matter, I personally would love to see Athena use the Owen Cup to move on from being ROH Women’s World Champion, but that depends on how Supercard of Honor goes this Friday.
And of course, another wild instant classic from Darby as he overcomes Takeshita. I knew the diamond ring would come into play with that reverse effect, good way of protecting Takeshita in the loss. Good stuff with MJF tonight, too, such as the opening segment’s parade of bald men to send the message to MJF. That was also a unique contract signing segment in that it came together so quickly after the main event match. Good stuff from MJF as always, and of course he attacks Darby. I feel like either Knight should not have made the save, or both parts of JetSpeed should’ve made the save. It just seems odd that only Knight cared about saving Darby. The closing moment was much better when it was MJF standing over Darby with the belt.
My Score: 9/10
